Well, if you’re like me, the Führ– er, I mean, President’s speech was just so rousing (dare I say, a-rousing?) that you couldn’t get to sleep last night. I dunno ’bout you, but I just think he’s dreamy. Anyhow, for those who just can’t get enough of that bush, this thread’s for you.

Looks like free access to the AAR podcasts will end after Feb 7th (At least this was the intro to the MR podcast today). Well before The Marc Maron Show starts putting out podcasts on AAR. :rant1: Will Marc’s podcasts appear on KTLK for free :paranoid:?
The premium site of AAR lists only 7 shows on premium access. Does it mean access to the rest of the show podcasts would still be free? Shows like Ring of Fire, Ecotalk, Mother Jones on the weekends are worth their money.
you know what? it’s Feb.1 and KTLK still hasn’t put any ads for Marc’s new show :fustrate::fustrate::growl::fire:

Hi guys
Well Ray Talifero on KGO is calling for revolution this morning.. What did Malloy have to say last night ??
Do we know if Cindy got released or not ?? I read items that say yes and others that say she going to be kept in jail and tried as a terrorist…?? If she is going to be tried as a terrorist that might explain Rays comments.
dissent should be suppressed. cindy sheehan should be tried for treason and hung. we must support our government at all costs. if we dont support our government then all is lost, and the terrorists have won. you dont support the terrorists do you? support our president. waive your rights with your flag. long live king george!!!!!

MSNBC is currently reporting
Police handcuffed Sheehan and removed her from the gallery before Bush arrived. Sheehan was to be released on her own recognizance, Schneider said.
but from DU at 2:30 am
Someone wanted to know where I am getting my information.Well Cindy is like my daughter and I keep in close contact with her.As soon as i heard she was arrested I called her cell phone and no answer so I called DEDE her sister and she wasnt answering so called the arresting sergeant and was told that they were holding her and she didnt know when she would be released.I immediately contacted a very close friend of Cindy’s and we kept checking all the lasest news.
He finally told me that she called him at a little after 12 and that she had been held for a little over 4 hours. She was very tired and was going back to her hotel and go to bed.I will call her in he morning and see if she is going to stay in Dc another day as she was supposed to be on her way to LA in the morning.
Like the rest of you I can now go to bed as I was very worried!!!!
So it would appear she was released. ????:omg::growl::fu: George Bush :fu:
FASCISM IN ACTION LAST NIGHT
Schneider said Sheehan had worn a T-shirt with an anti-war slogan to the speech and covered it up until she took her seat. Police warned her that such displays were not allowed, but she did not respond, the spokeswoman said.
that bothers me it was cold she kept covered up untill she got to her seat fucking scumbag fascist gestapo bastards

Observations from last night’s debacle:
1) This FREEDOM he speaks of… can WE have some? Like freedom from wiretaps, and torture, and unelected assholes running the show?
2) Nice to know that you can now be “detained” for what is printed on your T-shirt.
3) I will be warning my co-workers today that they may be in danger of encountering projectile vomiting coming from my cubicle, depending on which parts of the speech I may be hearing on AAR at any time.
4) Malloy for President! Or is he over-qualified?
:fire::fire::fire:
America is addicted to oil. Yup, Cowboy George, it is. And rethugs not only allowed it, they ammased record profits from it. Reagan gutted all the mileage requirements established during the Carter administration. Not to mention the ending of tax credits for research into alternative energy sources. And five years ago you said conservation was NOT part of a comprehensive energy policy. Does this mean you are willing to admit your policies are destrutive to the United States’ economy? About time, cokehead!
Opps! Did some mention health care?

Did Fearsome Leader mention climate change in the SOTU last night? It is February 1st. This winter has been so mild. I just killed a wasp in my living room. And my daffodils will start blooming by this weekend. What the fork is going on?
I have to get this one out of my system. Kris LoPresto when he talks sounds exactly like TV actor Fred Savage.
You’re welcome, isi! Good morning, everybody. I didn’t watch that man last night. Did anyone rush the podium and tackle him??? I know…I’m :bong:
thanks for sharing that WHT. i have no idea who fred savage is, but i still got a kick out of that anyway.
Becky, I think Cindy Sheehan put her finger on the heart of the matter. The Republican Party has destroyed The United States of America. After yesterday the State of the Union is pretty bleak, what with another activist fascist put on the Supreme Court.
thanks for the #52 post, becky
What is going on with The Huffington Post. I don’t see anything about Cindy this morning.:?::?: They really didn’t spend any time covering the alito filibuster either.
Here is a take on the SOTU from MSNBC:
Bush assertions on key issues invite debate
Did anyone rush the podium
No, but Mary Landrieu rushed to get Bush’s autograph. :barf:
Howdy, Farmerkat and NCBlue. And everybody.
NC, the weather is creeping me out a bit too. I can’t believe how warm it’s been. But I’m oddly grateful in a way because my heating bill would be astronomical otherwise.
Haven’t listened to all of Marc’s CD yet but, man, he saying f**cking more than I’ve heard in a long time. Maybe it was all stored up from not being able to curse on AAR.
Good morning Truth seekers, I wonder if Cindy gets to file a lawsuit, if it’s just gonna show us how far down the rabbit hole we’ve gone as a country.
Farmerkat sez: ““Did you know that in 1971, the Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional to arrest a man who wore a “F— the Draft” T-shirt into the courthouse? (Cohen v. California…”
:roll:Didn’t you know THAT Supreme Court had a pre-nineoneone mentality?:sammy::no:

We are DOOMED! We have a pile of CRAP to crawl out from under and CRAP keeps getting piled on as we dig out!
The more I think about it the more it sounds like Cowboy George is warning America that his agenda, his party and his presidency are detrimental to America’s health. From what I read this morning most of the problems he was talking about were caused by Fearsome Leader and the rethug crime syndicate.
Had to read it. I don’t work in television anymore so don’t have to listen. Last night we cracked open a bottle of Pinot Noir and plugged in The Muppet Show. Great stuff, both of them.
So, my Bush supporting dad passed through town over the weekend. Since the selection we have not talked politics except for maybe talking about the effects of China. I had been wondering if he still supports Bush but have been afraid to go there. He starts getting angry and it makes me feel like a little kid again. We were in traffic and a car with a prominent Kerry sticker pulled in front of us. I did not say anything but he said “Kerry” under his breath in a disgusted tone. I ignored it. I would have argued if he had said something more substantive. Since he drives a lot he probably listens to a lot of talk radio. And he ends up at truck stops a lot so he sees the same things that Sean sees I guess.
Gotta go. Time to do some learnin’ thingies.
Vigilence!
So do we even know what time Marc’s show will be? I hope I can catch it live. I really don’t want to give any more money to AAR if I don’t have to.
Krista, I know exactly what you are talking about.
It looks like to me that the left has just abandoned Cindy Sheehan. Thanks to buzzflash for publishing her letter. But, it should have been plastered on The Huffington Post.

Lessons Learned from the Alito Fight
I think Rachel’s caller said a very important thing…
Like Martin Luther King, Cindy Sheehan was arrested while peacefully protesting. And it happened in the presence of the President and wingnut Congress. That’s where the neo-cons have put us.
I beleve that Sheehan has been quite active in recent times but the M$M obviously does little to let you know about it and the left sided press.. err internet sites are preoccupied with the scandals in DC. Truthout and Buzzflash are pretty good about publishing her editorials,
I’ve known people who have registered Republican to raise their chances of being selected to a jury. Then they can do jury nullification.
Dan Savage was registered Republican in King County (Seattle). He went to his local caucus during a presidential election and was selected as a delegate. He laterwent in drag to the county Republican caucus meeting.:rofl2:
Kent Jones is not that funny on Rachel’s show.
Rachel sometimes seems like she is a lead in to Stephie Miller.. Not comedy all the time but closer.. That would almost make sense but they are not on the same network
Yesterday, before my boss hauled my ass out to do an inventory in the kitchen’s walk-in freezer (we provide meals for over 600 kids every day and the USDA makes us count things as a result…) he was standing at the desk next to mine watching my co-worker do something in Excel. He was also, apparently, listening to my radio which was tuned to Randi. Since he has three personally autographed photos of Monkey Boy and Botox Girl on his office wall, I was a little nervous. So imagine my surprise when, on our way to the kitchen, he said, “I’m not planning to watch the speech tonight. I can’t imagine there’s anything that man can say that’s worth my time.” I kept my mouth shut, not wanting to jepardize my job, but if John is not waxing enthusiastic about George Dumbya, the world may yet be saved!
Well, I put Cindy’s story on my blog too. The more it’s posted the better.

Our General manager had a third order tizzy fit followed by a meeting and threatened to close the plant and move everything to China. The following Tuesday the Waste Management truck showed up and some one in facilities called the receptionist and told her to page the GM and tell him his cab was here. The dock crew asked the Waste Management Driver to pull around by the admin entrance.. Everyone was rolling on the floor. I don’t think he ever figured it out.

gypsy – reading your post made me realize how far removed i am from what’s going on “back home”. maybe it’s because i don’t work with any fellow ex-pats, but i can’t imagine what it must be like to have to worry about something like that at the work place. either i’ve been in japan too long or still not long enough.
for better or for worse, the japanese are really into the don’t ask, don’t tell policy. i’ve been married for 11 years and not once have any of my in-laws asked me anything even vaguely related to my political leanings. i have no idea where they stand either; it would somehow seem out-of-place to ask.
on a somewhat related note – generally speaking, japanese people will not say anything to a “friend” that might put him or her on the spot (unlike my 15-year old nephew who, during our first trip back to the states together, did get around to asking my wife, “So like, why did you guys bomb Pearl Harbor?”). in my first 15 years here, no one had ever said anything negative to me about my country or its president. but within the past few years, it’s gotten to the point where i can’t remember how many japanese people have told me exactly how they feel about america. it seems that even the most polite and considerate people on the planet have their limit.
Thanks for sending the link to Cyndy S’s letter. I sent it to some friends and may send more later. Work interferes. Fortunately, I love what I do.
oops Cindy, not Cyndy.
Wow. Yeah, I haven’t read all of the new posts yet. I’ve just awaken and am still blurred-out. I had this dream where i kept buying raffle tickets to win a brand new home and I kept buying them because I kept losing. I had another really funny dream, but I have forgotten it already. Anyway…

One of our bloggers called AAR trying to get some info on Marc’s new show. I’ll share some of what she was told below.
I have no way of knowing if the person she spoke with just had no idea what he was talking about, or was clueless, or maybe they’re all clueless at AAR, or, well, I dunno. I continue to wonder why we haven’t been told when (or even if) it will be on live, and on what station(s) – if any – and how long the show will be. I find it very strange. Anyway, here’s what she writes:
OH YEAR, THE BILL OF RIGHTS IS SO PRE-9/11
WHY DON’T WE JUST PISS ON THE ASHES OF THE DEAD? This is the real policy of the shrub administration!
Do you remember this thing….
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
:fu: damn bastards what the hell im hoping they air marcs show in the middle of the night on xm
:growl:time to kill some japanese people huah
All they would say is that Marc was going to appear on Riley and Rachel’s shows.
how odd is that:?: They had Thom Hartman billboarded on the AAR web page weeks before he came on air for AAR. I find it strange that they haven’t put anything about Marc on their web page or on their press page. :rant1:
Sean, are you channeling Ted in Nebraska again? :sammy:
thx becky for the buzzflash comment by cindy sheehan.

grim laughter, but it was laughter.
I find it strange that they haven’t put anything about Marc on their web.
I went back and listened to the 2 clips Marc made and he didn’t say he had a new show, he just said he was coming back to AAR in the near future. Do you think they are only going to have Marc on during AAMornings? And, in order to listen to Marc we would have to wade through 4 hours of :crap:
randi!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
:40:tonight i drink!!!!!
Well, according to the big announcement e-mail from AAR:
So, one would take that to mean he has a new show coming that will be “on the air.” I think AAR is perhaps just clueless in how to promote stuff. I guess they’re trying, at least, but geez. Mr Hotshot music industry insider ought to be able to figure out how to promote a new show, no?
pj, thanks. I forgot about that email.
Did I miss sheehan? I just turned on Randi and she was playing a clip from Gore’s speech, from a few weeks ago
A simple yes or no will suffice
Once again. I know when I’m alone.
travis, randi just said cindy would be on at 4:30 ET.
Ok. So later in the show she’ll talk to her. Nevermind
Thanks ISI. So, like, in 45 mins. cool

Remembering Stew Albert
by Jim Retherford
…Stew Albert will always live in my memory because of two extraordinary events in late-Sixties NYC:
The first was a group visit to the Palestine Liberation Organization observer team at the United Nations (probably in 1969). I don’t remember who planned it or who attended, other than Stew and Gumbo and (I think) Daria Price. Maybe Dennis Dalrymple /aka/ Crunchy Granola. Maybe Robin Palmer and Sharon Krebs. A small contingent of NYC leftist crazies. We met with a passionate young Palestinian (late 20s) and had an extraordinarily candid discussion about the Palestinian “question.” At one point Stew announced that he was Jewish and was very concerned about the public perception that the PLO hated Jews.
Our host replied: “Hate Jews!?! I cannot hate Jews. I am Jewish. That would be like hating myself. My mother is Jewish, my father Arab. By Jewish law, I am therefore Jewish.”
“In my village in Palestine,” he continued, “Jews and Arabs, for many many generations, lived together peacefully as one people, Palestinian people. We laughed and played and sang songs and ate at the same table for supper. Many, like my parents, intermarried. This ended when the Zionists came and drove us from our homes at gunpoint. Our Jewish neighbors, Sephartic Jews, dark Jews, were driven away also.
“We do not hate Jews. We hate Zionism.” […]
http://www.counterpunch.org
Today our Nation lost a beloved, graceful, courageous woman who called America to its founding ideals and carried on a noble dream. Tonight we are comforted by the hope of a glad reunion with the husband who was taken from her so long ago, and we are grateful for the good life of Coretta Scott King.
Remember “George Bush don’t like black people“. Oh yeah and you know Martin was rolling in his grave over that one. Republican legislation adversely affects minorities.
http://irregulartimes.com/sorry.html
Each time I am invited to this rostrum, I am humbled by the privilege, and mindful of the history we have seen together. We have gathered under this Capitol dome in moments of national mourning and national achievement. We have served America through one of the most consequential periods of our history – and it has been my honor to serve with you.
In a system of two parties, two chambers, and two elected branches, there will always be differences and debate. But even tough debates can be conducted in a civil tone, and our differences cannot be allowed to harden into anger. To confront the great issues before us, we must act in a spirit of good will and respect for one another – and I will do my part. Tonight the state of our Union is strong – and together we will make it stronger.
Two parties? Make that one party. Due to the democratic party being out of power in every branch of government effective debate has become a thing of the past. The republican majority has no respect for the minority party. The republican party would rather turn off the microphones and leave than have a meaningful debate with democrats. The only recourse left for the democratic party is the filibuster. When Democrats threaten to use this constitutional option the Republicans, just like a small child threaten to change the rules to get their way.
http://www.jsonline.com/news/nat/jun05/332943.asp
http://uspolitics.about.com/od/usgovernment/i/filibuster.htm
In this decisive year, you and I will make choices that determine both the future and the character of our country. We will choose to act confidently in pursuing the enemies of freedom – or retreat from our duties in the hope of an easier life. We will choose to build our prosperity by leading the world economy – or shut ourselves off from trade and opportunity. In a complex and challenging time, the road of isolationism and protectionism may seem broad and inviting – yet it ends in danger and decline. The only way to protect our people … the only way to secure the peace … the only way to control our destiny is by our leadership – so the United States of America will continue to lead.
President Bush repeatedly leads us down the road of isolationism himself. Alienating us from the rest of the world by refusing to sign international treaties on global warming, and invading countries that are of no imminent threat to us.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/2023835.stm
Abroad, our Nation is committed to an historic, long-term goal – we seek the end of tyranny in our world. Some dismiss that goal as misguided idealism. In reality, the future security of America depends on it. On September 11th, 2001, we found that problems originating in a failed and oppressive state seven thousand miles away could bring murder and destruction to our country. Dictatorships shelter terrorists, feed resentment and radicalism, and seek weapons of mass destruction. Democracies replace resentment with hope, respect the rights of their citizens and their neighbors, and join the fight against terror. Every step toward freedom in the world makes our country safer, and so we will act boldly in freedom’s cause.
Seeking the end of tyranny through tyrannical means creates enemies that will seek to terrorize us in the future. Our interference in the middle east has led to Hamas and Hezbollah becoming the elected governments of two middle eastern countries. Terrorist organizations elected? Yes it’s true, freedom is on the march. Now they will be able to more effectively run their campaigns of terror. thank you, Mr. Bush for breeding new terrorists in the middle east. I feel safer already.

Far from being a hopeless dream, the advance of freedom is the great story of our time. In 1945, there were about two dozen lonely democracies on Earth. Today, there are 122. And we are writing a new chapter in the story of self-government – with women lining up to vote in Afghanistan … and millions of Iraqis marking their liberty with purple ink … and men and women from Lebanon to Egypt debating the rights of individuals and the necessity of freedom. At the start of 2006, more than half the people of our world live in democratic nations. And we do not forget the other half – in places like Syria, Burma, Zimbabwe, North Korea, and Iran – because the demands of justice, and the peace of this world, require their freedom as well.
Should we not be invading these countries as well then? Shouldn’t we be in North Korea? North Korea has weapons of mass destruction. Our reason for invading Iraq was their desire to acquire these same weapons. Shouldn’t we invade North Korea rather than wait for the “smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud”. It would make for a consistent position from our leaders in the federal government. Wait a minute? We cant go to war pre-emptively with a country that could pose a real threat to us.

:mad:ok uh thats already too long damn it and im not even a quarter of the way through
:bow::fire:Maron NOW!!!!!
Did anybody catch Cindi Sheehan on David Barsamian’s NPR show? It was recorded prior to the SOTU address. Cindi is so common-sensical about things. She speaks for me (probably 90% of the time).:mad::rofl2:

:banana:i eat tomatoes
Are they fried green?
nah they are raw and red with salt:banana:
The following rant was posted to the Live Journal of a friend of mine who wants to be identified as “The Cranky-REMF.” He’s about to be deployed to Afghanistan (I’ve mentioned him before) and it’s obvious he has a few things to say first…
“Odin’s Eye! My unit is going to have to be issued DCU’s (the Desert Camo BDU’s) because the Army doesn’t have enough of the new ACU’s for us at this time. We have entire garment industries going under due to outsourcing and Chinese competition and we’re paying billions to KBR & Haliburton to pocket, yet we can’t pay American workers to sew some *$#(%*$) uniforms for the troops during a war?”
I now return you to your regularly scheduled bitching and moaning.
Here is an outright lie from bush, documented and taped!!
“Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires – a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so. It’s important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.” – George W. Bush, April, 2004.
Classic Fried Green Tomatos
* 4 to 6 green tomatoes
* salt and pepper
* cornmeal
* bacon grease or vegetable oil
PREPARATION:
Slice the tomatoes into 1/4 – 1/2-inch slices. Salt and pepper them to taste. Dip in meal and fry in hot grease or oil about 3 minutes or until golden on bottom. Gently turn and fry the other side. Serve as a side dish – delicious with breakfast!
if anybody else refers to bush’s lie about wire tapping using “buffalo” im gonna fucking lose my goddamn mind fucking franken man damn it he is driving me nuts arghhhh buffalo is already known for too many bad things we dont need anymore!!!!!
Sean, I spent some time in Rochester when I was in college. Buffalo compares positively to Rochester, at least.
:rofl2:
(This is mostly funny to me only but trust me, it’s funny.)
word rochester sucks even more
Okay, Ed Schultz just won a ton of appreciation from me. He’s rooting for the Seahawks. I don’t care much for football but…but it’s the SEAHAWKS! I won’t be watching the game but my heart will be with the Seahawks… (as I snack my way across New Seasons Market eating peculiar sausages and drinking beer samples.)
Getting back to the SOTU…who is trying to turn Monkey Boy into a Kennedy? Is this a direct slap at Senator Ted? First the whole trip into space fantasy and now the science education nonsense. Next think you know, he’ll be slurring bad German and plotting a new Bay of Pigs offensive.
if anybody else refers to bush’s lie about wire tapping using “buffalo” im gonna fucking lose my goddamn mind fucking franken man damn it he is driving me nuts

Hey Sean, Franken said yesterday and today that he’s going to keep playing it as often as possible. I guess you should stop listening to his show until after the impeachment. :billcat:
Bill Young, the Republican congressman whose wife was tossed last night for wearing the t-shirt, represents my district. I’m going to send him a sympathetic e-mail suggesting that he encourage his wife to unleash her wrath at the Bushies. Beverly visits army hospitals all the time and has little tolerance for bullshit.
Not that I agree with their politics, most of the time I usually don’t other than supporting the troops, but shitty treatment is shitty treatment. Young is going to be next to impossible to defeat in November, but maybe we can get him leaning in our direction a little more. Neither Al Gore nor John Kerry would have in a million years thrown someone out over a slogan on a shirt.
Just when I think Bush can’t be more of an asshole, he proves me wrong. I should know by now.
see what i have to deal with!!!!!
SEANIESEAN5: hauled off to jail for the shirt she was wearing!!!!!
bigpoppamock: who?
SEANIESEAN5: cindy sheehan
bigpoppamock: her 15 minutes of fame were over like 2 months ago
SEANIESEAN5: yeah then the cops gave her an extra fifteen last night
bigpoppamock: she wasnt arrested for the shirt
SEANIESEAN5: they kicked out another lady from the state of the union speech that was wearing a shirt that said support the troops
bigpoppamock: she was arrested for failing to heed cops orders to move along
SEANIESEAN5: she was removed from her seat
SEANIESEAN5: because of the shirt she was wearing
bigpoppamock: for demonstrating without a permit
bigpoppamock: cindy that is
bigpoppamock: i didnt hear about the chick indoors
SEANIESEAN5: she wasnt demonstrating she was sitting in her seat
SEANIESEAN5: both happened indoors
bigpoppamock: no im talking about cindy
bigpoppamock: Cindy was arrested for sitting outside of the White House
SEANIESEAN5: no she was arrested again last night
bigpoppamock: oooh
bigpoppamock: last night on the news they didnt say anything about her being indoors
bigpoppamock: they said she was invited to the speech but was turned down
SEANIESEAN5: yeah they had the whole thing messed up last night
SEANIESEAN5: they had some shit last night about her unfurling a banner and all kinds of nonsense
bigpoppamock: yeah I just read about that now
bigpoppamock: personally, I dont care if she was arrested
bigpoppamock: Even if she hates Bush, he was performing his Constitutional duty doing the speech and she should respect that
SEANIESEAN5: they dropped all charges
bigpoppamock: of course the cops did, they probably got her out of there because they didnt want a scene
SEANIESEAN5: and it is total bullshit to arrest her like that in the first place thanks to the first amendment and uh she did nothing to interrupt the speech its just bullshit all around
bigpoppamock: according to CNN, she was only removed for questioning
bigpoppamock: all sorts of different media views

Capitol police drop charges

Hey, guess what? Not only are t-shirts illegal, but now political cartoons are, too.
damn it im never gonna be a top poster again 😥
I don’t think Ms Rant has her facts quite straight on Mini Nukes.. First of all most warheads are 500 kiloton and up with the max size being like 200 megatons. The kiloton/megaton number is the equivalent explosion in tons of TNT. The soviets did a test of a 200 megaton war head in Siberia in the 1960’s and almost destroyed the planet in that it went off to close to the ocean and started consuming sea water as fuel. The explosion went on for like 12 seconds or something and scared the s* out of the Soviet scientists. The smallest explosion you can get is whatever the minimum amount of Uranium or Plutnoium that will create a critical mass will give you. The two bombs dropped on japan in 1945 were like 10 kilotons and they destroyed a whole lot more than 5 square blocks. Tim McV’s fertilizer bomb flattened frame buildings two blocks from the Murrah building and blew out windows two miles away.
:evil:where is everybody?
ha ha im a top poster again yay yay yay:banana:
53 more posts and i get to move up a spot
Damn, I worked hard for that spot.:growl:

:bong:
No one can deny the success of freedom, but some men rage and fight against it. And one of the main sources of reaction and opposition is radical Islam – the perversion by a few of a noble faith into an ideology of terror and death. Terrorists like bin Laden are serious about mass murder – and all of us must take their declared intentions seriously. They seek to impose a heartless system of totalitarian control throughout the Middle East, and arm themselves with weapons of mass murder. Their aim is to seize power in Iraq, and use it as a safe haven to launch attacks against America and the world. Lacking the military strength to challenge us directly, the terrorists have chosen the weapon of fear. When they murder children at a school in Beslan … or blow up commuters in London … or behead a bound captive … the terrorists hope these horrors will break our will, allowing the violent to inherit the Earth. But they have miscalculated: We love our freedom, and we will fight to keep it.
Violence begets violence. Terrorists can strike anywhere at any time only thorough police work can expose terrorist plots aimed at destroying targets here in the United States and abroad. Shame on you President Bush for using fear to terrorize the American citizenry.

You know, I’m really concerned. I sent e-mails to my local AAR affiliate about the new show, and they never acknowledge me. So, as far as being jerked around, I feel like I was tied up to a bungee cord and tossed off a bridge.:growl: Ignoring your base is not the best way to go, especially in as small a market as Anchor Town:growl:

Jon:
What is up with the new Maron show? Please don’t tell me that it’s going to be some premium service. That’s unfair to the listeners.
Reply….
I don’t know, Steve. Hope not. At the very least, you’ll be able to get it from the KTLK Website in LA.
