CARO, Mich. – Three men were arrested Friday on charges of supporting terrorism after they purchased 80 prepaid mobile phones from a Wal-Mart store, police said.
The men, all from the Dallas area, were being held on charges of soliciting or providing material support for terrorism and obtaining information of a vulnerable target for the purposes of terrorism, police Sgt. Dale Stevenson said. They were being held in Tuscola County Jail and were scheduled to be arraigned Saturday.
Stevenson declined to elaborate on how the case relates to terrorism. Telephone messages were left Friday with the Tuscola County prosecutor’s office and the FBI, which assisted with the investigation.

August 11, 2006)—Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was being treated Friday evening in the emergency room of Providence Health Center in Waco.
Sheehan, who has been on a liquids-only diet for 37 days as part of a fast in protest of the war, was described as being gaunt and pale as she arrived at the hospital.
An assistant said Sheehan, who flew to Central Texas after a trip with other activists to Jordan to meet with members of Iraq’s new parliament, was being treated for exhaustion.
Sheehan, whose 24-year-old son Casey died in Iraq in 2004 while serving with Fort Hood’s 1st Cavalry Division, returned to Central Texas last week, after purchasing a 5-acre tract in the Crawford area.

Dealing with the Bushevik’s could exhaust anyone..:eek::crap:
By Associated Press | August 12, 2006
WASHINGTON — Republicans determined to win in November are up against a troublesome trend: growing opposition to President Bush.
An Associated Press-Ipsos poll conducted Aug. 7-9 found that the president’s approval rating has dropped to 33 percent, matching his low in May. His handling of nearly every issue, from the Iraq war to foreign policy, contributed to the president’s approval decline around the nation, even in the Republican-friendly South.
More sobering for the GOP are the number of voters who backed Bush in 2004 who are ready to vote Democratic in the fall’s congressional elections: 19 percent of those surveyed. These one time Bush voters are more likely to be female, self-described moderates, low- to middle-income, and from the Northeast and Midwest.
Two years after giving the Republican president another term, more than half of these voters — 57 percent — disapprove of the job Bush is doing.
We all need to buy a toxic materials suit to wear while watching TV between now and Nov.. The Reich will will be loading the airwaves up with immense amounts of slime.:eek:

GREEN BAY, Wis. — On one of the scariest days yet in the five-year battle with terrorists, President Bush prepared to make a speech to reassure the American people. But the White House press corps was 1,000 miles away in Texas.
Bush had left his ranch vacation and jetted north for a scheduled closed-door fundraiser. No press plane accompanied him. And so when news broke that Britain had broken up a major terrorist plot, the only ones there to convey the president’s reaction were a handful of local reporters and a few pool journalists who ride in the back of Air Force One.
The idea that Bush could travel across the country without a full contingent of reporters, especially in the middle of a war, highlights a major cultural shift in the presidency and the news media. In the four decades since the assassination of John F. Kennedy, presidents traditionally have taken journalists with them wherever they traveled on the theory that when it comes to the most powerful leader on the planet, anything can happen at any time.
But increasingly in recent months, Bush has left town without a chartered press plane, often to receptions where he talks to donors chipping in hundreds of thousands of dollars with no cameras or tapes to record his words for the public. Barred from such events, most news organizations will not pay to travel with him. And so a White House policy inclined to secrecy has combined with escalating costs for the strapped news media to let Bush fly under the radar in a way his predecessors could not.
Democrats Go on Offense in Latest Terror Case
Looking to the past for lessons, they respond fast and sharply, saying Bush ‘mismanagement’ fed the threat and the GOP is playing politics.
By Peter Wallsten, Times Staff Writer
August 12, 2006
CRAWFORD, Texas — Two years after President Bush won reelection having painted his opponent as soft on terrorists and weak on national security, Democrats have seized on the latest alleged terrorism plot in hopes of turning the political tables on the White House.
Their aggressive stance was evident hours after British authorities announced they had disrupted a plot to blow up airplanes: Leading Democrats blamed the terrorism threat on “mismanagement” by the Bush administration and charged that the Iraq war had become a “rallying cry” for the enemy.
On Friday, Democrats continued with a series of sharp statements accusing the White House of exploiting the case for political gain.
Party strategists said they had steered clear of such loaded language in similarly sensitive cases out of fear of stirring up voters on an issue that, since 2001, has largely helped Republicans. But Democrats said they were determined now to maintain their criticism through the November elections, citing public anxiety over the Iraq war and other foreign policy challenges that might, for the first time in three election cycles, lessen the GOP advantage.
The new strategy, spearheaded largely by the Senate Democratic leadership, is a direct response to surveys showing that Republicans hold only a marginal lead over Democrats when voters are asked whom they trust to keep the country safer….

With a government vote on the U.N. cease-fire resolution hours away, Lebanon’s prime minister said the plan to end fighting between Israel and Hezbollah served the country’s interests. Fuad Saniora signaled that his Cabinet would approve the plan when it met later Saturday. “This resolution shows that the whole world stood by Lebanon,” he told reporters.

8:15 p.m. The WSJ’s Guy Chazan, Marc Champion and Karby Leggett report. The United Nations resolution to halt the war between Israel and Hezbollah offers the best hope yet of a break in the monthlong hostilities. But the deal by no means guarantees a long-term solution; for one thing, it papers over a dispute about what kind of international force should patrol southern Lebanon and when Israeli troops should withdraw.

Israel pushes deeper into Lebanon despite U.N. vote
BEIRUT (Reuters) – Israeli forces thrust deeper into Lebanon against fierce Hizbollah resistance on Saturday and air strikes killed up to 20 people, hours after the U.N. Security Council adopted a resolution to end the month-old war.
Relief officials said Israel was still denying permission for aid convoys to reach distressed civilians in the south.
Air strikes in the south killed up to 15 people in the village of Rshaf and four civilians in Kharayeb, security sources said. Raids in the Bekaa Valley killed one civilian.
Israeli bombs also hit Beirut’s suburbs, roads in the north, electricity pylons near Sidon, the Beirut-Damascus highway and the southern city of Tyre, witnesses and security sources said.

Israel has nearly tripled the number of forces in Lebanon
2/08/2006
Israel Defense Forces troops were engaged in heavy exchanges of fire with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on Saturday, as troops pushed northward to the Litani River under cover of intense artillery fire.
Israel has nearly tripled the number of forces in Lebanon as part of its expanded ground war in Lebanon, and expects to fight for another week, despite a United Nations cease-fire resolution, IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz on Saturday.
After the unanimous United Nations Security Council vote Friday on the cease-fire resolution, Israel launched an expanded ground offensive in south Lebanon. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will present the cease-fire resolution to the cabinet Sunday.
IAF strikes and ground assaults kill at least 19 across Lebanon
Israel Air Force air strike and IDF ground attacks continued on Saturday, with missiles and artillery killing at least 19 people across Lebanon, mostly in the south.

Further north in Kharayeb, medical sources say an Israeli air strike targeting a pick-up truck has killed at least four civilians.
Security sources say several people were killed and more wounded in an earlier air strike on the Lebanese village of Rshaf.

Israel Widens Airstrikes Into Lebanon
Saturday, August 12, 2006
BEIRUT, Lebanon – Israeli warplanes launched wide-ranging airstrikes and sent commandos into the Hezbollah heartland Saturday while the U.N. raced to begin enforcing its new cease-fire blueprint and stop the fighting. Airstrikes killed at least 15 people in one Lebanese village.
Israel also blasted a highway near Lebanon’s last open border crossing to Syria as it kept up its full-scale campaign against Hezbollah militants. Long columns of Israeli tanks, troops and armored personnel carriers streamed over the border.
In Sidon, a coastal city between Beirut and the Israeli border, Israeli bombs destroyed a power plant. Farther south, another power facility was hit near Tyre, knocking out electricity to the port, police said.
On Lebanon’s northern frontier, Israeli airstrikes hit the highway leading to the Arida border crossing about a mile from the Mediterranean coast. It’s the last official border post open for humanitarian convoys and civilians fleeing the country. The highway was impassable, but drivers tried to maneuver through ruts and ditches.
The only other exits from Lebanon are rugged pathways and back roads through deserts or mountains.

Hezbollah Rockets Attack Northern Israel; 5 Hurt
08-12-060825ET
JERUSALEM (AP)–Hezbollah rockets injured at least five people in Israel on Saturday afternoon after a rocket-free morning, medics said.
A direct hit on a house in Amirim, a northern Israel community, injured two people who were hit by shrapnel. Another strike in the northern town of Kiryat Shemona injured three people.
By mid-afternoon, the army reported 20 rocket strikes on Israel. Hezbollah had been averaging nearly 200 hits each day in its monthlong conflict with Israel.
The Israeli army said Saturday it had destroyed several Hezbollah rocket launchers and killed more than 40 guerrillas on Friday. Israel announced it had nearly tripled the number of troops operating in southern Lebanon – to around 30,000 – just as members of the U.N. Security Council agreed on a cease-fire deal in New York.

LONDON, England (CNN) — Links to suspected terror operatives in Pakistan with possible links to al Qaeda were Saturday emerging as key elements of the investigation into an alleged plot to blow up trans-Atlantic flights.
Suspects in the U.K. received a coded message from Pakistan to “attack now” as authorities there closed in on terror suspects, security sources have told CNN.
As airport chaos triggered by the appararent plan to smuggle liquid explosives on board passenger jets began to subside, police were continuing to investigate possible links between the suspects arrested Thursday and al Qaeda operatives.
Authorities in Berlin also confirmed they were checking whether the suspects — 23 of whom remain in custody following the release of one man — had contact with operatives in Germany.

Any military interaction with either Iran or Syria would eventually get Russia ticked off in the case of Syria and both Russia and China in the case of Iran.. The United States has been ‘Gut Shot’
In the old western movies of my youth, the worst possible death was one caused by a ‘gut shot’.
The mental image of the intestinal poisons seeping out of their confinement to destroy the body slowly and painfully was one that most of us wanted to avoid, thus leading us to laud those who allowed the victim a single bullet with which to end his own suffering.
For the past six years, I have watched and waited for some sign that the people of the US had awakened to the mortal peril of continuing the path upon which they embarked in December 2000.
I have seen little or no increase in the awareness of the people and much to my dismay, the situation is becoming one that reminds me of a person or animal that has been ‘gut shot’.
The vitriol, lies, distortions of truth, and denigration of opposition by those in the media, as well as the political echo chamber from which these memes emerge, are focused on one simple idea. That idea is this: America is right, all the time,
irrespective of all other considerations. Those who seek to understand WHY the international community is wary of the US are demonized as ‘weak on terror’ or un-American. The situation has progressed to such a point that even those with solid, intellectual arguments and evidence are stifled by media figures who are eminently unqualified to even offer an informed comment on such matters (See Fox, Tucker Carlson and others).
I weep for this once wonderful nation. As the younger son of an eastern European immigrant family, I was raised to be grateful to the US for ‘taking us in’. There were many times when I wept upon hearing the national anthem, and proudly stood, with my face burning and vision blurred, facing my flag.
What has happened to my country? Where have those people gone, who in the not-so-distant past, would happily help their fellow men? What happened to the REAL principles related to helping each other during the hard times?
Have we become so selfish and ignorant that nothing matters as long as our cars have sufficient gas, our iPods have tunes, our cell phones are the latest greatest model?
These are the signs of a slow, anemic, societal death. The turning inward of sight, and the denigration of external input are signs of the type of focus one often finds in animal communities, much like lemmings. Humans are not lemmings, though. Humans are capable of learning from their mistakes, given sufficient incentive to do so. As I learned many years ago, pain is a great motivator. As in the old westerns, the worst pain results from a ‘gut shot’.
In today’s world, the wound needn’t be mortal, but the necessary remedies must be procured, and applied in a timely manner. The pain is great, but the wound can be cleansed.
There are a number of remedies that I would embrace:
1) Regulation of the media, through a return to the Fairness Doctrine
2) Nationalization of the Oil industry
3) Heavy regulation of corporate business. Responsibility of owners/managers for white collar crimes.
4) A restructuring of the American educational system, with the abolition of standardized tests, as in NCLB.
Coupled with a abolition of these tests, a rigorous testing schedule for students, and penalties for failure to perform. Increase the protection of teachers from parental lawsuits. Allow, and in fact, encourage teachers to return to the real subject matter, rather than teaching to a meaningless test.
5) National health care
6) Many others, but the point has been made, I believe.
The changes must be implemented soon, and the true will of the people imposed on the current system in order for the wounds to heal. If the International community perceives that the effort is being made to return to sanity,
I suspect that the patient will be encouraged to heal, and in fact, will be honored for the efforts.

The logic of invading Cuba because of the human rights violations at Guantanamo seems perfect for the neoCONS. I hope we don’t hear that from Rove or Cheney this week.:omg:
Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah said Saturday that the Islamic militant group will abide by a U.N. cease-fire resolution but will continue fighting as long as Israeli troops remained in south Lebanon.
Nasrallah grudgingly accepted the cease-fire plan in a televised address as the Lebanese Cabinet was in session to vote on whether to agree to the U.N. resolution. Hezbollah has two ministers in the government.
“We will not be an obstacle to any (government) decision … but our ministers will express reservations about articles that we consider unjust and unfair,” he said.
The U.N. Security Counciladopted a resolution seeking a “full cessation” of violence between
Israel and Hezbollah on Friday, offering the region its best chance yet for peace after a month of fighting that has killed nearly 900 people and inflamed Mideast tensions.

Oregon GOP resolution called racist, ignorant
By JOSEPH B. FRAZIER | Associated Press
August 12, 2006
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Labor and pro-immigrant groups on Friday denounced a resolution by the Oregon Republican Party to deny citizenship to American-born children of noncitizen immigrants, calling it a symptom of ignorance and racism and representative of a broader pattern of anti-immigrant sentiment.
While some speakers said they doubt it will become law, they said it could be used as a wedge to divide the state and could lead to other problems.
“This resolution exposes the Oregon Republican Party as a hateful, misinformed party that is too extreme for Oregon,” said Chris Ferlazzo of Jobs for Justice, a coalition of more than 80 labor and immigrant rights groups that supports immigrant causes.
Amy Langdon, the party’s executive director, called the resolution “more of a statement to let people know where we stand.”

OK, let’s see if this works.
Yep, looks like it does.
Nope, afraid not. MM wins by 8 seconds.
Ok Lets see what happens if I respond .. respond .. respond .. respond,,
So is there a tree view and a non tree view option for viewing ??
Can you make the font in the add comment text box larger ??
Not at the moment, although I could probably look at adding that.
Hey! I’m back online! Took me half the friggin day 😡 Now I’m hungry.
Whew! Who’s got bad breath??
Not me, I just got here. 😀
Hey Kevin!
Just when you thought the Katherine Harris “campaign” couldn’t sink any lower, they come up with a new mistake to try.
RACISM!
CRUELLA WATCH!:omg:
From Saturday’s St Petersburg Times.
http://tinyurl.com/laplm
Cruella’s staffers, at least the few she has left, may want to take some notes:
1) Florida has lots of voters of Hispanic descent. LOTS.
2) Many of them are specifically of Cuban descent, and tend to vote Republican unless they are given a reason not to do so. Such as this kind of shit.
3) Sometimes in Hispanic families, the children are given the last name of the mother, rather than that of the father. I don’t know whether or not this was the case with Will McBride, but my point is that it’s not a good idea to assume things about ethnic cultures unless you actually KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THAT CULTURE.
And most importantly…
4) Your candidate is digging her grave fast enough on her own. She does not need her staffers to help her dig it any deeper.
Having said that…
:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
HI Krista! Nice to have you back. I’m hungry too. Let’s go get lunch.
Okay, how ’bout sushi
OK, but you might have to help me out with that. I’ve never had it. Not really down with eating raw fishies, but I might be OK as long as it’s just certain parts of the fishies. I saw a recipe yesterday for broiled trout that involved cooking the entire fish, head and all, and serving it that way on the plate. I can’t eat something that’s looking at me.
Yeah, the whole fish thing is hard on me too. I can’t deal with a whole lobster either. I don’t like tearing something limb from limb to eat it.
Okay, I’ve been screwing with this all morning and I just tried to call Cocks Cable to get a little help with my problem getting to email and they say they don’t support the computers that are wirelessly hooked up to the ma8in computer:mad: :fu:
I can get online and browse but I can’t get to any of my email accounts. I keep getting the “cannot connect to server” page when I sign in. I can’t even get to yahoo mail or messaging. Does anyone know what settings may be involved in this? I can’t figure this one out.
Hey, I’m having that same problem, too.
hey
what about downloading to POP

hey i’m blogging from phone!
4:17 p.m. Nearly 100 Israeli soldiers were wounded in heavy fighting in Lebanon on Saturday, the highest one-day injury toll of the monthlong war, Israel Radio reported. The military confirmed more than 70 soldiers were hurt. In addition, at least seven Israeli soldiers were killed Saturday, including two crushed in a tank accident.
3:37 p.m. Hezbollah said its guerrillas shot down an Israeli military helicopter in southern Lebanon. The aircraft was shot down in the Maryamein valley near the village of Yater, and other helicopters scrambled to the area to try to rescue the crew. The Hezbollah claim, carried on Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV, gave no other details. Israeli officials later confirmed the incident.

It looks like Israel’s lingering attempt to gain land further into Lebanon is running into a little opposition.. The bathrooms at the pentagon must be busy..:eek::eek::crap::crap::crap::yuck::rant1:

Depending on what email program you are using you have to establish the accounts on the host machine ( your computer)..
Usually the incoming email account is of the type pop3.email.xxx.xom
And the out going email is of the type
smtp.email.xxx.com
where xxx is the name of the provider.
You also have to setup your user name and passwords for each account..
In outlook and outlook express that’s done under tools—> accounts
The messenger services require the same kind of setup.

we’re on a Wizard of Oz thing …. acting out a revisionist version of the movie… long story. It’s fun though
“Israel will halt its war in Lebanon at 7 a.m. Monday (midnight EDT Sunday night), a senior Israeli government official said,” according to the Associated Press.
“The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the sensitive matter with reporters,” continued the AP report.

Yeah right …:eek::eek::yuck::yuck::crap::peace:
In the movie WIZARD of OZ, the FMR demanded “Surrender Dorothy.” I was avoiding Susan on the blog yesterday. She did corner me, and demanded that I submit (to her). So I played on the phrase, and said “I surrender, Dorothy.” That is about it. Nothing embarrasing.
I surrender, Dorothy.
I surrender, Susan.

How to Deal with the Zionist Lobby
by Jean Bricmont
[…] Why is Israel so hated? The constant stalling of “peace plans” in favor of more settlements and more war aggravates that hatred, but the basic cause lies in the very principles on which that state is build. There are basically two arguments that have justified establishing the State of Israel in Palestine: one is that God gave that land to the Jews, and the other is the Holocaust. The first one is deeply insulting to people who are profoundly religious, like most Arabs, but of another creed. And, for the second, it amounts to making people pay for a crime that they did not commit.
Both arguments are deeply racist, with their claim that it is right for Jews, and only Jews, to set up a state in a land that would obviously be Arab, like Jordan or Lebanon, if not for the slow Zionist invasion. This is illustrated by the “law of return”: any Jew, anywhere, having no connection with Palestine whatsoever, and not suffering from the slightest persecution, can, if he so wishes, emigrate to Israel and easily become a citizen, while the inhabitants who fled in 1948, or their children, cannot. Add to that the fact that a city claimed to be Holy by three religions has become the “eternal capital of the Jewish people” (and only them) and one should start to understand the rage that all this provokes throughout the Arab and Muslim world.
It is precisely this racist aspect that infuriates most Arabs, even if they do not have any personal connection to Palestine (if they live, say, in the French banlieues). This situation delegitimizes the Arab regimes that are impotent in the face of the Zionist enemy and, after the defeat of the region’s two main secular leaders, Nasser and Saddam Hussein (the latter thanks to the US), leads to the rise of religious fundamentalism…

Hey Krista, sorry to cut and run. Actually, the crap computer I was posting on threw me out, and when I got back in I couldn’t get back onto the blog to post.
But thanks for the dinner idea. I had fish, although not raw, with rice and green beans with lemon. Very tasty.
What’s all this talk about surrender? Don’t let the Chimp in Chief hear you say that. He would think it unmanly.
He’d like to say more, but it’s time for his bike ride. He rode four blocks yesterday, and didn’t get his pants leg caught in the chain once! He’s such a talented boy.
I have to go play Cheap Trick, because the word SURRENDER is now stuck in my brain. Thanks, everyone.

These particular points brought out in this post are so concise and truthful – I think they can be important points to remember when debating with the Gung-Ho Israel crowd. Unfortunately I think these points will anger them to the point where they accuse me of being antisemitic self-hating and all kind of real conversation ceases. That’s what I’m afraid of.
Druid, hang on a minute, I’ll give you the web address for Marc Maron on My Space

Cut and paste function does not work, either.
Okay, now that I’ve putzed around with this computer all day, maybe I should get something done!
Nicki, see PJ’s post at the beginning of today’s blog – he said that he’s making changes. The editing function: might have something to do with javascript being disabled on your computer. At least you’re able to post now, though
Sean I WILL NOT join My Space to leave a message … A friend yesterday “Talked to me like a 2yr old” to get me to VIEW his site. Maybe oneday but probably NOT, and definitely not today.
I have other “ways and means.”
That is the only reason why I was able to find you, is because I was “talked” through finding someone on My Space. I left my main e-adr then can he call you and you can coalese. (eck :rofl2:) I thought since you didn’t contacted me you weren’t interested.
Kristapea , How’s young/old “pup”? …and You:wink:
Miss Jane isn’t doing so well. She is on prednisolone just to keep her somewhat comfortable, although it’s hard to tell. I think I may have to put her down soon. I am observing her quality of life daily and am not sure when it’s right to euthanize her. Arthritis is filling in the joint where her spine meets her hips and probably pinching a nerve. She is still wobbly even though she has the use of 3 legs so the other leg will probably deteriorate also. Doc says he wouldn’t even recommend a surgery on a dog her age(14-15) with kidney problems. So, I’m just trying to make her as comfortable as possible and enjoy her while she’s still here. This one will be hard. 🙁
yes we need a Jane report- so great you are back Kristapea.
My computer is disabled; I am lame when it comes to computers.
I quit! :fu:
“RING OF FIRE” My now Favorite Show is “streaming” but no sound 🙁
I am streaming AAR off the majorityreportradio site and its playing the commercial porno music.:eek::yuck::peace:

ANSWER’s Middle east policy protests today in San Fran and DC are being characterized by the Reich wing media .. M$RNC, FAUX and CNN as pro Hezbollah rallies..as apposed to policy rallies.. of course if ANSWER is involved it looks like the Stalinist are demonstrating. It will be interesting to see how many people attended.:eek::eek:

Kristapea, That’s what I was fearing, that it might be coming to her time. I had to release many animals since I have had many animals. And I legally died numerous times when I was 16yrs. And sense/since seen many passings human and Pals and Pal Animals and…
BUT SHE WILL HAVE A GOOD DEATH. Some vets do house visits. Death is a part of Life. They are fine, it is only those that remain on this plane that miss them and the space they occupy in our life.
Just to remember that when she passes she is still around. Talk to her, she will heal you as dear friends do always. And light a candle on the day she may pass and on Samhain (Halloween)
A good Irish wake is also a key (even on this blog) :alc::wink:
Whenever she is called to go…you will know. Above is my email adr, and I do have ulimited calling.:embrace:
The TSA wants to ban all fluids combustible or otherwise from airplane flights .. I wonder if that includes the 5,000 gallons of so of kerosene that each plane usually carries to get from point A to point B.
We could mount a republican facing backward under each wing… the hot air coming out of their mouth might work.:eek::eek::alc::nixon::peace:
Kristapea just found your Jane post above. What a stressful time for you…I have been there too with my old animals and it is such a tough call to make.
What do ya’ think about nine o’clock?

Yep. OK.
I don’t see any of this threading, business do you?
PJ had the threading working about mid afternoon but it had a run time error so I think we reverted back to the old format
Huh? Threading business?:knit2:

Threading? I can turn it back on. Having a problem trying to give the user the option of viewing it threaded or not threaded, but it’s giving me hassles. Been doing ASP all summer, and now I’m trying to remember PHP, damnit.
No PCP, though, right? Then we’d have some blogger damage:eek:

Hey everyone…back from an interesting day in NYC shopping with the old man….and I mean Hi and not Will….ha!…though they often act very similar.
It was a beautiful day and alot of people are seemingly gone from the city, so the driving and everything was pretty easy.
Took grandpa to 4 markets looking for day old bread and sale sour cream. Its his hobby, and its our quality time together…..
Seanie, Im so glad that you got your a/c fixed…Will awas wondering today if you were coming for Marc’s show so you could play video games with him but I told him that I thought you were with Barry Manilow or something on the west coast :rofl2:
Anyway, he should be pretty happy with the surprise guest coming from the sauter’s…and I dont mean Siggy!
And Seanie, if that was a video game friendly as opposed to shooting into a Friendly’s restaurant, as in sniper, then its OK…otherwise we may have to take away your AK 47’s……
Sblue, where is your photobucket? I want to see!
:nixon:video game friendly!
Click on the word cute in #190- travis taught me how to make a shorter link:banana:

Yet another “our electorate is so fucking stupid” story. Remind me again: What’s the point of saving this great civilization of in-bred demented yahoos?
Benjamin Franklin said that our republic would last only 200 years. Smart man, and he nearly hit the nail on the head. We are toast.
And how was the election in Conn. even close??
Karl Rove is right and we’re wrong. We not only deserve GW Bush as our president, he should by all rights be succeeded by his depraved convict brother. We’re no better than Freakin’ Haiti.
I’m grinding my teeth, and i didn’t even find out yet who Timmuh has on tom’w.
Have a nice night.
Wow, that’s amazing Cresttwo. 😮 All it takes is a little bit of thought.

Uncovering Big Foot: Fact or Fiction?

Most people have seen the grainy black and white film clip. A large, very hairy animal is sprinting away. Standing upright, it stops mid-stride, does its best Marlon Brando while looking over one shoulder, and then glares directly into the camera’s eye. Bigfoot-fact or fiction?
Bigfoot has been sighted in different regions under different names such as Sasquatch or Yeti. The bipedal human-like creature is so popular there is a Sasquatch Information Society at http://www.bigfootinfo.org. The site has a sightings data base that includes all fifty states. People can log in and record their latest encounters. History on the animal and media information can be found.
Even though most people are aware of Bigfoot, it may be surprising to know that sightings still occur rather frequently. In Massachusetts on July 3, 2006 the hairy guy was spotted and in Tennessee it made an appearance on July 6. An exhibit is being held in Idaho at the Idaho Museum of Natural History. The display opened in June and while the museum has not taken a pro or con stand on Bigfoot’s existence, a large collection of memorabilia can be seen. Sightings have been recorded all over the United States as well as Canada, China, Russia, and Australia.
Those lucky enough to run into the beast say it stands about 8-9 feet tall. It has two very large feet, stands upright like a human, and appears to be quite muscular. Hair covers the entire body including the feet and the palms of its hands. Apparently it is not fond of Old Spice or Axe as it has been stated that Bigfoot has a body odor similar to the smell of sewage and feces.
The term Bigfoot has been in use since the early 1920’s. In the Pacific Northwest several encounters happened near an area called Ape Canyon in 1924. The word Sasquatch has also been in use since the 1920’s. Sasquatch is the term used for the creatures sighted in Canada. JW Burns, a school teacher at a Chehalis, WA reservation, first used the word.
Krista- sorry about Jane. You know, my Coco died last year at 16 and she had been with me through everything….So, I know how hard it is.
My vet is so wonderful and he told me all along that I would know when it was the right time to put her down. I didnt have to make the decision ultimately, but everyone I talked to about it said the same thing…that it becomes apparent.
Maybe if you also gave Jane some Rimadyl or something along with the cortisone, she owuld feel more comfortable. You may find that she becomes incontinent on the cortisone and might just need a pain killer rather than that sort of antiinflammatory. Of course, dont every just take her off of it. She would have to be withdrawn slowly, and its probably best to keep her on some form of it.
There is a med called Mezapryl or something like that that is a new antiinflammatory and pain killer…I can try to find the actual name if you want to ask you vet.
Keeping her ocmfortable is the most important thing, but feeling incontinent is bad for a dog’s emotional state….not to mention your’s!
has she been tested for Lyme disease?
Speaking of which, Sandy, my troubled middle child Chihuahua, has been projectile vomiting water and food…tons of it…a piece of rawhide just came out and I hope thats what it was.
If not, then shes drinking a ton of water for some unknown reason that will surely take a thousand dollars to diagnose…and will likely involved lots of expensive medicines not covered by her expensive health insurance.
I have 5 more dogs here and none of them can replace Coco….The problem with dogs is that they dont live long enough!
That was part of my reasoning in getting birds.
Of course, then I lost Tweet 1 to a heart attack…so, anything can happen…and birds are so delicate. But, Im hoping to get lucky and have these with me until Im old…..just someone to drive around the country in a motor home with when I retire from….?………
❗
sblue….is that they gay pride parade?….Thats sorta what its like in NYC…but…on a bike? Im not a guy, but it seems like one could shift on one’s seat wrong and it would HURT!!
It was the Solstice parade.
Nothing like that today though.
Just some weird looking bicycles and Fat Tire beer:40:
I went grocery shopping instead.
Thanks for the suggestions M4elina. I will ask about them. One thing *I worry about is if she goes outside and lays down or falls down and can’t get back up. She may die4 of dehydration. I told my friend to check the back yard for her when he comes home.

I can post now. Not so sure next time.
Kristapea, I do not know what happened to a posting…probably got erased by going from one Window to another.
But an Ol’ Vet would say, for arthritis give aspirin, according to size of Pal.
Malloy rerun. Time to go to White Rose. Missed Palast last night.
Will this be the last time?:omg:
Just in case I can’t post again: Goodbye! Nice blogging with everyone.
Look at those who organize for a better future, cresttwo; rather than trashing the common people. The system B. Franklin criticized was set up to disempower the majority. “The Great beasts”. You have the freedom to get rich. Yippee! You are a deviant if you do not think this is a good thing. You are a criminal if you work to change it.
its saturday of course its a rerun!
nite all…..

Fresia, Jerry. Toward an American Revolution: Exposing the Constitution and Other Illusions. Boston: South End Press, 1988.
Fresia brings the Iroquois Great Law of Peace into his discussion of the U.S. Constitution’s ideological shortcomings. On pages 75 and 76, he writes: “For the Iroquois, the concept of ‘the people’ meant something very different from what the Framers had in mind. Their law and custom provided for the relatively equitable distribution of wealth, universal suffrage, and a confederation of states similar to the one described in the Articles [of Confederation].” Fresia quotes Cadwallader Colden (in 1727) on Iroquois notions of liberty, treatment of leaders as servants of the people, etc., referencing Forgotten Founders [1982, 1987].
:banana:sinner man where you gonna run to!
Benjamin Franklin was 81 at the time delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia sought his blessing. Only a few years earlier — roughly the span of time between the first Clinton administration and today — he had helped Thomas Jefferson draft the Declaration of Independence.
Although he agreed to support the Constitution, his view was dim: “I believe further that this is likely to be well administered for a Course of Years and can only end in Despotism as other Forms have done before it, when the People shall become so corrupted as to need Despotic Government, being incapable of any other.”
Maybe on that day, Benjamin Franklin was cranky. Maybe the man who invented bifocals had binoculars into the 21st century.
But more likely, with a lifetime of experience behind him, Franklin had seen enough revolutions born of moral enthusiasm to know which was the greater threat to democracy.

* Hale Boggs, House majority leader and a member of the Warren Commission, was killed in a plane crash in Alaska in 1972. He had begun to express public doubts about the Warren Commission’s findings.
* J.A. Milteer, the far-right Miami activist, died when his heater exploded in February 1974. As mentioned above, he predicted an attempt on JFK’s life and the capture of a scapegoat shortly before events in Dealey Plaza-and a man looking a lot like him was picked up by the police that November afternoon.
* Clay Shaw, whom Garrison brought to trial as a prime suspect in a JFK conspiracy, died of cancer in August 1974. Unable to prove Shaw’s CIA connections, Garrison saw him acquitted in 1969. But just a year after Shaw’s death, a high-level CIA defector, Victor Marchetti, confirmed Shaw’s ties to the agency.
* Sam Giancana, Mafia boss of Chicago, was shot to death in the basement of his home while in the Federal Witness Protection Program in June 1975. At the time of his murder, Giancana was scheduled to testify to the Senate Intelligence Committee on the ClA’s alliance with the Mafia in an attempt to kill Castro.
* John Roselli, a Mafia lieutenant of Giancana’s, was dismembered, stuffed into an oil drum and dropped into the ocean off Miami in July 1976. Roselli was the Mafia’s contact man for its assassination projects with the CIA and was scheduled for a second appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee when he was killed.
* George de Mohrenschildt, who befriended Oswald in Dallas, was found dead of a gunshot wound, deemed self-inflicted, in March 1977. Two hours before his death, an investigator for the House Assassinations Committee came to interview him about the JFK case, but de Mohrenschildt was not at home. In a manuscript found afterwards, de Mohrenschildt supported Oswald’s view of himself as “a patsy.”
* Charles Nicoletti, also on the House Committee’s witness list, was shot three times in the back of the neck in the parking lot of a suburban Chicago shopping center in March 1977-less than 48 hours after de Mohrenschildt’s death. Nicoletti was said to have been a “handler” (that is, supervisor) of Mafia assassins in the ClA-Mafia plots.
* Carlos Prio Socarras, a president of pre-revolutionary Cuba, was found dying of a pistol shot in April 1977, just six days after Nicoletti was gunned down. Prio’s death was ruled a suicide. He, too, was on the House Committee’s
Americans are conditioned to see our present form of government as a representative democracy. We’re almost incapable of understanding that:
* we live in a plutocracy
* the United States Constitution was deliberately constructed so that the nation is ruled by the wealthy
Norman Livergood
“We see then, that in the context of the struggle for independence, the specific aspirations of common people put them into conflict with the people we think of as the ‘Founding Fathers’ or Framers. The Sons of Liberty, the Loyal Nine, and the Boston Committee of Correspondence and other such groups which the Framers organized were rooted in the ‘middling interests and well-to-do merchants’ and upper classes. They have been wrongly described as revolutionary. The truth is that they took great measures to keep the peace and defuse revolutionary tendencies. As mass resistance to British policies mounted, for example, they urged, ‘No Mobs or Tumults, let the Person and Properties of your most inveterate Enemies be safe.’ Sam Adams agreed. James Otis urged, ‘No possible circumstances, though ever so oppressive, could be supposed sufficient to justify tumults and disorders . . .’ The Boston Committee of Correspondence actually did its best to contain and control the militancy of activists involved in the Boston Tea Party.”
