It’s Friday, the first day of September, and the start of a three-day holiday weekend for most people, as we (supposedly) celebrate Labor. And Bill and Hillary will be visiting my fair city today, to attend the NY State Fair. They first started coming here back when Bill was still president (and before Hillary was “officially” a candidate for Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s Senate seat). It was kinda cool to have the first family in town for a few days, I must say (yes, they even dragged Chelsea here). I know, I know, Bill Clinton was no liberal (why do the wingnuts continue to insist that he was?), and apart from being a disappointment in lots of respects, some pretty shitty things were passed during his tenure (NAFTA, Welfare “Reform,” and the completion of media deregulation begun under Reagan, among others). But, say what you want about Wild Bill, he is one helluva great speaker, and when he visited other countries, he never made me feel embarassed to be an American. I think he was the best Republican since Eisenhower, at least. Plus, he had Buddy, whose picture we used to have above Siggy’s food bowl.
And Hillary. Ah, I had such high hopes for Hillary. Before she announced her candidacy, she travelled all around these parts – the parts that those of you from downstate NY have sorta kinda vaguely heard about (my favorite, I think, was in the movie Tootsie, where they come up here to visit Jessica Lange’s father in Syracuse – which consists of a barn out in the woods :rofl2:), and she listened to what people had to say, and – amazingly enough – she didn’t say anything. She just listened. When she finally did run for the Senate she came back, and she started talking about jobs and families and education and all the things that she’d been listening to everyone talk about. All the things that were important to us regular folks up here, in one of most economically hard-hit areas of the country (at that time, especially, with manufacturing having all but deserted us).
Poor Rick Lazio never had a prayer. Hillary not only stomped him down in NYC, but she won quite handily up here at the barn in the woods, too. All Lazio’s campaign could muster was that Hillary was a carpetbagger, but what he didn’t quite get was that, up here, Long Island might as well be Chicago, or Arkansas – or Mars. Hillary spoke our language, and seemed to know who we were. And a Republican that can’t win in Upstate NY aint going very far.
But, well, Hillary’s turned out to be even more of a disappointment than Bill was. Until pretty recently, it wouldn’t have taken much to turn my opinion around. All she had to say was, “I was wrong. I handed that madman the keys to the country, and he drove us off a fucking cliff, and I never should have done it, and I’m sorry.” But, no, she polls, and panders, and parses, and I don’t know what it is she’s trying to do, but I don’t want her doing it to me. I’ll vote for Tasini in the primary, and if she’s still way ahead come election time, I’ll vote for Howie Hawkins (and if it’s gonna be close, then I’ll hold my nose and vote for her on the Working Families Party line, because principle, schminciple, these bastard Republican Bush enablers need to go – then we can work on the Democraps).
So, what the hell. I’ll still take Bill and Hillary over dubya and Laurathorazine. But I’d rather see Marc and Mishna.
Anyhow, go out there and get this Friday over with, and get crackin’ on the weekend.

In January 2005, USA Today reported that documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act revealed that Williams had been paid $240,000 to promote the controversial No Child Left Behind Act (“NCLB”) of the Bush administration. According to USA Today, Williams was hired to “to promote the law on his nationally syndicated television show and to urge other black journalists to do the same.”
As part of the agreement, Williams was required “to regularly comment on NCLB during the course of his broadcasts,” and to interview Education Secretary Rod Paige for TV and radio spots that aired during the show in 2004.”
The contract with Williams was part of a $1 million contract between the U.S. Department of Education and the public relations company, Ketchum.
Melanie Sloan from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington told USA Today that the contract may be illegal “because Congress has prohibited propaganda,” or any sort of lobbying for programs funded by the government. “And it’s propaganda,” she said. Representative George Miller, a member of the House Education Committee, called the contract “a very questionable use of taxpayers’ money” that is “probably illegal.” [4] Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington was founded in 2001 by Melanie Sloan, a former aide to Representative John Conyers (D-MI) and Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY).
After the USA Today revelations, Tribune Media Services terminated its syndication agreement with Williams. In a statement to Editor and Publisher, but not available on its website, TMS stated: “[A]ccepting compensation in any form from an entity that serves as a subject of his weekly newspaper columns creates, at the very least, the appearance of a conflict of interest. Under these circumstances, readers may well ask themselves if the views expressed in his columns are his own, or whether they have been purchased by a third party.”
Williams told Associated Press “even though I’m not a journalist โ I’m a commentator โ I feel I should be held to the media ethics standard. My judgment was not the best. I wouldn’t do it again, and I learned from it.”

My understanding was that the AAR schedule changes, other than throwing Malloy under the bus, will take place effective 9/18. The main change today is that the NYC affiliate switches stations, and AAR listeners will be subjected to the whore Armstrong Williams. But ONLY in New York. Those of us who live elsewhere will still have Rachel (so to speak) for the next couple of weeks.
Although it would be nice if AAR would give us a fucking SCHEDULE so that the few loyal listeners they have left did not have to speculate.
The second Florida Democratic gubernatorial debate has been cancelled. It had been postponed due to Ernesto, but now it has been scrapped entirely because sugar-slut Rod Smith is not willing to particpate due to his campaign schedule.
Jim Davis just got my vote. I was leaning in that direction anyway, but if Smith is not willing to TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES, to hell with him.
The Repigs are already beginning to run attack ads on some of the Dems who don’t have primary opponents. No wonder people don’t want to run for office.

But Father, I don’t think I have been so evil in my life as to deserve to WAKE UP TO FUCKING SAMMY AND ARMSTRONG!!!!
Sorry, that kind of just got blurted out. Sammy sounds like a character from The Bird Cage, so I should try to be tolerant. Or maybe Sally Jesse Rafael, that poor women who lost her child. I’m sorry Father. Okay, five Hail Marys and four Our Fathers. Seems reasonable.
I find it kind of amazing how many “people” on DU only read the board once a week or less. The revelation that Malloy got canned is still resonating over there.:yuck::paranoid:
So, you think they canned Malloy for criticizing Israel?
Uh-oh. Our Hooters failed inspection.
Over 5,000 sigs on the Malloy petition already (though #5029 is somebody named “marc moran”).
In that article that ISI posted they mentioned that someone who unconditionally supports the aggression by Israel is not very progressive. On this blog we have had a lot of visibility of the Israeli lobby and its power to influence people in both parties in the US government. It’s going to be very difficult to convince the US congress that providing unconditional support of Israeli policies will be bad for them. If AAR just becomes the DLC/AIPAC propaganda machine that will make it not very progressive too. :yuck::omg::eek:
So…Im streeaming 1600 and its JERRY!!

On the up side, my dogs are clean and this Guilliani book has made a big splash on MSNBC, so theyre spending alot of time tearing him apart…..
Wingnut Cliff Kincaid seems to think it was Malloy’s interview with Webster Tarpley that got him fired, ‘cuz AAR was looking for money from George Soros and other “pro-Israel” sources, and Mike buggered up the deal.
Of course, Cliffy is a bit of a meathead.

RESENDE, Brazil — As Iran faces international pressure over developing the raw material for nuclear weapons, Brazil is quietly preparing to open its own uranium-enrichment center, capable of producing exactly the same fuel.
Brazil, like Iran, has signed the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, and Brazil’s Constitution bans the military use of nuclear energy.
Also like Iran, Brazil has cloaked key aspects of its nuclear technology in secrecy while insisting the program is for peaceful purposes, claims that nuclear weapons experts have debunked.
While Brazil is more cooperative than Iran on international inspections, some worry its new enrichment capability — which eventually will create more fuel than is needed for its two nuclear plants — suggests that South America’s biggest nation may be rethinking its commitment to nonproliferation.
“Brazil is following a path very similar to Iran, but Iran is getting all the attention,” said Marshall Eakin, a Brazil expert at Vanderbilt University. “In effect, Brazil is benefitting from Iran’s problems.”

its crazy to speculate why the fired malloy knowing how they make decisions over there….yeah, if sponsers are pulling spots then its financila…but in this atmosphere, when youre starting up a sattion like this, shouldnt it be figured in that you might lose sponsoers along the way? When did it become a situation where money was such a big issue?…..This tihng started with the understanding that it was gonna take at least 5 years or so to break even…if everything fell in place….then all the screwups and along the way the board got this idea that maybe they could not only be profitable but could wring some extra cash out of it.
Its a long term investment guys….you dont get a return this quick or at all. Thats showbiz…its high risk and often needs infusions over infusions of cash along the way. But if it works, then you make out great after 10 years and you get to have been part of something big and important.
Since peopleseem to make decisions over there by how much they like how someone looks or whatever…how much like Imus they sound….I have trouble believing that there is any organized thought in this besides that maybe someone’s wife was upset by something he said, and manecheweitz pulled the borscht ads…..
These are people who cant even have an intern send out a pree release…nor have they finished making decisions….
What the fuck does Sam Seder mean when he says the “RIGHT PERSON” will be in that slot??????
Did he say anything last night?
Is Jeaneane hosting tonight?…she was apparentlyon with O’donnell yesterday…Mom told me but Ill have to listen while I go and try to move stuff in the basement in preparation for the impedning flood..
PJ- I was just thinkig of how depressing it is to not even be able to find Army…..Springer is human garbage…and I had a huge fight with Mom yesterday about if he was good or not….she wants to convince me that hes actually good…..huh?
Here is a song for this dreary day…..
WWRL has its own live feed. According to their page, Sam and Army are on 5 to 9 AM, with brother Jerry on 9 to noon.
oh well…the same old same old, with gospell in the car…..
Ive had it…..not feeling too well today, I guess….
This young attorney in Fairfield CT went in his neighbor’s house and stabbed him a ton of times…because the wife told him that the 2 year old daughter had said some troubling things that indicated that he had molested her. He was apparently an out of control wacko…and the young attorney just went crazy…didnt call police or anything.
The police found him by his kitchen sink in a daze covered in blood with a kitchen knife nearbay…
Of course hes got homeboy Mickey Sherman as counsel right away…
I was just reading about this in the local paper and suddenly its all over MSNBC….uh-oh…another slow news day and another strange guy bites the dust….but the young attorney was so normal seeming…..the last person to go crazy and go around and above the law…
I say its a definite insanity defense….
Good old Mickey….
There are 3 or 4 stories in the local paper with the bigger local crimes…and Mickey is the attorney for all of them!
PJ…do we have to change our settings on replay?…I mean, of course when the schedule changes….but the stream from AAR’s site just comes from 1600 now…right?
Id better check….
No, the main AAR stream still comes from the same place.
Doesnt this seem just fitting somehow?
I had no idea that Goldfuck was Earle’s manager…and now earle has signed with the company that is partnering with Goldberg on his next mission…so, he delivers Earle to New West, which languishes with Kristofferson and Drive By Truckers (none big sellers, to be sure) and gets his own label in conjunction with them.
I expect that he will bring down that house within a year or so…..and I hope hes enjoying is near 1 mil per year severance package at the same time…….fucker!
Now I wonder if Earle was who brought Danny into this deal in the first place…..hmmmm….sorta kinda makes me wonder….
Too bad we can’t file a class action lawsuit against him, to recoup the money he took while he was killing the network. Think Pap would take it on?
…and in case youre wondering if Im doing anything useful besides sitting here with a growing migraine and unable to move….well, Im learning from MSNBC….thats what Im doing…
Here is the newest thing that is NEWS….and its definitely not made by a guy who has ever changed an infant’s diaper….You gotta be on solid food to make a poop like that!
Melina: AAR and 1600 are not the same thing .. WWRL carries AAR programming in NYC just like KPOJ carries AAR programming in Portland.
AAR is a company that syndicates and produces radio programs located in New York City.. The AAR stream this morning had the same programming on it that it had on it yesterday..
Im afriad that Pap might have been in on it…..hes on the freakin board thats screwing up so strangely and badly…..where is the Pap attack when you need it?
Im sure that Mickey Sherman would be interested…tho he is apparently really busy right now….we might also have to stab goldfarb 20 or 30 times to get him interested….
That looks pretty impressive – more of the kind of thing Siggy would produce than a little human baby. But, maybe she’s got her father’s asshole.
but today’s shows…right fred?…like, not exactly the same…?
I understand…just that now I record from a stream and I listen (ed) in the car to the local station….now I podcast only in the car because I get gospel on 1190 and static on 1600…wah…
They should give everyone free premium…just cut the crap with charging for it.
well, apparently she looks like him…like, something is wrong….according to the National Enquirer. I have to go to the market today to get some stuff so I will check in the rags if she has surfaced yet, besides this metal poop….
I know she looks good because leah rimini and kirstie alley told me so!

PJ- do you know about this digg.com thing? Its interesting, but I can see so rhyme or reason to it…and I dont know how too embed the digg thing in my page so the link is there. They just want to put a list of updating digg stories there…..but maybe the little story icon with each post comes with that. I got it from crooks and liars, and Amato is pushing it, but though Im registered there, and Im getting hits from my rising story of last night, whatever that means, I wonder how to put the digg sign at the bottom of each post, or if one even needs it.
They need to put huge tarriffs on non American cars and imported goods….put Americans back to work…and then realize that we havent educated anyone enough to run the assembly line, much less design cars that dont leak and fall apart. (my beloved Jeep has a leak by the windshield when I spray washer fluid….on the driver’s side, no less!)

When did I ever say that? I just have difficulty getting over there. I work Mon-Fri, and the express buses across the bay only run during the day Mon-Fri. No evenings, weekends or holidays.
And I’m not swimming across the bay until they promise to take all the sharks out.
The Life and Crimes of a Global Goebbels
By RICHARD NEVILLE
The first death known to me, that was precipitated by a Rupert Murdoch headline, occurred in Sydney in March,1964, when a schoolboy committed suicide. More of that later. These days, the casualties resulting from military invasions championed by Murdoch are numbered in the thousands, though he is not the sole agent of destruction. One of his former TV producers in the Middle East, Serene Sabbagh, resigned from Fox recently because of its “bias and racism”.
What tipped Sabbagh over the edge was the bombing of Qana._”As a mother of three, watching the images, the raw images of children being pulled out of the rubble and then I switched to Fox News to hear some of their anchors claiming that these little kids that were killed, these innocent victims that were killed, were human shields used by Hezbollah. And one of the anchors went as far as saying they were planted there by Hezbollah to win support in this war. And it was unbelievable. For me, that was the breaking point”
On August 6, Serene Sabbagh and a colleague sent a joint letter of resignation to Fox News: “Not only are you an instrument of the Bush White House, and Israeli propaganda, you are war mongers with no sense of decency, nor professionalism.” A verdict which is widely echoed. “Fox News has had reporters running around northern Israel chronicling every rocket attack and every Israeli mobilization, but has shown little or no interest in anything happening on the other side of the border”, noted Andrew Gumbel in the UK’s Independent.

Is it now Air Aipac Radio? The Clintonization of Air America?
I remember the struggle against corporatization at Pacifica Radio in the late 1990s. KBOO, the radio station where I am a member, stopped taking the fine evening news show that Pacifica provided. Is anybody leaking what is going on at AAR? Was Mike released becuse he criticized Israel? was critical of the official 9/11 account? held out for more money? Is anybody talking?
A blogger reports on hearing Malloy on Sacramento radio this morning.

Do you think that there is anything to the story that Malloy was terminated because he was not acceptable to a group of wealthy investors negotiating with AAR on a bankrolling deal?
Your post pretty much sums it up. Laura Flanders of Radio Nation taking over Malloy’s slot, largely because she has an independent sponsor. This fall into a pattern we can clearly see for AAR. Hosts who somehow pay their own way.
Mother Jones Radio
David Bender
Jerry Springer
Why the hell did they not make an exception with Malloy? He was such a great fit in the lineup. Also, given the circumstances, will Laura Flanders be willing to take over Mike Malloy’s spot? To scab?
:omg::doh:
Here is a statement from Peter Werbe:
As you probably know, I’m a substitute host for Mike, asked to do to-a week during his vacation. Neither of us imagined that this turn of events was about to occur. I’m what is called an at-will employee, meaning I have no contract and work from day to day at the discretion of my employer, Air America.
I have witnessed numerous dismissals throughout my 36 years in radio, including my own, and it is standard practice to NOT discuss such events on the air. Had I done so, there would have been two people missing from the Air America roster, not just Mike.
There is the largest outpouring of public support for a radio host I’ve seen in my years in radio including when I was fired from the old i.e.America where Mike and I worked. There are online petitions asking Air America to bring Mike back, the blogs are ablaze, and the comment line for Mike’s show is packed with messages.
The petition is at http://www.democraticunderground.com – and the Mike comment line is 212-871-8290 at Air America which has been set up to receive your calls about his dismissal.
Mike, Kathy, and I remain steadfast friends and colleagues through this all, and the two of them understand that I’ve been placed in a difficult situation.
One listener wrote in the subject line of an email to me, “I hope you enjoyed dancing on Mike’s grave tonight.”
Mike knows, and you should as well, that there is nothing in this situation for me but sadness at this.
So, please, do what you need to do to bring Mike back, but email to me or calls during the show aren’t the appropriate place for complaints.
AND VERY IMPORTANT: Like Mike, I’m being swamped with email about this, so there is no need to respond, and, in fact, for once, would appreciate it if you don’t. Thanks.
Peace,
Peter

Plan gains to publicly identify accused
Ohio panel backs registry proposal
BLADE COLUMBUS BUREAU
COLUMBUS – An Ohio legislative panel yesterday rubber-stamped an unprecedented process that would allow sex offenders to be publicly identified and tracked even if they’ve never been charged with a crime.
No one in attendance voiced opposition to rules submitted by Attorney General Jim Petro’s office to the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review, consisting of members of the Ohio House and Senate.
The committee’s decision not to interfere with the rules puts Ohio in a position to become the first state to test a “civil registry.”
The concept was offered by Roman Catholic bishops as an alternative to opening a one-time window for the filing of civil lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse that occurred as long as 35 years ago.
A recently enacted law allows county prosecutors, the state attorney general, or, as a last resort, alleged victims to ask judges to civilly declare someone to be a sex offender even when there has been no criminal verdict or successful lawsuit.
The rules spell out how the untried process would work. It would largely treat a person placed on the civil registry the same way a convicted sex offender is treated under Ohio’s so-called Megan’s Law.
The person’s name, address, and photograph would be placed on a new Internet database and the person would be subjected to the same registration and community notification requirements and restrictions on where he could live.
A civilly declared offender, however, could petition the court to have the person’s name removed from the new list after six years if there have been no new problems and the judge believes the person is unlikely to abuse again.
The attorney general’s office said it continues to hold discussions with a group representing day care operators about one of the rules pertaining to what such facilities would do with information they might receive pertaining to someone on the registry if that person is living nearby.
I guess I will be sleeping a few, since I have barely got sleep most of past several weeks, took skirt off and body said sleep NOW. All be well, later, but I will turn up radio and fall asleep listening to Johnny:!: ๐  ๐
So I am going through TWICE THE WITHDRAWAL this week. No wonder I crave chocolate.
B@B, it’s tough, ain”t it? ๐
In the house I can stream (and will) and also get my Grundig fixed. For now my ride to work is about 15 minutes long so maybe I can do without a new car antenna
Re:119:
ABUSE! ABUSE! ABUSE!
I get frightened when I read proposals like this. Where is my green star?
:pent::sdavid::omg:
scares me shitless. We’re in an era of sexual witchhunts. Move the F out of Ohio if you live there, jeez
http://www.lafayetteelectronic.com/
Goddammit! Do you think the Roberts/Alito SCOTUS will go along with this atrocity?
:omg:
of course…
you know I seem to remember Lafayette stores from when I was a kid, but they left this area some time ago I believe.
pj, i just added your rss (whatever the heck that is) to my yahoo page and so you’re listed up there with the big guys!
 Anybody home?
ok
Hey all (all four of you), hi!:banana:
omigod, we’re down to 2 here…guess everyone else is off starting the weekend
Going…going…have a good weekend! :fire::fire::fire::fire:
honey, Im home!!….
Suz, I think its radio Shack…but I found today that I can get it real staticy in the car at the very bottom of Greenwich, but it comes and goes….and I always lost LIB at night. If its a weak signal, it gets weaker at night for some reason….The best you can do is to podcast via CD in the car or MP3 player. I do ipod from the night before…whihc was fine today because I had Larry ODonnell, and I thought he was great…maybe a little too middle of the road, but smart and interesting. I have all week’s Rachel shows, and some of Sam’s and ….maybe thats it. I guess that this week is a tease because we’ve had Maron around and Janeane was on with O’Donnell, so its almost like the bad old days….
I would invest in an MP3 player before Id invest in an antenna because who knows if it will even work?…its a weak ass station and a disgrace that AAR is down to this.
Brill…what are you wirelessing to in the kitchen?….check ebay for linksys systems dirt cheap…they keep upgrading and if youve got a simple system and dont expect to make any big changes or upgrades soon, you could get a good router and card for next to nothing….
Also…Try to catch Olberman tonight. He has not only a follow up to the Runsfeld story, but a great Oddball….Its on at 8, but then repeated at midnight…after Mahr….dont forget Mahr….
Thanks for the reminder, Melina. I’ll go set the DVR to tape Keith’s repeat at midnight.
My problem with podcasting is that I can’t listen at work, and I’m usually busy in the kitchen in the evening, what with making dinner and cleaning up. So podcasting and listening to day-old shows on CD seems like a lot of work. The whole point of AM radio is you turn it on and it’s right there — unless it’s something special like MS.
I don’t see how AAR can survive. I mean, who do they have now, Sam (for now), Randi, and Franken?
And they’re keeping the f***ing Satellite Sisters on in NY?
:fustrate::fustrate::fustrate::fustrate::smack::mad::mad::omg::crap:
Well, I hate to admit it, but I’m here at the Moon again.:40:
ARGH…well, the podcasting thing is an automatic download, depenind on how you do it. You just attach your player to the computer and the shows just load…..if you have premium….but there are also so many other things such as the NY Times select has podcasts of all the best of the op-eds and colums like modern romance…and our Nick is making a nice little podcast that I listen to…it just appears in my ipod.
If you dont have select you can capture the shows automatically with a program like Replay and just click import and they go right in…..
So, I have a load of stuff usually…its just that Im sick of Rachel doing this goofball thing that she does rather than serious interviews and hard hitting commentary…and I miss Marc so much…and I miss Janeane too….and I cant stand Al or Randi much anymore….but I owuld catch them in the car IF I could get the freakin station.
The New Haven affiliate is no good till Fairfield or so…Im just on the line.
The other thing is XM, which is offering me $6 per month to get me back….I told them to add Marc Maron and Id rejoin at full price!
Well- there ya go man…Maybe G will be playing at open mike tonight, eh?
I just walked to the store as there was no food here for 3 days.
:hot:
Hey Travis…how you doing?…Is the Moon a coffee house or a Bar?
I went to the market today too Blue….
Actually ran out of paper towels and toilet paper….thats bad….
Oh, it’s a bar.
It sounds really cool….are there nice people there? Have you made friends?
No. Not really friends. But the people I’ve met don’t really like the weekend crowd, so I haven’t seen them. I think I’m going to get a pitcher of beer. Yeah, I’m not sure how much it’ll cost though:doh:
I was lucky to get to hang out alot in the east village and also in the clubs in NYC before Guilliani and time turned it all to Disney…..lots of characters and stories there…but I always ended up being friends with the employees:grin:
G is here, Blue.
http://www.myspace.com/bluemoonseattle
Are you sitting next to him?:omg:
No. I saw him across the room. I think I’ll just get another beer. I don’t have fifteen bucks for the pitcher
When does he start singing?
only one picture on the site…they should put some pictures up….
http://www.historylink.org/essays/output.cfm?file_id=1001
Um, I have no idea. I just bought two beers. Oh, well.
Hey, I was thinking that we could rent a boat sometime or something, Blue. I was researching where to get them and the price ranges for ten – one-hundred fifty an hour. I can cover it for a couple hours. I dunno.
I like the little speed boats…people drive them round the LI Sound.
No. I like the paddle or the sail boat:nod:
Sail boat would be good…but I don’t know how to sail really.
Or not. I mean, I dunno.
You know, some of the people here or probably clinically retarded. I don’t want to give the impression that I’m surly or anything, but I think it’s true.
:knit: Either do I.:rofl2: How hard could it be?
Melina are you going to watch Bill Maher soon?
At least you know how to swim:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
Did you get a chance to read some today travis?
A couple pages. I’m sorry. I fell asleep again:doh:
I got to the third chapter, I think, where he was describing his childhood and his affluent home life.
Deadwood is living up to its name tonight.:jason:
I have to do the daily constitutional- what ever that means. Bathroom business. Don’t leave,
That’s good…do you like the writing?
why don’t you just say:crap:
Oh, man. I dunno. I didn’t want to be that graphic. Besides that’s Fred’s tag line.
Yeah, that writing is fine. And I like how you can actually see the print. You know, it isn’t that close together or small print. Like, look at 1984. You can’t see it.:paranoid:
Yea..it’s a nice font.
G is in the back. Should I ask him about the saddle song?
No!:omg:
Why not!:rofl2:
Ask him what kind of pie he likes…:rofl2::rofl2:
I’m going to find an electrical receptacle. Give me a second.
How’s the wiring in that place?:hot:
Bill maher is on…
Well, I just talked to G, and he doesn’t really know what kind of pie he likes. Give me another question!?
I was just trying to be neighborly:knit:
Trish, his girlfriend, said fish-pie, although he has never had it. He just said sheperds’ pie.
Now it’s Mother’s cake, like a huge pie. something. I’m pretty drunk. I don’t know what the hell they’re saying.
Tell him Moose turd pie… I’m serious he will get it:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
:crap:That’s going to make me look like a fool in front of his guests. I’ll do it though. Are you sure?
Yes. It’s a test of his memory..:sammy:
Ask him about Kevin Cunningham
He has not had moose turd pie. He doesn’t remember, and yes it has made me into a fool,
Tell him it was a U UtahPhillips story that we heard at M’town over and over and over again
He left, and now I’m here all alone- well there’s this group that I just made a fool of myself in front of. I dunno. What are you doin’, Heron?
Why?:knit:
Why, what?:rofl2:
This:knit2: and:knit2: that..
Oh, so you’re busy. Ok. I’ll just get more drunk:40: and make more of a fool of myself
Why what were you thinking..what is the alternative?
Stuff- that’s the extent of my thinking. Well, I’m open to anything.
There’s always that movie
Which..what?:billcat::billcat:
Did B crash out again?
Withnail And I… B gave me a ride to 45th. I have to go to the bathroom real quick. Give a minute.
http://www.utahphillips.org/tapecd.html
Is Utah Phillips playing tonight?
Heron!:holla::rofl2:
What!
I’m looking for a story
Story. What? Don’t make up a story, just tell it like it is!
:knit:
I don’t want to get all scatty on a Friday night:billcat:
It’s good though:rofl2:
Ok I’m taking that down now..
So, that was the story behind the pie. Hmmm. ๐
Well, it is Friday. Are you doin’ stuff still?:knit2:
Watching Bill Maher I guess
Oh, OK.
Are you trying to get me out of the house?
Yeah. Was it too subtle?
Bush said he read 60 books in 8 months- Bullshit
Rove must have paraphrased them.
Are you happy where you are?
I’m not down. Why?
:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
New Rules
What? There is no rules- well, maybe that jay walking.
http://www.hbo.com/billmaher/new_rules/
Pee break.:crap: just a minuter
What the hell is a minuter?
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/060820/28presidency.htm
there’s no way I can read that right now. So, you’re just crashed out watching Mahr still?
No it is over:tongue:
Oh, so that means?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0357110/
The ballad of Jack and rose. Hey, that looks like the same kid from that movie last night
Yes:tongue:
Scatty on a Friday night:crap::rofl2:
Time is drifting by. Not good.Throw it down
so…demanding:smack:
No, I’m not. :rant1:
really, it’s drifting by. I guess I’ll just fade out…..I dunno
Fade to what?
fade out of site ’cause people that drift tend to do that.
Wish you were in my site…but I’m really tired- I think it’s this age thing I got going on. I have never felt so tired.
Ok, catch ya later:peace:
:nod::yawn:
I don’t know my way around town, so I’ll just use my youth- while I have it- and hang out here for a little while longer.
Have you heard G sing yet?
Nite all…Im exhausted…just watched olbermann again…Mahr was just so-so….I was underwhelmed.
Not yet, h.:40:
Travis…be sure to drink alot of water and eat something!! OK?
YOu dont want to be hungover tomorrow!
Have fun. I want to know what you think of the Kite book. My friend read it and she loved it.
Yeah, thanks, Melina. I’m accustomed to the drink a little bit. I don’t think there’s water in this place that’s free.
I’ll correspond with ya’ll later.Um, if I make it back from the drift.
OK
It was good, though. :rofl2:
yeah

I’M FROM NEW JERSEY and I’m proud about it, Camden is my home.
Iโm from Camden and I brag about it, no matter where I roam. All of the other towns throughout the nation may mean a lot to some;
But Camden suits me brother much more than any other, I’m glad that’s where I’m from.
What are you listening to? :ear:
WFMU
Just asked, ’cause I’m listening to Marc on Majority Report Thursday. He just taked about Dan Pashman and NJ when you posted. thought it may be a connection. ๐
I was the one who asked the question “Where is Dan Paschman” that he was responding to.
Oh, fuck, this blogger just missed the bus!:omg:
:yuck: I think I’ll just ask someone for a ride. I dunno. Everthing should be cool. I’m still not blogging for a week, though
Just riding the slide. If it takes me somewhere too deep that I can’t get out of– well, you read it here first, before it happened.
Nothing has gone down yet
I’m fucked.:nod:later:peace:
 great question, Niki! so, it was you! great.

At least it’s not a drag
So are you serious about the blogger break?
Yeah. I’ve degraded the blog with all the bullshit I’ve thrown down
Druid never came back..:paranoid::billcat:
Maybe she’s stuck at the bar without cab fare
Don’t take a self exiled break. This week I moved house. I took a break. But it was not about self censored control. ๐ฎ
Go buy something at the grocery store and get cash eh?
I’m sure you haven’t eaten..
I mean, with all the moose turds that I’ve thrown down.
Ok.
You know Nicki and I have talked about Utah Phillips before so he knows that story…
A part time roommate of mine worked for AlaskaAir and sold moose turds as Chinese medicine. She paid her rent with the money.
:alc:
Oh and the best idea are the canoes at the UW which I think we can do with my alumnai pass.
:rofl2:
:fire:
That’s funny, kong.
Hey which way is the nearest store?
Really. When?
50th and Brooklyn NE Safeway..
Go up 45th and left on Brooklyn…3 blocks or so east and 3 blocks north
Soon..
:barf: What? Rudimentary is all I can comprehend right now. So, I walk where?
It was the early 90s, 93-4 when she was a roomie. The landlord was a buyer. โ
Out the door- take a left…pass Roosevelt, and the 11th and 12th the Left at Brooklyn (Hotel and Key bank).
The walk towards the Chevron station and Safeway is just beyond.
Let us know when you have landed safely…
OK. I’ll be back… sometime.
Thanks:peace:
time for me to go to a ‘picnic’. Off to the shower.
Change of Direction
Q: What are the core principles of particpatory economics? Could you briefly describe how these principles help promote the values you think are important?
Michael Albert: The idea of participatory economics, or parecon, is to try to describe institutions for production, allocation, and consumption that get those tasks done in ways that fulfill and develop human potentials while enlarging solidarity, diversity, equity, self management, ecological balance, and internationalism. A pareconish commitment therefore entails that we reject institutions which fail in these regards. For example, one wouldn’t have these values and propose slavery as a good system for producing cotton. Slavery can obviously get cotton produced, yes, but at the cost of the values.
Similarly, it turns out that private ownership of productive assets, corporate divisions of labor, remuneration for bargaining power, property, or even output, top-down decision making, and market or centrally planned allocation also violate the values. So this approach of parecon pushes us past familiar economic systems and requires that we conceive new institutions.
:gate: Good morning Kong!
good evening/morning

Hey Susan!

Goodnight, Heron.:peace:
Men at arms shout “Who goes there?”
We have journeyed far from here
Armed with bibles make us swear
Chorus:
Candy and Cathy we hope you both are well
Please, come see me, in the Citadel
Flags are flying dollar bills
From the heights of concrete hills
You can’t see the pinnacles
Chorus:
Candy and Cathy we hope you both are well
Please, come see me, in the Citadel
In the streets of many walls
Here the peasants come and crawl
You can hear their numbers called
Chorus:
Candy and Cathy we hope you both are well
Please, come see me, in the Citadel
Screaming people fly so fast
In their shiny metal cars
Through the woods of steel and glass
Chorus:
Candy and Cathy we hope you both are well
Please, come see me, in the Citadel
Oh well…
