As we contemplate the fact that Morning Sedition will soon come to an end, we mark the anniversary of an even sadder event; John Lennon was murdered 25 years ago tonight.
I find it inconceivable that’s it’s been so long. God, I was young then, and going on my second college. It was a Monday night, as I recall. Some of the guys were watching the football game in one of the lounges, but I wasn’t particularly interested in the teams that night, so I was in my room listening to the radio when they came on and gave us the news. I walked down the hall to break the news, and just after I did so, Howard Cosell announced to the Monday Night Football world that John Lennon was dead. He was 40 years old.
It was even sadder, because John had just returned to making music again; Mark David Chapman has deprived us of 25 years of what I’m certain would have been great music, humor, and insight. The world needs you John – now, more than ever.
Blog on.
Good morning all. Hope to see the MS bloggers make there way over.
Good morning, HB. I hope everyone makes it over as well, especially as the end times approacheth. It would really be a shame for MS to just fade away.
Hey there, just waiting to see if I have work today.
Krista? Why would you not have to work?
I had a dream last night (cue music) that I was moving to Albuquerque to live in the basement of a house my friends there just moved into yesterday. When I woke up I wondered how long of a drive it would be to see Krista.
I realize Jim Earl has made himself his own place to play I’m sure he doesn’t need us but I really wish he’d stop by and say hello. At least once. I could use some Auto ZONE!!!!
It would be great if Marc, Jim, Kent, Bruce, or the other characters would stop by and let us know what’s going on. Perhaps after the end comes, they’ll be more able to stop by. They all have open invitations – and I can tell from the logs that somebody from AAR stops by here regularly, so pass the word along, please – for author status here to post what and whenever they like (it’s a lot easier than trying to keep your Big Page of Crap updated, believe me).
I hope, on the last day, they’ll refer everybody over to here. Who knows how quickly Danny David Chapberg will move to expunge everything Sedition-related from the AAR site?
I am doing faux finish painting and I’m waiting to hear from the lady I work for. I work on a per job basis which is not working out very well. Apparently, not everyone needs to work everyday.
I think it’s like maybe 3 or 4 hours to Albuquerque. I’ve only been there once but it reminded me of Phoenix 20 years ago.
Surviving Danny Boy
There is a fine line between “How long can you hold your breath” and “Revenge is a dish best served cold.” OK, It’s a stinking huge chasm, but it sweetly rewarding to see an antagonistic (or just an annoying) supervisor booted out.
An advantage of being old is that I have had that pleasure a few times. It can’t make up for the damage they have wrought on both businesses and human beings, but one obnoxious CEO I tolerated eventually had to flee the country. He completely killed a 70-year old business…but he is still on the lam. Not that DG will wind up in Costa Rica. After all, what have the Costas Rican’s done to us.
Team Sedition may be injured, but they will likely survive the diaspora.
Hey, just remember what John Belushi said in Animal House: “Nothing is over until WE say it is!”
I think I’ll play some Lennon tonight. “Instant Karma” has been in my head for the last couple of hours.

Please don’t tell! Look what happened to Pheonix and someday when I finish going to school New Mexico is where I hope to live. Somewhere near Gallup:oops:, Abique:wink:, Silver City:eek:, Las Cruces:lol:, Maybe Raton:razz:, or Taos:lol:. Lordy Lordy I love that state :-)
I think I’ve heard Maron say he has a relationship with New Mexico. Did he grow up there? I was born in Las Cruces, though I’ve not lived there since I was about a year old. I grew up in Belgium, but every time I’m in Las Cruces it feels like home. And New Mexico has the coolest flag of any state…the Zia, a Zuni sun symbol.
Perhaps the lads will go there and start a community–a year-round Burning Man-hattan, with little adobe houses and a FM radio station that plays All MS All the Time.

He has said that he was raised in Albuquerque. I’ve spent some time there and above all notice how free it is from the influence of professional sports.

I like the White Mountains over there on the border tween New Mexico and Az. That’s where I was when 9/11 happened. Good place to be when society goes haywire.
Uh oh YBNurmal, maybe New Mexico has other plans.
