OK, anybody out there running a Shoutcast server on linux, let me know. I have the damn thing set up and configured, and I can browse to the admin page, but damned if I can get any music out of it. It just says the server is currently down. There’s got to be something simple, but damned if I can figure it out. I suppose I could just run it on a Windows box (it would be a lot easier), but I’m trying to get some quality linux time in. I figure if we’re gonna get this Seditionists Radio going, we need to have broadcast source. One nice thing is that, with Shoutcast, you can not only set up a server to broadcast on-demand mp3 (and it keeps people from downloading the mp3 files – though of course there are ways around it), but other servers can be set up as relays, so we could all share a little bit of our bandwidth, all with our existing Internet connections. That’s assuming we actually had enough listeners where we’d have to worry about it. I suppose that’s a little bit premature, since we don’t actually have anything to push out to the masses, but, what the hell. If we build it, they will come. Anyhow, have a good Thursday.

Most French and Americans would support military action against Iran as a last resort if other means fail to stop it acquiring nuclear weapons, a major transatlantic opinion survey showed on Wednesday.
But among Germans polled, more said they would accept Iran getting the atom bomb rather than using force if diplomacy or sanctions do not work.
On Iran, 96 percent of Americans and 85 percent of Europeans see the possibility of Tehran becoming a nuclear power as a very important or somewhat important threat.
In France, the figure was 54 percent. In Germany, 40 percent supported military action but 46 percent said it would be better to let Iran acquire nuclear arms.

Senate votes to continue use of cluster bombs

An amendment to the 2007 defense appropriations bill that would have prevented military funding from paying for cluster munitions failed on the floor of the Senate by a vote of 30-70, RAW STORY has learned.
Prior to the vote on the measure, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) presented the amendment along with photographs of Iraqi children who have been maimed by cluster munitions that were not tripped by their intended targets.

Afghan force ‘needs more troops’
Nato’s top commander, General James Jones, has urged member countries to provide reinforcements to the mission in southern Afghanistan.
He admitted the military alliance had been taken aback by the extent of violence in the region.
But he predicted that the coming weeks would be decisive in the fight against Islamist Taleban guerrillas.
Commanders on the ground had asked for several hundred additional troops and more helicopters and airlift, he said.
“We are talking about modest reinforcements,” he told reporters at Nato European headquarters in Belgium.

Can you see CSPAN’s map on their campain site?I can’t.
So they show a reporter getting accosted and beaten up by a couple the reporter is trying to question. This on the Today Show. Why on earth doesn’t the cameraman in these situations put down his camera and help his comrade out?
Instead you got Matt Lauer acting like it is hard news instead of some contrived setup.
As long as I am beating up on Today, ever notice how during story transitions, Lauer sounds like he is saying “n’alright”?
Whatever irritating quirks Rachel has, it’s nothing compared to the cloying Lauer.
No Today Show here, but, yeah, are the camera operators so self indulgent that they can’t turn it off and lend a hand? Does keeping it on sometimes help? ❓
off to the night market. Think I’ll have from squid-on-a-stick tonight. 881!
Sally Eckhoff has a response to Germaine Greer’s “Steve Irwin sucks” column in Salon (just click through the ad).
Nope, it’s not the firewall. It’s fairly easy to set up, really. Just unpack the files, edit the config (which is well commented, and there are only a couple of things to change), open up the directory in terminal, and start the server. You don’t even have to run it as root. Unfortunately, when I try to stream the content, it tells me it’s either an invalid resource, or that the server is down. My guess is that it doesn’t see the content, though I both stuck to the defualt, and then tried a few other things, and damned if it won’t go. Much simpler to run it on a Windows box. I may try setting up an Icecast server, which is tan open source version of Shoutcast, but I’d rather just get this goddamn thing to work.
Hey Druid. Nice to see ya. I hope your class is going well.
There is one way to see that reporter beating that’s worse than hearing Matt Lauer comment on it (which reminds me, now that La Couric is gone I could go back to watching “The Today Show” and stop wanting to punch out Thom Hartman…) I caught it on Scarborough Country. I don’t normally watch Scarborough Country but he had something on that snagged my attention as I channel surfed last night. So I got to see that with his stupid laugh in the background. Ugh! Oh, and Scarborough thinks Suri Cruise is “the most beautiful baby. Move over Shilo Jolie.” (He devoted an entire segment to the Suri Adoration Society. I prefer Olberman’s five minutes of bad jokes exchanged with Michael Musto.)
I asked my mother (who lives in south Florida) who there actually likes Katherine Harris. She said, “Diebold.” She’s kind of concerned that Harris might win, despite the dramatic difference between her polling number and her opponents. She thinks there’s a chance the ballots will be fixed by the corporations that make them because she’s such a big friend of their’s. She also thinks someone needs to dig a little deeper into Harris’ past because she says that in person Harris looks a lot like a washed up porn star.
Anyone have idea what to put into a Jim Earl care package? If I can get an address to send it to, that is. He’s still unemployed (see the message from him I put in yesterday’s blog right at the end) and sounds depressed. I mean, there wasn’t a single joke in the entire message.
Okay, bloggren. Gotta make the donuts.
Squid-onna-stick. Sounds yummy. (Actually, I like salt and pepper squid so that doesn’t sound as gross as I bet you were hoping it would, KK.)
I forgot to mention, regarding the reporter beating, that the lady (it was a lady at first, then I guess her husband joined into the fray) did take a few swipes at the camera man. And I suspect the camera man decided the wise camera man gets it on tape for use as evidence in court. Although Scarborough didn’t mention it at all. He was too busy making fun of the lady. (WHY did I keep the tv on?????)
Okay, this timeI mean it. I have to leave in ten minutes and still need to feed Faraday or he’ll eat my arm. (PJ, if you have the time…think we could get a cute puppy smiley? Like this one?

Offical ABC Statement on The Path to 9/11
ABC Television
Updated: 9/7/2006 10:19:06 AM
The Path to 9/11 is a dramatization, not a documentary, drawn from a variety of sources, including the 9/11 commission report, other published materials and from personal interviews.
The events that lead to 9/11 originally sparked great debate, so it’s not surprising that a movie surrounding those events has revived the debate.
The attacks were a pivotal moment in our history that should never be forgotten and it’s fitting that the discussion continues.

My comment: :jerk:
And this, from movieweb.com
And then there’s this from the Washington Post’s article
And, I say again…:jerk:
they evidently ONLY sent it to right-wingers, despite others requesting to review it.
Here’s from Olbermann’s show.
I’m also ticked because they plan on sending this with “educational” materials to High Schools. WTF? I’ll put my budding liberal on guard at his school so if it surfaces, I can make a fuss.
Yay! Success. Had to go get and configure something else that the DSP plugin for Winamp would normally do (if you were running Windows). So, now I’m streaming four episodes of Closet Deadhead to myself.
Yeah, the Goebbels network is getting around lying by calling it a “dramatization,” while giving it apparent legitimacy by saying it’s “based on” the 9/11 commission report, and then sending it out to schools – complete with “educational” materials, so it can be used to rewrite history. It really is Orwellian. After this runs and they start teaching it in schools, this will be the definitive history of 9/11. And as far as I can see, there really isn’t anything that can be done about it.
That moon kept me awake last night.

It’s interesting that Couric is getting all this “glass ceiling” play. Is it because it’s CBS, which used to be a bit of a bastion of journalisitic integrity? Or is that Baba Wawa is forgotten for anything but “The View?”
It seems to me that there have been quite a few women news people before katie ever picked up a script and started reading the news. Not as many as there have been men, to be sure, but I think the real reporters out there (Helen Thomas comes to mind,) are the ones that broke through the glass ceiling. And I see real journalists as a dying breed – at least as far as network teevee for-profit news. Better to make a docudrama that reaches the conclusions you want it to, rather than try to struggle to cover the real – albeit inconvenient or unpopular – news. There are still people out there fighting the good fight, trying to get the real news reported (some of us know them better than others, wink-wink, nudge-nudge), but they are getting harder and harder to find.
And while I think there’s still the potential for a network newsreader to have an impact, I somehow don’t see Couric giving a Walter Cronkitesque commentary about Iraq – or anything else she isn’t told to do. Career comes first, second and third. Journalistic integrity? Not so much.
TPM Cafe has the full text of Clinton’s Lawyer’s letter to ABC.
i, too, doubt she’ll be a cronkite – but how many are there? One? but developing in to one takes time and world tragedies, unfortunately. couric is more genuine than williams, for my money, and someone genuine has a greater chance of becoming a cronkite-type person…don’t you think?
But the evening newscast use to be the network golden/ivory tower and they have never ever had a solo woman as THE anchor. Kind of like the first female catholic priest – lots of women do many things in the church but they’ve never had a female priest. that’s how i look at it, anyway. it is too late, though. network news is fast becoming the network albatross.
Yeah, there was a time when you actually had to justify your free use of the public airwaves, and news programming was one way it was done. That’s over with now. I don’t actually watch the networks – really, I don’t watch much of any teevee news these days. The networks show 22 minutes or whatever of what it is that their lawyers don’t think will get them in trouble. The cable news show 22 minutes of news over and over again for 24 hours. Occasionally you’ll get some good stuff on something like 60 minutes, and Olbermann is possibly becoming the next Murrow.
Mostly, though, I just don’t think teevee is the place to get the news anymore. Maybe it never was, really, but it’s all plenty of people have time for, so after they’ve been hypnotized by the flashy graphics and ominous news swoosh noises, and the not-so subliminal messages flashing on the screen, it’s no wonder that half the people think Saddam was flying the first plane to hit the WTC, and that Bill Clinton could have personally killed Osama, but he was too busy getting a hummer.
and by “hummer” you don’t mean the automobile!
ISI => the market bags arrived and they are terrific – seriously! They are generously sized and very cool looking -even better than I anticipated. I’m popping the $$ in the mail today, so be sure to let me know if you don’t get it. Thank you! You definitely could sell these on the internets.
GYPSY => please tell Earl to start a podcast. I saw that Dorothy Harmsen, 91, a Creator of the jolly Rancher Candy Line has passed away. I’m sorry for her loved ones, but only Jim could really write the obituary.
from her obit:
There will always be a slot open on Seditionist Radio for Jim Earl. And since he won’t see any money, it won’t screw up his unemployment, either!
So, FWIW, ThinkProgress has an e-mail form to let ABC know what you think of their upcoming piece of sh…er, I mean, progaganda on 9/11.
hey pj, what’s this “digg it” link stuff I’m seeing on blogs lately? think progress and crooks & liars have it as do others.
Basically, if you “digg” a story, it means that you think it’s noteworthy. It gets added to the Digg site, and as more people digg it, the higher up it gets. It was started, I think, by a guy named Kevin Rose, who was one of the geeks on TechTV. Originally, it was for tech stories and the like, but now it’s for anything. If you sign up at digg.com, you can digg, rate and comment on “dugg” stories.
there is so much out “there.”
There sure is. At least until they kill net neutrality.
All right, blog-sibs. THIS has me cracking up and not in the bad way.

Tom DeLay’s New Cause: Conservative Takeover Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’
Comment by gypsy — September 7, 2006 @ 3:07 pm
As someone who paid actual money to see “Ringmaster” in a theater, and has thus seen Springer naked from the waist up, I doubt that DeLay has to worry about ANYONE lasting longer in this contest than Springer. I would be shocked if he makes it past the first week.
Not that I’ll be watching, because I don’t watch the show, and also because I am considering boycotting ABC if they don’t cancel the 9/11 propaganda show, or at least plaster disclaimers ALL OVER IT.
But isn’t it sweet that DeLay has to busy himself with crap like this instead of terrorizing Congress? 😀
I’m reading Timothy Noah’s comments on reviews of a couple of neo-con books and found this comment funny enough I laughed and scared a co-worker.
Either I’m really easily amused today or that was spot on funny. I can’t decide.
Fred, thanks for posting Olbermann’s Katherine Harris montage. It was HYSTERICAL!
Just for the record, I have never attended a possum auction or bid on one. But maybe that’s because I wasn’t born here.
Why would anybody buy a possum at an auction, anyway, when you can just go out and scrape up a pre-tenderized one?
I think possum auctions are supposed to be funny or something. I got the impression from watching the Olberman montage that someone was going to be eating possum. Or fornicating with one. Might be the only way Harris can get laid, fugly as she is.
Maybe she stuffs her bra with dead possums?
BTW, I dunno if you;’ve checked out Marc’s myspace pictures, but he had somethginor other removed from his face, and now has a pretty large pile of bandages on it. Can’t link to it, ‘cuz you’ve gotta be a “friend” to see his pics (and I don’t wanna steal it and post it here).
Here’s a good question – if you’re gonna bury radioactive shit underneath New Mexico, how do you make sure the “keep out” signs will be intelligible for the next 10,000 years? Here’s a hint, it’s gonna cost $1 billion and take 30 years to build (just the “Danger!” sign, not the waste facility itself).
OMG! 😯

i’m having an email exchange with the dude who writes the vent in the atlanta paper! :rofl2: he keeps printing vents from folks saying bush has kept us safe for 5 years so he’s doing something right. so i shot one over stating that clinton kept us safe for almost eight years. so he emails me about the first world trade center bombing. so i said, if you don’t count 9-11 than you can’t count 2-26 and anyway, I said “almost” eight years.
so i ask, if people can say that about the shrub, why not say it about clinton?

I’ll find a cat smiley for you this evening if you want, PJ. I discovered a treasure trove of smileys over the weekend but I can’t get to it at work.
I think the pic on the front page of Marc’s Myspace is Monkey.
Bill the Cat is not a cat. He’s a celebrity. Or a celebrity impersonator.
Ah, memory jogged. Wasn’t Bill the Cat a character in a cartoon strip? Bloom County, maybe? I vaguely remember a plot line in which Opus the penguin had a crush on Jean Kirkpatrick.:rofl2::rofl2:
That’s Monkey? What a beauty. Maybe Marc can do a program called The Cat Whisperer.
I once emailed Marc and asked him to please post of picture of Butch. No luck.
Suspicious device in a car at the Pentagon – really screwing up DC rush hour.
Well, on Marc’s last show from California I called and asked about Butch, and he rushed me off the subject. He’s done that before. I wonder if there really was some kind of emotional problem centered on his cat dying?
How Human Rights Watch Lost Its Way in Lebanon
The Israel Lobby Works Its Magic, Again
By JONATHAN COOK
Nazareth.
The measure of a human rights organisation is to be found not just in the strides it takes to seek justice for the oppressed and victimised but also in the compromises it makes to keep itself out of trouble. Because of the business that human rights defenders are in, they must be held to a standard higher than we demand of others.
Unfortunately, one of the best — Human Rights Watch — has failed that test during the war in Lebanon this summer.
To its credit, HRW has risked much opprobrium for taking Israel to task for systematically breaking international law during its assault on Lebanon. That has culminated in a predictable campaign of harassment by pro-Israel organisations in the US — as well as by the usual suspects like Alan Dershowitz — that have accused its researchers of libelling Israel and being anti-Semitic…
http://www.counterpunch.org
Interesting bit of trivia from CQ’s Midday Update. I guess there are a lot of geezers in Congress.
I was a big fan of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. However, without having done much research, I sense that Germaine Greer’s article posted above was pretty close to the mark about Irwin. (Although she probably exaggerated some of her charges.)
Briefly, she said that Irwin was a daredevil who harrassed wild animals unnecessarily.Furthermore, he did nothing of substance for the cause of conservation, indicative by the fact that he was a supporter of Australia’s conservative PM Howard. I heard an Australian naturalist fairly corroborate what Greer wrote on the BBC, the day Irwin died. I believe that the naturalist did add, on the other hand, that Irwin was a positive icon for the cause of saving the natural world. (Pmurray’s commentary on Greer’s article was terrific.)
There. Now I can go read the rebuttal to Greer. (#36)
Regarding Butch the Cat :billcat: I understood Marc to say he didn’t do the bit anymore because the person who wrote the segment wasn’t on his new show. That was the Dream Diary, right?? It was brilliant.
I wonder, then, was Butch a real cat or was she just schtick? I’ll be SO disappointed if it was just schtick.
I think Rhodes hasn’t listened to herself for the last 2 years. She suddenly discovers we have propaganda in the SBR ..imagine that.. Like a lady campaigning about how hard it was to walk on the deck on the Titanic because of the angle of the ship in the water only to discover that her shoes where now getting wet.:eek::eek::yuck::paranoid::paranoid:
I think Butch was definitely real.
Oh, I’m pretty sure that Butch (not the dream Butch, of course) was real, and Marc felt very bad when she died – especially since he was away from home when it happened.

I’m sure Butch was real. Marc told a story about driving cross-country with Mishna and Butch and having to have an air-conditioned something-or-other because Butch needed the AC. And apparently when Mishna called him at AAR to tell him Butch had died, he went out into the hall and started screaming. He described her as having a kind of tough-guy swagger, hence the name Butch.
I wonder who wrote the Butch dream sequences with him. I assumed it was Jim.
I so looked forward to her weekly appearance. Hard to choose a favorite. Remember when she and her cat army disrupted the inaugural parade? When she made Rove and Gannon dress in tutus and showgirl costumes and sing all the songs from Kiss Me, Kate? When she brought little berets and Che t-shirts for the four feral kittens? When she made a pass at Doug Kreeger? When she hypnotized Harriet Meyers?
Does anyone have a Butch archive? I’ve tried to listen to the Butch things at snotgreensea, but they don’t work for some reason (all the other bits do).
As Sir Winston Bush gets a media pass as he tries to conflate fascism, communism and Islam while also trying to ironically tie his criminal wars to WWII and the Cold War,
It doesn’t matter what he’s trying to conflate, if he says it often enough people will believe it. That islam is communist and fascist, both. Orwell’s “newspeak” was deliberate, this is unplanned idiocy but is changing the language nonetheless
If we can’t get a photo of Butch, I think one of our artists should do a conceptual rendering of her in her t-shirt and beret, with the cigarette hanging out of her mouth.
Well, bloggerini, it’s time to go home and maybe grab a couple miles on the Wildwood Trail on the way there. Oh, wait, I can’t. I forgot the @#$$%$# water bottle.
Drug Use Up for Boomers, Down for Teens
The government reported Thursday that 4.4 percent of baby boomers ages 50 to 59 indicated that they had used illicit drugs in the past month. It marks the third consecutive yearly increase recorded for that age group by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health.

Only %4.4! I do not believe it.
:omg:
Hah, no wonder. I’m not 50.
Maybe that’s 4.4% who admitted it.
OK, here’s a test of the Sedition Radio Network. First, I believe you’ll need Winamp (if you use Windows). I think iTunes will work on a Mac (not sure, though), and for Linux XMMS should work (if you use X Windows; may also be able to get it to work with others). I dunno if anything else will work, though if you give it a try and it does (or doesn’t), let me know (for instance, iTunes on Windows, RealPlayer, whatever). So, if you want to give it a try, click this link . Right now, it’s limited to 10 users (since there’s only four people here, that shouldn’t be a problem). All you’ll hear right now (hopefully) is Marc on the Will and Willie Show from back before the Marc Maron Show was on the air. It’s streaming, meaning that you might catch it at the middle, or the end, or whatever. But it keeps repeating. So, let me know if it works from out there in the Ether.
Well, 14% didn’t put the bong down long enough to answer the phone, and 38% were too stoned to understand the question.
yeah, it’s working on iTunes, PJ
Seditionist Radio Network working in Newnan on iTunes! :pup:
neighbor’s Jack is loose again…damn, it’s meaner than hell and I do not like having to chase him home. :jason:
New lineup
SEDER 6-9 AM
I know that many can’t stand Springer–on the radio and elsewhere. I was in that camp at first, but gave him a chance and became a fairly regular listener. I found him to be a good addition to the AAR lineup. He brought in a lot of fence-sitters. I do not want to get into a barb throwing battle with anybody over it, though. You detest Springer? I accept that.
Anyway, I am thinking that AAR may now syndicate Springer’s show, the way they syndicate Hartmann’s. Just thinking out loud.
Cool. Well, I guess we have a radio station. Now all we need is some programming.
I’d actually thought about doing this when Marc’s show was still on the air. I thought we could record the stream, and then push it out via Shoutcast the next morning sometime, so us East Coast folks could listen and blog together.
I don’t mind Spinger – in fact I was just thinking today, while listening to him that he’s probably one of the most “fair” minded political radio people I know (honestly tries to consider different views and think about what people say to him even if it differs from his own opinion, on almost any topic)…but if it comes down to Seder vs. Springer I’ll go with Seder… is it definite that Springer is not in the lineup?
Sam is talking about Jerry. I caught Sam Saying that Springer still has his show–and so he is not taking away anybody’s job. Did I miss anything else?
Springer will continue to be syndicated by AAR, and streamed as well.
Hey PJ it works on iTunes . . . how f*ing cool is this. Smarter than I PJ. Good job. Sounds great.
So can you broadcast live PJ? If so you ought to start a live show. Would be cool to hear ya.
R121: Well stated.
Choices on the radio. I like Sam in the evenings, but I am glad he is still around. He is germane to AAR, to me. Springer is an ally, like Werbe and Eliot. (Syndicate Jerry.)
What’s really cool is that it’s all free. The box it’s running on is a bunch of spare parts cobbled together, the OS it’s running on is free, and so is the server software it’s running on. Can’t beat that.
Good! Give us those choices. Now, Mike Malloy!!!!!!!! Bring Back Mike!
Actually, yes, I could configure this thing to use the line in from the soundcard instead of mp3 files on disk. I could get a wireless mic, and you could follow me throughout the day, as I step in cat puke, swear at the teevee, and suffer through readin gshit for school that I really don’t care about. Of course, that might not make for especially compelling “radio.”
Yes, I would rather have Springer available for those who aren’t quite ready for Malloy, and obviously we need Malloy on the radio, too. And Sammy. And the rest of the lineup, too – but more. Hell, it wouldn’t surprise me if Jerry was on more stations than Sammy.
The only question I have is – can there possible be no place on the dial for Marc Maron and Jim Earl? How the hell can they not be on the radio?
maybe we can get Marc on our new radio station….dreams too big maybe? :omg::pup:
Well, you know, we might be able to get Marc to provide a few minutes of content, to plug another show or his subscription podcast. Or maybe we could be the flagship “station” for his show. I’d be more than happy to do something like throw a bit of his on, and then plug the CD. There’s a lot of potential.
Hey everyone! Im home!!
Hi Melina, it’s nice to see ya.
My home connection is acting up. So excuse me folks whilst I wiggle some cables and spit on it.
I am ready to take to my bed for days…days…days….
what a hard day today…on no sleep….but i did get to listen to Nick’s last 2 podcasts….
Very funny in some places, and I talked back to the pod alot…I could be your Kathie Lee, Nick, though I dont know if you’d really like it!
I LOVE the man on the street interviews….they were so powerful….
Nick, if youre around, what happened when you called that guy who stood you up?
He never answered the phone Melina. I just figure that was his way of saying FU. he he. No biggie. Good to see you here Melina. PJ, has come up with a way to broadcast. Need to show me how that works PJ. Perhaps post a page of instructions. I don’t guess it’ll work on a Mac though. Would have to boot my Imac into Windows to run it.
Not that you’d be interested, but feel free to use any of my content on Seditionist Radio. Power to the people! :nixon:
I’m not running it on Windows, I’m running it on Linux. Should be similar, since OS X is just a GUI sitting on top of BSD Unix. I was thinking that maybe I’d set up a “Seditionist Radio” Yahoo group, where interested parties could “meet” and maybe hammer out the details of really doing this thing.
Oh, thanks cnick. Actually, I was counting on you letting us use your stuff.
I’d love for you to be my sidekick Melina, if we could figure out a way to bridge the differences in our locations! Yes, after listening to Rob and David’s podcast I can see the benefit in having a co-host. It’s hard to keep it going. Very hard. Now I know why Randi Rhodes repeats herself so much. But my old marketing professor always said that repetition was a good thing. After awhile it either sinks in or you get so bored you never tune in anymore.
o no, sblue said I’d be making a mistake if I didn’t wave as I passed King Kong . . . I donno how I’m supposed to wave! :paranoid::smack:
OK, here’s something I’ve been thinking about doing. I can set up a morningseditionists e-mail address for any registered member. What I can do is forward any e-mail sent to, for example, joeblow@morningseditionists.com to the e-mail of your choice. If you’d like me to do this (and you’re a member), send me an e-mail from the e-mail account you’d like your mail forwded to (also, if you want a gmail address, let me know that, too), and if it isn’t obvous who you are, add that info, too. I won’t do it for anonymous or unregistered users, ‘cuz I don’t want this to be a spam vehicle, but this can be an easy way for you to let people contact you w/o giving your personal e-mail account out. I’ll make your e-mail your username here (for instance, pjsauter) AT morningseditionists DOT com. So, email me at pjsauter AT morningseditionists DOT com if you want an e-mail address from here.
The coming revolution in Mexico:
http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/roger_burbach/2006/09/a_new_revolution.html
Sorry- I wandered off and started cleaning cages….Im tired and Im just rambling round.
I actually want to get some equipment myself and figure out how to do interviews…if for nothing else then to get some audio interviews with grandpa….But I am in Ned Lamont land and there is always some interesting stuff going on here. A good video camera would also be good…My father bought himself one and it was around 6 grand. Thats for broadcast quality that can be transferred to 35mm film if the documentary hes working on (abotu a guitarmaker…yawn) gets picked up at any of the festivals….
But Im just noting equipment along the way….
I dont know how I would be as a Kathie lee because Im so quick and opinionated….Im also pretty witty now and then….but I might overpower you nick…I would certainly correct you, and that might be a pain in the ass….
I hear from my son that Im bitchy that way…..
but then, he corrects me all the time…so….:pup:
A pup!! How cute!
Yes, PJ, I want an email address!!
I’d prolly wear you out correcting all my misinformation Melina. he he, before long you’d prolly smack me upside the head. And I doubt that would even do any good. Seriously, you need to podcast Melina and you too PJ. Everyone here can do it. It’s not that hard a thing to setup.
Nick, you dont have wrong information necessarily…just some things I disagree with sometimes (like the point of giving rebuilding funds to Lebanon) and….I guess there were a couple of things…but I laughed out loud at some of it, so thats good….and I cant really remember some of it….the times when youre just trying to decide what to do next. Id prefer to listen to you than Springer anyday….
I dont mind having springer on, but, hell, he is for middle America and old people. I think you do great interviews. Youve got a way with people…I want to hear more of that.
Anyway, we should do an interview when Ive rested up a bit. I have to decide what to do tomorrow….go to the parent association meeting or just blow it off, maybe effecting the rest of the year for me at the school. I just hate to see all of those people, and Ive had such a hard summer. I dont want to be roped into doing tons of stuff that I dont have the energy for when Ive got so much to do…and I want to spend some time writing.
Ive been looking at going to Ixtapa Mexico over christmas to club med. Its pretty inexpensive and might be just the thing….
Has anyone here been to that one? Theyve just redone it and its opening this fall, so everything is new.
But, as far as equiptment goes, it seems like the microphone makes all the difference….
Ugh…..Here is a conservative blog report on Kreeger resigning from Piquant….isnt this old news, or is this the parent company?
Good job on the ShoutCast, PJ !
It’s as convenient as opening up my window and getting a breath of fresh air.
:knit:
what the heck is this? :pup: oh a puppyy
PJ YEA:cool::banana::cool: re “Shout” … I am running but this is sooooooo 😎
