Welcome to the new Morning Seditionist blog. Let’s keep the memory and spirit of Morning Sedition alive and kicking! Stop by here first to say hello, and let us know you made it.
Formerly known on the MS blog as CharlieGillan. I adopted the Maronism
of Hatebuzz because it aptly describes my emotional state since the
announcement of the cancellation of Morning Sedition.
(and “fuckdannygoldbergthedouchebag” was too long)
This is where I will be after December 16th and until Marc brings back
Morning Sedition.
Formerly known on the MS blog as Old Zeb. I adopted the new name of Old Zeb because I’m and old guy and get lost easliy and forget things. If I change anything you’ll hear about me on the news as the “old guy who wandered away from the home wearing only a bathrobe and fuzzy slippers….”
What? Does my withered old face remind you of the grim spectre of death?
Hi Old Zeb:
I was getting lonely here all by myself.
Howdy there Old Zeb, and the blogger formerly know as CharlieGillan. Thanks for stoppin’ by.
We’re here!
Hi, All —
Nice to have a place to hang out with all the old seditionists!
We’re up for a nostalgic 14 days going down memory lane. This masterpiece of satire and truth was with us for such a short time but it seems like forever in some ways because there is just so much to it. May Danny Goldberg rot in hell forever for being the grinch who killed Morning Sedition.
Present.
Greetings, all!
As this site doesn’t require at least five characters, I’ve shortened my blog ID.
Hello Folks…
I’ve just logged on here too. I also posted demented ramblings and anti-Goldberg screeds at Air America Place and the Morning Sedition blog under this name. Tis good there’s a place for sooned to be orphaned bloggers to congregate and vent our speen at everyone’s favorite progressive utopian with no sense of humor. I hope someone with a boatload of money will see the opportunity Goldberg’s giving them by dumping his best shows. If I had the bucks, I’d snap up Maron, Lizz Winstead, Jim Earl, Lewis Black, Belzer, Chris Guest and Robert Klein and let them have free reign. Maybe get an expat’s point of view from Rich Hall and guest contributions from my favorite Scottish/Italian comedy writer-producer Armando Iannucci (the funniest bloke to come out of the UK since Peter Cook IMHO)too.
Goldberg’s sadly deluded if he thinks he’ll lure NPR folks away with NPR-with annoying commercials in the AM, followed by the audio pig farm effluent otherwise known as Springer on the Radio. It may happen during lengthy fund drive pitch breaks, but not otherwise.
Thanks for setting up the site. Although I haven’t contributed a ton to the old MS blog, I try to link to AAR stuff around once a week to my own blog. I will blogroll you right quick.
Hey there fellow soon to be lost Seditionists! So, is this like, our ark until Marc gets a new show and blog(hopefully)?
>So, is this like, our ark until Marc gets a new show and blog
Hell, it better be longer than that; I paid for a year! 🙂
Hi Guys, Thank you for putting this site together. I’m really glad I found it and have other people who understand this travesty, who I can commiserate with, my husband is getting tired of my daily vents! Although he enjoys hearing the archived pieces of the show, he is a Randi Rhodes freak. I keep telling him, wait until this happens to her and you! Anyway, I am still in the denial phase and reading the blogs on the other websites only gets me more irrate and depressed. After Marc leaves, its bye bye AAR for me. I can’t imagine listening to Rachael solo for any chunk of time. I could barely tolerate her when she did the show with Chuck D and Lizz Winstead. What a mistake this whole things is, AAR was such a promising idea, now it’s in the toilet as far as I’m concerned. Until Marc is on another show, its back to music CDs in the car for me. Do you think this Goldberg guy is a Republican working for Bush or just really out of touch? I also can’t believe that no other host on AAR can do anything to help, if Franken is really running for office in the future, can’t he do something? Can he campaign and assuming he wins, still do a show? Can’t he use his influence and or residuals from SNL to do something? What about Springer? Doesn’t he have enough with that silly TV show as he calls it? I am really mad at all of the other hosts with the exception of Mike Malloy (although I figured he at least would say something or try to help). Randi Rhodes, I thought was supposed to be Marc’s friend. With her mouth and demeanor, you figure she could make some headway. Janine Garafolo put up such a stinking fuss when this Goldberg guy got involved with AAR, what a hypocrite, I guess the West Wing is more fun. I won’t watch her on that either, just as a matter of principal! So much for team support. Good riddance to them all!
Did anyone else get the mass-email from Rob Glaser of AAR asking to “give the new lineup a chance?” I just got it.
I got one in my work address and one at my Yahoo account…typical corporate boilerplate. I’m done with AAR come December 16th.
The “everyone” email was insulting. His bullet points demonstrated that he obviously did’t read the emails or the comments on the petition. I’d rather be ignored than patronized. I sent a response that I posted on the Morning Sedition blog. I restrained myself from using choice expletives.
Thanks all for posting and helping to continue our seditionist community.
Who’s up for drafting some sort of Letter of No Confidence, addressed to Goldberg and the Board of Directors? Hammer them for their bean counter actions. We should try to find out a little on what was behind the decision to axe MS. Somehow denounce the Arbitron logic which DG seems to rely on so heavily.
“Janine Garafolo put up such a stinking fuss when this Goldberg guy got involved with AAR, what a hypocrite, ”
What do you mean? Was Janeane happy that DG “got involved”? or was she angry that such a corporate animal was now the CEO? (If she falls into the latter, she might be down for sacking the wunderkind.”
I think Janeane – and others – were initially starstruck that Danny G. was coming on board to “save” AAR. Maybe he had the clout to bring investors onboard, I dunno. If turning AAR into some NPR clone with commercials is saving things, then it aint worth saving.
This Glaser form e-mail just sounded way too much like the Democratic party. “Oh, well, never mind that our candidates suck, you still have to vote for us.”
Well, maybe I have to vote for ANYTHING that will get this bunch out of office, but I sure don’t have to listen to crappy radio, whether it pretends to come from the left, right, or in between.
Give me a reason to listen, or I’ll go back to music.
Got to go back to work, but I want to thank pj for all your efforts. I am not a follower of comedy, but Marc & company have turned me around. I cannot imagine doing my knee exercises without laughing or crying with Marc. I have to do these annoying exercises so I figure I’ll make room in my study to exercise and turn on an archived podcast.
Did I read one day that DG is planning to charge people who want to blog on AAR radio stations? Just another reason to leave AAR on Dec 16 at 9:00 am EST.
Old Zeb, I may be older than you.
Howdy, y’all. Okay, I’ll stop being southern.
I’m glad we’ve got this in place before “the worst” happens.
pj, you’re a wonderful human being. I’ll start posting “I Will Not Fear My Meat” vegetarian recipes after the holidays.
It’s nice to see so many regulars on the MS blog over here. Hopefully we can keep this thing going.
So what’s the count on the Board members who shared our vision of Progressive Talk and how to draw in the sheeple? (Which was the whole idea to being with — entertaing the choir is not prime mission.)
Sinton and Kreeger. Any others?
Goldberg and Glaser staked their claims.
Also, I forgot who first noticed it to provive credit, but why don’t we all take “snapshots” of the number of folks logged in to the AAR blogs during the various shows and hours? Just for our information. Then compile our own graph of AAR listeners. I’m sure that the loyal AAR execs can extract the stats from the server farm to show the real popularity of the various AAR products. But proving to the boss that his premise is wrong would be as about as productive as pointing out to Hitler that he only had one ball.
Good to see you all…and I promise to control my song parody urges.
(Which was the whole idea to being with — entertain[in]g the choir is not prime mission.)
My gues is that the Goldberg/Glaser camp would say that Morning Sedition mostly “entertaining the choir.”
Will the new format of left news shows bring in the fencesitters and disillusioned Republicans? More than could Morning Sedition? (My guess is that the decision came down to do-re-mi. It’s much ckeaper to produce a single host news show.)
>Hopefully we can keep this thing going.
I hope so, too. I can tell you that somebody from Air America was here today, looking around. In fact, they were here early, and came back again a bit before noon, eastern time.
Unfortunately, as some of you may have noticed, my web hosting provider was having “unscheduled maintenance” that took everything down for a while this morning. Bastids. I thought maybe Danny launched a DOS attack on us!
I hope that, when things are over, Marc and the other cast of characters will drop by and say hello (plug appearances and projects, even). It’s also nice to be able to keep the juvenille trolls and freepers out. I’m sure a few will sneak through now and again, but at least I can control them to some extent.
You might be correct, Nicki.
Does Rush get followers because nothing else is there, or because he parrots what they feel? Instead of media insiders perhaps AAR would be better getting leaders from the military PsyOps who have seen the error of their ways. Time will tell, and although I think Danny and his lickspittles are wrong — and in it for their ego and CV inflation — I want the sheeple to wake up more than I want the funny. And I want the funny wicked bad.
My gues[s] is that the Goldberg/Glaser camp would say that Morning Sedition mostly “entertaining the choir.”
I correct someone’s spelling, and then proceed to misspell a word. Gues which one. (More than one word.) It’s much ckeaper[!] to produce…
>Hopefully we can keep this thing going.
I think we can keep this going, and make things turn out better in the long run. I have a CD of a talk that Alexander Cockburn gave, about creating a better existence after you have been displaced by people with a little more power than you. (And he provided interesting examples.) Same applies here. If we keep pushing, something new and much better will come about. Anyone listen to the Jonathon Kozol talk last night, on David Barsamian’s radio show? Kozol said that many young teachers fear speaking out lest they lose their jobs. However, he said that people can easily find new, better jobs after being fired.
Feel free to correct or make fun of me anytime!
Ya’ see, I can’t lose if someone corrects a mistake I make. If it turns I am wrong, you keep me from breaking something, injuring someone, or looking like a bigger dufus. If you are wrong, you get to be the dufus! (HA!) So, I can’t lose!! I can’t type, but I can’t lose! Criticism only enlightens and/or empowers me. Whack on!
I am listening to an old Morning Sedition show. Thank god for those. I noticed that there are several missing shows, including the first month. Any of these available?
I was listening to an old show (April 1, 2005) and heard maron use the term “hate buzz. People listen to Sean Hannity in order to get “a hate buzz.” Clever
mmiuccio, I don’t know if you had the chance to read that posting the AAR employee put on his own blog before Herr Goldberg made him take it down. He did mention that Randi Rhodes’ show was potentially in danger too. I have mixed feelings on that. Her heart’s in the right place, but she’s damned hard to listen to.
He did mention that Randi Rhodes’ show was potentially in danger too.
I don’t believe that for a minute. It’s only in danger if she decides to leave AAR.
hello fellow future Sedition orphans!
on the blog i was quietgirl and….well, i still am over here.
arrrgh, when i think about no more morning sedition and no marc, it brings a tear to my eye!
“WHO’S CHOPPING ONIONS!!!”
I can’t believe it’s true. Is there some way we can all get to talk to Marc. What about a big party/wake at O’Neil’s. I would try to fly in if I didn ‘t have to work. Anyway if we can’t get together, there ought to be something we can do that last week — like nonstop phone calls telling the Marks how much we are going to miss them. This week should have told the AAR fools that Marc can do it alone. How can they use the argument that Marc is merely preaching to the choir. Rachel may be the next star, but I can’t see her convincing the fence sitters to come our way. The Simpsons and South Park are big successes. They just don’t get it. Maybe they have never seen the Christmas Poo.
Good night folks. I’m listening to Lionel. He comes to us instead of Mike M. Have any of ever heard him? Whatdo youthink. He is smart, but boy can he be nasty.
Good night. Talk to you tomorrow.
I copied this from the MS blog. It makes me smile. Vigilence
http://lavender.fortunecity.com/manwood/185/animalhouse-germans.wav
I still think we ought to haunt the AAR blogs for a full week after Maron is off the air.
“Wheeeeerreee’s Maaaarooon?? BOO!” Franken, Randi, Majority Report, all of them as kind of a
death rattle so everyone remembers Morning Sedition and its potential greatness and how it was
squelched before it had a chance to rise to that greatness.
Can we have Smileys too? And maybe even a few hand gestures for kicks! 😉
Hey! we have smileys! 🙂
😀 ;P
okay those didn’t work. But what about LOL
Yeah, that John Belushi bite is good. I’d like to be able to access that when I need to.
Maybe this site could have a collection of noises that make us feel good like the panel of
buttons Marc gets to push. We could have Dan Pashman’s laugh, the WiFi 5000 Headline Translater
(I can never remember that correctly) the hallelujah choir etc. It would be even cooler if those
noises could be used like smileys in our posts like yahoo messenger does.I wish I knew more about
how to work that stuff.
Has anyone seen our loyal troll here yet? Wouldn’t it be great if you could somehow
attach a cyber “kick me” sign to the troll’s famous revolving IP address so that
where ever he goes he gets treated like spam or pop ups and gets booted or can’t sign
on anywhere? That’s got to be possible.
Actually, that person has registered as a user, but I anticipated that and am not allowing those posts to come through. That person (for lack of a better term) has attempted several posts, but they aren’t being allowed.
It’s great to be king. 🙂
It was NCBlue who thought about monitoring the user stats for rough measure of show popularity. I’ll bug my guru to write a script to harvest the data at uniform intervals.
Damn Zeb, you old guys stay up late. 😉
Time to throw that palm tree overboard!
Check out Jonathan Larsen’s posting at his blog Petty Larseny

Check out Jonathan Larsen’s posting at his blog Petty Larseny
Clutch Larsen’s long post both explains and confirms much. And it says much that I didn’t know. I always sort of dismessed assertions that Goldberg hated Morning Sedition. But Larsen says otherwise. I didn’t know that he got fired. What more can I say. Goldberg has got to go.
eya gang!
i usually hang at Majority Reports bloggie, but i wanted to drop in and tell Mark i’m going to miss him in the early AM. (3 AM on the west coast here)
Hope he gets a decent time slot here if he gets that weekend slot with AAR.
AAR is pretty “Corp Media” in a lot of ways, always wondered if it’s legit. Sam and Janeane pretty responsive but having been here since day 1 i’ve seen a lot of “shakey” stuff. Maron does deadly accurate satirical humor and i figure that’s one of the reasons they’re cuttin him off…
C’mon by MRR’s bloggie, you folks always welcome there! It’s also active 24/7, although peeps are getting busy this winter and it has slowed down a bit in the early AM hours.
love you all and thanks for caring!
Thanks for that link. I was wondering if Clutch would have something to say. He definitely bore the brunt of Marc’s uneasiness during his transition into the radio business.
Yet one more reason to despise Goldberg. He was out to kill the show from day 1, and refused to promote it – he tried to make it fail, and when it lingered on anyway, he killed it. If Marc had gone away quietly (like that would ever happen) he’d have just been gone one day, like Lizz.
Instead, we got a chance to tell them what a stupid idea this was, and the fucker still killed the show.
ya lizz still suing, got some info on that before it started.
funny thing is that the couple that started this all have never had a clue that we felt this way about station policy…
in my businesses i notice that when theres no good comm from a supplier or customer i’m likely to get burned.
I was wondering if someone was wanting to deliberatly kill Sedition when I heard it was being pushed into the 3-6am slot to make way for Springer’s audio abortion to air in drivetime. Stephanie Miller should send Danny Goldberg a personal thank you note for that. Combine that with the fact that nothing was ever done to promote the show. I never saw any ads for it in the Boston Globe, or any cab signs for Sedition. I see TONS for Franken everytime I’m down there. AAR could have made a boatload of money selling CDs of the Sedition comedy bits too. I wounldn’t cross the street to piss on a CD of old Oy Oy Oy routines.
…meant to say 3-6am on the West Coast.
ya jerry occasionally gets out of marshmallow land. but over all lizz an rachel were killer. jerrys a waste of time and in the prime spot for the west coast.
think al wants to go “mainstream”, what a mistake. Lampher was the best reason to listen.
al lost it on the recount issue, as did Sammer and Janeane. always wondered if they were’nt persuaded to back off.
GAO just confirmed voter fraud recently, no press though on the findings…
“Powerful Government Accountability Office report confirms key 2004 stolen election findings
by Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman
October 26, 2005
http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/19/2005/1529
As a legal noose appears to be tightening around the Bush/Cheney/Rove inner circle, a shocking government report shows the floor under the legitimacy of their alleged election to the White House is crumbling.
The latest critical confirmation of key indicators that the election of 2004 was stolen comes in an extremely powerful, penetrating report from the Government Accountability Office that has gotten virtually no mainstream media coverage. Click here for GAO Report
The government’s lead investigative agency is known for its general incorruptibility and its thorough, in-depth analyses. Its concurrence with assertions widely dismissed as “conspiracy theories” adds crucial new weight to the case that Team Bush has no legitimate business being in the White House.”
ya lizz still suing, got some info on that before it started.
funny thing is that the couple that started this all have never had a clue that we felt this way about station policy…SJ
Hey, SJ. Do you have a link for the Lizz stuff? I am curious about this story. You know, UF never had a chance. Clear Channel refused to pick it up–and helped put MS in a decent West Coast slot? (I am not trying to be ironic here.) Anyway, when DG came on board, instead of going great guns to alleviate the lack of stations for UF, he killed the show. (Perhaps it was the right choice, given the dire situation.) Then, Clear Channel began their campaign for “local” Djs. (We got Tyger Thom Hartmann in Portland.) Morning Sedition got pushed into real time, meaning 3-6am on the West Coast. Stephanie Miller also began getting her show on in the 6-9 slot. So, rather than putting resources into promoting MS, little or nothing was done. It probably goes without saying that the show grew inspite of the neglect. It grew largely because of grassroots promotions, word-of-mouth. Why was the show forced to whither on the vine? Here was a Morning Zoo style show that would have made people forget Howard Stern. Oh, Danny Boy! What was on your mind?
One thing about DG: although he killed UF (and MS) he still offers to put the cancelled personalities in other time slots. Chuck D, Rachel, Riley, and (apparently) Maron.
Maron does deadly accurate satirical humor and i figure that’s one of the reasons they’re cuttin him off…SJ
I think that it is a matter of $$$$$$$$. DG did not want to pay the necessary costs to maintain Morning Sedition (or Marty Kaplan’s weekend show). I don’t think that it was because of politics. Malloy is off the charts when it comes to Ohio–and other issues–but there is no talk of his show being in danger. Call-in shows are much cheaper than lavish comedy shows like Morning Sedition.
You can look at a PDF image of the 10 page filing here. It comes from Michelle Malkin’s site, so be sure to take a shower after you handle it.
Nice and clean and fresh in here. Loverly.
I’ll post a link to this blog at thesnotgreensea.
Stayed tuned for a snotgreen mailing list.
I forgot to mention.
Since this whole issue was announced, I’ve noticed a spike in visits to thesnotgreensea.
Interesting. Goes to show what controversy can do.

Thanks for that. For some reason, I was unable to open it. But I read the Malkin screed about it, so I probably got the gist. For some reason, I always thought that Lizz quit (in disgust) at DG’s decidions concerning UF, and not fired. Not significant. Apparently, AAR owes Lizz some cash. Living in Portland, I rarely listened to UF, occasionally streamed it. I did monitor the number of stations which picked up the show. About 7 out of 50 at the end. AAR did not do well in promoting the show–and this was pre-DG. Enough rambling for now.
Present.
Guess I arrived a little late. It’s great to see so many familiar names.
Hey Seditionistas! Where is everybody? Why no blogging?
This is GREAT. This could turn into a major Blog if it plays out right. Also whereever Maron ends up this could swing over to support him there. Super idea !!
Hey there! I guess everyone is listening to their own things now.
I’m listening to our local AAR guy Charles Goyette but I may switch over
to Stephanie Miller.
I am listening to Jay Marvin.
Hey Topperaar. I was only joking. Hey! I was the one who started the “Didju…” Woody Allen stuff.
Good Morning all:
I slept through the first broadcast of Morning Sedition and am listening to http://www.kctc.com rebroadcasting 6-9 left coast time.
Patrick on thesnotgreensea.com is archiving all comedy bits from Morning Sedition. I sent some money to support his efforts. He is effusive in his thanks. If you can spare a few bucks, he’d really appreciate it. I cannot wait to hear all the Recovery Corners and Dream Diaries.
Any word on Marc’s next gig?
Hey Canuck, glad you like it. I can also tell you that, from looking over the server logs, somebody from Air America has stopped by a couple of times a day since we got things uop and running. I hope that Marc, Jim, and the rest of the crew will stop by and let us know how things are going once they’ve landed the show one final time. 🙁 God, just thinking about that makes me feel terrible.
Here is an email I sent to the board members and a slightly different version to Danny.
I hope that in creating a weekend show for Marc Maron Danny G. sees the potential of his comedic vision, at the very least the demand and appreciation that his fans have for his unique approach to comedy/news/radio. These last couple of weeks I have been surprised at the people coming out in support of Morning Sedition, Paul Rykoff of OpTruth.org, Tim Robbins and Susan Saranden, Cindy Sheehan and the list goes ON! I am incredibly sad that Morning Sedition will not continue, it seems like such a crime but I am confident that Marc and Jim will have plenty of offers and that they will continue to deliver the funny whether at AAR or elsewhere. In killing this show, Danny has martyred it. Morning Sedition is officially a cult classic.
I have been reading a little history of AAR’s founding and it seems that the innovative vision AAR started with is being changed and not for the better. It seems like it’s going the way of the Democratic party, trying to pander to the middle. It’s not going to work. It didn’t work in the 2004 election it won’t work on radio.
Sincerely,
Krista Peterson
😆 Vince Vaughn got pulled over for DUI here in Scottsdale, Az the other day and
submitted to a breathalizer and was just under the limit. Jennifer Anniston was with him.
Not that Michael Moore is the Oracle at delphi…
(though he is getting big enough) he predicted these problems in his walk to the elevator rant on Left of the Dial. Yeah, the liberals might be able to win if we move to the right take on the mantle of Joe Liebermann, but then we would not be liberals anymore.
It may be a coincidence, but I believe we may be helping put the fear of god into Danny G.
I noticed a while back that the dollar-a-day wunderkind was going to make a public appearance this Saturday. With all the talk about picketing him I was going to mention it, with some reservations. (And I have picketed the local newspaper, so I would never self-censor or use prior restraint. We’re all civilized here and would never cause a riot at a public event.)
Well, it seems Danny has withdrawn! Could he be afraind of a public confrontation? You make the call!

Here’s a letter I sent to Danny G
Dear Mr. Goldberg:
Did you listen to Morning Sedition this week? It was superb. That you have eliminated Morning Sedition from AAR makes no sense. I, and many of my friends, started listening because of Al Franken. Now must of us go about our business during his 12:00-3:00 pm slot and ignore his show. We work hard, instead, to organize our lives around Morning Sedition. The jokes make us laugh and give us, workaholics, more to talk about than the field or the next deadline. We’ve all stopped listening to Morning Edition and cannot understand how you could think Marc’s show was too NYC and preaching only to the choir. If anything, Marc Maron and his crazy troupe have given pause to the Republicans in our crowd.
Do not think for a minute that they will be converted by listening to Rachel’s brilliant insights. As intelligent and committed as she is, it is Marc’s humor, warmth, and sensitivity that has made my Republican colleagues reconsider the issues of the day. I know them. They are already talking about returning to Brother Weeze if they elect to tolerate commercials or to NPR. I will listen to Rachel if I can tolerate the lack of humor, but I will not listen to the sophomoric Stephanie Miller show or stream Springer.
I’ve heard lots of ads for Al Franken, Randi Rhodes, and Ed Schultz on 950 AM, however, I have never heard a single promo for Morning Sedition. Based on what my Republican friends are telling me, they have heard MS referred to on Cable TV and read about the show on Drudge (I don’t have Cable and don’t read Drudge.) I, myself, have organized my day to stream Morning Sedition from Sacramento because I can’t hear all the show in the morning. That’s how much I, a person who doesn’t like cartoons, loves Morning Sedition. The name itself is brilliant. Had you pubicized Morning Sedition, I know it would have been a hit!
I hear you are an innovative person. If that is so, demonstrate it by apologizing to Morning Sedition listeners and acknowledge that you made a mistake. There is still time to show that you have character. Keep Morning Sedition on AAR!
Sincerely,
DrDance
Well said DrDance. The true friends of the show with pull at AAR are Doug Kreeger and Jon Sinton. Both lobbied long and hard to convince Danny to change his mind and keep Morning Sedition. In the end, it was Danny’s decision and he will have to live with it.
If you have a free moment, you should thank both Jon and Doug for their efforts. Jon is the person that hired Marc and Doug kept AAR going by paying the employees out of his own pocket during its initial finanical struggles. Both have expressed their deep sadness at Danny’s decision.
Thank you Dr. Frankel for your concise and cogent letter.
Pasteur and Salk and Sabin knew that the body’s immune system could be awakened to fight a viral threat by a subtle infusion of a weakened form of the threat.
The creators of Air America Radio believed that the same premise might empower the citizens of this country. Hearing the issues and crimes and travesties of the day enmeshed in rage, conversation, and even humor would innocculate its listeners and strengthen and embolden them.
I believe in that founding premise. And while I faithfully listen to Mr. Malloy’s passionate diatribes, I feel that the humor basis of the Morning Sedition program was not only the most entertaining, but the most efficacious. The character of Johnny K. Street proffered the “crimes of the day” and the odds of the scofflaws getting away. Future Marc depicted our fate, should reduction ad absurdum replace e pluribus unum. The characters and bit made real and made light the unfathomable horrors and despicable acts commited in our names. And after the tears of laughter were wiped away, Mark Riley and the endless stream of insightful guests analyzed in depth the details that the so-called main stream media do not relate. Robert Reich, Mick Foley, George Galloway, Jimmy Carter, James Wolcott — they revealed the meat behind the mockery.
And it was working.
For some reason the new management has chosen to abandon reason and logic. It is as if Desmond Tutu was instructed to speak in tongues and Michael DeBakey forced to swing a dead cat three times around a patient’s head. The changes are unfathomable.
The dream will live on, the goals will remain unchanged; the diaspora of the intelligent continues….

Dear Heritage Foundation:
I absolutely loved your article about the genuine progress in Iraq. I usually think of right-wingers as dour and pessimistic folk, but your starry-eyed optimism in the face of overwhelming information to the contrary is rather touching. “Look at all this horseshit, Daddy, Santa must have left a pony somewhere!”
I got quite a chuckle from your usually insufferably pompous web page. Thank you.

Farmerkat present and accounted for!
Very clean site and thank you pj for going to the trouble. You all are right, this is the MS Ark. Hurray! Hope Marc gets a show up soon. How long do you expect it will take AAR? That’s assuming they have a meetint of the minds.
fred also present and accounted for .. I think … Nice blog
The people calling into Washington Journal this morning.. all the wing nuts still have southern accents.. Whats the deal with this maybe AAR hasn’t gotten very far there.
Blog. Blog. Has anyone proposed pressuring AAR to fire DG for his terrible decisions? (Or perhaps he is doing the will of those with the most power at AAR.)
Whera are the bloggers to go after December 16th? Here! Here! Here!
Wow! I thought I had posted here last week, but apparently not. Anyway, I’m here now. Thanks PJ for the blog.
MS is down to single digits in remaining shows. Man, does that suck.
Yo yo yo y’all… Man, this was actually tough for me to come over here. I’m not sure how I’m going to react after the last show or what I’m going to do, but I’m glad to see fellow Worshippers O’ Truth and Comedy here and comforting each other.
I busted my ass on the anti-Bush (aka Kerry) campaign and ruined a knee in the process. MS for me provided a great deal of comfort during and after those times and when it’s gone I hope to be able to move on in some healthful way, but I’m worried that it may leave me even further “disenfranchised” from The Cause. I saw AAR as a Beacon of Light created for us to rally around and now it’s being destroyed by some recording industry now turned radio “exec” asshole. I have a definite one-step forward two-steps back feeling about all this.
I created the http://www.saveairamericaradio.com web site in reaction to http://www.savemorningsedition.com basically just to get another site up that would generate more search hits and have a different look. I may or may not continue with it, but if nothing else this and the other site (not created by me) can be used to continue badgering Goldberg and the people involved regarding this horrible decision. Please keep pushing. Who knows… I actually have some sub-conscious-level hope that if the new shows “fail” (which would also be sad as both Riley and Rachael are great people), maybe they’ll bring it all back and together, hopefully in a slightly later timeslot, and we could eventually end up with something even better.
It’s kind of like how I reconciled my depression after the 2004 election (besides traveling out of the U.S. and looking for other places to live) in that I wasn’t really a Kerry supporter and I now have some hope that in 2008 we will have a Real Progressive/Liberal Leader to rally behind, not just some marketing formulated personae that the DNC thinks has “a chance to beat the incumbent”.
Take it smooth and easy y’all,

Oh my gosh, the last show almost broke my heart. I had no idea I was this attached.
The call from Marc’s Mom was one of the most poignant things I ever heard on radio.
