After the Colbert weekend, and then yesterday’s codpiece anniversary, today’s a bit of a letdown. I guess I’ll use it to try and get as much of what I’ve got left to do, done, and I’d better take the dog out today, or I think he’ll explode. If I even glance in the direction of his harness, he damn near wiggles himself to pieces. I need to get back to craigslist, too, since the place I thought I had lined up in DC doesn’t seem to be working out, damnit. I wonder what the monthly rate at the Watergate parking garage is, and if they’d let me use a garden hose to clean up with.
:paranoid: A little noise, please!
Hey Travis is number one!
Suzie follows closely with two…:jesus: now where is my morning dose of caffeine…
I know this was gone over a bit yesterday, but I wanted to add my thoughts…last night I caught two show segments which disturbed me regarding the Stephen Colbert thing. Remind me not to watch TV, even to help me fall asleep đ
First: Keith Olbermann talking to Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, and Milbank was going on about how Colbert was out of line and not very funny. I THOUGHT I turned the TV off, but apparently I had left it on and did some other things, then went back in the room and before I could turn it off Joe Scarborough was also saying how Colbert was not funny.
Usually this kind of stuff doesn’t surprise me, but I hadn’t watch much newsy stuff on TV for awhile, so it was like a reawakening for me.
I know the Scarboroughs and other Republican-leaning news people have a red telephone somewhere where orders from on high (or through the mediation of corporations), “yes masters, here to serve you… yes Colbert was frightening and funny and right on, so let’s tell everyone the exact opposite and what to think…”
but does that also work for journalists like Milbank? Do they get direct orders to say these things too? Or payola? Yes, I’m asking stupid questions: answers are all YES, we all know this, don’t laugh at me, but I just need to vent.
Anyway, Colbert was not only funny, I haven’t seen anything so balsy since Jon Stewart made Tucker Carlson look like a buffoon on CNN.
I feel like destroying my TV set right now. I can’t remember the last time I actually felt that way. I’m basically cynical but sometimes when I free myself from the machine and then I go back inside it’s painful đ
I need to hear the Marc Maron show from last night…how was it?
Oh, you must mean this
Yeah đ Isn’t Begala just as creepy as Carlson by the way “I met President Bush and he’s a great guy.” :barf::barf:
Stephen Colbert is my hero!:peace:
Now I have to crash, ’cause, you know, it’s, like, three somethin’ in Anchortown and delusions seem to pop out from the dark. Oh yeah, you guys should watch this trailer, too
Catch you another Day, Travis.
Morning Evening :yinyang:
Just watched the Cobert bit :omg:
Where the f*** is the podcast? I went to record it this AM, and it’s Mark Riley’s show!!! It’s a c-o-n-spiracy, I tell ya! :omg:
đż There are bad omens afoot đż We want our Marc!
Yeah, WTF? Why is Riley’s show where Marc’s is supposed to be?
Dana Milbank is pretty much a media whore douchebag. I’m sure he and his “journalist” friends didn’t think Colbert was funny, because he ripped their sorry asses to shreds.
damn sold-out journalists. You’re so right, PJ
The ripping to shreads was what I found funny! (and gutsy, he won’t be attanding again, I assime)
C=Span has more coverage than the other links I checked
Good morning geniuses….Well, I sorta half watched Olberman. saw Imus and “charles” etc…abotu Colbert and his funny or not…but the thing is that, make no mistake about it, Steve WAS funny and he was timely and right.
I love Olberman, but you dont get that 8PM slot on MSNBC by changing the world. Colbert and Stewart (and Maron and many others like them who take chances and arent afraid to tell it like it is with the funny in there…) ARE changing the world!
It turned out that Imus didnt even see it and that he relied on neocon “Charles” to tell him about it…
and who cares anyway…
The best thig of the day was Jon Stewart’s lead in to Colbert and the Colbert himself last night …its all on again at 10AM EST, so catch it if you can….
It will make you feel better.
I have the show if anyone wants it…it seems to be around a half a show. I can transfer it through AOL instant messenger very easily. I already edited it and was justputting it in the ipod so I can listen while I do some silly morning stuff.
I hope he shamed those assholes into action, but I doubt it. They won’t snap into action until a Democrat gets elected – then they’ll show how tough they are when it comes to shit that doesn’t matter.
Real learning results in a change of behaivior.
If the reporters don’t chamge, they didn’t learn.

Good morning Melina đ I agree that since KO is on a “legitmate” news show there are only so much to expect from him. Still, I usually like watching him more than the others, and it just kind of rattled me to hear Republican memes spilling out of a journalist’s mouth on the show. I’ll get over it, though đ
I don’t like Imus in much the same way I don’t like John McCain. They’re both called “mavericks” and they both play to a whole bunch of different people. If that makes any sense. Yeah, I know it’s a weird comparison.
I will definitely watch the Daily Show at 10. Thanks for the head’s up on that đ
Good Morning. I haven’t seen the Colbert thing yet. It is taking for fucking ever to download and my computer has been slow lately.
Kristapea- try going to C-Span and watch it there.
Well, I come to Imus through a childhood spent hearing him on the radio in my childhood home, and also that My mom is always listening to him so if there is something interesting Mom will tell me to turn it on.
What was rich was Imus and “charles” criticizing Colbert and then that horrid guy who is always pretending to be clinton or brian wilson was on being…um…clinton or one of the religious guys. Now, that guy is the definition of NOT FUNNY…and no one tells Imus that the guy is just bad, bad, bad…or he doesnt care
ugh…nothign makes me turn it off quicker, honestly….
The thing about Imus is that if you can stand any part of him you know that certain movers and shakers are listening to him…so it gives you an idea of whats going into their brains first thing in the AM. I find that it helps me understand a little better what turns into the usual social chatter. If I cant say to a bunch of people here and there “oh, you heard that on Rush…” or “oh, stop letting Imus tell you whats going on…”, Im a little lost….
but luckily, I have Mom scanning all the enemy channels and reporting ot me on the IM and cell phone ALL DAY, ALL THE TIME…ha!
Good thing shes liberal. IMagine if she was a repug and calling me 10 times a day!
Krista- I have the link to crooks and liars on my blog but its now up in better format on the other sites…however, if you doo the crooks and liars low-fi, you get the words, which are pretty much it, and you get it faster. he has a clip that is great for his physical comedy (I havent seen anyone so great at funny running since maybe Dick Van Dyke tripping over stuff….Jim Carey has nothing on that guy!)but you dont really need the high def version right now.
The sites are porbably overextened as it takes people a day or two to get to the point where they go and look at something…if you wait till later you can probably get the clearer one.
Not really
I’ve just watched three different sources and I enjoyed C-Span’s the most.
C&L was REALLY small
Yeah, it’s good that you your mom plays the “I listen to him so you don’t have to” role..sounds like you have a good arrangment. I just could never stand Imus, even when he was more sports-oriented and not much involved with the politics. I never thought he was funny, and I never could figure where he stood with anything, and that bugged me a lot.
Krista, or anyone else who wants to see Colbert…
You Tube has it up now, go to
Colbert Roasts Bush
it’s a much bigger screen than the Crooks and Liars version
Yeah. Olberman was pretty bad on Colbert….he had a guest that was sorta stupid and the focus was how it played in the room as opposed to how it played to the world.
The thing that makes Colbert my hero is that he wasnt playing to the room…he was sending a message to the public, knowing that he wasnt winning any points in the power structure of the government or media, for sure…That is a sacrifice for someone who could probably still be ruined in some way.
He took a chance and he got the message out.
Olberman and that strange guest (who is would be very happy if they stopped televising the white house press conferences…huh?) focused on the wrong thing and olberman was led by the guest. He didnt represent any part of the other side…like, what does it mean to the culture at large??
Are the administration and the press and TV folks all so self involved that they dont know that what they are doing has a role in what is happening in the hearts and minds of real people who have been actually marching in the streets? Could they really believe that their little dinner is when eveyrone puts aside their differences and laughs together as a happy family? We dont live in that world, Bush hates the media, Bush’s guys use the media, the media is a bunch of wimps, the country is polarized, and everything is a message that means somehting…..
and I dont give a shit about the longest sauasgae in the world…though I enjoyed anna nicole on puppet theater very much…I actually laughed out loud when she (her puppet) first spoke with a slur….
Try to catch Jon stewart coming on now EST…and Colbert after…if you can get your stuff done with the TV on, as I can right now….
Thanks FK for that news.
My sister in NO says the need what they can get.
Good post Melina…yeah, Colbert was speaking “Truth to Power” and he did it not because it was the right thing to do. Rare. Watching Jon Stewart now, Colbert was “balsilicious” I think that’s what he said!
:fu::paranoid::jason:
Good Night!
:omg:
Forever????
Nicki is NEVER for ever
we have a lot of NO folks in Georgia. I frequently hear stories – several folks working in the hospital had fled LA – Katrina/FEMA completely uprooted so many people.
The DC news folks are an odd bunch, from what I’ve gleaned through osmosis. There is only a small handful that are worth their salt (my opinion). Those few can see the big picture, have integrity and see through the BS. It’s almost incestuous-like, I think. They have their own brand of humor and protocol. They take themselves VERY seriously.
Glad Siggy gets an outing today. Poor fella.
:::dramatic hand sweeps across forehead:::
Good…
Paul Hackett is subbing for Springer today.:love::love::doh::doh::doh:
You would expect to think the thugs or their shills would find Colbert funny ?? The next thing you will find is that the M$M won’t carry the democrats fall campaign commercials because they will be to controversial.
Hacket again.. I thought he sucked last time :barf:
And Hartman will sit their and say ” gee whiz you guys weren’t politically active enough”:yuck::omg:
Yep, extra long walkies today – we even found a new trail in the woods that haven’t been down before. Now we’re sitting outside enjoying yet another gorgeous day here. Except, I can’t hardly see the screen with all this gosh darn sunshine. Anybody ever try a glare screen? I’m wondering how well they work.
Hey, by the way, if you buy a laptop from Dell, it turns out that the battery is only warranted for a year from date of manufacture, not from the date they shipped your laptop. I found this out because since they fixed mine, the battery is a little wiggly, and if I move it around a little, the goddman thing cuts out on me.
So, I just shipped it back to them, and they returned it saying it needs a new battery, but the battery warrany expired on April 5th. Now, there’s not a goddamn thing wrong with the battery – it gets almost as much runtime as it did when it was new, and there’s no physical defect that I can see on it. I think the connector on the mobo is somehow different, or it dosn’t sit in exactly the same place. I dunno, but how it can be the battery is beyond me.
Never shoulda bought a Dell. Shoulda went blue.
By the way, FK, what does Mr. think about Colbert’s performance – and the performance of the traditional media on covering the Bush administration (just between us – we won’t tell)?
That’s interesting, isi. I have the shows recorded, but haven’t listened to them. Maybe all that time out on the West Coast doing the West Wing converted her. L. Ron Hoover and that Church od Appliantology stuff is pretty popular with the showbiz types.
Sean, I agree wholeheartedly with Melina.
Congratulations on going back to college. Major in things that interest you. From what I’ve read here, could that be writing, communications? You have a great future ahead of you! đ
Garofalo gushes over Scientology-linked project
âThe usually sharp, well informed and at times cynical Garofalo is typically more skeptical,â noted Rick Ross of Cultnews.com, who said one show âcame across as something like an infomercial.â
Even some of Garofaloâs regular listeners were disappointed. âI lost all respect for this show tonight,â one listener posted on the âMajority Reportâ Web site. âWhy are they pumping up Scientology and junk science?â
Yet some fans are sticking by her. âJaneane is usually a great talker, good with guests, and very insightful,â noted one. âThe fact that sheâs insanely in the wrong tonight wonât make me dismiss all the great radio sheâs contributed, that would be Scientology thinking.â

PJ, I heard a part of one of those interviews and I was shocked. She has even expressed sympathy for Bush a couple of times!! A while back she alluded to having a new boyfriend! Maybe love has got her head scrambled!! đ

I’m on vacation for the rest of the week. Yay!
First order of business this morning was an intense study of the insides of my eyelids. I found them to be dark and sleep-inducing. More studies to follow later in the week.
Damn, I wish mine were like that. My eyelids seem to be hooked to a switch that tells the voices inside my head to start talking all at once.
you know, I heard them say that they were gonna do a thing about that project and have remini on…and I thought it was either to tear them apart or it was a joke…

mr fk – he likes colbert but did not find him that funny at the press thingy when he watched it in real time. He was kind of disappointed with it. we’ve been actually talking about it quite a bit. He thought bits were very funny, but he said it’s not supposed to be a roast (he’s been involved before in skits for it). Like when Imus roasted Clinton – a lot of folks gave Imus heat for it. It’s supposed to be a good-natured banter, he says, so it just didn’t work for that situation.
(I have my OWN opinions, don’t ya know. đ )
i can’t read Spanish beyond Spanish II … do they have that dot gov info in French maybe?
lord a mercy – the turks wouldn’t let us in to Iraq via their country so I’m glad they are consistent. what is GOING ON in this freaking world?
no wonder my Dell battery was shit and they never would replace it – never got the exact reason. AFter three Dells, I swore that bastard off my computer-of-choice list when he gave like a quater mil to Bush’s inauguration party let alone what he gave towards the new-con campaign financing. Way too evil for my blood.

Anybody out there listen to Adam Carolla? I caught a lot of his MayDay repeat this morning. Decent shock Jock stuff; also quite a racist–in krypto fashion.
Ferrucci and Cherry are doing a routine on the Rhodes show!:rofl2:
Adam Carolla?
He had aa couple of Latino comedians on. Very humourous. But the gist of the conversation was that, although racism does exist here, it is not as bad as it is in other countries. African nations, etc. Usual white power apologetics. Very ubiquitous ideology in the US. “Why the fuss over immigrants? Mexico has tight border control on their Guatemalan border; illegals are regularly deported.” Apples and oranges stuff like that. Wedge creating talk. I mean Stern could be bad–as can many media people. Not this bad, though.
Thom Hartmann needs to be called out for his “illegal” immigrant policu. His main point is that wages are driven down by the economic refugees from Mexico.
My experience is that most “illegals” get fake IDs, and go to work. Wages are not cut. Taxes are paid. Federal tax coffers get extra money as a result. Hartmann relies on the “UnderGround Economy” boogie. +:fu:Phony liberal creep! He is a pettyy capitalist true believer, too.
KPOJ ran that tired prome “You asked for him. Now you got him.” Yay! It’s Tyger Thom. Another krypro racist!

We have quite a few “legal” Hispanics that work here. They tell tales of 6 families to a house in Commerce City where their “ghetto” is. Most of the illegals have come here to live with their brother, father , uncle or someone and have gotten papers ( apparently not difficult to get just ask a Denver cop). Many of the women are nanny’s and house keepers for the Denver elite, others work as house keepers for the local motels. The guys seem to work for the railroad or railroad maintenance companies on track gangs or for the state and its contractors as laborers or in construction. Arresting their employers would be sort of embarrassing.. You might not get your coal delivered and you can live in the dark or the governor can go to jail. You can sort of see why they aren’t going to just round them up and send them back. and .. When asked about wages they seem to be making 8, 9, 10 maybe 15 and hour so they are not the salves they are made out to be.
Tear Down the Cathedrals and Replace Them with Ruins
Proposals for Rationally Improving the City of Paris
By LETTRIST INTERNATIONAL
The Lettrists present at the September 26 meeting jointly proposed the following solutions to the various urbanistic problems that came up in discussion. They stress that no constructive action was considered, since they all agreed that the most urgent task is to clear the ground.
The subways should be opened at night after the trains have stopped running. The corridors and platforms should be poorly lit, with dim lights flickering on and off intermittently.
The rooftops of Paris should be opened to pedestrian traffic by means of modifications to fire-escape ladders and construction of bridges where necessary. Public gardens should remain open at night, unlit. (In a few cases, a steady dim illumination might be justified on psychogeographical grounds.)
Street lamps should all be equipped with switches so that people can adjust the lighting as they wish.
With regard to churches, four different solutions were proposed, all of which were considered defensible until appropriate experimentation can be undertaken, which should quickly demonstrate which is the best.
G.-E. Debord argued for the total destruction of religious buildings of all denominations, leaving no trace and using the sites for other purposes.
Gil J. Wolman proposed that churches be left standing but stripped of all religious content. They should be treated as ordinary buildings, and children should be allowed to play in them.
MichĂšle Bernstein suggested that churches be partially demolished, so that the remaining ruins give no hint of their original function (the Tour Jacques on Boulevard de SĂ©bastopol being an unintentional example). The ideal solution would be to raze churches to the ground and then build ruins in their place. The first method was proposed purely for reasons of economy.
Lastly, Jacques Fillon favored the idea of transforming churches into houses of horror (maintaining their current ambience while accentuating their terrifying effects). […]
:omg:
A ton of undocumented workers around here – farm country. I’d think the chicken farms would have to shut down if there was a raid (and there probably will be one given the new law). But that might not be a bad thing – corporate-driven industrial “farms” “manufacturing” eggs that are perfectly uniform and complete with a full range of anti-biotics and hormones. HMMMMM
last night’s local news showed many construction sites shut down yesterday – tons of money lost they said.
:omg:
Are the “undocumented” taking away jobs from the documented?
Our farm workers work in the Arkansas river valley east of Pueblo. There are camps for them with little houses for maybe 10 or twelve, a central kitchen facility and day care. They are run by the Valley Coop. I’m sure there are illegals too but they buss these people in from Mexico each fall and I would assume they buss them back. Don’t know if they run a midnight bus to Commerce city. Heinz recently close the pickle plant in La Junta unemploying about 90 people. There was some discussion about raising the wages for the field hands to pick up some of these people.. When fall comes one will have to see.
I’ve never heard of jobs being “taken” away. Ever. Most folks I’ve met from Mexico are all incredibly hard working. There are a lot of Americans around here that are lazy as sin. I read an interesting old book called The Southerner, Nicholas Worth, 1906. He said that Southerners became lazy because of slavery. Whites didn’t want to work because they had slaves. Slaves, once freed, looked at work more from the previous white perspective. Slavery was a travesty to the white man as well as the black man since it did not honor a man’s own labor (besides what it did to their souls).

In many cases the Mexicans work harder than the people who live here…I’m so sick of anti-Mexican sentiment. They just want a break and to feed their families, same as everyone else.
The Hispanics recently became like 40% of the population of the Denver metro area and apparently voted democratic in the 2004 election an act which unelected the 12 year reign of the thugs in the state legislature. One can see why Mr. Tancredo wasn’t a happy camper. Hispanics, legal or not have taken over the housing construction labor market around here. I don’t think they pay them two dollars an hour however.
My issue with this whole immigrant thing is I don’t see people as immigrants. I don’t see borders. I see people, and I see that they need help. The whole idea of nations and borders sucks.
Iâm so sick of anti-Mexican sentiment.
yep, ’tis the latest hate group (it was gays and abortionists before)
man, fred, that’s an incredible statistic about Denver.
I think our laws creating legal immigrants needs to be overhauled. I’ve dabbled in trying to help a couple of different folks with the legal maze (people from a variety of countries) and, I’ll tell you what, it is NOT easy to figure out. I have a friend who entered here legally. Got a divorce, remarried an American, but is technically now an “illegal” since her status changed with the divorce. It’s costing her a lot of money and she and her husband can barely make ends meet.
The description of the conditions in Mexico which these people are fleeing is pathetic. Mr. Fox and his elite need to be strung up. When you can’t feed yourself do you have any choice but to either revolt like the French did or to flee. I understand the Mexican government has quelled some minor revolts by having their army round people up and then gun them down in the village square for everyone else to watch.. Remember Fox is a good friend of Bush.
OK, credit where credit is due. I shipped my laptop back to Dell in Memphis last Thursday. It was on my front porch Monday (yesterday), with a note that said it needed a new battery, which they didn’t have in stock at the repair place. Today, the replacement battery came (from Texas – not that they made it there), with a return label for the old battery. And damned if it doesn’t look like the new battery actually solved the problem.
Must be some sort of a defect in the contacts or something, that didn’t cause a problem until I took the battery out during the previous incident.
So, I guess they fixed it and didn’t try to screw me out of the price of a battery after all. And got it done in about four business days.
I hereby retract my previous curse on them (though I’d still go blue if I was to buy another one).
Besides, we ought to be nice to Mexico, since it’s liable to be us sneaking across the border trying to steal their jobs before too long.
Not me though – too damn hot. I’ll stick with Canada.
Not to change the subject, but this gave me a laugh. Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation, demonstrates why it’s not a good idea to make fun of someone’s name. Especially when the person you’re making fun of is smarter than you. đ

Katrina will be on the Charlie Rose show tonight on PBS, particpating in a panel discussion on, of all things, politics. Check your local listings for time and station, as they say.
My VCR is ready to roll. :hubba:
What we need to do is to invade Mexico and throw the ruling elite out on their ear and install a more people friendly government .. humm.. like they have in Peru, Venezuela, Brazil..Cuba.. for some reason i don’t see a rethug admin doing this.

And the people who are themselves descendents of immigrants who fled oppression somewhere in the world – and were welcomed here should understand. I just can’t fathom the inhuman reaction that some people have.
ah, Vincente…. yep….
I can’t blame anyone for trying to make their life better. We should all have that drive.
my maternal grandfather came over from Greece when he was 12 years old – found him listed on the manifest at Ellis Island! Anyway, he worked hard, owned restaurants and brought tons of our family from “the old country” over to American (not all came here legit, I’m sure). I admire folks for having the guts to do that.
OK, credit where credit is due.
don’t care what you say, I do NOT like Michael Dell!
To get back on subject…
The description of the conditions in Mexico which these people are fleeing is pathetic. Mr. Fox and his elite need to be strung up.
Comment by fred â May 2, 2006 @ 6:25 pm
Fred’s point is well taken. Vicente Fox is reducing the amount of social services his administration needs to provide by allowing/encouraging the poorest of his citizens to flee the country. If Mexicans could make a living and provide for their families at home, the number of them coming here would be minimal.
That’s interesting. Maybe if Bush’s handlers didn’t totally isolate him from the outside world, I could agree with that. But he hides behind his people, and ignores anybody that says anything he doesn’t want to hear. And for a few minutes, Colbert made him listen to a little truthiness. It’s amazing that it takes a basic cable comedian to stand up like that. And he didn’t just blast Bush – he let the DC correspondents have it, and damned if they don’t deserve it. Most of them are a disgrace to notion of journaism, and I’m glad at least a fake news person could come in and show the “real” ones how patheitc they’ve been (not that they got it, of course).
If we make it to the November election and the thugs by some act of thuggery retain the the congress I don’t think that the 70% of the country who didn’t vote for them should let them get away with it this time. They have screwed up to many things to such a great extent that the thugs and the elite like them in most of the hemisphere need to be hanging from lamp poles.
I know I mentione this the other day, but I think it’s important to note that, besides doing away with Net Neutrality, the draft Telecom bill taken up yesterday in the Senate also has “one requirement sure to please the recording industry: authorization for the FCC to start the process of outlawing digital over-the-air radio and digital satellite receivers sold today that permit users to record broadcasts. Those would be supplanted with receivers that will treat as copy-protected anything with an “audio broadcast flag” in the future.”
So, there goes your XM recorder.
I wouldn’t worry to much about any thing that has made it through congress in the last six years. I would push for a resolution by the democrats or who ever to just declare it all null and void. I mean if the presidork has such absolute powers a new congress should be able to that too. The constitution says something about congress, the supreme court and the presidorksy being coequal branches of government.
Unfortunately, it’s a lot easier for one president to issue a proclamation than for a majority of 435 house members and 100 senators to draft legislation and pass it – especially if there are Democrats involved. The telcos and RIAA have bought plenty off on both sides.
thanks, kev, for the info
But he hides behind his people, and ignores
well, that’s why I enjoyed it so much! don’t think the dc folks can laugh at themselves much..mr said they did deserve what they got…he just didn’t find it “funny” – didn’t get his funny bone…and he’s got a good one. to each his own, I suppsose.
on the net neutrality issue; would it affect DVR’s, i.e., TIVO? you can do all this recording and send it to your computer, wirelessly, blah blah
This article is getting alot of negative attention from blogs like atrios and talkingpointsmemo. I’m just now aquainting myself with this whole issue.
Sam just mentioned this web site
http://www.savetheinternet.org
There’s been talk that they’re going to require recorders to honor a flag set in the digital broadcast that will prevent recording. And everything goes digital as of April 2009.
that helps, isi, thanks.
tivo won’t be happy potentially. Tivo is a verb… how can they legislate a verb out of existence?
Sam just announced results from a study that show environmental pesticides decrease penis size.
Therefore the reason for Tom Delay’s Anger. You know all those years of being in close proximity to pestitcides!! :rofl2:
Well I guess that if any of us were on the fence about AAR Premium the Springer Webcam would send us scurrying in the other direction…nice to see that they still have those brilliant minds getting great marketing ideas….
…and you know…Ive been blogging more abotu immigration and I was trying to find stuff about the star spangled banner in spanish…and its been removed from most of MSNBC and almost all of the places where you maybe could find interesting stuff on it…
Good insight from free-form-station-of-the-nation WFMU, who are huge fans of Maron.

webhubble, I cant get that link…is it correct?
One last thing on Colbert: Can anyone explain the joke about Scott Mclellan quitting to spend more time with Andy Card’s children? Was that a gay reference? McLellen has no children, and fairly or not, he’s one of the rumored recipients of Guckert/Gannon’s manlove. If that was Colbert’s intent, its a breathtaking insult.
The whole thing really brought back memories of Andy Kaufman.
The link looks good, Melina. I’ve seen a general link malaise today, as if the internet has come down with a malady of sorts. Keep trying.
BTW, I just heard Brother Sky call in to Malloy claiming some interesting stuff regarding how Sammy The Stem Cell offended Don Imus enough that it got Marc Maron kicked off the airwaves. Brother Sky normally tends to rant in a stream-of-consciousness fashion but on this subject he sounded vaguely coherent.
cresttwo, I thought the joke about Andy Card/Scott McClellan was a way to make reference to all of the firings that had been going on.
