Monday isn’t so bad when there’s Morning Sedition to look forward to. Only one more Morning Sedition Monday after today. I don’t know how the hell I’ll ever get through the week without it.

Good Morning! (Practice for December 19th)
My reply to Sheldon Drobny’s plea for support at Huffingtonpost.com

I’m sorry I have to turn a deaf ear to Mr. Drobny’s call for support. The AAR Board refused to listen to the audiences pleas to preserve programs such as Unfiltered and Morning Sedition, and is instead becoming just another dreary outlet for pontificating pundits. This course will not only not attract new listeners, but is alienating the current core AAR audience who came to love the refreshing blend of news, commentary and Daily Show style intelligent satire.
Here’s what I had to say:
That Drobny posting looks like a veiled, whiny response to all the support Sedition’s been getting from Tim Robbins, Susan Saranden, etc.
Yaktreats and pjsuater: Great responses. I’ll do my best to send something thoughtful too.
I could not believe what Randi Rhodes did today. She had a Marine reserves vet call in from Louisiana in the last hour of her program. He had to be in his late 30’s or 40’s. He sounded very articulate and then started talking about doing more for the country after he left the reserves. You could hear him begin to announce that he wanted to try to run for public office …. and then Randi starts talking all over him and rambling on about Cleland and Kerry and McCain. Then it went to commercial and I never heard what he was planning.
I guess she was just born to do radio.
Randi doesn’t know how to listen to people.
If it’s not about her, she can’t even hear it. I think the epitome of that was when she had Patty Smith on, and barely let her say two words.
Yes. Randi Rhodes does have a problem with talking over people. But I recall one show where she absolutely blew that Black Box voting con artist out of the water–what is that woman’s name? Randi demanded that the woman substantiate her findings. (I mean this person mentioned some outrageous discoveries.) Randi has a nose for lies and hypocrisy.
I agree with much of the criticism Randi gets. Personally, I am not fond of her championing the Democrats (and that creep Clinton). But I like her style anyway.
That was Bev Harris.
Yeah, as annoyed as I can get, at times, with Randi, when there’s somebody that needs to get smacked around, she smacks the shit out of them. And sometimes she’s pretty goddamned funny, no doubt about it. I go through periods where I can listen, and those where I need a break. I guess that’s same with all the shows, except for Springer, which I find booooooooring (I really, really tried to give him a shot), and Morning Sediton, which I make a point out of listening to.
