So, tomorrow’s the big day. As much as I really can’t wait until this over, I’m also kind of dreading it, too. I mean, we’ve had quite a few shitty elections in a row here. No need to mention 2000, except that you have to admit it was a pretty interesting time to live through, with paid Republican staffers pretending to be “outraged” Florida voters, and an election being quite obviously stolen right there on the teevee in front of us. I had high hopes for the 2002 midterms, but damned if they didn’t steal those, too, and fully cement the Bush rubber stamp. Damed if they didn’t steal 2004, too. And why did John Kerry inexplicably just cave in and fail to fight? Skull and Bones? Did they threaten to kill his family? What?
And now we come to another election, where everybody knows who’s gonna win, if only the election is close to being fair. And that’s one thing we sure as hell can’t count on. So, that’s why I approach this thing with a certain amount of dread, ‘cuz I don’t think I can take looking at Smuggy the Chimp and the Pillsbury Rovesboy if they steal this one, too.
Marc and Jim will be guest-hosting Springer again today. Use this link in Windows Media Player to stream the show, or surf over to WSAI and follow the links there. Jene Galvin must be so psyched to hear the Seditionists are coming back.

Where are my manners?
MORNING!
:joe:
That was great to hear about move-on activity in yesterdays’ blog.
Mornin’all. Fuck the polls for now – I think people are fed up and slamming the phone down on the pollsters. Its the Polish joke about “is my blinker working?” “Yeah, its working, its not working, its working….” Enough. Throw the George down the well/so my country can be free.
And unexpected Maron this morning! Its a sign, I tell you, a sign!:sammy:
This is typical. Whatever these guys preach against, it’s always what they are. The problem is they want to drag everyone else into their personally perceived hell.
GA had a debate last night among the candidates for gov which includes a libertarian candidate. Big ears gov Sonny Perdue constantly interrupted when Taylor spoke. It was irritating, like a gnat you want to swat. It got a bit testy between them. Sonny made millions through use of his office and land deals and he passed legislation that retroactively saved him big bucks on taxes – basically a bill to save himself personally on taxes. still these people in Ga like him. go figure. with the libertarian candidate, most predict a run-off between perdue and taylor (there’s a 50% rule to win). They say dems don’t go to the polls for run-offs so perdue is predicted the ultimate winner. perdue has a lot more money, of course. :billcat:
did ya’all see this:

good morning sheeple! Looking forward to hearing Marc… :sheep::joe:
Well, Quinnipiac still had Ned down 12 points. Horrible crap….not so much that its the most important race, but Lieberman is letting the repubs buy his seat and hes gona owe big time…as if he wasnt their favorite anyway because of hisstrong belief in the war.
Ive been asked to be a poll monitor…and since I really think that this race is over (though Ive switched quite a few people around in the past weeks,) I think it may be best to just go and watch for the dems….maybe Ill still go to the train station and talk to people later in the day. I just think that people have made their minds up and all the calls and whatever arent gonna change them.
Not that Im saying that people out there shouldnt keep calling. I just think that in this new englandy NY Area, people get very uppity if you keep bothering them up till the last moment.
Hey Farmerkat, I’m seriously considering taking my own survey outside my polling place to see if anyone experiences any problems voting and which party they belong to. Delaware county now has paperless touch screen machines.
Oh and it’s 35 and my heater’s running. $$$$$$$$$$$
Maybe Krista will let me stay with her over the winter.

Hey, Druid, you listening to Bill Press? He’s gonna be on Fucker Carlson tonight at 6:00 (I assume he means 6:00 your time, but I’m not sure).
Yeah but – it’s a dry heat – 😆
Okay, I just got this piece of shit from my Aunt. Of course there is no sourcing or anything. It could have been pulled out of Rush Limbaugh’s ass for all I know, so, I better wash up before I leave the house. Does anyone have a good response or something I can reply to all with? Cripes!

These things are pretty long usually. :yuck: :barf:
Yeah, used to be a dry heat. But global warming and heat islands are making it kinda muggy. Not to mention all the pools and Tempe Town “Lake”

Tell her, “wow, I tried this, and when I looked out of the White House window, I saw a self-loathing hypocrite paying a gay prostitute for sex and crystal meth as he left his weekly meeting with me.”
Using this analogy, not only have we taken out Saddam,we also destroyed his house and killed his abused wife.
Now son if you’re President Bush this is what you do, You destroy Saddams house, after that you have to kill his wife and children and anyone else visiting his house, after this you finally take care of the man abusing his now dead wife.
That’s what we’re doing son, how does that make you feel?
Oh, and tell those Gulf War vets who’d be happy to go back over to get off their asses and go. The army needs them, and I’m sure junior can spare at least one of you (I mean, what with you being imaginary and all, anyway).
:rofl2: That’s great! Okay, all the stops are out. Thanks for finishing the analogy for me!
Morning Evening :yinyang:
Any suggestions on where to listen to Marc?

Massive March in Oaxaca
11/06 | Hundreds of thousands of people filled the streets to demand Gov.’s ouster
By John Gibler
Today the Oaxaca People’s Popular Assembly (APPO) offered its response to Gov. Ulises Ruiz’s claim that the conflict in Oaxaca is limited to “one avenue in the capital.”
They filled over 3 miles of federal highway 190 with hundreds of thousands of protesters all shouting for the governor’s ouster.

Is it just me, or are the bits done by Springer’s staff and Springer Just Not Funny, while the stuff Jim and Marc do is great ??
Can’t type or speak english today – long weekend working.
Yea, much of The Gang is here:!:
One aspect is that the “natural rhythm” of crossing paths i.e. Marc on “air” today – during when many really needed to hear his voice compared to a possible path with Marc not here — and I/We needn’t talk re String / M Theory.
In the same manner one can “focus” a change or let Destiny be and let Karma and Dharma be another “Ray”. 😉

Sorry to beat what feels like a dead horse. But there are still realistically 2 days left in all of this. We may be tired and tired of hearing it. But if you can…
GO VOLUNTEER FOR YOUR LOCAL CAMPAIGN!
I beat the streets this weekend for my local congressional race and so can you.
Especially after work on Election day if you have time. Go to your local office….any office and make those calls. Knock on those doors. One person getting out to vote can make the difference in these races and these amendments!
Let’s take back the House and Senate by taking Real Political Action and not just forwarding emails.

Damn! I wanted to post that. But I couldn’t, since I didn’t have PC access all Sunday. And they’re about to throw me out again today. How the fuck does it take three days to install a door?
FK, thanks for posting the Phyllis Busansky flier. She’s an excellent candidate who is unfortunately running against a clown who thinks it’s his official right to inherit his daddy’s old job. Kinda like a simian-featured moron we all know and despise.
:fu:
My sister lives in that district, so that counts as one vote for Phyllis. Sadly, my brother-in-law’s vote will probably cancel it out.
Speaking of Chimpy, he had a big GOTV rally up in Pensacola, which is about as red as Florida gets, and should give you an idea of how desperate the Repigs are to arouse their base.
Speaking of base, Katherine Harris was there, hoping to keep her loss within 30 percentage points. Gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist, however, was nowhere near the place. Interesting.
Gotta go. Hopefully the door situation will be resolved tomorrow, just in time for the election to be over. I can’t help but think that Karl Rove is somehow involved in this.

On this weekend’s McLaughlin Report, host John McLaughlin defended Democratic Senator John Kerry by suggesting that he was “telling the truth” on Iraq.
McLaughlin also wondered if it was laughable to think that words could lower the morale of US troops who already “recognize themselves to be in” a quagmire in Iraq.
The former advisor to President Richard Nixon predicted that a “Democratic takeover of next Tuesday’s election will be a referendum on George W. Bush and on his handling of the Iraq war.” He said that the verdict was clear that it would be “a bust for Bush.”

I missed live blogging because I had to go to the gym, Dr, and Will has a fever…ugh!
But tomorrow Im gonna be a poll monitor from at least 10-3….I guess Ill bring my video camera and my other camera…and coffee….thats a long stretch to sit at a poll watching but they are very short of people here and need people badly….so, I figure that Im not gonna change anyone else’s minds at this point…the damned robocalls…and the Bill Clinton one really annoys me because it reminds me of his Joe Lieberman call….and then I hate him and joe more….
looks like Ned is gonna lose unless the polls are wrong.
But its a good fight. There is something good about fighting the good fight.
If Joe wins this, its because the repubs bought it for him….
ABC News’ Ellen Davis Reports: Bob Bauer, General Counsel for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent a cease and desist letter to Don McGahn, General Counsel of the National Republican Campaign Committee requesting a stop to what he alleges is an illegal form of random calling of voter’s residences using recorded political messages, often known as ‘Robo-calling’.
The letter states: “The NRCC calls do no identify at the outset, and as required, that they are sponsored by the NRCC. These calls do no contain a telephone number. This failure to comply with the law denies callers effective sponsorship information. Without the benefit of a number, they are also unable to request that they not be called again. And we have received reports that individuals have been contacted multiple times by your prerecorded calls, despite their continued refusal to accept the calls.”
Don McGahn, Council for the Republicans responded in this letter: “Thank you for your press release. Per your request, this is to let you know that there is no need for the NRCC to, in your words, bring its actitivities into compliance with Federal law, because NRCC acitivities are already in compliance with Federal Law.

But, the local Lamont people are trying to “at least wind Stamford.”
I wonder if we’re gonna ger a big surprise.
I have never heard of that poll PJ…..and I dont know if I go for polls this time round until we see what happens as the day goes on.
Now they are fighting about if they need poll monitors or people to talk to people….I guess that the one guy who just called me has actually talked ot me so wants me to talk in a certain district….
and Will has a fever…shit!
Im gonna save marc as jerry for tomorrow am…I have a feeling Im gonna need it!…theyre sending me to a dificult location next to darien.
And I suppose that “difficult” is all relative.
I would love to see Joe go, but since we know hes for sale he can probably be flipped again if need be…so its not the end of the world as he claims to be a dem….
But man, didnt the repubs buy that seat?
Yeah, the polls are all shit. Just a diversion. We’ll see what happens. Lots of dirty tricks going on all over, trying to suppress the vote.
If you guys arent watching Olbermann, I would highly recommend it….he is also gonna give a special message to the Prez at the end….a comment…

CALIFORNIA
4th CD: John Doolittle (R) vs. Charlie Brown (D) — DOOLITTLE

50th CD: Brian Bilbray (R) vs. Francine Busby (D) — BILBRAY

In reference to last night’s blog post’s in regard to the Saturday live broadcast:
I am open to moving the start and end times of the live broadcast. Just let me know what times work best for you folks. If that is what it takes to get PJ on live with us! It would definitely be a plus to have PJ moderate the show or at least be there each weekend. I’d also like to encourage all my fellow bloggers to join in the live show on Saturday nights. Go here to listen to Saturday’s live broadcast. The casual format makes for an interesting show – at least I think so. Goodnight Sheeple!
BTW, if anyone wants to listen to Maron on Springer, go to my Maron podcast page.
Hey guys…I put up a few pics of our meetup with Seanie the other day….
I just caught a little of Scarborough’s show. Conservatives are not too hopeful–even about holding the senate. Chaffee is seen as the last hope to holding senate, according to Buchanan.
Andy, its maybe more important to talk to people going into the polls than to just sit and watch. The chances that something will happen that you will be able to touch at all are slim…if a machine is hacked you will all be standing round it right away and calling people…outside or in….but inside you cant talk to anyone about the candidates.
yeah, theyre all jumping….they are resigned…..
I hope Macaca is going down!
I cant even believe that there is a race there….sad.
You’re right Melina, still, I was hoping to crack a couple of heads at least! :rofl2:
remember a day or two ago the polls were showing the race tightening…interstingly the polls coming out today show it’s widening again with Dems pulling awwwway. I’ll try to find the link I think it was Josh Marshall
Melina, does MSNBC put Olbermann video up fast or no.
Melina, I can’t find the pics of you and seanie.
Andy…refresh the page at ripcoco….they are on my blog, not here…
also, in my experience they dont put Olbermann up fast at all….youtube is fastest and that depends on the fans and who is around. It will get up there by tomorrow.
Ive tried to get clips in the first few hours after 9PM a few times and they are no where…..
Suz- the polls seem to look better for the dems as we go on…but I dont trust any polls at all…Ill beinterested in seeing how well things match up.
hey nick, if youre around…sorry I stole that pic of marc from your page and used it on mine…..I liked it and forgot where I got it…oh well….

I would not put a lot of creedeence in that rumor. The Quake has replaced Al with Thom Hartmann (as I reported here a while ago) and I think think they are spinning to avert the rage they anticipate from dropping Franken. The station mgr is not the most honest man in radio (surprise, surprise!) and I would not be at all surprised that he is spreading this to cover his ass. He also manages the right wing talkie here for Clear Channel. I heard this ‘news’ from his own mouth the night he made the first anouncement of the schedule change..
Personally, I think he should stick with AF to the end but his background in radio is sports talk so I don’t think he gets it or cares to or hopes the progressive format fails in SF.
Most of Olbermann’s comments get played on Dr. Mike’s show and Charles Goyette. Goyette will play Colbert and Stewart clips too.
Hey! The great news is that the Quake is replacing Franken with Dr. Tom live and is going to carry Malloy :tommygun::paranoid: :fist: and Rachel :dancers:

Oh man, I just thought of how weird Rapture Watch must have sounded to Springer listeners this morning. And Mortenson, and Lawton. Now they know true humor and they have been exposed to The Funny. :rabbi::fire:
Lawton !
Mort !
I will just stream Franken when I can. I don’t need Thom live. I liked him in the evening. I would be happy with an Al re-run somewhere in the day because he rarely does calls anyway. I enjoyed listening to Rachel (Kent Jones!) today instead of Randi. I may have to start watching the later b’cast of The News Hour.
They are re-running two hours of Randi now but I can take it or leave it anymore.
Malloy! GREAT having him back on tonight and I like his new time slot. He is live in every sense.
The real issue to me is that I do not trust the station or the guy running it. His excuse making about these moves is very repug-like. He also really seems committed to Ed Schultz.
oh man…..tomorrow’s the day!!:tommygun::reaper::jason::jason::fist::banana::nana::slap::yippee:
okay, i’m going to try to go to sleep right now….but i’m pretty sure i’ll be up early to start the media overload!
night night all!:nixon::banana:
