John Prescott has given vent to his private feelings about the Bush presidency, summing up George Bush’s administration in a single word: crap.

Tri State Airport Evacuated
Tri-State Airport in Wayne County has been evacuated. A perimeter has been set up, and evacuees are being asked to stand back 350 feet from the airport.
The Transportation Security Administration reports that a passenger’s water bottle screened positive for an explosive material around 9:15 this morning. A second test was confirmed at 11:25. TSA is waiting for further testing to determine the exact substance.
NBC News reports that federal screeners found four containers of liquids inside a woman’s carry-on bag during the screening process this morning. Larry Salyers, Tri-State Airport Director, tells WSAZ the woman is of Pakistani origin, lived in Jackson, Michigan and most recently lived in the Huntington area. She is being detained for questioning.
The flight in which the woman was going to board was on its way to Charlotte, North Carolina with a final destination of Detroit, Michigan.
FBI officials are on scene.
At least one flight has been diverted to Yeager Airport in Charleston. Salyers says it is uncertain when the airport will resume operations.

Big Eddy seems to be saying that after a rapid rise in stations syndicating his Jones radio network that the stations he is on have almost just as suddenly started dropping him from the line up.. The most ofter reason being that the sponsors have not noticed many people saying they bought something because they heard about it on the Ed Shultz show. He attributes it to “bad management” and having sports programs and other local things preempting his program ( at 3 – 6 pm ???)..
The Reich wing people said up front that people would eventually quit listening to the whining liberals.. .. I think they were probably right..
The sponsors are also not advertising to the right market.. Unless the intended market was the people on the left lying around the pool and/or the pool table waiting on their dividend / social security checks..

The City and or state may not have sufficient capitalization to repair the item and the item will have to be closed or torn down.. We are now competing with China for a dwindling supply of oil. Our natural resourses are finite. I’m hopeful I won’t be around to see the dark days ahead. I fear for the children born this day. Their future will only be brighter if the people in power wake up. I am not hopeful that such will occur. We live for the day. And leave tomorrow for someone else to worry about. We can’t do that with the problems we face now. We must step up to the plate.

Hey Cnick! The Christians are relentless in the South. I remember when I lived in Atlanta, actually Norcross outside of. And the Baptists would knock on our door every Sunday morning at 7 am and ask, “Will the children be coming to Sunday School today?” and my mother would always say something nasty to them. But the bastards came every damned Sunday and it really struck me as so incredibly arrogant(though I didn’t know the word arrogant at the time) that I’ve had an unfavorable opinion of christianity ever since. ButI have a more favorable view of Catholicism because I would sometimes go to church with my best friend, who was Catholic and her mother would make the BEST breakfast after church and that’s pretty much the only reason I went to church with my friend. The sermon was so freaking boring I couldn’t stop yawning, it was awful! And I didn’t know the words to any of the hymns and had to just move my mouth as if I were singing.:priest:

Thing about the oil situation is that we won’t likely be able to extract ALL of the oil before the cost effectiveness is lost. We may have half the oil left, but it is the hardest half to extract. That, along with the population explosion makes for a pretty simple equation equalling DOOM. Like the glaciers suddenly melting a lot quicker than expected, I think the world economy could be screwed sooner and more suddenly than we think.
And the thought occured to me that maybe these neocons are trying to cut down on the popluation with their wars and pharmeceutical interests and bankrupting the country.

My Mom was raised Catholic and shes pretty much fallen…though less as she gets older…..Her father, Gramps, was an atheist and scientist and he really saw things clearly. I tedn to think that its just a big mistake and Ive never been ble to wrap my mind around it.
We are not necessarily all that pure and giving and loving, like our pet animals, but I guess that we supposedly have the capacity to be good and Jesus tells us to strive for this perfection.

The North Eastern catholics tend to be much more liberal and though they go and do all the church stuff, they believe that God is all forgiving and understands the things that go on…like birth control etc….though alot of them are sorta self flagellating for not being able to toe the line.
I just dont believe that a God could exist with all of these human-like rules….why would WE be so important as opposed to anything else….its a little fishy to me….If God talked to Man and man wrote it down, I cant believe that it wasnt colored by what man wanted or needed at that time…just as they change it as they go.
People are just really scared and they need to know why they are poor and why they cant pay the medical bills.
But then isnt that sorta cowardly when you look at Africa and other third world countries….what are they thinking as they watch their children starve? Is it part of the earth to take back all living things?…or maybe they are too lightheaded and confused from lack of food and water to really think about it at all.
Maybe we need some survival situations in this country to get our minds off of why and just get on with the long walk to the nearest well.

As The 6am Ceasefire Takes Effect… The Real War Begins

The real war in Lebanon begins today. The world may believe – and Israel may believe – that the UN ceasefire due to come into effect at 6am today will mark the beginning of the end of the latest dirty war in Lebanon after up to 1,000 Lebanese civilians and more than 30 Israeli civilians have been killed. But the reality is quite different and will suffer no such self-delusion: the Israeli army, reeling under the Hizbollah’s onslaught of the past 24 hours, is now facing the harshest guerrilla war in its history. And it is a war they may well lose.
In all, at least 39 – possibly 43 – Israeli soldiers have been killed in the past day as Hizbollah guerrillas, still launching missiles into Israel itself, have fought back against Israel’s massive land invasion into Lebanon.
Israeli military authorities talked of “cleaning” and “mopping up” operations by their soldiers south of the Litani river but, to the Lebanese, it seems as if it is the Hizbollah that have been doing the “mopping up”. By last night, the Israelis had not even been able to reach the dead crew of a helicopter – shot down on Saturday night – which crashed into a Lebanese valley.
Officially, Israel has now accepted the UN ceasefire that calls for an end to all Israeli offensive military operations and Hizbollah attacks, and the Hizbollah have stated that they will abide by the ceasefire – providing no Israeli troops remain inside Lebanon. But 10,000 Israeli soldiers – the Israelis even suggest 30,000, although no one in Beirut takes that seriously – have now entered the country and every one of them is a Hizbollah target.
From this morning, Hizbollah’s operations will be directed solely against the invasion force. And the Israelis cannot afford to lose 40 men a day. Unable to shoot down the Israeli F-16 aircraft that have laid waste to much of Lebanon, the Hizbollah have, for years, prayed and longed and waited for the moment when they could attack the Israeli army on the ground…
