OK, let’s see what these people have in store for us this week. If the potato won’t go to the lizard, then bring the lizard to the the potoato, as Condi visits Timmy on Press the Meat. Then it’s Jim Dean representing Ned Lamont, and Lanny Davis representing Zell Lieberman.
On Faze the Nation, Bush buddy Booby Schieffer has Chuck Hagel and Chris Todd from the Senate Foreign Relations committee, on to talk about “Iraq, the War in the Middle East, and Politics.” I don’t know. What’s the point?
On CNN’s LAte Edition, Wolfie has Stephen Hadley plus whoever they can dig up (hopefully not literally) from Israel and Lebanon, on to talk about how well everything’s going over there in the Middle East.
The Lizard Woman walks on over to ABC to have a chat with George Snufalufagus, who also goes “on the road” to interview Ned and Joe. Plus, at the roundtable, it’s the Axis of Drivel, together again, with Sam “The Rug” Donaldson, Cokie “The Hag” Roberts, and of course George :jerk: Will. And then, apparently Nora Ephron sees a woman in the White House. Let’s just hope it’s not Condi or Liddy or Hillary.
Over at Fux News Sunday, as if it isn’t bad enough having to look at the little weaselface prick Cris Wallace, today we’re forced to endure Senator MBNA and the Newt. Oh boy.
Later, on 60 Minutes, Scott Pelley does a story on Global Warming, and the rest of the show is TBD. I think that’s a repeat story, but at least there are new episodes of the 4400 and the Dead Zone – plus I actually get to watch Deadwood w/o having to spend 10 hours downloading it to my laptop first.
Have a good one.

Don’t fall for this propaganda. Hezbollah took the 2 soldiers in order to negotiate with Israel. It is true that Hezbollah will not give up until Israel signs a peace treaty based on international standards. Their goals do not include driving Israel into the sea.

Good morning/afternoon/tomorrow/whatever
Well the UN passed a resolution asking for a cease fire in the Israeli/Lebanon conflict and both sides flipped them the bird..European leaders keep dialing 1-800-PNT-AGON and keep getting the message that the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service. ( you would have thought that they would have figured this out 6 years ago but being impotent is hard to cope with)
Israel dropped leaflets telling the people of Sidon to evacuate so it looks like they will start bombing Sidon today.
The M$M can’t seem to find any missing blond haired blue eyed teenagers so they may keep covering this for the next day or two at least.
MEXICO CITY – Defeated presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador vowed to continue his campaign of protests Saturday night after his petition for a total vote recount of the tight July 2 election was rejected by an electoral tribunal.
Speaking to several thousand supporters packed into the capital’s historic square, the Zocalo, Lopez Obrador said he would announce specific measures Sunday morning.
The leftist former Mexico City mayor may call on followers to march through the city or stage sit-ins and blockades of strategic points, such as airports and highways.
“We have to keep resisting and struggling,” he said to thunderous cheers and pumping fists of his supporters. “We are going to continue with our peaceful resistance movement. We do not want a privileged group treating the government as their service committee.”
–snip–
The recount is scheduled to begin Wednesday and must be completed by the following Monday. The tribunal has until Sept. 6 to certify results of the election or order a new vote.
Lopez Obrador’s supporters, many of whom come from Mexico’s lower classes, started to mobilize as word of the tribunal’s decision circulated.

Lebanon Endures Heaviest Battering
“In the space of seven hours Saturday, Israel hit Lebanon with around 250 air raids and some 4,000 shells, killing two people and wounding at least 37, police said.
The single village of Aitaroun near the border endured a barrage of 2,000 rounds.
Israeli artillery was systematically leveling 15 villages within five km of the border after Israeli leaders vowed to create a security zone free of Hizbullah fighters in the area, the police added.
Israeli planes dropped leaflets over parts of southern Lebanon warning that Hezbollah positions in the city of Sidon and elsewhere would be bombarded, the army said.
The renewed attacks failed to halt rocket fire on Israeli towns. A mother and her two adult daughters were killed and 10 people were lightly wounded when rockets hit northern Israel.”
==============================================
I noted that the Saudis are going to sue Israel for a trillion dollars for property damage they suffered in this fiasco.:omg::rant1:
Where things stand. At least 660 people have been reported killed in Lebanon and Israel since fighting broke out July 12. Lebanon: At least 575 have been killed — including 497 civilians confirmed dead by the Health Ministry, 28 Lebanese soldiers and at least 50 Hezbollah guerrillas. The Lebanese government’s Higher Relief Council said 933 Lebanese had been killed in the conflict. The Israeli military said more than 400 Hezbollah guerrillas have been killed. Israel: Seventy-eight Israelis have been killed, including 46 members of the military and 33 civilians, according to authorities.
1 a.m.: An Israeli Cabinet minister said Israel will continue to attack Hezbollah militants in south Lebanon, despite an agreement on a draft U.N. resolution to end fighting. “Even if it is passed, it is doubtful that Hezbollah will honor the resolution and halt its fire,” Haim Ramon told Army Radio. “Therefore we have to continue fighting, continue hitting anyone we can hit in Hezbollah, and I assume that as long as that goes on, Israel’s position, diplomatically and militarily, will improve.”
Fred, re all of your above posts 🙁 :fustrate: :fu:
:mad::growl::fist::jason: ARREST! IMPEACH! VIGILANCE!
George Snuffleupagus has on the Lamont campaign…it comes on at 9AM here on a strange channel that is an alternative chanell …like, local or something…but did I tell you all that he was at the rally in all of his very extreme tininess?…he was wearing Levi’s 501’s and they must have been a 27 waist…..and he had on alot, alot of makeup…but like a little doll…
Anyway, I think its smart of him to do this because its indicative of a movement in this country…and its just the beginning of that…which will be the platform from which to make some sort of change from within.
Jesus…is Israel not really US???
What can we do to stop this…did anyone see the slide show of pics from the Times? I think I may put some on my blog once I have coffee…the pictures say everything.
Are there asny CT lurkers here? I am thinking not to vote for Malloy (who is my mayor running for governer) in favor of destefano…but I need advice beyond the blogs round here….
Morning! :joe:
thanks for the update (or upchuck?) Fred. 😥
melina, do you mean george’s tininess or someone from lamont’s camp?
:omg: 🙂
Dennis Hastert ? :billcat:
Morning ppl. Gonna sit back and watch the blog and a little CNN this morning to catch up on the news. So are you saying that this war in Lebanon will continue despite the UN’s efforts to stop it?
hmmm, wonder what THIS means, Melina?
, I was writing a response for running for office to local dems and poof many new posts. 😉
Melina and Farmerkat and All G’Day and sadly the bombings continue , from both sides 😥 🙁 😥
what position are you seeking, Druid?
hey cnick!
===
If Israel/US were humanitarians instead of war mongers, the world might be a different place. It’s about every day living, isn’t it?:
I’ve been in WA & CO states the past two weeks. One thing I seem to keep hearing is that people are unhappy about Iraq and other issues but they don’t blame Bush…they blame Cheney and everyone else but seem to hold bush as a hapless idiot who is innocent. what is THAT about? Maron I remember had no tolerance for that attitude.
Hmmm… Random acts of charity. I wonder if that would be effective for the Democrats here?
I can hardly keep my eyes open.
Just checking in. Hi Melina, Fred, Farmerkat and Dear Druid and whoever else is lurking.:joe:
Gotta spring into action here!
They have “many openings” some paid and with City Council, and some w/o pay but to be on The Water Dept. I hope it is something like that. I was on the verge to, after being a lifelong, finally leave, but “kinda” encourage. I, personally, hope traditional Dems run. Yet I would “shake” this up a bit:rofl2:. No time to gather signatures, so just putting me in a position (w/o signatures needed).
And Tea Cheers cnickthomas 😉
This, from Huffingtonpost, should make us all feel MUCH better:
Daryn Kagan is leaving her post as CNN morning anchor. I’m waiting till you steady yourselves from the blow. But wait, there’s more. Ms. Kagan, a one-time squeeze of radio’s Mr. Limbaugh, isn’t leaving CNN to jump to another network at a hefty whatever in salary. Instead, she’s starting up her own website, supposedly without backers, to create a “community”–wish we had one of those in our neighborhood–that would share inspiring stories. Here’s what she’s discovered during her TWELVE years as a CNN anchor:
“I think there is a void in the straight news business now, (which is) lacking a certain spirituality,” Kagan told The Associated Press on Thursday. “I think most people live in a space where they are looking for meaning in life and good in the world and that is not necessarily reflected in straight news coverage right now.”:smack:
This is at the deadline when I heard of the “openings” so I do not hold much hope. “But, if they want me…” paraphase from Labyrith.
Plus, I have an intense Protest background. Bwah HaHa 😉
Sue P, :nod: :omg::wink:
coolness druid 😉 back at you. hope all is well
After giving the anti-stupidity pill to the AAR execs, perhaps we should save one for Daryn…although I’d probably benefit from one or two myself.
sblueheron, Tea:joe: Cheers. Eek, I just saw what time it is. I will be signing off soon.:wink: but I like your “mailings” you sent 😉
Oh Kat…George is tiny…but then, I am 5’9″!…but he is littler than little…I was estimating his waist size and he is just a fine little guy…nothing wrong there, but its always funny.
Is Mr really, like, 5 feet tall?
There has been a crush to register dem all over CT….Im thinking that the INdependents are alot of ex repugs who have jumped ship because they are fed up with the war…and couldnt bring themselves to become Dems….
And then there are Dems who arefed up with Joe and the Dem party laying down….
Now suddenly someone has something to say…but my guess is that most of what everyone has to say is anti war and anti bush…..no worries here….unless they got to the voting machines. But, they are still using the mechanical ones up here.
Farmerkat If Israel/US were humanitarians instead of war mongers, the world might be a different place. It’s about every day living, isn’t it?
It is all Bush’s fault and his administration’s fault.
Here is some more comforting news from today’s Boston Globe. I’m sure Daryn Kagen and her ex-beau Rush Limpbough approve::omg:
The bill, which passed by 327 to 96 in April, authorized the Bush administration’s plans for fighting the war on terrorism. Many members say they faced an untenable choice: Either consent to a review process so secretive that they could never mention anything about it in House debates, under the threat of prosecution, or vote on classified provisions they knew nothing about.
Most chose to know nothing
OMG Frank Rich is on vacation. You’d think he could have written TWO columns last week!
melina, i didn’t realize the Greek man was boy-sized!
:rofl2:
try 6’1 and you might be closer. my sis is 5’9″ and I’m ever so jealous…5’4″ here.

nighty night druid!
Yes, Mr looks tall, but even when standing next to a tank some lil boys like Snuffle can stand on an applebox and look tall….
he is one of those tiny guys in cowboy boots…ha!
I just wrote about his show because Joe has managed to try to flip flop at the last minute….but hes saying just about everything at the same time….so its a little silly
Nite dru…kisses to the rats etc….and to blue…also nite nite, if you are able to sleep…..
I am wondering where druid is located to be going to bed now? Is druid on the otherside of the globe? Just curious. Watching Condee (that bitch) on Meet the press (NBC). She does not seem to confident is the BS she is mouthing on MTP. You can see it in her eyes. What a mess Bush and his administration have made of things.
Chris Matthews has Dan Rather on to talk about this silly story that Jon Stewart is turning the youth of America off to politics…on the contrary sez Dan!
Dru works the night shift so this is her night
Hey, courtesy of Mr. Druid, you can listen to Marc’s 7/24 show, recorded live from the Ramada Inn. It’s about 23 minutes, mp3 file format, about a 4 meg download. Also linked over there on the right, under multimedia.
am I right?
😉 melina! Thanks PJ for the link I’ll give it a listen. Coolness
Wow!!!!!! Thanks Mr Druid!!! We’ve got some pretty great Mr’s here…(including Mr Sauter!)
THANKS MR. DRUID!!! :nixon:
Hey, Chris Matthews is actually OK today. He is actually saying something important in his end commentary.
Lamont and Lieberman debate on Meet the press coming up! This could get good.
Chris Matthews comes on right after Meet the press here in Birmingham, so I’ll catch that and then listen to Marc
well fuck . . . I thought Lamont and Lieberman were gonna be on Meet the press and not their representatives! HELL Talk about bait and switch!
…yeah, and you gotta live through Condi Rice to get to it….Lieberman is refusing all interviews lately..thus the empty chair (for Isiah?) on Colbert….
The good thing that Im doing is to listen to Marc live while watching Condi with no sound…..eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Hmm . . . Jim Dean representing Lamont. I learned something here today. Jim Dean (who I’ve never heard of till today) is the brother of Howard Dean.
That live clip is GREAT!!
Some of the material is old though…I wonder what hes gonna use for the taping….
Oh yes…they all sort of smush together…the deaniacs up the street who are the real movers and shakers of the meetups for Dean etc…are doing the treasurer stuff for Lamont too….Jim Dean has the DFA group that is supporting certain progressive candidates.
I feel so out-of-the-loop here in this backward red state. No real choices here. Republican rule has me sick. :barf:
okay I guess its time to listen to Marc.
O god I could never be a standup. I’d be petrified standing before an audience. Honest opinion? I like Marc better on radio. He translates better on air. Goddamn Air America. Marc please find a way back to radio!
N e one want to talk on the telephone today? if so email me @ rhubbar7@yahoo.com I’d love to do a telephone interview for my next podcast of one of you ladies or gentlemen. Promise not to make us both sound stupid. I have unlimited long distance calling in the US via Bellsouth land line.
Happy birthday, Mrs. G:cake:alc:
Wonder if that guy who used to call Marc’s show and sing blogs on this site? Maybe I could get him to call me and sing for us all.
Cnick, man, where ya’ been?
I’ve been around. Where you been? So how is life treating you travis?
Yeah, Brian. That guy was pretty funny
Uh, well, right now I’m outside the North Seattle Public Library. the WiFI is barely making its way out here, so the connection is a little lazy
Brian from somewhere I can’t remember where? O my. So you wouldn’t want to be my first morningseditionist interview . . . would you? Not meaning to put you on the SPOT or anything.
I remember Brian from Everett
Who?… Brian?…Me?Interview? I really don’t have that much to say, really.
Must be early in Seattle. In a parking lot travis? You really need to rent an apartment or something.
So some of the most interesting conversations come from two ppl not having anything to talk about. Really.
You ppl are no fun . . . I’m gonna take my ball and go home.
Yeah, it’s not even 10 am yet. I was thinking about finding a roomate or something, but i hate it when people eat my food:mad: “It’s fucking my jelly and toast, man! Not yours!”
So is that a “no” or “I’ll think about it” or a “Maybe?”
No fun? No, man. We’re just lazy right now
Yeah, I’ll think about it. I’m sorta of a shy person, but I think we can work through whatever neurosis I have, and accomplish something. Cool
Its cool. Just nice to talk to you man. You never seemed to be a homophobe or anything. I think most ppl here are open minded. I donno about Sean. He has me abit confused.
The toast and jam thing was only a joke. I’m not like that. really, I’m not
Oh, I hate car alarms, though:mad:
I told my friend that I would pick him up some breakfast. I’ll correspond with ya’ later, Cnick.
Well if you’d quit sleeping in your car you would not have to worry about car alarms! I knew you were joking about the jam and toast. What do ya think I’m STUPID or something? Have a good one Travis.
Stupid? No, I just didn’t want to give off the persona of some guy who’s ungenerous, over protective of somewhat-finite resources (I hate going to the store for toast and jam) and childish. I’m the one that’s stupid. I’d be messed-up, psychologically ,if i thought you were stupid. See, this is getting us nowhere in a hurry. I have to go pick up some toast and strawberry jam, anyway. Talk with ya’ later, man
8 is the number for the most ever online. :hot: Did that heatwave break something? Wasn’t it 33?
Toast and jam just would not cut it for me for breakfast. I like scrambled eggs, sausage links and bacon, hash browns (I hate grits – what is that stuff anyway) and freshly baked biscuits with gravy. Yum Yum.
OK, I think I said I would get a pastry thing, anyway. I hope that’s satisfactory enough. Later
Pastry thing is dessert. Eat it with a nice BIG cup of piping hot coffee. Not that fru fru stuff you buy at Starbucks! A lant a or something or nother. That shit tastes awful! Whatever happened to just ordering a nice cup of plain ole coffee? You know with caffine in it. Not some coffee milkshake. You’re cool Travis . . . I want that interview!
this is what’s happening here this weekend:
more
Did everyone sleep late or something? Nursing hangovers? Hey, Its 1:36 P.M. in the afternoon here in Bham! Does anyone know where our ppl are? Everybody’s out of town.
O no . . . you don’t think its happened already? Rapture.
:40: I guess I’ll have to take up drinking.
:omg: BOO :omg::yuck::eek::crap:
Coolness . . . I’ve not been left behind! Hello Fred! How is life?
Industry Vet Goldberg Forms Gold Village
Music industry veteran and former Air America Radio CEO Danny Goldberg has formed Gold Village
Entertainment. The company will be involved in all aspects of the music business starting with personal
management.
Goldberg, who remains vice chairman for Air America through the end of 2006, is best known for his
leadership positions at record labels Atlantic, Warner Bros., Mercury and Artemis, the last of which he founded
and continues to consult.
Gold Village’s first clients are Steve Earle and Allison Moorer, both of whom will be co-managed with Burt
Stein of Gold Mountain Nashville. (Goldberg ran Gold Mountain in the ’80s and ’90s.)
In related news, Jesse Bauer, who previously worked at Artemis, has joined Gold Village as GM of the New
York office.
Future plans for Gold Village include a small record label as well as a music publishing company. “We want
to be involved in every aspect of an artist’s career [where] we feel we can benefit them,” Goldberg told
Billboard.biz.

Israeli pilots are purposely aborting bombing missions because they distrust the intelligence they are given. Perhaps a lesson for us.

: In town visiting my brother thought I’d drop by over there and run some stuff for the Comedy Central Presents set
Melina, I just read your last two pieces on RIPCoco concerning Lieberman and Lamont. Both are EXCELLENT! You really should consider seeking an op-ed position somewhere… you’re very talented.

MEXICO CITY – Tens of thousands of angry supporters of Mexico’s leftist presidential candidate poured into the center of the capital Sunday, chanting that they wanted to seize Mexico City’s airport a day after the top electoral court rejected a full recount of the country’s disputed election.
Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has called on his followers to remain calm and maintain street blockades and a tent city in the capital’s center to protest what he calls fraud that that gave the advantage to his conservative opponent in the July 2 presidential race. Frustrated by the court decision, masses of supporters joined the thousands already camped out downtown.
The federal government has reinforced security at the airport in recent days amid rumors that protesters would move their “civil disobedience” protests to the sprawling complex

Somebody listen to my :jesus: damn internet radio show!!!
Yeah, I’m grumpy. Watching 60 minutes doing a piece on big frickin’ houses. With relatives who bought land in Chicago’s North Suburbs in the 60s, I’ve seen this crap before. 3 houses in 10 or so years lived next to my aunt and uncle. Bigger and bigger houses… less and less lawn space. Happens in Montana as well… the owners just buy the extra ranch land around them.
Speaking of Montana, Conrad Burns’ latest semi-public tirade isn’t the first nor the last. Montana Republicans seem to be like that. Former Gov. Judy Martz (SHE’S A MAN, BABY!!!) said, “I never gave my husband a reason to hit me.”
Speaking of stupid, there’s Katie Couric doing an ad for the news. “NEWS!!! Coming September 1st!” No news till then. Go home.
So yeah…
Please listen to my show! Don’t leave me with my creepy stalker! Maronites UNITE! In the form of an INTERNET-RADIO AUDIENCE
Grand National Championship (Unofficial MMS/MS Wake)
8 Central /9 Eastern
6 Pacific/ 7 Mountain
Listening to my show is better for you than watching 60 Minutes do a piece on professional video-game player Fatal1ty.
druid, re #16, the city council registration deadline for candidates is august 11 ….. 💡 ❗
:wink:FoggBlue How are you:wink: (giggles)
One I believe is suppose to have a zillion of signatures (except I hope some no pay positions). But I have a background that would make  crazy. Ahhhh attitudes (not arrogance cuz I can back up what I say Bewah HaHa). I also have police and sheriff background and academic but then comes major protests AND BEYOND tee hee. Be afraid. Be very afraid. (getting a t-shirt which says that hehehe)
BUT THX FOGGYBLUE…I have a wonderful and powerful and charming letter I am sending within a wee bit (just letting it absorb)
Ok that was a 12 hour day…6 hours working and 6 hours driving.
I am in a creepy dive of a motel though.
For 3 nights :barf:
Quiet on the blog today but good to hear from Travis-hope he got his toast and jam.
It does seem like a few have been raptured.
PG.
Sorry I missed your show. Will be downloading the podcast though.
Hey Druid you still there?
i love creepy dive motels!
Painting Girl,
I have been downloading your wakes and have loaded them on to my IPod for a dreaded trip to VA next week. I listened to the first one real time but the others I have had to DL. I think I finally got them to work. They are great and the sad ‘stalker’ passion is appreciated. I hope tonight’s show gets up before my departure.
FoggyBlue,
I am guessing Steve has a good relationship with Danny. I don’t think he had a lot invested in the AAR debacle and was not fucked with like many of the others were, especially since he was a recording artist on Goldberg’s label. At least he is one of the surviving decent weekend shows.
Got to cut and run.
Seanie Sean- wish you were here:hubba:
:paranoid:maybe i am?
Yeah, I guess, sense nobody is here right now, I’ll just leave.
at the library.
Hey where are you?
:hubba:
Well, I’m actually outside the library. Weak WiFi:mad:
It’s called WAR driving Travis. Where you lurk outside of places and pick up Wifi. The first time I did that was outside the Black Crow cafe in Missoula MT.:omg:
Um, no. I messed-up. I can barely see what I’m doing. You know, it is dark outside?:lol:Um, it was actually a cheese danish
When are you going East?
thanks to someone named Kelsey, I can blog!!
Bill and I haven’t talked too much about the trip yet.
The weather is pretty nice here right now.
It is cold and foggy here..
my ac broke i am oozing water right now!
Man Seanie you have sure had problems with that truck. What state are you in?
It is possible I will be heading East week after next and could give you a lift.
Almost Lucky Louie time. This dive has HBO and Wifi so not all bad.
alright, that would be fun. we’ll talk about it later.
Sean, is that coolant leak serious
Hey, on the road, I could tell you about that strange trip I had:bong:
It all started at the Blue Moon…
We could do a live cnickthomas video podcast from the road.
Where all good stories start…
Ok, I’m even boring myself with the crap I’m throwing down. I’ll see later- when I can actually see the keys, and type
OK…
H y write me the story in an email and send it tomorrow. OK?
Plus, I’m getting a little freaked-out standing in the street like this. I feel like someone could get me from behind at any moment:paranoid:
Watch out Travis:omg:
5’ll try. later:peace:
so where is the dive?
:priest:
:fire::hot:
Sanitized for your Protection.
Thanks, Luna- whoever that is? WiFi
I hope the neighbors aren’t pissed that I’m using their connections
So are you at home then?
Oh, by the way, I was just attacked by an orange cat. So, there may be some bad vibes resonating out there from this WiFi situation
Yeah. Right in the driveway
:tongue:i steal my neighbors wi-fi every time i am home!
Are you blogging from the porch?
:billcat:

Cool. I just sent ya’ part of a short story I’m workin’ on. OK… I lied. I’m going to send ya’ part of a short story I’m working on. Keep in mind that I usually don’t finish them, so, uh, I don’t know.
:smack: For some reason I can’t log into the gmail from this Wi-Fi con.. Maybe later then
I am watching Rambo. 😎
At times in the middle of the night, hmmm
I think it is I finally broke a very long nail and now I can type :rofl2: I just saw the drinking emo, I should have drank. Darn.
