It was nice to hear from Marc again (so soon; he’s really getting the hang of this stuff, I think). Sorry to hear about his cat, though, but cats are pretty good at going away for days and days and then coming back and sleeping for a week, so hopefully his will be OK. And, we’ll hopefully get an official start date for the show. I’ll have to set up my ReplayAV to make sure I don’t miss anything.
Update: E-mail from Marc.
This is ridiculous. It’s just like the old days–on and on about the cats. Thanks for all your concern. LaFonda returned just as my marraige was at the brink of disintegrating because of her disappearance. Of course, I blamed Mishna for telling me it was okay to let all the cats out because they’re animals and it would be nice if they could all go to the bathroom outside. So, after much fighting, panic and the surfacing of all things irritating about our marriage the cat just saunters in around 2Pm the day after she split–saving the marriage (I’m exagerrating). She seems wiser, less skittish, perhaps she met a man cat out there. Meanwhile, Monkey, LaFonda’s male feral companion from the Astoria bunch is acting like he doesn’t know her which leads me to believe the scent of another is on her. It’s been rough for the Monkey. My wife’s nasty male dirt cat, Boomer, who we adopted to keep the now dead Butch company has been making life miserable for the Monkey. With LaFonda out sleeping around I can only assume his masculinity is fractured and I’m going to have to be supportive and keep his self esteem intact maybe bring him to some meetings. Good news–they are all accounted for.
Its best I get this stuff out of the way so I can talk about the important things when the show launches. As always, it’s so hard to separate my important from our important.
I hope you all don’t mind that we’re going to be leaning heavy on the funny for the new show. It’ll be a two hour show and we’ve already got some great comics lined up to hang out the first week.
No more from me until the “official” announcement in the next few days. I’m off to the port of Los Angeles to keep an eye on things. At least I trust me with the job. I just hope the night vision thingy on my old high eight camera works. Footage forthcoming.
Maron
Good Morning Everyone,
Is it my browser or are the streaming links missing from the AAR website?
What the fuck!:rant1::rant1:
No streaming; I’m gettin’ another beer
You know, tonight wasn’t suppossed to be like this man. I was listening to the last morning sedition and havin’ a drink. No, this isn’t right. The Cosmos is tilted or something.
Andy, you fooled me, man! There’s tunes! and it’s free!
I’m still having that beer, though
looks like they’re re-vamping the site….can’t even reach Rachel’s blog from yesterday. 😡
IS it me, or does that new format look horrible? The print or whatever you call it on the net, is so tiny. Who the hell can read that?:rant1: Letters are overlapin’:billcat:
AAR Bah HumBug. 😡 No more pictures of “folk”.

iT’S NOT THE BOOZE. tHE LETTERS WERE REALLY ALL OVER EACHOTHER! SMOOCHIN’ IT!:40:
it seems fixed now, but it’s still too small!
Travis,
Where? I still don’t see a link for the streams.
This is the URL to use to reach the stream directly. One doesnt need to go to the AAR site to open the new window to listen to the stream.
Note that clicking on the URL will open RealPlayer if its not already running and the stream will start playing. I prefer to add the stream in the Favorites section in RealPlayer.
Go to Rileys site and on the upper left hand side there is a thing that says listen live. It’s pretty tiny, but you’ll see, I think.
Right next to shows
I found it. I was looking for the big easy to find buttons. Stupid me.
Of course if one is using the RealPlayer to listen to the stream
I hope in the future people think of me as a strategic thinker:shock::40:
The machine just ate my last post:growl:
And this is the URL for Windows Media Player.
Thanks hchaddha
You know what? I think I’ll get another. Yeah
No, I don’t know. I just pulled it out of the fridge. But I’m feelin’ kinda drunk. Yeah, ahhhh, no. Man, I don’t know.:???:
1 866 303 2270 is that right? I think so.
I can type, so that’s a good sign. I think I’m goin’ for it :40: Unless of you sheeple have any contentions with it?
dear strategic thinker,
i can’t see anything on the aar mornings page that will link to blogs. when it first loads, i see it for a flash and then there’s a big blue box. i’m using safari.
do i have to adjust my text size? hope not just for one web site?
I hate these, whatchyama call it? PAs
I know, it’s a horrible design. Old people can’t deal with the small text. What were they thinkin’? Maybe they were on the juice. Why the hell did Maron leave, that was messed up.
it’s like it’s an ad or something blocking the page and i see terms and conditions but no links… what is going on with their site?
but i’m not even getting small text
Somebody get Crimmy on the phone.
Oh, it’s open:40:
I’m sorry Farmerkat. I don’t know what the deal is. It’s crooked though
the only show that’s not loading right is aar mornings. guess i’m not meant to go there.
Everyone who is drunk, raise your hand:fist:
Guess I’m alone on that one. Oh, well, I’m a strategic thinkert, hough, when all is said and done.
Strategic thinker? He has to get to THINKER first. :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
Back to work. Bummer. Hope Maron’s cat returns.

Hey, sean, remember when that guy said you could stream the maron show on monday, like last week or two mondays ago, or somethin’. Yeah, so that was a load of bs on a dish made out of crap. :barf:
I’m sorry, I ruined the mood. Here read this

I have to take my dog out. So, regrettably, I have to retract my last post
I’m out peace it:peace:
This is what John Crimmings had to say on Mark Riley’s Blog. BTW, Riley’s blog looks good, I think I’ll start tuning in again.
Maybe it’s me, but the AAR site doesn’t look any different at all . . .
:billcat:I know, they’re screwin’ with me
Ok, I’m too messed up. later
Good Morning. I wonder if it was one of the NY cats that ran off.
Where is everyone?
:shock:I remember way too much information about Marc’s cats. But, he said the orange cat “monkey” went to LA with his wife. And, he gave one of the two remaining cats away to someone who lives in NY state, but I can’t remember if that was the black and white cat he called La Fonda. Anyway, sad 😥
:omg:
:rofl2:
The kitty cat may still come back. I had a cat that would just go away for a couple of days or weeks. Maybe someone is feeding it. It’ sounds like the cats are let out.
Hey Kristapea 🙂
Why is Riley starting his show with things like”Good Morning, you communists,” or “Morning lefties.” Has he been reading this blog regularly?
:omg::rofl2:
The big listen button is back.
Hey Andy
Who wants to play plushies?:omg:
Well I must go. Catch everyone later!

Bye everyone!:omg:
I have to say, I really love the Pet Story noise. It’s fuzzy!
A Chilling Heartlessness
As Israel’s Hamas Team Laughs
By GIDEON LEVY
The Hamas team had not laughed so much in a long time. The team, headed by the prime minister’s advisor Dov Weissglas and including the Israel Defense Forces chief of staff, the director of the Shin Bet and senior generals and officials, convened for a discussion with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on ways to respond to the Hamas election victory. Everyone agreed on the need to impose an economic siege on the Palestinian Authority, and Weissglas, as usual, provided the punch line: “It’s like an appointment with a dietician. The Palestinians will get a lot thinner, but won’t die,” the advisor joked, and the participants reportedly rolled with laughter. And, indeed, why not break into laughter and relax when hearing such a successful joke? If Weissglas tells the joke to his friend Condoleezza Rice, she would surely laugh too.
But Weissglas’ wisecrack was in particularly poor taste. Like the thunder of laughter it elicited, it again revealed the extent to which Israel’s intoxication with power drives it crazy and completely distorts its morality. With a single joke, the successful attorney and hedonist from Lilenblum Street, Tel Aviv demonstrated the chilling heartlessness that has spread throughout the top echelon of Israel’s society and politics. While masses of Palestinians are living in inhumane conditions, with horrifying levels of unemployment and poverty that are unknown in Israel, humiliated and incarcerated under our responsibility and culpability, the top military and political brass share a hearty laugh a moment before deciding to impose an economic siege that will be even more brutal than the one until now.
The proposal to put hungry people on a diet is accepted here without shock, without public criticism; even if only said in jest, it is incomparably worse than the Danish caricature. It reflects a widespread mood that will usher in cruel, practical measures. If until now one could argue that Israel primarily demonstrated insensitivity to the suffering of the other and closed its eyes (especially the stronger classes, busy with their lives of plenty) while a complete nation was groaning only a few kilometers away, now Israel is also making jokes at the expense of the other’s suffering. . .

So what did AAR do to their web site ?? It doesn’t look any different at the moment than it did yesterday.
I get this feeling that a big bear ( think large red star or a white star on a red background or both) is going to come to Hamas’s aide shortly. They would much rather be friends with 1.6 billion people than hated by them as much as a certain 300 million are.
When I moved 2 blocks from temporary residence one of my two cats went missing. She wasn’t even seen in old residence. She was the only one that wasn’t once a stray.
A fellow cat person/animal person said to put in front of the residence cat’s cat-box, leaving a few of it’s droppings — or unclean. Even leaving “a bit of other cats'”, if any. I knew of that idea, but never had to use it. I had been continually calling and walking down (calling) to old residence, to no avail, so I did it. By the night, before dark, she was back and fed and watered and happy.
Good Luck Marc’s Grey and White cat. Come back to your home.

Looks like AAR is moving to Drupal to manage their site content. Or maybe that’s what they’ve been using all along. Notice that if you go to shows.airamericaradio.com/markmaron/ (that is, spell Marc’s name wrong), you go to a page telling you to set up an admin account (unfortunately, it wouldn’t let me log in and set myself up as an admin; too bad). I didn’t catch what they were doing this morning, but I reckon they were playing around with the new setup a bit.
I hope somebody tells them that Marc spells his name with a ‘c.’
By the way, I don’t know about Safari, but you can easily change the font size of a page in both IE and Firefox. Firefox is best – just hold the ctrl key down (probably the command key in Mac, but I don’t have one to try it out on) and use the “+” and “-” keys to make it bigger or small (the font size, that is). You can also (in both IE and Firefox) use the Ctrl ley and your scroll wheel to do the same thing (if you have one). In IE, you may have to tell your browser to override the pages style settings.
Mostly, I use Firefox, thought the IE 7 beta is pretty good, and so is Opera. But the tons of extensions for Firefox just make it so nice to use.
firefox is awesome, i use it at home, and at work we use IE, and i go insane because its not as easy as firefox.

Dear [recipient name was inserted here],
I’m writing to ask you to report on the new study showing the mainstream
media’s right-wing bias, and to urge the media to include more liberal
voices.
A new study by researchers from media matters for america shows that the
“liberal bias” claim by many conservatives is FALSE after all, and reveals
a strong conservative bias in the news content of nearly all major media
outlets. The media must include more liberal voices and provide balanced
coverage. ( Study is located at

Sincerely,

Dance’s Grand Dame
Merce Cunningham may be well into her 80s, but she doesn’t seem to have slowed down any—how many octogenarians can claim to have choreographed a work of dance to the music of such hip artists as Radiohead and Sigur Rós? This month, Cunningham’s company performs three cutting edge pieces: ‘Suite for Five’, ‘Native Green’, and ‘Split Sides’. The latter enlists the audience to help determine how it will be performed. Feb. 25. Tickets are $29 to $51.50. National Arts Centre, Southam Hall, 53 Elgin St., 613-947-7000; 613-755-1111.

“Final Borders” and “Security Zones” Outline Palestinian Bantustan “State”
Israeli Occupation Pursuing Next Stage of Control
by Gabi Becker; February 20, 2006
Escalating Israeli declarations around “final borders” are alarming, particularly in the face of ongoing Occupation pursuits to devour more Palestinian land, control the West Bank, and contain the Palestinian Struggle. Recent announcements, launched during the Herzliya policy conference that ended the day before the Palestinian Legislative Council elections, were not a surprise in the face of the near completion of the Apartheid Wall, confirming Israeli plans to permanently control approximately half the West Bank by imprisoning the majority of Palestinians in walled ghettos. In continuing its current policy and measures, the Occupation seeks to deepen and make official, preferably through negotiations, its de facto annexation of lands between the Wall and the Green Line as well as the Jordan Valley, thus demarcating a Palestinian “state” more accurately referred to as bantustans, ghettos, or reservations.
Already, Palestinians are closed-in/out by the Wall, settlements, bypasses, and checkpoints/terminals all the while the Occupation increases its stronghold in areas outside the Wall—that is, Jerusalem, the “seam zone,” and the Jordan Valley, the latter two Occupation proclaimed “security zones.” Today, the areas between the Wall and the Green Line—the so-called “seam zone”—are de facto annexed, either through their inaccessibility to land owners and farmers, or by the military and court orders that declared them closed or demanding of permits. As the Wall seals the fate of Jerusalem, it also guarantees the annexation of the major settlement blocs of Ma’ale Adumim, Gush Etzion, and Ariel. The Israeli plan is to expand settlements with even greater speed while solidifying the settler linkage between the coast, the Jordan Valley, and Jerusalem, encircling and close-in on the ghettos while targeting Palestinians in the “security zones” with expulsion.
The “zones” are expected to be bases for settlement industries, forcing many Palestinians into cheap labor as the Occupation, once again, seeks to ensure dependency with the ultimate goal of breaking the Palestinian spirit, with the “state’s” sealed “border” acting as the noose around the Struggle’s neck. That is, “security zones” become centers for Occupation brutality and violations, as they represent a huge portion of the West Bank that is closed-off from most Palestinians through gates and checkpoints, where Palestinians going to their lands or villages in these parts are considered “infiltrating” “Israeli-controlled” areas, and where Occupation Forces patrol as they prepare the next attack on the bantustan “state.” Meanwhile, international aid agencies knowingly support this under the banners of “humanitarian aid,” “work for food,” “rule of law,” and “democracy building.”
The Herzliya Conference, attended by the likes of the Occupation’s military generals, “Yesha” council representatives (West Bank and Gaza settlers), Knesset members, government officials, university professors, bank representatives (the list clearly overlapping), US think tanks, members of the US Jewish “community,” and this year’s special guest former US President Carter who stopped by on his way to “observe” the Palestinian Legislative Council elections, all take part in the Conference to make a toast to the past and future of Israeli expansionism. Herzl, the “Founding Father” of Zionism and author of The Jewish State, would be proud. The Herzliya Conference, taking place in Herzl’s namesake settlement of “Herzliya”—built on the destroyed Palestinian village of Abu Kishk—resonates similarities to the World Zionist Congresses, the first of which took place in 1897 in Basel, Switzerland and chaired by Herzl himself. But, unlike the Zionist Congresses that took place in Zionism’s homeland—Europe—this conference takes place after the Palestinian displacement, and this time the plan is not how to establish a Jewish State in Palestine, but how to bring about the final annihilation of Palestine (under the very cynical rhetoric of establishing a “state”)…

Merce Cunningham is well into “his” eighties–and beyond!:omg::rofl2:
Cunningham, Merce (b. 1919)
One of the twentieth-century’s most influential dancers and choreographers, Merce Cunningham is known for his innovations and originality. Adapting the theories of Marcel Duchamp and of his collaborator and partner John Cage, Cunningham pioneered in his use of chance in the creation of dance pieces and in a non-hierarchical approach to movement and staging.
Cunningham was born on April 16, 1919 in Centralia, Washington, the second of three sons of a successful attorney and his wife. He began studying dance at an early age. He attended the University of Washington for a year, then studied at the Cornish School for Performing and Visual Arts in Seattle, where he met composer John Cage, who was working there as an accompanist. The two eventually became life-long companions and artistic collaborators.
Ok. Eighties. 86, to be exact. Anybody been to Centralia? (Wrong gender, Sean.)

Chasing Cheney in the Ambulance
By DAVE LINDORFF
Lost amid all the heavy breathing by the mainstream press reporters who have gotten so worked up over the vice presidential shooting is the story of the vice-presidential ambulance.
How many of us knew that the country’s vice president–a man that most politically aware citizens know is the country’s real leader behind the scenes–is so health-impaired that he always travels with a fully staffed ambulance–including heart specialist–in tow?
This is the real secret, not the 14-hour reporting delay regarding Cheney’s shooting of his hunting buddy, that has been kept from the American people not for hours but for years.
The fact that the nation’s vice president and de-facto leader is so frail and so close to death’s door, while perhaps heartening to some who see him as the architect of the war-mongering madness currently gripping the nation’s policy-making establishment, should surely have been a major topic of conversation during the 2004 election.
But nobody mentioned it…

[…] Bush cannot learn from his mistakes. Bush lacks the intelligence and education to recognize a mistake. His government is filled with ignorant ideologues who believe their own propaganda. The fools are now proceeding to compound their strategic blunders with plans to attack Iran and Syria.
Washington is accustomed to buying what it wants. Whenever Washington wants a country to do its bidding it buys the country’s leaders. This used to work in the Middle East, but no longer. Do you remember the much maligned Yasser Arafat and his Fatah movement?
Arafat was on the American payroll, which made him ineffectual in effectively opposing Israel’s illegal dispossession of the West Bank Palestinians. With Arafat’s death, Washington found an even more compliant Fatah leader to finance. But the Palestinians themselves had had enough. Israel had forced Palestinians into ghettos while the Bush regime cheered on the right-wing Likud Party. In the Palestinian elections, which the Bush regime thought it had bought, the Palestinians gave a resounding victory to Hamas. . .

I just finished reading David G. Dalin’s “The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: How Pope Pius Xll Rescued Jews from the Nazis”. The author does a thorough job of demolishing the charge that Pius did virtually nothing while the nazis murdered Europe’s Jews. In fact, Pius was another Schindler, but on a much grander scale.
Dalin blows it, though, when he “discusses” historical antisemitism by Islam–Jews were second-class–and then exploits the anti-zionist (and Hitler ally) Grand Mufti of Jerusalem to justify Israel’s violent creation. The last part of the book is largely propaganda in service to Israel.
Had he stuck with the” Pope Pius as a great savior of Europe’s Jews,” (Rabbi) Dalin would have had written an important book for our times.
ha the friggin rethugs are gonna have a shit fit over this veto shit this is so friggin amusing
Damn, I wonder if it’s too late to get my wife to sign one of these?
I don’t have time to critique Rabbi Dalin’s writing on Islam as intrinsically anti-semitic. But this short post on wikipedia is a good summary.
Vilifying Palestinians/Arabs/Muslims as “Nazi” or “Nazi-sympathizers” is useful Zionist propaganda because it helps justify the occupation of Palestinian land and oppression of Palestinian people as a form of Holocaust compensation/retribution against the Nazis. Have you seen [this]? Of course, the situation is much more complex. Many Zionists and Jews aided the Nazis. Many Muslims aided the Allies. The Nazi ideology had no place for Arabs or Jews. Many Arabs suffering under British colonial occupation viewed the Germans as potential liberators. Zionist militant groups seeking to establish a Jewish state in Palestine attacked and killed British colonial administrators. Etc etc etc. Very tough to maintain a NPOV on this subject.
Well, that’s the whole purpose of the Wikipedia, no? To let the community find a balance. I have my own views on a topic like this, but the best way to counter propaganda is to provide feedback that is factual, objective and can’t be denied. And yes, it’s tough.–iFaqeer 20:26, Sep 22, 2004 (UTC)
Keith Olbermann is a Gas!!!!:omg::rofl2:
I heard this morning that Rush Limbaugh and Daryn Kagan broke up recently. Maybe he wanted her to sign one of those contracts.
Or maybe she just came to her senses. :barf:
He was upset because Daryn wouldn’t let him use his witchcraft (plus Daryn caught him in bed with Uncle Arthur).
I listened in the car one day to Rush (don’t have xm or aar affiliate) and he was talking about flying over the weekend to see one of his mistresses. I think he even said he was going to Atlanta. So, was Daryn. But, isn’t that odd to refer to someone you are dating as a mistress? 🙄
Not if you’re a loudmouth hillbilly heroin addict, I guess.
Seder had Lawrence Korb on last night to talk about his plan (written with Brian Katulis) It looks like Howard Dean has endorsed it. It may be the plan that Democrats get behind.

It seems to me that if Bush vetos a law blocking the UAE deal that would be an IMPEACHMENT issue everyone, republicans and democrats, could coalesce around.
This UAE/ports thing seems like a loser issue, and not a very smart thing to threaten a veto over. I wonder how much money is in all of this for dubya and his buddies. I wonder if the, um, whattya call those people again, oy, yeah, the MEDIA will do a little investigation and reporting on it?
Oh, goodie: Now I get to be depressed all over again!
Just got an e-mail from Amazon telling me my order had shipped. Since I haven’t placed any orders recently, I was curious–until I saw that it was for “Left of the Dial,” which I ordered so long ago I’d forgotten all about it. When I saw it on HBO, it was so hard to watch the ending, you know, reliving how sad and shocked we all were by the outcome of the election, and Marc played such a role in getting us through that. The consolation, at the time, was that MS would go on and help us do the same.
=sigh=
I saw a link, pj, on huffpo for the port/bush connection:
Randi is interviewing John Dean. I hope she lets him talk!
Not sure I should admit to this, but last night I invented a game: “If I could bust a cap in some mook’s ass (without penalty, of course) . . .”
First on my list: Danny Goldberg.
I don’t know if that’s how you spell mook (I’m not even sure I know exactly what it means), but it’s a nod to Meldrick Lewis. I miss the Trio network, but I gotta say, I’m lovin’ the Homicide reruns on Sleuth. Every time I see Belzer, I think that Maron would’ve fit in great with those guys.
(And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you guys where the “bustin’ a cap in someone’s ass” business came from . . .)

Once again, the Chimp proves that he’s a uniter, not a divider. :fu:
One of the ports in question is the Port of Tampa, which is about 20 miles across Tampa Bay from yours truly. It doesn’t handle as much container traffic as some of the other ports, notably Miami, but the port authority is looking to ramp up their business over the course of the next few years.
Besides, it only takes one container to hold a bomb, regardless of how many are in the port at the time.
One would think that Bush would want to err on the side of caution, since he is supposed to be pro-TECT-ing us, ha ha. Obviously, the operative color here, as always, is green.
It was odd to see Frist and Schumer making a press statement together – talk about your odd couples. Although they do share a love of the spotlight, of course.
At least Bush will get everyone to stop talking about Cheney for a couple of days. Just when I don’t think he can be any more of a horse’s ass, he proves me wrong. He must be stopped.

I think Hartman is right about the problems related to taking back congress in 06. He believes that the rethugs have so totally screwed things up that the US will enter into something similar to the great depression in 2007 and the rethug media will make it look like the dems are at fault.
The lack of concern over the electronic voting machines by most of the politicians is quite disturbing considering how much info is available concerning the red shift phenomium experienced in some 29 states in 2004 where the count diverged from the exit polls in the last hour before the polls closed and the problems just seen in Ohio where the results were off by as much as 15% from a poll done the day before.
I’m lovin’ the Homicide reruns on Sleuth. Every time I see Belzer, I think that Maron would’ve fit in great with those guys.

That was a great show. Maron vs. Munch would be alternately a paranoic’s nightmare and a conspiracist’s delight. Break out the tinfoil hats.

Every time I go over to DU and browse the general discussion there is always a couple on “when are Americans going to wake up ??”. I have to wonder what do they expect to happen, how would they tell that America woke up ?? Its the middle of winter in most Blue states so hundreds of thousands of people suddenly spontaneously appearing in the streets is just not likely to happen. Even when it has happened like at the RNC convention and last September in DC they were pretty much ignored. If a leader came forward how would he communicate with those who might be followers. MSRNC is not likely to carry his call for revolution. PBS is not even likely to do that. I know plenty of pissed off and perplexed liberals and moderates who would help out in a campaign and who might have even purchased a firearm in recent times. Some one suggested that the revolution needs a sponsor so that the protesters can afford to stay in the streets ( if they ever got that far) long enough to make a difference. Hummm… anyone know if Cesar Chavez has email ??
You know, this is just so incredibly stupid. Talk about the type of issue that your basic everyday average person can understand. This isn’t like one of their convoluted, difficult to understand schemes. This is basic. I mean, do they spin this as everybody being racist, maybe?
Imagine if, less than five years after 9/11, President Kerry had wanted to turn the ports over to a nation with ties to the attackers?
Giving the UAE control of the nations ports is like bird huntin’ with Dick Cheney.

Does anybody know about this?

Holy shit, no. I haven’t listened to last night’s show yet. I’ll have to put it on.
Just started it, and Peter Werbe is on; he says Mike, Kathy, and Molly are all on vacation.
Hey, I just heard from Marc that his cat wandered back in later the following day, and is OK, so we can all relax. He says “she’s fine and seems wiser somehow.”
I think that must mean she got laid.
pj, do you think I should edit out my post #133, since it sounds like he was wrong?
Nah, you were just reporting what somebody else said. Besides, maybe something else happens later on in the show. Maybe Mike comes in and then walks off again!
Hey, sheeple, got a couple pix for ya. Just give me a few minutes. I’m still slow with it:doh:
Here’s Anchortown from afar
and here I am, sort of.
Yup, there is a couple more, but I’m too tired.
pj, I would HOPE marc would have had those cats neutered and spayed! (i think I was out of town when he found the cats and didn’t hear the first part of the saga.)
GLAD THE KITTY IS A-OK.
Oh, I just saw the message about Marc’s cat.
farmerkat, as I remember he had all four of his rescued cats plus the mother spayed and neutered.
Sorry to hear about the tragedy regarding mrfarmerkat’s friend. So much sadness in Iraq.
nice eyebrows, Trav!
Yippee! I get to have a glass of wine tonight – been on a medication for 2 weeks and couldn’t drink.
Ciao! The Italian Dionysus calls
thanks isi, he said things are ramping up over there – and not in a good way.
Nice pics Travis! Did you take both of those photos?
2/21/06
I had to talk on the phone, so I was MIA or something
Hey thanks. Yeah, I took the pix myself.

i can’t get into mike’s show. no idea why.
Hey everybody!
Travis- Alaska is so beautiful!…whats up with the partial pic?
God, I hope to God Marc has had those cats fixed…Im sure he has or he would have kittens by now!…or are they all boys? I dont think so somehow…
At least Marc will have alot of material to work with on the new show.
Jon stewart keeps thanking the comedy gods…he was on the Today show today about the Oscars…very funny. This is the first year in a long time I will actually watch the Oscars.
This port thing is so crazy…how could they possibly think that they can decide this and push it through? How can they possibly think this will fly? I think theyve found the tipping point….
Its just too crazy to even imagine that it would be OK to give those ports to anyone…all of this privatization is goign to be the end of us, literally!
I have a feeling that watching this one unfold is gonna be fun. I hope Bush vetos….Go Bush go!! Veto that law! Lets just see what happens…heh hehe heh….
sacrilige mike is great how dare you not like his show:fu:
Honestly, I didn’t feel comfortable with you sheeple lookin’ up my nose. I’m sorry, I just need more time.
Um, anyway, Malloys site seems to work fine and sean I noticed your post. cool, I haven’t posted since Maron left, on the Air America Radio blog.
Ahh, I’ll work on getting that full pic up.
After having both ears cut off, hangovers aren’t so bad.
:growl:ha ha randi attacks nader says “we cant afford you” i remember this ha randi was so mean to ralph
:fustrate::growl::rant1:friggin best buy didnt have left of the dial im friggin pissed
My bet is that the Repubs will work out a Port Deal with Bushco; the Dems will stay on the sidelines. Just like Kansas, Dorothy.
:omg:
Randi was losing the debate with Ralph. “We can’t aafford yalph.”
“You are denying voters a choice…Are you filibustering, Randi.” She did not win any debate. This was one of her worst epidodes. It rank right up with the Patti Smith throwdown.
i think its cause i know what he looks like and what he says doesn’t match with what he says. That may be one theory . . .
One of my favorite Randi moments was when she blew that con Bev Harris out of the water.:omg:
My teeth are fine. I was goin’ for the cool look or something.
Alaskan sunset on Cook Inlet and Anchortown on the water (literally)
I’m all pictured out.
Hey, yes, the cats are all fixed. If you recall there was a nice lady who helped Marc by catching the cats and getting them neutered. This was when they were still living outside, as I recall, and before Marc took them into his place (I might have the timing off).
It was very similar to our house, as we went and captured 4 kittens (two of each) that one of my wife’s patient’s had been feeding. Unfortunately, one had kittens before we could get them taken care of, and then we took in a day old or so whose mother had been killed. Our mommy cat was kind enough to take him in with the rest. Well, we still have the mama, and two of her kids (Ed and Trixie).
yeah it was bad i was surprised to find video of it
hey wait a minute travis looks younger than me how old are you travis?
Umm, that info has been reclassified:nod:
:rofl2:
classified or re-classified?
hey look at the immense number of people at the freeper rally
Umm, well, it was classified. Then a certain time passed and certain information was deemed to be appropriate for declassification. But in this time of war it’s necessary to, once again, classify or more appropriately to reclassify subjects that are…..
Nevermind, you get it…
Tomorrow 9/11 show!:omg:
So, I got a wight wing wacky picture from a Bushie friend of my mom’s and it shows Cheney with with his gun and says “I’d rather go quail hunting with Dick than driving with Ted” :jerk: Is THAT all they GOT?? How old is that story now? Unbelievable.
So, I didn’t get an email from Marc about his cat coming back. I’m pretty sure I didn’t delete it by accident.
Out now! Tennessee Populism!:omg:
I knew his cat would come back

Réseau Voltaire: The Blankfort-Chomsky Polemic
[Hello all, well finally, an article that succinctly addresses what I’ve been trying to articulate about why Chomsky’s stance on Israel/Palestine is one I disagree with and why I take Jeff Blankfort’s side on that question. I urge you to take your time reading this, I think Jeff speaks basic hard truths that American antiwar activists do not, and have historically not, wanted to hear. I say ignore Chomsky’s blind side at your own risk. You’ll probably have to cut and paste boh lines of the url, I have to experiment on my own sometime with tiny-url before I consider using it publicly.Yay on another email from Marc! Well, g’night, I stopped in only to post this article, it knocked me in the head and I had to share it with you all. David Ray Griffin on Malloy tomorrow night! Ex-ny’er]
Excerpts from
http://signs-of-the-times.org/signs/editorials/signs_TheChomskyBlankfortPolemic.php
“The left and the anti-war movement are so focused on blaming everything on US imperialism on one hand, and avoiding the provoking of what they fear will be “anti-Semitism” on the other, that they have gone further from putting any blame on Israel than have elements of the mainstream.”
“A number of friends of mine, who are friends of Chomsky, have come to agree with me. The problem is, I would say, as fellow academics, that they don’t feel comfortable criticizing Chomsky, particularly since he is often attacked by the right wing.”
“He has defended many people who have been under attack and has thus gained their loyalty. He also has been a mentor to a number of academics, and ironically, Chomsky has been the doorway for so many people to become involved in politics. They read Chomsky, and they become excited about political work. And it is only later, if they are fortunate, that they discover that Chomsky not only opens the door, he closes it as well!”
“I have been told by political activists that to talk about the lobby is not Marxist, or talk about the lobby is not socialist. ”
“Regarding Iran, Chomsky and the others seem to be ignoring the campaign that the lobby is waging to get us into another war, one that will be far more catastrophic than the disaster that has taken place in Iraq. There is a coalition of the 12 leading Jewish women’s organizations, representing a million Jewish women, calling itself “One Voice for Israel,” that formed in 2002 in response to the bad publicity Israel received over the destruction of Jenin. Each year, in what it calls “Take-5,” it gets it gets it members to call the White House at the same time and then on another day, to do the same to Congress. Each time they have done it, they have tied up the Capitol switchboard. It is one of the ways in which they show their power.”
“This coming February 22nd, they will be phoning President Bush to express their opinion on what he should do about Iran, and its development of nuclear energy or weapons. This a kind of operation that goes on all the time, but it is not even an issue or even known about by the anti-war movement, or by the left, and Professor Chomsky has written to me and others that he is not interested in the issue.”
“I [..] believe that the Palestinians have the priority to decide what happens in Israel and Palestine and that Chomsky is more concerned about the future of Israel and the welfare of Jews. He opposes a one-state solution and I believe single state is the only answer but I don’t argue here [in the U.S. – j.r.] for that because we are not the ones to determine that.”
