Another Sunday, and, in spite of everything, the boobleheads are back to pick up right where they left off.
On Press the Meat, Timmy Potatohead has “two key leaders of the new, closely-divided Senate,” Chipmunk Cheeks McCain, and Joe “the fuck” Lieberman. You wanna anoint Maverick a leader among losers, fine, but Lieberman? I can’t see that whiny loser leading anyone, anywhere. Hey, Timmy, the nation votes overwhelmingly for change, and you have two pro-war Republicans on? Buffalo should disown you.
Over on Faze the Nation, Bush buddy Bobby Schieffer has on Harry Reid to gloat, and WH Chief of Staff Josh Bolten to whine.
On Fux News Sunday, Weaselface Wallace has on Howard :omg: Dean, and Bush consigliere Dan Bartlett, to talk about how the Republicans really won big when they lost control of both Houses of Congress. And maybe Dean will rip off Wallace’s head and shit down his throat (which is about the only way to get me to watch Fux News).
Over at the Goebbels network, George Snufalufagus has Senator MBNA and Senator Carl Levin, and we’ll also get another chance to see Josh Bolten. Plus, the This Weak axis of drivel is together again, as George :jerk: Will, Sam :omg: Donaldson, and Cokie “the hag” Roberts gather around the Roundtable, to dispense the conventional wisdom we’ve all come to ignore.
On Wolf Blitzer’s Late Emission, it’s another visit from Josh Bolten (must be all the other Bush Administration officials are busy updating their resumes this weekend), NY’s Chucky Schumer, PA’s Arlen “not dead yet” Specter, Pakistani PM, Shaukat Aziz, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, George Joulwan, former SecDef, Bill Cohen, and the NY Times’ Michael “aluminum tubes” Gordon.
Later, on 60 Minutes, the full hour will be devoted to remembering the late Ed Bradley.
On a somewhat happier note, there’ll be new episodes of the Simpsons (where you’ll get to see the world premiere of the Simpson’s Movie trailer), American Dad, and Family, Guy, as well as The Wire, on HBO. Enjoy your Sunday.

Gotta go back to work.:jesus:
:sdavid:
I thought I would hear a real trashing of Franken by Malloy, given the reports. Nothing of the sort. Malloy was miffed at some of Al’s skeptical positions, and by the fact that Al acted snobbishly towards him. But I still think he still respects Al.
“Al Franken can kiss my ass. The elections have been stolen since 2000. Wake up, Al.”
Wow! Malloy ended with a slashing rant against Al. Still as a lefty trying to persuade a MOR to “open your fucking eyes.”
I’ve heard the Al’s snobbish thing before…oh well. He still has a great show
Malloy is not “gentle” in his speech, let’s face it…
Shelly Drobny called in and told Mike that Raum Emanuel is a citizen of Israel, and places his loyalty to Israel above that of his loyalty to the US. Raum withheld money from a good Illinois Democrat candidate because the Republican incumbent was a big supporter of Israel. Raum did give millions to Duckworth, in a hopeless cause. The district is heavily Republican.
(Malloy purposely leaves Franken off of his litany of progressive hosts who helped bring out the Democratic voters.)
those that place their loyalty to israel…well isn’t there a reason why presidents (don’t know about other politicians) have to be American citizens? That dual American/Israeli type citizenship is not a good thing
Mike has been mad at Al for along time for his position thata the voter fraud in Ohio was not enough to sway the elections. Who knows, Al may change his mind about it. I see it as blustry criticism–and a warning– from one ally to another. Randi talks about Al that way a a lot, too.
I’m sorry Al feels that way about voter fraud. I don’t agree with him, but that’s not the only issue on the face of earth. I hope Al comes around at some point.
It is a scandal. Perhaps illegal. Anyway, it will eventually lead to Israel’s physical destruction. What can be done?
I don’t know with all that AIPAC type propaganda out there. I suppose jsut keep pressuring politicians and let them know where we stand.
I’ve got a rerun of Al Franken playing right now
I heard Franken say in Portland that, although fraud had occurred in 2004, it was not enough to change the outcome. (He does agree that the election in 2000 was stolen.) Perhaps he can be persuaded to examine the evidence more closely.
Malloy has a tendency to champion incredible conspiracies–on a par with Art Bell. So what? Makes things interesting.
true. Mike Malloy has his strong points…not least of which is his anger which reaches almost performance art… but he does go far with a few things
:rant1::rant1::rant1::rant1:
:reaper: whatever :sheep: le
Franken is the type who will tell you to proceed calmly to the box cars,:bf:
AIPAC will dry up and blow away when the people start questioning its activities.
Are we in an auschwitzean situation, Fred?
Franken is a moderate Democrat. When politicians of his ilk vanish, then we are in trouble.
nah, I don’t think Franken is that bad (Fred’s post) I do think he should be more attentive to this voting issue
Franken is more politically astute than most AA hosts and he’s very shrewd. I think he has a knack for talking politics without hysteria, though he still gets his values across. He has fantastic guests – the best ones on AA I think.
I gottaa go back to work. I did get a 9/11 conspiracy video from Movie Madness. Loose Change.
have to finish watching the video you sent me, some shopping, and some drawing :peace:
What was the video about?
well it says the Simpsons on the label.
:tommygun:
I watched for about a half hour
:hubba:
that :bf: better not be aimed at me or I’ll… :pent::sdavid::tongue::rofl2:
:pirate::parrot:
hehe. Don’t you love the “edit this” feature?
The SBR is becoming one large work labor camp run by the wealthy for the benefit of the wealthy.
Franken is not likely to support any very left of center positions.
Franken is one of “them” not one of us .
He is not likely to support any anti corporate or anti Israel positions..
Any one who makes more than a couple of 100k a year is suspect especially if its from being a member of “investor class” :bf:
I love educational videos :pent:
That’s a pretty bleak analysis you got there.
Which AA hosts do you like best, Fred, other than Marc?
Given your experience–and chutzpah–you could probably produce one like it.
:nixon::jesus::peace::sdavid::rabbi::yinyang::pent::pent::pent::pent::pent:666
well we’ll go with the second…
Take good notes.
Sam isn’t bad… Rhodes is a lefty just her shrill ranting and repetition is annoying as hell.
If Franken would quit the spontaneous laughing at nothing he would be greatly improved.
Maddow used to be good . She needs to be deprogrammed..
:rofl2::bf:
I must paint a house on the painting.

I like Jon Elliot.

Elliot is ok . I usually can’t stay up that late but listen to his weekend shows on KLSD..
It will be interesting to see how the lefty talkers react when the democratic majorities in both houses produce no more useful legislation or manages to repeal any evil legislation than the rethug dominated congress did :yuck:
where do you stream Jon Elliott?

thank you. I think I know who you mean now
I wonder if Reid will threaten the thugs with the nuclear option if they attempt to filibuster useful legislation in the senate . ??
That may be the only way to get things through the senate.
Rethugs are still 👿
hey fred, susan, nicki
would that not be highlarious if the dems did what the rebubs threatened re filibusters.
you know they won’t tho, that fatal “niceness” i’m afeared.
:banana::banana: Its Roxie :banana::banana:
Ewwww .. WJ 👿 rethugs Ewwww
:rant1::rant1::rant1:
what else is new with yous?
looks like darcy burner got shot by the sheriff (reichjerk), but the blue wave rolled over the state legislature. the dems were already pretty much in charge. now they overwhelmingly in charge. we’ll see iif they can behave themselves.
I think the American Enterprise Institute must have a C-span callers team that do nothing but repeat Limppricks talking points.:yuck::bf:
Not much is news or new here .. Israel is still beating up the Palestinians.. The Russians are taking the SBR’s place in world politics .. The water is still up to C deck and rising .. ( insert Titanic sinking emo here):yuck::crap::tongue:
some of the callers last time i watched were painfully lost and confused.
that may have changed since the election. i smalltalk with many of the public in retail and often try to inject some politics. maybe it’s a reflection of my own overwhelming sense of relief, but the same relief seems to be pretty much universal out here.
yeah, lots of flooding up here too.
we need the snowpack cause it was a really dry summer, but it’s pretty fucking cold (for seattle where you can tell it’s winter when you really need a jacket)
my yard is knee deep in wet leaves which makes the doggie poop patrol full of surprises.
my basement’s probably a little wet but a floor drain down there was on my must have list when i bought the house so i just wait for a couple rrelatively dry days before i do laundry.
is it raining or snowing down south?
:tommygun:sometimes fred is complaining about repukes on c-span then i turn it on and they arent even taking calls very annoying

Social Security at roots of shift
Democrats set groundwork in reform fight
By Rick Klein, Globe Staff | November 12, 2006
WASHINGTON — Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid had a decision to make. President Bush was starting his second term with a brash challenge to a sacred Democratic program — Social Security — and the House and Senate Democratic leaders needed a coordinated response, and fast.
Pelosi and Reid, new leaders of demoralized and diminished Democrats in the House and Senate, were caught off guard by the president’s gambit, and quickly faced Republican mockery that the Democratic Party could only say “no.” Would Democrats offer a plan of their own? Or would they insist on total opposition, brushing aside Bush’s not-so-subtle message that Democrats would stand in his way at their own peril?
Top party leaders debated their response in a series of frantic meetings and conference calls early last year, according to aides who spoke on condition of anonymity. Then Pelosi brought up a piece of advice shared by several marketing specialists from the business world she had sought out: You can’t build up your brand unless you first take down the competition’s.
And so Pelosi and Reid put out the word: There would be no Democratic Social Security plan, and no negotiating with Bush as long as he insisted on privatization. With that move they laid the groundwork for Tuesday’s electoral sweep — a Republican washout that will give Reid the title of Senate majority leader and make Pelosi House speaker in January.

good discussion from scarborough report on youtube colbert and the daily show
Somehow I just don’t believe this. Perhaps there is more than voter faud in Florida:
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –An absentee ballot was mailed with what may have been a rare stamp worth as much as $200,000 — the famous Inverted Jenny — but the envelope is in a box that by law can’t be opened.
Broward County Commissioner John Rodstrom discovered the stamp while reviewing absentee ballots. There was no name on the envelope, so the vote didn’t count.

i got it from one of your posts. i’ve quoted you several times. a friend used to collect spoonerisms about food: olive the above. are you handing me an old tomato? there’s more that i can’t remember at the moment. the thing is, they all work for emoticons.
i picture a turtle face forward, with springs on his feet, inside the arch of a rainbow. boing, boing, boing.
hope springs a turtle! truly a brilliant spoonerism — at least i think that’s what the general category is called. are you the author?
no theres a comedian that uses “hope springs a turtle” in a joke and it makes sense!
go here for the hope springs a turtle guy
crap i dont think thats the guy!
oh well i will just assume it is cant find anything else
sue:
i’m more and more impressed with pelosi. her “impeachment off the table” prevented a whole host of rightwing talking points about how she wanted to impeach george and dick so she could “steal” the presidency. she really hasn’t made a misstep i can think of. tho i’m sure some of you can enlighten me on that… err, fred, did you leave?
so sean,
how’s the joke go?
talking about Rahm Emmanuel on C span a little earlier, felt like vomiting. Now let me think about whether or not I want to watch the parade of Neocons on the morning shows. What to do, what to do. Good morning, all
damn, seanie, got back from my sundaze mini walk and you got me stuck watching those “WILL IT BLEND? THAT IS THE QUESTION” videos. That guy and his wife remind me of Best in Show.
:rofl2:
morning to you, too, Roxie & SJ!
morning susan,
are the dlc really not giving dean his due? if so, they’re far stupider than i thought. they’re great at fundraising but grassroots stuff is not their forte.
the two aspects together worked pretty well. i would think they’d be smart enough to see that!
So far, I think Pelosi and Reid have done well. Clearly we’re not going to have lefty Nirvana but considering where we are, we halted the dive off the cliff.
Rove has an explanation that absolves the Preznit and Rove and gives hope to the Reich:
The Architect, as President Bush once called him, has a theory for why the building fell down. “Get me the one-pager!” he cried out to an aide, who promptly delivered a single sheet of paper that had been updated almost hourly since the midterm elections with a series of statistics explaining that the “thumping” Bush took was not such a thumping after all. The theory is this: The building’s infrastructure was actually quite sound. It was bad luck and seasonal shifts in the winds that blew out the walls — complacent candidates, an ill-timed Mark Foley page scandal and the predictable cycles of history. But the foundation is fine: “The Republican philosophy is alive and well and likely to reemerge in the majority in 2008.”

the fall off the cliff:
i’ve been feeling the footing give way for so long, i just can’t feel anything but gratitude to everyone who did their part, even if their political views are pretty far away fom mine in the democratic/progressive/green scheme of things. i think this is my honeymoon period. i more or less love them all to bits.
i’m sure i’ll get over it. i’m definitely avoiding the teevee other than comedy central.
good morning Farmerkat, Roxie, Sue – I heard the whole Howard Dean (and blogs) vs. Carville and DLC thing going on – I guess now that that Dems have some power there is going to be even more of a struggle on how that power is going to be expressed…it’s inevitable I guess.
Susan, I agree that the power struggle is inevitable but I’m pleased to note that the blogs are there and making the liberal voice heard. The Dems may be tacking to the center but this time they ignore their left at their peril.
On the other hand, I think the left has to be careful that it doesn’t help the right desroy the Dems. We all have some caution to observe.
:fustrate:its been months since i have heard the joke! basically the guy has a stoner friend that somehow makes hope springs a turtle into a viable phrase that makes sense you know how those hippy stoners get away with crap like that…………
:paranoid:now i am gonna be in trouble!
Mornin’. So, Roxie, does that mean that you’re seeing the mobile device optimized version of the blog?
ya think timmy potatoe head lives in Georgia? His show is pretty much stuck in the realm of irrelevancy and backwardness.
was on my way to the airport last night and stuck in a traffic jam as folks were returning from Auburn (the GA/Auburn game). On the left shoulder came screaming two GA state highway patrol cars followed by four or five gleaming white buses with “Champions” written on them….the football team doesn’t have to wait in traffic like us peon taxpayers.
:omg:wanna feel dirty like mark foley? huh do you? ok well only click this if you are going there to flag the video like i did!

Can I feel dirty like Ron Jeremy instead?
um, think i’ll pass on 103, seanie. :paranoid: and i don’t have a clue on the joke.

re the dems takeover:
the NY times is saying that a lot of the newly elected are “socially conservative populists” The socially conservative part: not woman’s right to choose in many cases. That gets me, nervous, shall we say?

103 is high school girls fully clothed giving eachother lapdances which is bad enough until you hear the song accompanying the video sample lyric
“Cum on your finger girl, lick it all off
Catch it in your mouth, like your last name Moss
Play with the nitty girl, stick it on in
I’m feeling real freaky girl, bring your friends”
its more the accompanying music than the video that made me feel so dirty anyway
Joe Conason, on Al Franken this Friday, was quite funny. He said the message of all elections if that the conservatives won. Losers lose because they are not conservative enough. He said that when Delay and the other fascists were winning it was because they were true conservatives. Their loss can be blamed on the fact that they were not true conservatives, according to the pundits.
yeah um i absolutely LOVE the song that goes with this video!
they would do anything rather than admit that there liberals out there who vote and that won the election. They’ll sit up and twist their minds into pretzels in order to come up with spin to reduce the cognitive dissonance accompanying a walloping loss like this… and the media is still in full gear to broadcast their nonsense
:nana:1337
Personally, I say ignore them all, and ignore the traditional media. I find them to be irrelevant, in terms of providing information that I should pay attention to. Media Matters and C&L need to continue to debunk them to the extent possible, since many people still get their info there, but, as for me, I’m not gonna spend a lot of time on the parroting of conventional wisdom from places like the NY Times, who brought us Judy Miller, aluminum tubes, WMD’s, and Ahmed Chalabi.
got into the habit of watching TV again during the election week, I need to break myself of the habit :hot:

After midterms and Rumsfeld resignation, only pro-war non-Dem senators scheduled on Meet the Press
The weblog Think Progress reported that, in what will be its first broadcast on November 12 since Democrats gained control of Congress and Donald H. Rumsfeld resigned as defense secretary, NBC’s Meet the Press is scheduled to feature two non-Democratic senators who have strongly supported the war in Iraq — Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, who, although pledging to caucus with the Democrats, ran for re-election as an independent following his loss in the Connecticut Democratic primary.
Yet when Republicans won control of Congress in the 1994 midterm elections, the guest list for the first Meet the Press following that election included then-Sens. Phil Gramm (R-TX) and Alfonse D’Amato (R-NY), and then-House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt (MO). As Media Matters for America has documented, conservative voices have significantly outnumbered progressive voices on Meet the Press during the Clinton and Bush administrations.

There is no real evidence that Rahm Emmanuel is a citizen of Israel. It was shot down when he was running for congress. His parents were Israelis who migrated here, but that criteria makes me a Sicilian, which I ain’t. He’s in the bag for AIPAC, and a member of the Israel can do no wrong faction; like a lot of other bought and paid for American politicians are; isn’t that enough?
Lets keep Howard [“The Man With The Plan”] Dean in charge, and going down this other road of dual loyalty is a distraction which isn’t going to get us there. :sammy:
:nana:did i mention marc personally or by way of lacky running his myspace sent me a personal e-mail?
Hmm. I dunno, Andy, that should be getting picked up. I made a couple of tweaks – try it again when you get a chance.
Hey, that’s cool Sean. I was gonna e-mail Marc and tell him I wish he coulda been on the air for this election, ‘cuz he did the hard work, and really earned it. But then I figured why would he give a shit what I think, so I didn’t.

Global growth in carbon emissions is ‘out of control’
The growth in global emissions of carbon dioxide from fossil fuels over the past five years was four times greater than for the preceding 10 years, according to a study that exposes critical flaws in the attempts to avert damaging climate change.
Data on carbon dioxide emissions shows that the global growth rate was 3.2 per cent in the five years to 2005 compared with 0.8 per cent from 1990 to 1999, despite efforts to reduce carbon pollution through the Kyoto agreement.
Much of the increase is probably due to the expansion of the Chinese economy, which has relied heavily on burning coal and other fossil fuels for its energy.

Yeah Susan … :yippee::yippee::yippee:
well I knew that Howard Dean wasn’t this “screaming way-left liberal” that they made him out to be, so this doesn’t surprise me either….
well now I know what to do if I ever use a mobile device :rofl2:
Getting demodorps to get off the AIPAC band wagon may be harder to do than getting them out of the corporate pocket books. Election reform with totally publicly financed elections may be the only way to wean them .. I am sure they will find a way around it too. :bf:
:rabbi:stop being anti zionist or dont yep yep
CHICAGO (Reuters) – U.S. retailers will likely report modest sales growth this holiday season, with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT – news) expected to be the top shopping destination, a survey conducted for Reuters this week shows
The first in a series of holiday shopping polls by America’s Research Group found that a surprisingly large 89 percent of respondents planned to shop at Wal-Mart this year, suggesting that the retailer’s aggressive price cuts will succeed in luring more customers.

McCain wants small business exemptions from the minimum wage .. What businesses are most small business people in… retail.. :bf:
Yeah, screw the traditional media. They just parrot (:parrot:) what they hear someplace else. I think it all started with the Washington Post during Watergate. Before that, they went out and did their own reporting, but during Watergate, they started reporting what the WaPost was reporting, because they were getting all the good scoops.
Now they just report what was reported elsewhere, or they do “he said/she said” reports, as if whatever some fucked-up asshole wingnut says about stem cell research or something is equivalent to what 99% of the scientific community says.
It’s also hard, ‘cuz I don’t feel like as if there’s any reporting I can trust. That goes for most of the “alternative” media, too. I read what they write, and if it sounds a little fishy and I really start to look into things, I find that they tend to be just as sloppy and slanted as the rest. Very discouraging.
Sometimes the European press has less spun coverage than the domestic media does. The BBC seems to be fairly objective. Read Pravda and/or the Moscnews.:rofl2: Watch Aljazeera and/or the Hezbollah satellite TV channels .. 😮
I remember listening to radio Moscow a lot during the Vietnam war..
Pravda’s one of my favorite reads.
I like the BBC but I’m not sure how good their reporting is…at least they don’t have the same biases that American news sources do because of the fact they’re outsiders…
The media is to the point that one has to see the same story line from three points of view before they can believe the story as being what really happened.:omg:
Isn’t the BBC run by the British government ?? Its kind of like a open government financed operation and so far at least they seem to have mostly factual reporting.:paranoid:
another country can do something better than the U.S. can? :omg:
um, what’s wrong with the blog? This looks way too weird. I think I’m running what SJ is? Why the change? me no likey.
FK, you’re on the mobile version. go to the bottom and switch, there’s a link that gets you out of that
PJ changed things so that the blog would work better on Hand held devices.. Susan changed some setting and fixed it on her computer so lets ask her what she did .. Susan come forth and explain.. Susan .. Susan…:dancers::tongue:
See just the mere thought .. must be synchronicity..
I didn’t do anything except notice that I was in the mobile version. There was a link that said something about returning to the standard version (don’t remember exact words) When I went to the link I returned to the way the blog normally looks
so maybe it’s set up so that certain computers log on to the mobile version first?
So are your Mac’s laptops or desktops .. I could see it doing that on a laptop or a machine with not a whole lot of memory.
it’s a desktop and I usually don’t have any problems with it… though it’s not the most recent version of OS X on it
Whatever settings you have are on your computer. All this does is read the browser and identify it, then pass it along to a stylesheet and theme more suited to a small screen. Why the Macs are getting ID’d as mobile, I don’t know. Probably a feature that makes them far superior.
Anyhow, go to go to this page, and let me know what the first line says.
Also, if I’m not mistaken, there’s a link at the bottom of the moblile-optimized page that says “go back to the regular one” or something like that.
McCain and Lieberman Express Support For Sending More Troops to Iraq
Opposition to the Iraq war was the dominant factor in this week’s election. NBC’s Meet the Press invited Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) to discuss the issue. Both McCain and Lieberman expressed support for sending more troops to Iraq. Watch it:
video at link

Only 8 percent of Americans support sending more troops to Iraq. The other 92 percent were not represented this week on Meet the Press

Mark of idiots.:bf:
This is what is meant by “no good deed goes unpunished.”
 SJ, Fred, YOUSE GUYS ARE MY HEROS!
I opened IE :slap: and then read your answers.
Now everyone is happy, correct?
These old Maron videos are hysterical!
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0.6
AH! I see. Freakin’ PPC. I will change that.
mac and firefox here, too.
Yay, FK found her way to MS EMO heaven and left the half-assed intertime plateau of mobile device ickiness interface
OK, that should take care of that. PPC stands for Pocket PC, except when it stands for PowerPC (as in Macs).
:rofl2:
macs keep you on your toes, pj! :sammy:
yay, thanks PJ
I really should learn to just leave things alone. At least it’s not as bad as the time I updated to a new version, and then lost my Internet connection for 24 hours or whatever it was before I could fix the busted stuff.
Nothing like realtime trouble shooting .. I guess Boeing used to do that after the fact with their flight control computers but the test pilots got ticked off and made the software engineers go along for the ride.:eek::eek:
Nothing like having to reboot at 50,000 feet.:eek:
Well, I hope nobody’s using an ANT Fresco web browser (that’s what my Prismiq uses).
I think even the computer with Windoz NT on it has IE6 on it. You can’t just upgrade the Linux machines to the latest greatest without having to cope with dependencies issues.
hey…great 60 mins report on the career of ed bradley is on right now….its great.
yes, it’s very good, just jumped on to say so, Miz melian!
PJ, that time we were blogless was a scary time! 😯
Thanks. My friend’s thrash polka band is playing a rare gig tonight but I want to see the Bradley tribute. I used to love see him in New Orleans.
Haven’t swum backstream. Anyone see CNick today ?
Thrash polka band! I would love to hear them! I could really start tying my cultural and genetic heritage with my chosen heritage! :billcat:

Pelosi backs Murtha for majority leader
By Josephine Hearn
Speaker-in-waiting Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) threw her support behind Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) for majority leader Sunday, giving a significant boost to Murtha in his race against Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.).
“Your strong voice for national security, the war on terror and Iraq provides genuine leadership for our party, and I count on you to continue to lead on these vital issues,” Pelosi wrote Murtha Sunday in a letter obtained by The Hill. “For this and for all you have done for Democrats in the past and especially this last year, I am pleased to support your candidacy for majority leader for the 110th Congress.”

Uhhh .. WTF
Never mind ..Majority leader != Speaker of the house::yawn:
Harry Reid blew off Timmuh to appear on Bob Sheiffer’s Show? This is bee-yoo-tee-ful – Let the fact fuck put his buddies McCain and Lieberman on every week until he gets the message — no more round tables of “journalists” where right wing dickheads are ‘balanced’ by
‘liberals’ like Broder.
You know, I’m starting to take a shine to this good old Harry. :sammy:
Harry is soft spoken … Kind of like Theodore Roosevelt he carries a big stick as majority leader. 😮
Melina and Blue, ever since Thursday i”ve been completely exhausted. I think it’s just decompression, we kicked most of the rethugs out on Tuesday and everyone feeeling the pressure release.
but did we really? Did we kick enough of them out? …Im worried.
Vigilance! :fist:
I guess Im also sad about ed…not that I was all that friendly w/ him or anything. New york is such a city of personal space and ignoring people sharing an elevator with you….but I did talk to his wife last week and she was so gracious to Will, telling him that Hi is so very proud of him and talks about him all the time (in the elevator, I suppose)…I thought she was his sister for some reason. What a beautiful and classy woman.
At least he lived his life.
I actually met him some 20+ years ago at a party that a director who I worked with had at his loft…they were great friends with Jimmy Buffet and he was there with his wife and kids (who must be grown by now, but they were adorable in little lace dresses…) and members of the Eagles… and of course the obligatory skinny models. We were the tired film production people and I remember that it really annoyed me how skinny those girls were. Ed was very funny….just a nice and funny guy who was more interested in whoever were the regular people rather than the rock and roll stars.
Well we got more than we expected
ON THE AIR RIGHT NOW
well…I guess that it was less than I had hoped for in a world where its a squeaker between a racist and his opponent….wtf is the matter with people in this country?
Excellent Video here
No matter what I may think of the song, the video is deeply affecting. This should be on TV. Prime time, every channel. By the way – can I mention how bummed I am that Feingold isn’t running in ’08? As a Wisconsin native I’d really been hoping he’d go for it.
Hey Andy – How was Grand National Championship this week? just missed it.
Excellent as always, Nick’s show last night was also top notch.
I’ve yet to check out Nick’s show – I’m rarely in on Sat. nights. I’ve been meaning to podcast it.
Last nights was excellent, Nick talked about his Mom and growing up in Alabama. Absolutely you should download it.
Both shows were great. Nick was VERY personal and very touching. I was rivetted and stayed to the end even though I needed to be elsewhere.
I am seriously verklempt from 60 Minutes as well.
Off to bed.
wow
the blog went to sleep early tonight.
btw: STOP DISSING HANDHELDS YOUS GUYS! they’re limited in a lot of ways, but there’s nothing better to do while waiting for a bus — or travelling on one for that matter.
Sorry you all had to go thru emo-less hell for a few minutes
but it sure is a beautiful change from my viewpoint.
ANDY! sorry i missed you, i wanted to thank you for mentioning Opera Mobile. i’m trying it out and i’m pretty sure i’m going to buy it.
:boobs:emo-less hell sucks!
sean!
hows by you?
thanks,
your Bounce yer Boobies reminded me to turn off my animation which i can do in Opera. without the emo section and the lists of blogs etc which are only on the home page, not each day’s blog, this thing refreshes in about 20 seconds (with 250+ comments — as opposed to at least a minute and a half…
a significant savings in time. and, as we all know so well, TIME IS MONEY!
