Anybody watch the Grammy awards last night? Other than Marc’s brief report on last night’s MR, I remain blissfully unaware of who won (or was even nominated). Actually, I’ve mostly never heard of any of these folks. I guess I’m just not up on what the kids are listening to these days. And then I see the Stones at the Super Bowl, and start feeling mighty old. Oh well. I’ll listen to Marc’s full report on TRMS when I get back home, ‘cuz it’s up and out early today. I have to go and visit the Cisco van, and learn all about VoIP. Hopefully they’ll at least have some good swag.
 Slept in a little late today.
Freakin’ us all out:rant1:
ok, pj wasn’ picked up by the feds, life is still ok. ph :peace:few.
Well, it’s nice to know y’all missed me. 🙂
What? Are you saying this blogging crew can’t shoot straight?
Hey, man, I’m straight.
and i thought you had it set up to auto-post a new blog everyday at 5 am
these people are disgusting:
OMG, Sean–this is hilarious! Where did you post it?
Hey everybody! Today is the day! Marc is gonna be on the air again…wooohoooo!!:40:
Watching the antics of the rethugs it is so out in the open like they are flipping the public the bird and yelling “your are screwed and you can’t do a thing about this” ..:cry::eek:
Farmerkat, the corruption within the Republican Party is so rampant they cannot see it any more. Its one of those things the viewer cannot see from the inside. If the Democrats will keep this in front of the voters they can make some gains. But they won’t. They will sit on it until after the rethugs define the coming campaigns.
Watched about 2 minutes of the Grammys. U2 and MJB. Wow–she is truly, truly awful. Really not a good fit. I could’ve sworn I saw Bono giving her the evil eye as she mangled his song . . .
We were watching the Nets cream the Knicks. I’ve been, at various times, a fan of both teams since I was a kid (first saw the Knicks at MSG around ’71, and the Nets in ’74–when they were still on LI). But the Nets were a beautiful thing last night. I have lost all respect for the NYK. (Am I starting to sound like Riley?!)
I think the comment made yesterday comparing the Dems to the team that plays the Globe Trotters was appropriate. They have to be on the rethugs payroll .. of course they are both divisions of corpratist Inc.
i posted it on the beast blog they called me out on being a phony republican though:spank: anyway its here if anybody wants to read the original post that it was in response to okie dokie
ha ha! Kahn…sounding like Riley! :rofl2: No, I’m the same way about my Iowa Hawkeyes…and my beloved Cubbies:doh:
I thought Maron was suppose to call in to Maddow’s show and talk about the Grammys….No?
U2 and MJB
i also thought it did NOT work.
its :fu:danny’s nefarious neo-con plan to make us talk about sports on our politics blogs instead of politics
I have to get off the computer, the fans are making my ear drums pulsate or something, and go to sleep. Glad no one had a heaart attack or got hit by a car. Or a huge title wave from the Atlantic swept up everything on the east coast. Or NSA….You probably dug what I was burying from the beginning, huh? Before I get any more delusional, I’ll say good night :sheep:le
I may have another ten minutes in me though, maybe .
nc, wait, there’s more❗
im passing out as soon as the maron is done being on:yawn:
I agree, Fred. It is almost mind-boggling how open and in-your-face the rethugs are knowing they are destroying our society and we can’t do anything to stop it.
-> “Go to bed with Marc Maron”?
Jason–
I think he’ll be on around 8:30 (Eastern time).
rachel has a doctorate?:doh:i need a degree
Thanks kahn:nod:
oh shit cow stomachs:shock: rock on:banana:
Yup, sleepy time…time.
Now my schedule is ruined:rant1:I was doing good, too.
Received email from Mark Riley last night. His blog had two comments yesterday. So I added a comment that the Mark Riley experiment had failed. He took offense at that. He also told me if I was interested I should visit this website. At least Riley reads the blog occassionally.
Hey Travis…ya’ gotta stay up for the Maron spot on Maddow’s show! I know ya’ got it in ya’…:sammy:
By the way, I downloaded that movie Loose Change about the conspiracy behind 9/11. Malloy has been talking about it. Anybody here seen it yet? I’m gonna watch it tonight…:omg:
Dude, I don’t have any head phones and my portable tv that I was using as speakers decided to hop on the train to fritzville. I have no listening devices:40: I think
NC, Riley sent you a personal email? What did he say exactly? Do you mean “this website” Morning Seditionists?
what website blue?:rant1:
hey jason – malloy’s got me wanting to see that film too.
Jason, I’ll paste Riley’s email here. It might help, though, if you see my original comment posting on the AAR mark Riley blog from yesterday. I looked a few minutes ago and the numbers are downright abysmal.
Hey Tom. Yeah I downloaded it today. I can send it to ya’ if you’d like. It would take a while though to download.
By the way Tom, I wanted to ask you…have you ever heard Rage Against the Machine’s reading of Allen Ginsberg’s Hadda be playing on a jukebox?
I feel bad for Mark. I don’t wish his show to fail. Nobody’s, well maybe Springer’s. Poor Riley…
heh heh! but nice response from mark…always the gentleman.
awwwwww riley loves us:love:
Goldberg gave the Morning’s a proper FXXK!:fu:
Good Morning. Watched some of the Grammy’s but I’m not really into any of that.
Hey Krista! How’s your blog goin?
Ginsberg’s Hadda be playing on a jukebox?
nope, never heard that one. i know nothing about rage against the machine other than the name. am i showing my age?
anyone ever hear ginsberg’s CD “the lion for real”? if you’re into ginsberg, you’d probably get off on it.
:banana:fuck rage ginsberg!!!!! awesome e-mail me it seaniesean5@aol.com send it now i need it i :love:love ginsberg and i :love:love rage i must have it send it already im tired of waiting:rant1: oh wait a minute i have to post this before it can be e-mailed to me damn it:doh:
I saw loose change and I think Krista did, too. I’m not buying most of that stuff though. Some of it is compelling, but most of it seems like something any crazy person could put together, like myself, given enought time and energy (which is not good)
Hey, if it’s free….
i don’t want mark to fail, per se, just want mark to rejoin marc in the mornings.
NCBlue, somebody tried to not equate radio listening and blogging for the same radio show. How come even Springer’s show has more comments than Riley’s.
Its just that Goldf..k 😡 cleaned out the morning audience from AAR.
Okay Sean give me a moment. I’ll send it in a bit…it’s a pretty big file so give me some time…it’s really f’n
fantastic! It’s from one of their live shows and was only released as a B-Side singles album. From the same show they do a song called Black Steele with Chuck D!:growl:
friggin if anyone has ginsberg mp3s email me them too specifically if anyone has the “who wanted a bomb someone must of wanted a bomb” one or howl or whatever else you may have
Wish that stupid (Gold)f..k :fu: would read this blog instead of Riley. There are a lot of things we have to say to him :fu: :fu: :fu:
Nobody wants Riley to fail, its just that his show is so unfunny.
Inn at Perry’s Cabin is on St. Michaels – great place that takes dogs. AND now the evil ones there….
Sean if it is to big to send by email, I’ll just post it on my site. But, I’ll try the email thingy first! :fire:
Like I pointed out to Riley in my reply, his focus seems to be NYC. That doesn’t do much for me in Raleigh where our big news is the inquiry into campaign finance abuses by the Democratic speaker of the state house – Jim Black. Hate to say it, but the top two Dems in the North Carolina General Assembly must go if we want to end corruption in Raleigh.
wow chuck d doing black steel in the hour of chaos with rage thats friggin awesome too
No Travis I did not see Loose Change.
Oh, sorry. I thought you watched it on google. Nevermind, it was probably someone else on the old blog:oops:
Someone make Randi stop doing Bush impersonations! I can’t take it anymore!
black steel in the hour of chaos
I got a letter from the government
The other day
I opened and read it
It said they were suckers
They wanted me for their army or whatever
Picture me given’ a damn I said never
Here is a land that never gave a damn
About a brother like me and myself
Because they never did
I wasn’t wit’ it but just that very minute…
It occured to me
The suckers had authority
Cold sweatin’ as I dwell in my cell
How long has it been?
They got me sittin’ in the state pen
I gotta get out – but that thought was thought before
I contemplated a plan on the cell floor
I’m not a fugitive on the run
But a brother like me begun – to be another one
Public enemy servin’ time – they drew the line y’all
To criticize me some crime – never the less
They could not understand that I’m a Black man
And I could never be a veteran
On the strength, the situation’s unreal
I got a raw deal, so I’m goin’ for the steel
They got me rottin’ in the time that I’m servin’
Tellin’ you what happened the same time they’re throwin’
4 of us packed in a cell like slaves – oh well
The same motherfucker got us livin’ is his hell
You have to realize – what its a form of slavery
Organized under a swarm of devils
Straight up – word’em up on the level
The reasons are several, most of them federal
Here is my plan anyway and I say
I got gusto, but only some I can trust – yo
Some do a bid from 1 to 10
And I never did, and plus I never been
I’m on a tier where no tears should ever fall
Cell block and locked – I never clock it y’all
‘Cause time and time again time
They got me servin’ to those and to them
I’m not a citizen
But ever when I catch a C-O
Sleepin’ on the job – my plan is on go-ahead
On the strength, I’ma tell you the deal
I got nothin’ to lose
‘Cause I’m goin’ for the steel
You know I caught a C-O
Fallin’ asleep on death row
I grabbed his gun – then he did what I said so
And everyman’s got served
Along with the time they served
Decency was deserved
To understand my demands
I gave a warnin’ – I wanted the governor, y’all
And plus the warden to know
That I was innocent –
Because I’m militant
Posing a threat, you bet it’s fuckin’ up the government
My plan said I had to get out and break north
Just like with Oliver’s neck
I had to get off – my boys had the feds in check
They couldn’t do nuthin’
We had a force to instigate a prison riot
This is what it takes for peace
So I just took the piece
Black for Black inside time to cut the leash
Freedom to get out – to the ghetto – no sell out
6 C-Os we got we ought to put their head out
But I’ll give ’em a chance, cause I’m civilized
As for the rest of the world, they can’t realize
A cell is hell – I’m a rebel so I rebel
Between bars, got me thinkin’ like an animal
Got a woman C-O to call me a copter
She tried to get away, and I popped her
Twice, right
Now who wanna get nice?
I had 6 C-Os, now it’s 5 to go
And I’m serious – call me delirious
But I’m still a captive
I gotta rap this
Time to break as time grows intense
I got the steel in my right hand
Now I’m lookin’ for the fence
I ventured into the courtyard
Followed by 52 brothers
Bruised, battered, and scarred but hard
Goin’ out with a bang
Ready to bang out
But power from the sky
And from the tower shots rang out
A high number of dose – yes
And some came close
Figure I trigger my steel
Stand and hold my post
This is what I mean – an anti-nigger machine
If I come out alive and then they won’t – come clean
And then I threw up my steel bullets – flew up
Blew up, who shot…
What, who, the bazooka was who
And to my rescue, it was the S1Ws
Secured my getaway, so I just gotaway
The joint broke, from the black smoke
Then they saw it was rougher thatn the average bluffer
‘Cause the steel was black, the attitude exact
Now the chase is on tellin’ you to c’mon
53 brothers on the run, and we are gone
okay folks, i’m gonna come clean. the very first time i listened to MS, i liked riley best. :priest:
but that was when sue was still on board and the funny hadn’t really found its voice yet.
riley really grew on me after kerry “lost.” He has a great way of putting things in perspective and in an historical context.
:bow:riley is friggin awesome when theres something to balance him with i think he is still great when k-lo gets on air with him he just badly needs a co-host
More than just a laugh:
One of my favorite Tom Tomorrow quotes:
:banana:sweet nazis goosestepping kick ass i wonder how many of those christo fascists got themselves some brownshirts
I think most of them need a co host. I really prefer the back and forth and the spontanaeity that can happen with debate.
someone e-mail me some ginsberg already:mad:
10 minutes till maron:banana:
:banana:hey sweet “galvanize” by chemical brothers won a grammy last night
maron maron maron maron maron maron yay:banana:yay
No wonder I didn’t spot Maron in the audience, he was back stage. Yay Marc!
good morning all…!
Yes, the grammys were pretty awful. I saw just a bit and then muted it and then turned it OFF! Saw the clips of McCartney and Sly this AM on TV….that was enough.
I dont think that Bono can really duet with anyone. Its always bad when he does that. The last thing he was on he did a duet with someone and it didnt work either.
I cant believe that Kelly Clarksville won over McCartney…though he is sort of a hack lately…crazy…
I expect that Marc is gonna be on Rachels show around now…after the news…
I do like how angry Malloy gets. It’s kind of funny.
listen to :mad:malloy:mad: on my blog after maron goes bye bye in about 10 minutes!
Im saving it for the car anyway….am not expecting much as far as him talking about stuff. Im dying to know what he thinks about everything thats happening lately…the world has gone mad…and we have no funny!
So funny that Riley is referring people here…I suppose I havent been all that kind to him. But, he needs a co-host…and he underuses what must be the best crew on radio. Hell, those guys (and Brendan) ran the whole show for the week of Katrina and they did fantastic! THEY should also have their own show!…
Has Riley laid off of Dave at least? Its just too pathetc…
Haha Marc’s favorite song.:rofl2:
:rabbi::rabbi::omg:Hurry the fuck up!:rabbi::nixon:
where the fuck is marc? maybe he will have his show back tomorrow since she just talked shit:spank: about aar premium:rofl2:
woo hoo
FLYING?
BONO? I HATE THAT GUY!
THE FUNNY YAY
Yeah! Marc! Sean, I just sent it off to you, let me know if you received it! :omg:
Goddammit! The stupid ASS realplayer fucks up right when Marc comes on. :fu:
ha ha he should stop and pick up travis!
blood of virgins:!:  :rofl2:
barack obama won a grammy! i wonder if he was there?
Here’s a scary quote about the national debt from PBS’s Nightly Business Report. First, this year’s interest on the debt is figured at $220 billion, with a ‘B’
nothing damn it nothing
Huh?? No fixed date for the show to start????
:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Well, yeah Rachel, Marc is relaxed because he’s GETTIN’ SOME!
He’s lying!:rofl2:
The Marc Maron show is gonna rule! Screw you Goldberg! :fu: Maron is comin’ back for the attack of the funny! Woo-hooo :fire::lol::pent::banana::bong::peace::doh:
Yeah, didn’t the email say the 13th? Marc didn’t say it so I wonder if it’s changed. It’ would be silly of him not to mention the DATE!
Kristapea, maybe Marc is “relaxed” because the air in L.A. is eating his brain and he just doesn’t know it.
Where is the subsatance? You are just posting.:omg:
Did anyone one else think that whole bit of Marc’s was unfunny?? And, of course his pass sucked it came from DG (you know, DG the supposedly successful MUSIC executive?) :blech:
DREAM DIARY!!
No Substantance!:fu:
I think the realplayer can sense anticipation because it seems like, many times when I’m anticipating something, it cuts out and what I wanted to hear gets broken up so that I miss the content!
He was lying. I can’t stand that mainstream clintonoid Bono.:fu:
Buffalo is getting aar on the 13th:banana:
now my friends can not listen
Kent Jones is not funny! Quit playing that cheesy beatle garbage.:fu:
krista – you’re not alone; i lost my realplayer connection just as marc was coming on too.
after hearing marc, all my pre and post-12/16 rage came back.
have i mentioned yet on today’s blog how much i hate danny “the tick” goldberg?
Jim Hightower is humorous. What happened to Kent Jones?
First buffalo gets aar. Next, mooses will get aar. Not soon after that deers will get aar. So will rabbits, squirrels, possums, chipmunks… When will it ever end? Oh, the humanity.
Yeah, WTF! Mr. Big Music Exec Pants can’t get Marc a decent pass?? Someone show me something useful this guy has done. How the HELL did he get his job??:fustrate:
G. I. Ken!:fu:
Sounds fucking retarded.
yeah cheesy bastards friggin barbie and ken:mad:
I am in a pissed off mood this morning.:omg::doh:
I better go. Need some antidepressants.:omg:
Sean just sent you another Zach reading. Let me know if you got it…:fire:
VX shuffle. I’ll bet Rove’s dirty tricks department was behind it.
Feb 13th The Marc Maron NO Show?????
Goldf..k :fu::fu::fu: How long will we have to wait for this???
God. This muzak is maddening!:-(:omg:
hey this chick has a cool blog on myspace check her out and if you have myspace add her as a friend her bulletins are way better than her blogs if i wasnt on the road wandering i would be trying to get with her she is my first cyber crush she is so friggin cool i’ll bet you she will help me get signatures to run for congress
Springer on the Radio.
We don’t care about U2.
Kelly Clarkson!:omg:
lets mention kelly clarksons grammy but not mention barack obamas friggin scumbag springer oh god more beatles
I think it is suspicious. Maron and Maddow sucked. We’ve been waiting all this time for the ‘funny’ and the Bono limo joke was about as unfunny as the old Radio Theater. Maddows fake laugh. Bottom line is, Maron ain’t no Hollywood reporter.:fustrate:
The Ed Sullivan Show! Stop playing it. What happened to Dylan? I thought you worshipped him, Springer.
im going to sleep later people:yawn:
Fuck JFK. He was no savior. Neither were the cash cow beatles. Shutup, Springer!:fu:
:yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn:
i was bothered when i first found out that marc would be reporting on the grammys, but i thought it was just a way to promote his new show.
now i can’t help but wonder, what, exactly, was that all about?
The Singing Nun made more than one record, Springer.
:nod:hey does anybody have any ginsberg mp3s?
Right! What was Maron at the Grammies all about:?:
I thought at first that Maron went there on his own. It was as an AAR reporter.
GoldBrick! All hail!
Didnt Riley’s email say the 13th?
Why wouldnt they promom this show if they have a date and time?
someting is screwed up.
Serge Gainsbourge?
Allen Ginsberg?:omg:
kristapea…backstage? I heard Maron say they were so far from backstage they went home and watched it on TV. Face it, we’ve been hoodwinked. Maron’s report sucked.:40:
DG is still fucking with Marc. Marc is like a little play thing for him.
oh hell! Time to kill myself!:omg:
I think this is a good thing for Marc to do…like anything it requires a certain set of skills that he needs to work on. I think that we expect so much of him because they were in such a groove when MS ended…remember, it didnt start out in that groove. Lets let him try out different things and expand his career as much as possible. Hes only once done that GMA TV thing begore and he did pretty good on that!
We cant all be joan rivers…ugh!
NickiRose – so you remember the singing nun too, eh? i’m not so sure that i would have confessed to that myself.
by the way, i’ve been wondering for a while now but never had the nerve to ask: why is it that you actually listen to springer?
Given the fact that Maddow had already given a complete Grammy report an hour earlier, what the hell was the point? It kinda sounded like a set up to make Maron look like a dumbass! It all sounded uncomfortable…Maron shouldn’t have to do Grammy reports. That’s Sooo against what Marc represents! :fu:Goldberg!
I’ll bet Maron comes back and is outrageously funny! Everybody has a bad outing once in a while.:rofl2:
Sean, I sent you one last file. Rage with Chuck D. Let me know if received. Send more tomorrow if wanted…
Yeah, exactly Jason. You hit it right. Maron said he is aganist stuff like that. That’s what makes it even more outrageous. Marc Maron and Awards shows? Today he even acted like he loves the music industry after all he used to say about DG!
Springer brought up the Singing Nun on his discussion of the British Invasion.
I went through a phase a couple of years ago of studying the lives of nuns in the 1960s–and later–who challenged the confines of their religious lifestyle. Even did an art show where I made several paintings of nuns.
… the air in L.A. is eating his brain and he just doesn’t know it.

:nod::nod::nod:
I leave the stream going. Anyway, I am not totally against Springer on the Radio. Why, do you like Tyger Thom?
So. Does everyone see Goldberg’s imprimatur on Maron’s grammy episode? Is that the consensus?
:omg:
187734Jerry
No, I think he was set up to do a stupid Grammy report and that’s exactly what happened. A stupid Grammy news report. I bet he didn’t even go, if he did, okay. It was still a stupid idea and it was represented in that way…
:fu: Goldberg….
Time to go!:nixon:
I’m outta here folks! Sean, I hope you got all the downloads. Will send some more if wanted! :fire:
Long live the Rage! 😡
fuck tyger thom 👿
It was stupid. But it wasn’t that bad. Not a street cred killer. Or was it?
:bow:goldbog.
Does Tyger Thom play in Buffalo?
:yawn:night jason got em all thx
nope not that i know of but uh im never there i just cant stand him on my xm on sat and sun morning
“GRRRRRRRRRR MOTHERFUCKING FRIGGIN FRAGGIN”
:growl:where did everybody go?:paranoid:
:priest:is there a funeral or something?
is there a funeral or something?
Comment by SeanMS — February 9, 2006 @ 10:29 am
Yeah, the funeral for the prospect of a new Marc Maron show.
:omg::omg::omg::omg::omg:
dont say such a thing:!:
i thought maron was in a dream diary and rachael just didn’t get it…of course it was stupid, it seemed marc poked fun at the whole idiotic thing; stupid is as stupid does.
i’m royaly pissed about his show. :fu:
FYI —
Heard from Mark Riley again today. He recognizes that most of us do not connect with his NYC-centric program. If some of us could keep him informed as to what is happening outside of Metropolis and the northeast he might be able to inform the rest of the country about the good and the bad. Anybody up for that?
Sorry, I just can’t resist.
I wonder if Horton heard this:
Thanks for the info regarding Mark, NC. I don’t know what I can do from here in Japan. I guess I can call in on Monday morning. I mean c’mon, he’s on the air from 5 to 7 in the morning…GET RID OF SPRINGER!
did you read the spiral staircase by karen armstrong? i really enjoyed that book.
that’s interesting riley is open to receiving stuff, nc….
My, you’ve all been busy while I was gone. I haven’t gotten to Marc on TRMS, but it doesn’t sound like it answered any questions about the new show. So, will we have it to listen to come Monday? It sure seems like it would get mentioned if it was.
Bummer.
As for Mark, I hope everybody keeps in mind that the type of show he’s being asked to do may not be the type of show that appeals to MS fans. It’s a different type of show, that hopefully will find its own audience.
I think DG is trying to DLC’ify AAR. He’s taking a Ginsu steak knife, and grinding it down into a spork.
MS was something really special – it got better every day, and they were really putting together one hell of a fine damn show by the time DG killed it. That’s what makes it so goddamn frustrating. :growl:
Spork!
Now there’s a word I haven’t heard in a long time. A long, long time.
Email to Bill O’Reilly. Just because.
Olliphant is giving us insight into machiavellian double-speak.
:fu:Cheney.
“The tricki is, you never answer the question…” You spin, divert. :rant1:
I email Riley sometimes. I like his show, anyway. There is more than one convenience store in downtown Portland that plays his show.
Shout out to Marvin at Petersons on 10th and Morrison.
@?A¬on a grammy over Franken and others! Beyond that, I am suspicious of Obama. I have the feeling that he is a boll weevil dem who would sell the people out as ready as Byrd does.
Grammys are about as impressive as Nobel Prizes in economics. Have you ever noticed the philosophy of those economists who win? School of Chicago types. Enablers of neocons. Jesus H.
:jesus:
Don’t know what possessed me, exactly, but I did another one of those Yahoo! searches for the following words:
I got 109 MILLION hits! That’ll give ’em something to notice when they review Yahoo!’s records. (Well, probably not. But still, I cannot even tell you how happy it made me to see that.)
Just got Marc’s CD in the mail–can’t wait to listen to it!
Grammy for Maron next year!
Damn! I ordered “Not Sold Out” to go along with “Tickets Still Available,” and was very excited when another package from Marc just arrived in the mail. But he sent me another copy of “Tickets” instead! Bummer; I was looking forward to listening to it. Well, I guess somebody will be getting Maron as a gift for some occasion or other.
“It’s Not Enough to Criticize the President’s Policies”
By Cindy Sheehan
t r u t h o u t | Statement
Thursday 09 February 2006
Remarks as prepared for delivery.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone for coming today, and send out to my daughter, Carly, a big Happy Birthday. She is 25 today. She is now older than Casey was when he was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004.
I would also like to thank everyone from all over the world who has sent me emails of support and encouragement to consider a challenge to Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat. I literally got hundreds of emails. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and love.
During the Vietnam War, Senator George McGovern stated the following on the Senate floor in September of 1970:
“Every senator in this chamber is partly responsible for sending 50,000 young Americans to an early grave. This chamber reeks of blood … It does not take any courage at all for a congressman, or a senator, or a president to wrap himself in the flag and say we are staying in Vietnam, because it is not our blood that is being shed. But we are responsible for those young men and their lives and their hopes.”
The lack of courage of America’s present Senate is partially responsible for my son’s death and the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people. Dianne Feinstein is one of the senators who expediently gave her Constitutional obligation to George Bush to invade an innocent country. Dianne Feinstein continues to vote to give George Bush more money to fund what she calls a “mistake.” George Bush has been proven to be irresponsible with our young people’s lives and with our tax dollars, but the senator keeps giving him more money and more power to prolong the murder and mayhem in Iraq.
I am standing here today to say “enough.” It is not enough to “criticize” the President’s policies while you are handing him more money to fund his policies. It is like giving an addict more money to purchase drugs when you would like him http://www.or her to quit. . .
truthout.org
Ha. Do a Google for moron AND asshole AND fuckwad AND shit AND idiot AND “George W Bush” and you still get 229 hits!

The Right Wing Press
How Conservatives Went Crazy
By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS
What happened to a formerly conservative press to reduce it to political partisanship and warmongering? Specifically, I have in mind National Review and the Wall Street Journal editorial page.
When I was associated with National Review, the magazine understood that the US Constitution and civil liberty had to be protected from government. It was not considered unpatriotic to take the side of the Constitution and civil liberty against a sitting government, even if the government were Republican. Some things were still more important than party loyalty.
No more. Consider, for example, Byron York writing in the February 13 issue. York doesn’t understand why former US Representative Bob Barr lent his Republican conservative credentials to former Vice President Al Gore’s speech against President Bush’s transgressions against law and civil liberty, or why Barr is associating with liberals opposing the “Patriot” Act.
Barr is the former Republican member of the House of Representatives who led the impeachment against President Bill Clinton. Barr did so not out of political partisanship. As a former prosecutor, Barr regards lying under oath to be a serious offense. A president who commits that offense must be held accountable. Otherwise, presidents will go on to lie about greater things–such as war.
In opposing Bush’s transgressions, Barr is simply being consistent. For Barr, party loyalty takes a backseat to defense of the Constitution, the rule of law, and civil liberty. If the US had more leaders of Barr’s caliber, Bush and Cheney would already have been impeached.
York cannot understand this, because he thinks party loyalty and defense against terrorists are the controlling virtues. York scolds Barr for letting himself be used by partisan liberal organizations, but York takes his own partisanship for granted. It is only the other side that is partisan.

I am listening to the Maron report on the Grammys. It’s not that bad. He started by riffing on an adventure with musicians. Wasn’t all that funny, but that sort of thing happens all of the time to comedians. Not bad, though. Sometimes Groucho was off, too.
Kerry is on Ed Schultz now. He is giving a good critique of the Right Wing media. “They have a much bigger megaphone.” “Katrina has damaged the administration.”
Church of England Votes to Divest from Israel
By WILL YOUMANS
On Monday, February 6th, the Anglican Church of England voted to end financial investments in companies supporting Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories. The General Synod, a policy-making assembly, overwhelmingly backed the call by the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem to divest from “companies profiting from the illegal occupation … until they change their policies.”
One of the companies identified as a target includes Caterpillar Inc., the American manufacturer that produces the bulldozers Israel uses to build the West Bank separation wall. Israel also uses them to demolish Palestinian homes–since 1967, Israel has demolished 12,000 Palestinian homes, leaving 70,000 homeless.
The Anglicans invest about 2.5 million pounds in Caterpillar. The move to divest follows months of negotiations with the company about Israel’s use of their equipment.
Caterpillar insists publicly it does not provide the militarily-modified bulldozers directly to Israel. It claims the US military sells them to Israel, a possible violation of the US Foreign Arms Export Control Act of 1976. This law limits the use of US weapons against civilian populations.

Why did you support the Iraq war, Kerry? That’s why you lost. That, and the voting machines.
A few years ago, I would have thought the BlackBox stuff was tin foil hat. Too many respectable people think that something is up.

And so do many of US! :rofl2:
Earlier this week, when I posted that I bet Marc wouldn’t be able to fill us in on his show this morning, I was really hoping to be proven wrong. It sucks to be right sometimes.
Unless you mean right vs. left. Then it sucks to be right ALL THE TIME!!!
KELLY CLARKSON!!!
MARC MARON!!!
IMPEACHMENT!!!
VIGILANCE!!!
:fire::fire::fire:
Howdy, blog sibs.
Yeah, I had the same thought about Maron’s bit, NickyRose. It wasn’t funny and it was obvious he was feeling it slip away from him after a few minutes. You have to remember, it was 5:30 in the damn morning for Marc. And he’d been out late the night before. He’s not as young as he was back in the days when three hours sleep and a pot of coffee and some pills would bring him back to full performance capability. Plus it did sound like something that could have been funny. I think he had a rough idea where he was going with it and realized it wasn’t working, then had to extricate himself. Given the situation, he did it really well.
I think his description of the press room was accurate, albeit sarcastic.
The way he and Rachel danced around the idea that she’d taken over what was essentially his job was a little stilted, though.
Jeez, guys, I’m also a Maron fan, but I thought the piece this morning came off basically at face value. Maybe my mind was so flooded with endorphins at the sound of his voice, I didn’t notice it was unfunny.
But I’m in the music business and was once a journalist, and yeah,it’s true that media is actually in the nosebleed seats a lot. It’s not getting on the tour bus like in “Almost Famous.”
It did sound to me like a Dream Diary.
i am not quite sure how i got there, but the aar website offers marc as a premium, and gives no date but mentions his new show will be archived…i think we are going to have to wait beyond feb 13….what the hell are they doing?????
Spork? to that I say:
SPOON!
(If you understand that you are Worthy. :priest:)
You know, Methaz, I was wondering how anyone could get away with calling Danny-pants “The Tick.” I mean, it would be one thing if he were a good guy. But Danny-pants is more like The Heys or The Terror and the Man Eating Cow.
Onward to the Comet Club, my friend!

sure i put him on my top 8 too:rofl2:
We need to kick-start the anti-war movement. I like the World Can’t Wait people. Out in the streets. Drive out the Bush Regime.
Hey everybody!
I just got in and had to blog a little because I saw a brilliant Barney frank on Chris Matthews…and I drove around today listneing to Rachel and then Al from yesterday…and then the past two nights of Sam and then Jeaneane…
Anyway, I havent read up on the blog here but I wanted to say…because its been burnign a hole in my pocket since I heard it….That I thought the thing with Marc was FINE…I was happy to hear him and I didnt really think that Rachel was strange or that he was pressed or anything. I thought he was charming and clever…it was just like him and he did a little bit of dream diary for those of us in the know.
I think that some here might be blowing this up out of proportion and trying to read into what was really just a little spot in a long show.
I thought it was gonna be really bad…but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I wasnt even cringing…and, honestly, I have cringed at some of the stuff hes done that hasnt worked along the way.
Anyway, Ive got to throw some chicken in the oven and read the rest of today…I expect that I may be the only one who feels this way…PJ did you hear it yet? Maybe the Replay was better than the live feed…;-)
Dem’s don’t fight this bunch for the same reason conservatives don’t: they are too afraid of loosing what little power and influence they have.
Or, as The Tick would say:
When you get in bed with evil incarnate, it always takes the covers.
and
Investing in something that you are trying to wipe off the face of the earth isn’t good business.
Gypsy – I knew there would be Tick fans about!

Presidork makes up Terrorist attack
LOS ANGELES – Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said Thursday he was blindsided by President Bush’s announcement of new details on a purported 2002 hijacking plot aimed at a downtown skyscraper, and described communication with the White House as “nonexistent.” “I’m amazed that the president would make this (announcement) on national TV and not inform us of these details through the appropriate channels,” the mayor told The Associated Press. “I don’t expect a call from the president — but somebody.”

One would think the mayor of the city that was supposed to be attacked would know about it wouldn’t you ??
when did he become mayor?
Sean: Do like rabbits as pets, dinner or being a trucker perhaps targets ??
I have to tell you: I got a lot of work done on my art zine today. But before I put it together I must write a eulogy or something for a young artist in the community whose life was cut short after she was struck by a moving vehicle.
hey nicki do you accept stuff from bloggers for it i got some stuff i can send you
Are the Dems doing anything “formally” to prevent the BlackBox stuff from stealing elections? I doubt it. They fear masses in action more than they do continued Republican control of the government.
:fu:Corporations!
Baba O’Riley!:omg:
Antonio Villaraigosa was elected mayor of LA in 2005. I would think his predecessor would have a file folder or something laying around about a terrorist attack on his city though …
what kind of art do you put in it?
I’ll have to send you a copy so you can get an idea of what the zine is all about.
:fu:Keep killer corporations out of education!”:omg:
Oh, just something I’ve been trying to get to work correctly, but it doesn’t want to play nice. Hopefully it won’t cause any more problems.
ok i didnt think he was mayor then just checking:paranoid:
http://www.buffalobeast.com/92/reader.htm funny funny reverse imperialism read it
Now, THIS is what makes me laugh….
Honestly, Riley is so lazy! We are supposed to send him stories? Do they have NO writers? I know they have producers and great office people working there…Rachel is in reading the news and writing her show at 3AM…and Marc was in early also. Riley often obviously doesnt know the details of what hes talkign about or who he is interviewing.
If this show fials it will be because Riley didnt give it direction and make it interesting.
Im in the NYC area and I find it boring…thats not because I want to hear whats happening in other towns or because of how the stories are about this town…its because Riley tells the same stories with less details and knowledge unless its something that he was intimatly involved with along the way. I dont see him doing much more than reading the news in a very slipshod sort of way…and I grew tired of it really quickly. I wold prefer to hear Curtis and Kuby fight…at least there is soem chemistry there and they know about stuff.
I learn so much from Rachel’s show every day and I used to learn alot form Marc…From Riley? Nothing…Its just so-so. Im just as happy watching recipes on the Today show…
Meantime, I really think that we are gonna see Marc’s show on the 13th. Its so funny reading this day because everyone had such high expectations but people were not in good moods today for some reason and that was contagious…and in went through the crowd like wildfire…
I cant believe that *I* sound like the vocie of reason, when I am the one who looks on the dark side of things…Ha!
I think this thing is gonna be OK….I really do….maybe its the bullseye BBQ sauce talking…it is the perfect food afterall…
If the ratings for mornings tank then hopefully DG will be out of a job and we will start to get AAR back..if not…well, we will have replay and will have to piece things together best as we can.
Some state governments that have dem party control or changed party control from Rethug to dem in 2004 have moved to get electronic voting machines with a paper trail but I recently saw an article that said 80% of the voters in the US would be voting on new equipment in 2006. The M$M is already beginning to say that the rethugs will win the 2006 election because the voters don’t see the dems with any better ideas than the rethugs so they are setting it up to be stolen again..
I still think that people expecting an election to do something about this rethug infestation should FORGETABOUTIT.
Yeah, I heard it. It wasn’t the funniest bit I’ve ever heard, but it wasn’t terrible. He had to pull some kind of a “report” out, because Mr. Hotshot Music Industry Insider couldn’t get “his” network a backstage pass.
To tell you the truth, I would have preferred to hear him talk about Gonzalez, or the SOTU, or the NSA wiretapping. But, you take what you can get, and it was good to hear him – he sounds good. It would be nice to hear him on with Riley again; Marc will just have to stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning one of these nights, and call in.
I really – really – had hoped to hear something about the show, though. This, “my sources tell me it’s coming ‘soon'” just doesn’t cut it.
oh those friggin fox news guys they would be so funny if the republicans were in our position! anyway this amused me aliens attack!
So the MSM is running the propagaanda that the dems won’t do well in ’06? That would serve their purposes, I guess. They don’t think they could make hay through the destruction of the Bush Administration by courts of law.+
gypsy, methaz – i called danny “the tick” because “dani” is the japanese word for “tick”. it’s also british slang for a contemptable person. i guess being misunderstood is what i get for rehashing previously posted material. i’ll chalk it up to yet another ill-fated attempt at humor.
in trying to figure out what you guys were talking about, i found out that “the tick” is a superhero. i had no idea. i guess i really have been in japan too long.
well, i walked into my first cross-cultural mishap of the day and it’s only 9:30 in the morniing. i have a feeling this is gonna be another long one.
I’ll bet that the M$M was running interference for Reagan in ’78 or so. Hey. Good idea for a research project.
:omg:
CAP Alito!
Janeane is ranting about that crypto Nazi Reagan.
I don’t think Marc wants to talk about crap like the Grammy’s. He doesn’t even like most of that stuff. If he would want to talk about music it would be something like South By Southwest or individual musicians or even an event like Sundance. Plus it sounded like a fucked up situation that didn’t get him anywhere near anything. I wonder if he had to dress up.:rofl2:
lol thats pretty funny tom:rofl2:
Our glorious leader and his illegal spying have saved us all from the attack of the shoe bombers! :omg: Sieg Heil, das Bush!
Eh, Library, Liberty, what’s the difference? :jerk: We’re gonna do away with both of them soon enough, anyway.
i wonder if he will get to do the oscars? :rofl2:
:love:of course tim robbins would probably hook him up with some real access there
Jill Pike is gonna be on Scarborough Country tonight.
PJ, Melina–
I’m with you on Maron’s spot this morning. It was great to hear him, just not great to hear him talking about stuff we know he doesn’t really care about. I half expected him to rehash that old dream diary about joining U2 . . . they replayed it toward the end of MS.
Oops! Now even the head of Israel’s domestic security agency says we fucked up in Iraq.
Hah. From the press gaggle with Snotty McFelon today:
:rofl2:
Helen Thomas was great, as usual:

The link to LEJO is currently busticated, and although The Wayback Machine “has” archives, the only content is on their homepage, and only one eyeball at that. Flash stuff does not usually survive Waybackupping. I even yelled SPOOOOON at it to no avail. (El Seed was one of my favorite episodes but the killer moustache was worth waking up early on Saturday.)
hey boobies:shock:
uh PJ i cant edit to get rid of it so uh yeah :paranoid:
tom t, no prob. But Tick fans are weird people. And I say that with pride.
Gotta go watch “The Daily Show” now. Shhh…don’t tell Marc.
Oh Yeah! Spoon! I knew I knew that. I have a Seinfeldt/Elaine type friendship with an ex that used to force me to watch cartoons til the weeeee hours of the morning.
i love elaine:love:
so i had a little tiff on myspace with a warmonger heres the end of it for now……
I guess you were too gay for the navy. Anyhow good luck wasting your time bitching about the war. You are getting nowhere.
hmm well hopefully if i cant get anywhere i will at least get to see your little peanut head explode on cnn like a watermelon dropped out of a ten story building good luck warmonger!!!!!
I just got to read the blog, and wow, I was surprised at the reaction to marc’s bit today. I’m in the melina/pj camp. I actually smiled during his little dream diary-esque bit; it wasn’t laugh out loud, edgy stuff, but come one; it was a fluff assignment. it was just so great to hear this voice :bow::bow: I thought rachel sounded a little taken aback to hear such non-factual stuff–maybe she’s not too familiar with Dream Diaries–and that sort of made me smile, too. he always keeps people off kilter.
but it was clear that he wasn’t too pleased about the lack of info, and promotion of his show. this is getting really ridiculous. hear we go again…..:growl::growl::growl:
……on our ownnnnnn going down the only road weve ever knowwwwwwwn oh gee i got carried away man sorry
:rofl2:
Oh, hell yes, Rachel didn’t know what to make of Marc. I don’t think she had any idea what his comedy is like. But Marc didn’t sound happy with the bit. I suspect his unhappiness at being jacked around by AAR played into it, though.
Going to bed now. Well, once the chocolate cake is done. (Don’t you all wish YOU were going to a crafty potluck tomorrow night?)
Mexican Chocolate Cake

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water

3. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
:tongue:oooh i want a potluck!!!!!
oooh oooh i have a recipe go to grocery store buy soft batch cookies thats about the extent of my truck stop cooking : D
where are you gypsy? you have to bring me food when i come to where you are!
 Marc is constantly shortchanged by Danny :spank:
Marc improved a lot on political humor with MS. A fact lost on the idiotic brain of Danny. His bit today was fun albeit not as funny as the best of MS bits. Given that it was too early for him and awards are not his cup of coffee, one can understand.
Again all this is ok, but when is his show starting to air Danny :mad::mad: ?
:eek:almost an hour with no comments sacrilege!:fire:
i’ve been skimming, but whats all this stuff about Marc not plugging his show on TRMS?
:paranoid:oh i knew you were out there skimming secret agent man yeah he mentioned his show but no info on it at all this is friggin driving me nuts i need info damn it:rant1:
i do too. I am afraid his show is not the way he wants it so it might not be as good as it possibly could. Did he mention how long its gonna be? I’m holding out hope for like an hour on AAR, and like an extra 2 on the podcasts. One can hope. . ..
im assuming like an hour a day? i dont know though im also assuming its in the evening and pre-taped but you know what they say about assuming why dont you just ask your contacts at the bearau?
haha- naa i can’t blow my cover and let them know I listen to AAR.
oh i figured that was your assignment watch the liberals and infiltrate their blogs:paranoid:
nahh. im one of the good guys. My name is FBIHOP cause thats the name of my blog- though its just a random combination of letters. Alright Sean, nice talking to you, i need to sleep before my 16 hour work day.
:paranoid:16 hours of spying on people!!!!! i get it its just fun to mess with ya about it sleep well homie
hey buddies, what’s up?
i haven’t been online for over a week,so i missed thursday morning’s thing. i heard the mm plugs on riley’s show but never heard the teaser played on rachel’s. so it was good to hear that she’s helping him do promo also.
no worries buddies, marc’s style in comedy can be kind of messy, like jazz or blues musicians who noodle around for awhile, trying different combinations of notes until they work their way into a groove. his comedic imagination seems to blossom as the leader of his very own comedy band. (i love it when he talks shop with other comedians, too.) i’m sure he’s tearing his hair out over the new show…remember in “Left of the Dial” how hyper he was, riley was certainly the calming element and the original producer, Larson (i never did manage to catch what the story was with that turnover…)
Anyway, i’m psyched, i can’t (figuratively) wait. literally, i’ll wait however long it takes.
And i’m crushed, he liked Maronation apparently better than my favorite of several names i suggested: Marc Maron’s Alien Nation.
yours in BSOM Buddyhood (Brothers and Sisters of the
Order of Marc Maron)
left of the dial is coming out on DVD this month yay
Hey, give me a question that will stump someone? Any question? C’mon Sean
nevermind, too late:doh:
oh oh i have one is it possible to stump someone on the internet? i mean wikipedia has pretty much stopped people from being stumpable with an internet connection
go read my blog everybody
:peace:anywho i am out of here i must drive 200 miles and 8 hours to do it so uh ok then later peoples good luck on getting stumped:doh: travis
:spank:i offended someone on myspace by using the word nigga when i was quoting a snoop dogg song some people im telling ya
alrighty, If you insist. Damn, I’m tired
I’ll blog you sheeple some other time.
Oh, I managed to figure out a way to have sound. So I was able to hear Malloy on your page, sean. Cool:santacool:
