Yes, it really is Sunday this time, and it’s an eggscloosiff for Timmy Potatohead, as he hosts Ahnuld the Governator today on Press the Meat. Then, Ike “red” Skelton, batshit crazy Duncan Hunter, and retired generals Wayne Downing and Gerry McCaffrey talk about how Iraq turned to shit as soon as the Democrats took control of congress.
On Faze the Nation, it’s Senator-Elect day, as Bush Buddy Bobby Schieffer has Bob “call me Harold” Corker, Claire McCaskill, and Sherrod Brown.
Over at Fux News Sunday, it’s Charlie Rangel, Barney Frank, John Dingell, and token Republican Trent “the comeback kid” Lott. Plus some guy named Joe Robert of the group “Fight for Children.”
Over at Wolf Blitzer’s Late Emission, it’s redneck Senator John “Barley” Cornyn of Texas, Jack Reed of Rhode Island, Iraqi Security Adviser (there’s a good career choice) Mowaffak al-Rubaie, former national security adviser, Zbigniew “can I buy a vowel” Brzezinski, war criminal Henry Kissinger. Maryland’s Lieutenant Governor and the next RNC Chairman, Michael “loser” Steele, Donna “loser” Brazile, and a pair of retired military dudes, David Grange (U.S. Army) and Michael Delong (U.S. Marine Corps).
Later, on 60 Minutes, Lara Logan talks to General John Abizaid, Commander of the US Central Command, about how he plans of fixing Iraq. Then Lesley Stahl reports on the how the Republicans will take back control of Congress by distributing a new pill in clinical trials that “can dull the memories of people, especially those who have experienced trauma.” Nope, no potential for abuse there. And Scott Pelley does a story on Jay “Mozart” Greenberg, who composed five symphonies by the time he was 13, and now has a hot new recording contract.
More importantly, it’s all new episodes of the Simpsons, American Dad, and the Family guy (or, if you don’t like those, you can watch Brokeback Mountain on HBO at 7:30 EST), and of course an all-new episode of the Wire (gotta keep the devil down in the hole, after all) at 9:00. Enjoy your Sunday.

Rockets fired into Israel despite Gaza truce deal
Fresh attacks put agreement in doubt, even as Israeli troops pull out
JERUSALEM – Israeli troops withdrew from the Gaza Strip as a last-minute cease-fire deal took hold Sunday morning, but two major Palestinian militant groups, saying they had no intention of stopping their attacks, fired volleys of homemade rockets into Israel.
The ongoing rocket attacks by Hamas and Islamic Jihad tempered hopes for a lasting truce, which was meant to end five months of deadly clashes. The attacks caused no injuries.

Canadian allegedly leading insurgency
A top U.S. military commander says the most disciplined, intense attacks from insurgency forces in Iraq to date are being masterminded by an Iraqi Canadian. Abu Abdul Rahman, who reportedly left Canada in 1995 after marrying an Iraqi woman, is now one of the leaders of a disciplined insurgency unlike anything the American troops have experienced in the past, the New York Times reported yesterday. snip.
A battle last week in the village of Turki, east of Baghdad, lasted for 40 hours of close combat, killing at least 72 insurgents and two American officers, the Times noted. “We hadn’t seen anything like this in years,” said Lt.-Col. Andrew Poppas of the 82nd Airborne Division.
Poppas singled out the leadership of Rahman and told the newspaper the Iraqi Canadian had been mentioned on jihadist websites as a future replacement for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Jordanian who once headed Al Qaeda in Iraq, a group known for its beheadings of foreigners.
There have been Canadians singled out in the past for their alleged involvement in Iraq — but the details of their cases differ from those mentioned by the military commander.

Canada is our number one oil importer they better watch out ..:eek::eek:
Seans “room” is right behind his seat .. Smells a lot of essence of number two .. Has a built in loud clattering sound to lull you to sleep..That might be cool for a couple of days ..depends on the roommate I suppose.:eek:

AP Analysis: Firms Crimping Oil Supplies
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — You’d think it was Texas. Dusty roads course the scrubland toward oil tanks and warehouses. Beefy men talk oil over burritos at lunch. Like grazing herds, oil wells dip nonstop amid the tumbleweed — or even into the asphalt of a parking lot.
That’s why the rumor sounded so wrong here in California’s lower San Joaquin Valley, where petroleum has gushed up more riches than the whole gold rush. Why would Shell Oil Co. simply close its Bakersfield refinery? Why scrap a profit maker?
The rumor seemed to make no sense. Yet it was true
The company says it could make more money on other projects. It denies it intended to squeeze the market, as its critics would claim, to drive up gasoline profits at its other refineries in the region
http://tinyurl.com/yn2qg4
=======================
Unfettered capitalism in action ..:yuck:
refinery closing:
it makes sense for oil producers & refiners to reduce supplies thereby increasing prices. we are using it up pretty quickly afterall.
it also makes sense that the increased profits be put into r & d for renewable energy. some of this is happening, but not enough, because stockholders want short term dividends and rising stock prices instead of possible future gains.
this is where tax policy is needed to direct profits into new directions. excess profits’ taxes probably wouldn’t increase tax revenues much, but it would move the corporations into greater investment in (financially) risky projects.
that’s what those guys in the cafes should be talking about.
All the good ol boys club aka oil company CEOs want is more ..more ..more ..All they know how to do is drill and pump and most of the time they buy the new oil wells from independents so all they are these days are paper companies with outdated refineries ..
Just waiting to move to their condo outside Beijing or to Paraguay:bf:
no fred i disagree:
most corporate suits like the money, who wouldn’t? but the key to their behavior is which part of human nature are they over expressing which results in a socially destructuve end.
the power and the approval from the rest of the pack is what moves most corporatists. they’re the ultimate darwinians involved in a life game. most “play by the rules” but the primary rule is that winning is everything. you’re either #1 or nothing. laurie anderson had a great bit about people and computers: you’re either a 1 or a zero.
most of these (mostly) guys hope never to retire to anywhere other than a boardroom.

Saw Mr. FK on Today Show reporting from Tel Aviv. Sounds like a safer area but I dread that the whole middle east will become a powder keg sooner or laer.
I finished watching the Maron and Rhodes commentary to “Left of the Dial”. This thing is hilarious. Towards the end, after recounting the aftermath of the 2004 election, Maron quips, “I think we are starting to look good for the mid-terms”.
Good Morning :joe:
Great video FK. The best of luck to Mr. FK in the middle east.
hey everyone!
As the Bush administration debates much of the world about what to do about global warming, butterflies and ski-lift operators, polar bears and hydroelectric planners are on the move.
In their separate ways, wild creatures, business executives and regional planners are responding to climate changes that are rapidly recalibrating their chances for survival, for profit and for effective delivery of public services.
Butterflies are voting with their wings, abandoning southern Europe and flying north to the more amenable climes of Finland. Ski-lift operators in the West are lobbying for leases on federal land higher up in the Rockies, trying to outclimb snowlines that creep steadily upward.

Mating Season Can Be Perilous for Right Whales
Humans Hold Key to Survival of Endangered Species
As autumn wanes and North Atlantic right whales again migrate to calving grounds off the Southeast coast, humans will determine the fate of the majestic creatures hunted almost to extinction in centuries past.
An emergency ban on gill-net fishing prompted by the death of a right whale calf entangled in fishing gear last winter off Florida was reimposed this month. The National Marine Fisheries Service has issued notice that it would like to make the rule permanent.
The ban on use the long horizontal nets either anchored to the bottom or attached to floats on the surface affects only a few fishermen, said David Bernhart, chief of the agency’s protected resources division in the Southeast.
On average, two of the calves will not make it to maturity and one will be a male, Zoodsma said. So a female, on average, must live to 28 years to replace herself.
Then there is the worry the whales may have reached the point of no return with only a few hundred left.
“That’s definitely a concern,” Zoodsma said. “We don’t have any proof that we’re there yet. But it’s definitely a question in our minds.”

Here is a totally cool CD player radio on sale….I like this but I dont really need it.
Still shopping…..
Oh, cool. My father-in-law has something close to that, but his has a wood finish.
Well, Hi doesnt have a CD player and it does have analoge dials, so it would be good for him…but he has a little old radio that he uses so he will reject it. He also live through that styling and probably doesnt like it.
Im heading out to target for a bit to wander round and try to sort out teacher gifts….No Frank Rich today. How dare he take a vacation day!
Dowd is great
Hey everybody! Its 69 degrees in Bham :hot: wtf I’ve just been laying around. Watched a little Rocky and Bullwinkle this morning. Took a peek at Meet the press and Chris Wallace. I’m so tired of politics. Blah! Yesterday’s live show turned out to be one of the best. Go here to give a listen. The return of NickiRose and Susan Joy! See Fred, I knew they couldn’t stay away for long. This is the BEST damn blog in the whole GD Universe! Bar none . . . :yippee:
I donno what I’ll do today. I should be out enjoying this nice weather. But I kinda like the cold better. It is November after all. I can’t get motivated to put up the Christmas lights around the balcony. YES, I the non-Christian do enjoy holiday lights. My Christian roots I suppose. I’ll prolly put up a multicolored tree made of lights in the center of the balcony again this year. Everyone seems to like my light show. Maybe I’ll take a picture of the lights and post to the photo gallery.
I’m listening to some of my favorite gay podcasters. Enjoy the day. It’s back to work tomorrow. Blah!
Gorgeous day here, too. Got up to about 60, which is just about perfect as far as I’m concerned. And there was a doggy sniffin’ & swimming party at the creek, with about 8 dogs enjoying the water.
It’s about 70 degrees here. Very nice. Not sure what I’m gonna do for the rest of the day.
I think I’m having a tryptophan flashback.
Sounds like PJ needs a nappy poo. Since i have soi much cranberry sauce left because I forgot to bring it, I’m gonna have some store chicken for an early dinner.
Greetings everyone!
Hmmm, no one here.
Sounds like you were raised catholic, Andy.:pope:
Grand National Championship tonight @ 8 pm CENTRAL TIME.

Hey Krista, actually I came into it rather late.
A latent Catholic, huh. Did you miss out on all the indoctrination fun?
So, I see the Bills won today. I guess Sean was good luck for them.
Hey all….I was just shopping inTarget and listening to the end of cnick’s podcast where he discuses his sexual preferences in detail….I was shopping and trying not to laugh out loud or go…eeekkkk!….but anyway…just a little unexpected for the “mixed crowd”, though I suppose its information that Id prefer not to knwo about anyone…gay or straight, unless Im personally involved in those preferences.
So, I got all sorts of cool stuff and some nice dishes that Im trying out.
Throw down here, you clever bastards.
man, almost fell asleep at work today….
true, when I do satire it’s not going to be anonymous…
hello sheeple
Must be fun doing anonymous personal attacks. I would bet that you don’t get any sex. Probably a secret Republican, too.
I outta of realized that Melina. I guess sometimes I go for the shock value. BIZZZ. Ouch. Okay, I’ll try to remember that I have str8 people listening to my podcasts too. Or put a big warning for those with delicate ears and sensibilities. You’re so silly. Love ya. Laters
hmm this blog is not working quite right, I’m posting but the comment doesn’t seem to be going in the “recent comments” section…
Okay, so I know we talked about not downloading from the iTunes store but I wanted some instant gratification tonight and downloaded Robbie Williams CD “Rudebox”. I love the title track.
Hey Painting Girl, I’m gonna be listening tonight. So happy you joined the live show on Saturday afternoon. We all had so much fun with that show!
As long as you don’t mind the limitations, it’s OK, I guess. I have Rhapsody, and for about $8 a month, I get access to their entire catalog, which includes being able to download “DRM” protected content, or for 89 cents a track, you can download the non-crippled mp3 version.
I did not take offense at your podcast announcement, CNT.
And PJ actually showed up and joined in the live show. So cool.
Thank ya NickiRose Re: 71
I don’t think I added much to the entertainment value, but at least I’m somewhat awake in the afternoon.
alright I have to reboot again, I’m not seeing a freaking thing. :omg:
Melina I may get even more graphic on Tuesday’s show. I took the minidisc to the SR (local adult theater) on Friday night. So you’ll hear a lot of moaning in the background from some chick up on the screen. Seanie should love that! Or has he settled down? Seems like I read somewhere on this blog that Seanie had found him a girl? Starting a new life are you Sean. It’s all cool.
Oh, I sounded so dumb on that live show. But the ladies were entertaining. I thought you were fine PJ. I intimidate easily when I’m around intelligent people and clam up.
Okie dokie, I guess its time for Painting Girls show! Cya guys and gals later. Bye bye
I try to follow Samuel Clemmons’ advice.
3 minutes…

Here is a pretty good looking laptop deal. Im not wild about compaqs but its a pretty good configutation with a choice of AMD chips…even dual core.
I owuld add 512 more of RAM though…also the screen is small…but otherwise it seems pretty nice.
Might have to add the wireless…it says its “available”
I have to go. But if you ever want to throw down, let me know. Here, or anywhere.
My in-laws just bought a pretty nice looking HP, 17″ widescreen Windows Media Center laptop. I’m not much for HP/Comaq either, but it had a gig of RAM, lightscribe DVD writer, and 100 gig HDD for about a grand, after rebates, and it’s way easier than trying to fix the aged piece-o-crap I put together for them a couple years back. Has an AMD Turon 64 1.8 (or something) GHz processor in it, too, built-in stereo mics and 1.3 megapixel web cam. I just wish I could get them to spring for broadband.
Throw down elsewhere. You’re really starting to bore me.
Nick…didnt bother me as much as I was in Target and it was really crowded and I was sort of laughing…I was not shocked but it went into TMI real quick…
I wont mind the one in the club if I know to expect it.
Will and I often listen to the podcast together so its just good to know up front.
He wouldnt have gotten the top or bottom part but he definitley would have gotten the dick in the mouth part. I already bother him enough because I talk about embarassing things, but that would probably send him running…..;-)
Thank you PJ…I agree….
The AMD chip is what the gamer companies are using….they find it to be faster and more reliable. Who knew?
My mother used to sing “yank my doodle, it’s a dandy” and it truly mortified me.
Is that it, PJ? You want me to leave the blog? What a double-standard.
Yeah, Intel got a leg up with the dual cores, but now AMD has a quad core coming out that is supposed to not have the processing bottleneck that the Intel quad and dual cores have.
You are boring me. There’s no double standard there.
Shalay ( ben’s neice who’s mother is in Jail…or has been deported to Haiti) just got up the courage to ask me for an ipod for christmas. I usually get her some pajamas and nail stuff and a gift card to target or some such…she is 12…
Well, I told her that I could probably get her a small ipod but that I think that she would enjoy a different brand of player because she could do more with it. She seemed delighted…but I had to tell her that if they dont get cable again I will have to bring her here and set the thing up and get her music…She seemed more delighted by that possibility because I usually only bring Ben here, and it seems like too much to get involved with all the different kids there…
So Im looking at the creative Zen vision. I was gonna get her some little 4 gig thing that can also play videos but for not much more I can get her a 30 gig creative zen and she wouldreally be able to have some music and videos in it….
Should I use Rhapsody for that player? I hate ot get it involved in my itunes…but I can set it up on a different laptop I guess….
I have to start trying to arrange for that family to get a new desktop…speaking of compaq. They have the oldest piece of shit with something like 128 megs of ram.
So you want me to leave?
apparently I talk of underwear in the underwear store and jock straps in the sports store…and everyone is looking at us all the time because we are the most interesting …..
I want you to leave NIcki! You are a self centered person who really doesnt give a shit about this blog….
There are lots of options for purchasing mp3’s. I just use Rhapsody as a music player – I never buy anything. If you have a compatible device, you can also use it for storing DRM protected stuff w/o buying it (as part of the subscription). There’s also a free subscription, but it’s limited. I can create custom radio stations and playlists. Plus, they have stuff like comedy, Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky stuff, really a great selection. And it’s about what satellite radio costs (something like $25 a quarter, or $10 a month). I think you can try it for free for like 14 days, if you wanna check it out.
Go do your art and develop yourself as whatever you are….you were never honest with any of us anyway.
Yeah, I think you would embarrass me to no end if you were my mom.
well, since she doesnt have internet connection it will be hard, even if I subsidize it. Do you lose the rights to the material if you dont keep the subscription going?
Hey, I saw your post over at RIPCOCO about Doogie Howser. I thought that was so great when he said, “there’s been some question as to my sexuality, and I just want to make it clear that I’m gay and very happy.” These closeted self-loathing Republicans would just be so much better off if they’d do the same thing. I mean, I hate to break it to you, America, but guess what? There are gay people in the world, there always have been and they’re just like the rest of us. So get over it, fer chrissakes!
Where are anonymous personal attacks? What am I missing?
well, on the other hand, Im a very cool mom…he knows he can talk to me about anything…the other moms are much more mom-ish
oh you gotta look around wv….the little messenger…someone did a very funny parody of the two lovebirds…I dont know who did it but its genius!! The one who did should get a medal. I copied it because I think Im gonna have to put it on my blog as a remembrance of what it was like all those long months.
Yeah, once you are no longer a subscriber, your devices are no longer authorized. It’s more of a way to listen to your choices while you’re offline. But you can pay per track if you wanna buy them, and they’re regular mp3’s. I think if you’re a paid subscriber, you get a deal, too (like 89 or 79 cents a track, as opposed to 99 cents).
Oh, you know, I didn’t actually see that until just now. I have to admit, it’s kinda funny. But, I don’t wanna be a referee here. I’m not very good at that sorta thing.
I did not see that as a personal attack, just flat out funny. Anyone with half of a sense of humor about themselves would think so. I read the real and the parody and it was pretty darn funny. I wish I had done it. I actually was thinking of additions at the gym this morning. Something about bialys and pizza and water. Or do you think an earthquake would liquify a hard bagel?
Sometimes a bagel is just a bagel. Didn’t Freud say that.
Yeah…old Doogie…hes really a good actor. I saw him in Cabaret as the host…i cant remember what said in that post but I like his show too….There were swooning girls there at Cabaret….I thought he was gay when I saw him…or a very good actor, because the host in cabaret is sort of gay-ish though he is also after the girls….it was pre war germany afterall….
Hey, Farmerkat. Don’t try to hide!
Ja, zose krazy krauts!
Well, they obviously think that I did it, and Id love to take credit…Im hopeless at stuff like that…but Ill say I did it if I have to…its just too good…it is real parody. Maybe it cuts a little close to the bone.
You don’t have to be a referee. Anyone who airs their laundry out in public should not be surprised when people start pointing out the stains.
I speak a bit of german, and of course my in-laws are from there, so my father-in-law is always jabbering at me. And then I have to say, um, you gotta go a little slower there. High school german was a long, long time ago.
Frankly, Melina, I thought you might own that one. I was doing a little Columbo while it was happening.
Hi!
Busted!
i’m trying to catch up and listening to this week  :pope:
AND getting cnick’s link so i can go listen to it.
WV, I was gonna say, if you gonna be ridiculous, don’t be surprised if you get ridiculed. Frankly, I don’t really care, but lots more than one or two other people have contacted me privately, and find it to be, shall we say, off-putting. I mean, I don’t do this for money or anything, so why does my life have to be made more complicated over something like this? I mean, I understand that maybe you don’t realize something, and it’s maybe kind of embarrassing and/or insulting to have it pointed out to you, but, shit, once you know, why not just use IM, or set up your own blog (hell, it’s free and easy, and then you can be master of your own domain, so to speak)? I mean, why put me in an awkward position? Why make me be a prick?
OK, I’ll stop now.
I missed Mr. on Today, today. I need a heads-up, so I can set the DVR to record him.
:billcat:
whos dirty laundry?…I dont get what youre talking about wv?….colombo?
I am doing 10 things at once all the time…have I missed something?
“I am not a prick”
I was kinda channeling Nixon, there. I do a good Nixon, but it’s got a large visual component, and of course you have to get me loosened up first.
PJ, you could never be a prick…youve been wonderful to us and you hardly ever speak up about anything…Thanks so much for this forum…Its your domain and I want you to feel free to tell me if anything I do bothers you ever….part of the reason I started my blog is because I know Im too long winded….I figured Id get some of that crap out over there….
that cat referred to something further upstream.
I’ll try to give you the heads-up pj. Thanks, folks, for the good thoughts. hopefully the cease fire will continue to hold in Palestine/Israel. enough death already. Yoko Ono took the back page out on This Week in Review in the NYT. “Forgive Us”
how come the black creative zen is $30 cheaper than the cute pink one?
He meant that he was sleuthing when the sidebar comments were made, and he was saying that if one has private conversations in public, then one shouldn’t feign indignance if other people make fun of it.
Not to put word in anybody’s, um textbox.
wv is correctomundo.
melina, when do you leave?
love to hear the nixon! :nixon: :alc:
so Kat…does he get to stay there?….are they still sending him back to Iraq after x-mas?
And what are you gonna do for x-mas?
Wanna come to Cancun? Pack the teen and book a flight!
Christmas is still up in the air. the schedule has gone back and forth. The teenager goes to his dad’s for the holiday. (We’re working on college applications now.) Cancun sounds so nice to me right now. I’ve had a lot of merde on my plate lately.
No, nobody bothers me. I don’t care for the use of the “n” word, or the “c” word, personally (even if it refers to Ann Coulter), and I don’t tolerate hate speech, though I really don’t care for political correctness. Also, I don’t really like people mentioning anything about killing anybody, because I really don’t approve of killing, even in jest (and I really don’t want to be put in the position of having the FBI or the Secret Service contacting me). Actually, it’s all there in the Blog Rulz, and everybody here has been pretty good (I’ve had a couple of troll battles, which is a pain, but has mostly been contained).
I am so confused!
:billcat:
Stupid weak metaphors, Melina.
Kinda what PJ said.
PJ, As I tried to say last week, I think you are doing a great job maintaining a free range sandbox for everybody to play in in the tradition of its namesake. I think you are very tolerant and let things flow.
I am fairly new around here and do not have the institutional memory many have so I don’t know if there have been problems before. This seemed to be a nuisance that some folks started doing a litle complaining about last week. I did not see anyone putting the smack down on anyone and I thought it sort of worked itself out. I saw the thing start up again last night and just had a little chuckle to myself. I saw the thing this morning and had a big laugh.
I think you have been more than patient. I don’t think it is right that you get called out about this.
:rofl2:
pj, you’re very clever. I enjoy reading your writing.
Nightie-Night bloggie-poos. (Hope NC blue got moved a-ok….)
P.S. the satire was so well done that I thought the protagonists had written it themselves in good fun!
A Brooklyn artist contracted with an Iraqi date merchant for some dates to be used in an art project that examines progress in Iraq. What happened is interesting in light of the stated aim of the Bush administration to make life better for the iraqi people.
http://tinyurl.com/yd7djj
nite Kat…feel free to meet me in Cancun Dec 16th-23rd or any point therein…since there is a teen center I expect that Will is gonna be mostly busy…the rest of the time he sort of grunts these days…
I didnt know there were blog rules….let me go and look.
I was thinking it was kind of a parody of a parody.
Thats so funny Sue. Its the neighborhood where I grew up and my first thought was Why didnt he just go down the st to Sahadi and buy some damned dates….that street is all full of importers…
I know, I know…it was a political art exercise…..very cool in a way, but how did he afford the rent for all of those months waiting for his dates?
You know FK, I thought that might be the case as well. There was some mention of that on Painting Girl’s broadcast chat this evening.
Well, whoever wrote it is one hell of a talented satirist. If they are not writing professionally they should be.
Well, that would be great if it really was them. That would show that they don’t take themselves so seriously. I mean, if there’s anything I thought all MS fans had in common, it was that we didn’t take anything – especially ourselves – too seriously.
PJ-I LOVE the rulz! How long have we had them? I cant remember ever seeing them, but they are funny and great…though you know, when there are rulz I always want ot break them. Its part of what makes me a BAD mom….Will is a straight arrow and Im always parkign illegally…so how do I become a troll or whatever….? Is smoking allowed on this blog? I was kicking around the idea of starting again …of course, its winter and the birds can die from smoke…and Will would be upset…and it makes me sick….so what else is there?
Anywayz…I love the rulz…I will try to follow them…really I will!
I need to practice writing satire….maybe I can be one of Andy’s writers when he assembles his crew….
But Im not that good …hopeless….
Is Boston Legal supposed to be good?….
Those have been there since pretty much day-one. Jeez, I take the time to write this shit….
If you must smoke, I’ll put up a “smoking room” page. BTW, I dunno if you’ve ever seen that BBC show, “The Smoking Room,” but it’s great.
Melina,
Apparently the dates in Sahadi’s are not from Iraq. I will add that to my interesting but useless info.
Personally, I like Boston Legal but if you watch a current episode, it may not seem that good. I suggest trying to catch the first season episodes if you want to check it out. I thought that season was excellent.
I started watching Boston Legal during the second season, and I get a real kick out of it. As with any Soap Opera, there’s a lot of backstory there, so, as WV says, it might be tough to walk into now.
OK, MLM, come out and say hello!
Hello!………HELLO!
That’s better!
I think Boston Legal is one of the best shows on TV, thats why I found it impossible to boycott ABC
Hey Moonlightman!
Was it good tonight? I still have a few hours to wait.
Hi Andy!…. er…..HELLO ANDY!
I didn’t even mention George Snufalufagus today, and I’d like to say it’s because of the boycott, but, truth be told, it’s ‘cuz I forgot.
:rofl2::yippee::rofl2:
OK, blue, time to say hi. Does the fact that I recognize IP addresses make me a geek?
I don’t know PJ, who’s your favorite Star Trek captain?
Blue!!!
When I was a kid there was a midget at Sahadis with that hydroencephalitis…he had a huge bulbous head….it was of endless interest to me but Mom always said dont stare….He was part of the original family there. I suppose he must be dead by now. He was always pretty messed up.
I need to check the ip whois thing….very cool…
Yes, youre a geek PJ, but youre our geek…and ifyoure a geek then what does that make ME??
Oh and, I wont start smoking again. I cant even if I try.
I think I have to go with Picard, though it took me a while to get used to him. Of course, Kirk is Kirk. Fightin’ and F*ckin’. Now that’s a real Starship Captain.
snufleupagus didnt have much good on…only Matthews with his Edwards report…and how Edwards has all the time in the world to spend time in Iowa and New Hampshire…and how the lobor unions love him and even though he has little experience, he is a darling, in that he is right for the times….
I know that Im behind him….
Picard wasa little too aristocratic for me. Not that I disliked him. After Kirk I think I have to go with Sisko. The whole “Hawk” thing.
Yeah, I liked Sisko. Plus, the Defiant was a kickass ship.
And Sisko’s old man was a helluva cook.
MLM, Thanks for the reminder. It is on tonight and part 2. I missed show before last and am watching it right now. PJ always does a better job saying what I am trying to say for me. Back story. That is what I was trying to say.
Picard although I watched Shatner vs. Montalban this afternoon.
like Edwards. I wish Biden hadn’t f’d up on bankruptcy.
Well off to bed for me. Goodnight all.
re 163. Damn straight!
Kirk…definitley…but Picard as a second choice…that other oen…#2…was married to Genie Francis in real life….Laura from General Hospital…My Mom watched GH whan I was a kid so it all seemed to mush together…
OK kiddies…Im off to bed.
Very busy day tomorrow and I have to shop and get the rest of this stuff done.
Wish I felt better….
Nite all….
Melina, if yor halal turkey flies into buildings and explodes on Thanksgiving tables, what might a bowl of Iraqi dates do?
Apparently the gubbermint agents found them suspicious. We’re probably lucky they didn’t raise the alert level.
What happened to all those color coded alerts, anyway?
#1 – Jonanthan Frakes – , yeah, he was (or is) married to Genie Francis.
Anyhow, nite y’all.
Here is a great speech that you can find on Crooks and Liars on March 15, 2006 from Boston Legal. I doubt if the links below will work here but it is worth checking out.
Shore (James Spader) from Boston Legal gives one of those great monologues that we all wished would be said by somebody other than a great actor. In the episode “Stick it,” Alan Shore’s secretary, Melissa (Marisa Coughlan), is arrested for tax evasion, he takes on the case of this outspoken girl who says her late, patriotic grandfather would be proud of her for challenging the government.
Video-WMP Video- QT longer version 5 min (video appears to be a little choppy)
Audio–MP3-new
Shore: At a presidential rally, parade or appearance. If you have on a supportive t-shirt you can be there. If you’re wearing or carrying something in protest, you can be removed, This in the United States of America.- This in the United States of America! Is Melissa Hughes the only one embarrassed?
emailer CS: “James Spader’s character gives such a fiery and passionate speech about the lies, mistruths and unethical behavior of this Administration that it made me jump from the couch and yell triumphantly at my TV. Covered everything from lies on WMD, to torture, Abu Ghirab, Guantanamo, and, most importantly, illegal wiretapping”
Thanks for the attempt wvmc3d! Glad there is another BL fan here. I am over and out. Later…………….
And tonight’s BL is a re-run from last week. Tuesday is the conclusion.
