Here we go, another week. Looks like Al Gore was the big winner in the MS 2008 Primary race. Interesting that the top two vote getters aren’t even running (so they say). If you take a look at who’s running, it looks like an Edwards/Obama ticket (which might not actually be so bad; perhaps we’re ahead of the curve, here). If we’re all still around in ’08, we’ll have to see how close we came. Lots-o-shit to do, so I reckon I’d better get going. Enjoy.

Chavez wins re-election by wide margin
CARACAS, Venezuela – President Hugo Chavez, an outspoken opponent of the United States who has used Venezuela’s oil wealth to give handouts to the poor, won re-election to another six-year term by a wide margin on Sunday, official results showed.
With 78 percent of voting stations reporting, Chavez had 61 percent to 38 percent for challenger Manuel Rosales, said Tibisay Lucena, head of the country’s elections council. Chavez had nearly 6 million votes versus 3.7 million for Rosales, according to the partial tally.
Turnout was 62 percent, according to an official bulletin of results, making Chavez’s lead insurmountable.

Telemundo: Venezuela Halts Transmission
© 2006 The Associated Press
CARACAS, Venezuela — Officials identifying themselves as members of a state regulatory agency forced the U.S.-based Spanish-language TV network Telemundo to halt transmission Sunday of its presidential election coverage.
“We’re surprised by this,” said Pablo Iacub, a member of Telemundo’s eight-person team, which arrived last week. “We only want to do our work,” he said by telephone.
At least six people who identified themselves as members of the National Commission of Telecommunications (CONATEL), which regulates electronic media in Venezuela, arrived Sunday afternoon at the hotel from which Telemundo had been transmitting since Friday, said Iacub.
The officials said the network needed permission to transmit and lacking such could not, he said. Iacub said he was unaware of such a requirement but that the Telemundo journalists were accredited with Venezuela’s national elections council.
Iacub said the Telemundo team asked how they could obtain permission and, after an hour, were told that they would not be able to transmit.

US tells UK banks to shut down Iran operations
US tells banks to shut down Iran operations
By Andrew Murray-Watson
Published: 03 December 2006
Several of the UK’s largest banks fear they could face the full legislative wrath of the US government unless they bow to Washington’s pressure to shut their operations in Iran.
It is believed that officials in President George Bush’s administration have also put pressure on banks with operations in the US, including RBS, HSBC and Barclays, to stop acting on behalf of UK business customers in Iran. Barclays, it is thought, has already told its corporate clients that it will not accept deposits from transactions originating in Iran.
The finance director of an AIM-listed company with significant operations in Iran said: “Barclays told us that it is unable to act as our bank as far as Iran is concerned. We have not been told why.” HSBC has said it will no longer accept dollar transactions from within Iran, while RBS declined to comment.
Although the UK banks involved are listed and incorporated in the UK, all have either a secondary listing or substantial operations in the US that makes them potentially vulnerable to US government action. A senior executive at one of the banks affected said: “The consequences of not toeing the American line on Iran have not been made clear, but we were left in no doubt that we might not want to find out.”

Rising wages forcing companies to look beyond India
Monday , December 04 2006 12:03 PM
Skills shortages and rising wages in India will increasingly force U.K. businesses to look at alternative offshore outsourcing locations, according to the National Outsourcing Association (NOA).
Almost two-thirds (60 percent) of respondents to an NOA survey said skills shortages in India will push up offshoring costs and negatively impact the decision of U.K. companies looking to outsource there. That echoes a recent warning by India’s IT trade body Nasscom that the country faces a shortage of highly-skilled IT workers by 2010.
Recent data security incidents at Indian call centers will also stop financial institutions offshoring there in the short and medium term, according to a third of the survey respondents.
In terms of alternative offshore outsourcing locations three-quarters said China is the destination most likely to challenge India’s dominance over the next five years on both cost and capacity.
(snip)
Concern about U.K. jobs being lost to India hit the headlines again last week when a Deloitte & Touche survey found almost a third of the U.K. public believes companies should be forced to bring jobs back into the country, while 82 percent said enough U.K. jobs have now been moved offshore.

Wal-Mart Girds for Showdown With New Congress on Unions, Trade
Dec. 4 (Bloomberg) — Wal-Mart Stores Inc., long an ally of Republicans, has spent the last two years ramping up political donations to Democrats. The company will soon find out whether that bet will pay off.
The world’s largest retailer will contend next year with a Democratic-led Congress with close ties to organized labor. Democratic leaders say one of their priorities is a bill opposed by Wal-Mart making it easier for workers at the non-union company to organize. Lawmakers may also block Wal-Mart’s plans to operate a bank and thwart trade deals that allow the company to import goods at low prices.
Bentonville, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart says it wants to persuade lawmakers that criticism of its labor practices is unwarranted and that free trade helps consumers. The company has enlisted at least one Democratic ally, Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, and has given money to the Congressional Black Caucus, a group of 43 Democratic lawmakers.
“We’re optimistic,” says Lee Culpepper, who heads lobbying efforts in Washington for Wal-Mart. “Our opportunity to build relationships will probably lead to an increase” in donations to Democrats.

The House of Death
When 12 bodies were found buried in the garden of a Mexican house, it seemed like a case of drug-linked killings. But the trail led to Washington and a cover-up that went right to the top. David Rose reports from El Paso
(snip)
Luis Padilla, 29, father of three, had been kidnapped, driven across the Mexican border from El Paso, Texas, to a house in Ciudad Juarez, the lawless city ruled by drug lords that lies across the Rio Grande. As his wife tried frantically to locate him, he was being stripped, tortured and buried in a mass grave in the garden – what the people of Juarez call a narco-fossa, a narco-smugglers’ tomb.
Just another casualty of Mexico’s drug wars? Perhaps. But Padilla had no connection with the drugs trade; he seems to have been the victim of a case of mistaken identity. Now, as a result of documents disclosed in three separate court cases, it is becoming clear that his murder, along with at least 11 further brutal killings, at the Juarez ‘House of Death’, is part of a gruesome scandal, a web of connivance and cover-up stretching from the wild Texas borderland to top Washington officials close to President Bush.
…
From a post on DU
The US media have virtually ignored this story. The Observer is the first newspaper to have spoken to Janet Padilla, and this is the first narrative account to appear in print. The story turns on one extraordinary fact: playing a central role in the House of Death was a US government informant, Guillermo Ramirez Peyro, known as Lalo, who was paid more than $220,000 (£110,000) by US law enforcement bodies to work as a spy inside the Juarez cartel. In August 2003 Lalo bought the quicklime used to dissolve the flesh of the first victim, Mexican lawyer Fernando Reyes, and then helped to kill him; he recorded the murder secretly with a bug supplied by his handlers – agents from the Immigration and Customs Executive (Ice), part of the Department of Homeland Security. That first killing threw the Ice staff in El Paso into a panic. Their informant had helped to commit first-degree murder, and they feared they would have to end his contract and abort the operations for which he was being used. But the Department of Justice told them to proceed.

Sorry for disappearing like that, Druid. I had just overstayed a party for an old NOLa by way of SF friend visiting from Hawaii by about 4 hours and just crashed after I mega’d. I ran into an old acquaintance who used to live in a little red house an old GF’s family owned in Arcata, NorCal and he is usually good for slowing your party agenda by at least 30%. Now there is some geo-outing.
Anyway, I was beat and without the benefit of a great dream I crashed. The next thing I knew is that I was dreaming Bolton was leaving. I’m now trying to figure out if it is that Desperate Housewife or Percy Sledge finally got to him. Now I am hearing something about Santorum. Talk about man-on-dog!

Meanwhile, Gypsy has resumed the food throne so I don’t have to post recipe links. Brownback Moves Toward White House Bid
By SAM HANANEL
The Associated Press
Monday, December 4, 2006; 11:08 AM
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Republican Sen. Sam Brownback, a favorite of the religious right, said Monday he is taking the first step toward launching a bid for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.
A vigorous abortion opponent, the Kansas senator pledged to make “issues of life,” fiscal restraint and tax reform key components of his effort to woo supporters.
“I have decided, after much prayerful consideration, to consider a bid for the Republican nomination for the presidency,” Brownback said in a statement. “There is a real need in our country to rebuild the family and renew our culture and there is a need for genuine conservatism and real compassion in the national discussion.”
Brownback said he has formed a presidential exploratory committee, which will allow him to travel the country and raise money while gauging support for the GOP nomination.
He also announced 20 members of his exploratory advisory committee, an eclectic mix ranging from anti-abortion activists to business executives, including: Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan, former Major League Baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn, and the Rev. Frank Pavone, head of the advocacy group Priests for Life.
Brownback has openly weighed a presidential bid for nearly two years, but has struggled to build a national profile despite more than a dozen trips to Iowa and other states with early nomination contests.
Still, he could influence members of the GOP’s powerful conservative Christian wing skeptical of better-known, more moderate Republicans like Senator John McCain of Arizona and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also have established exploratory committees.
Nevertheless, Brownback’s bid is considered a long shot in what is shaping up to be a nomination race led by better-known candidates.
The number of possible candidates with a claim to the GOP’s social conservative wing has shrunk in recent weeks with the defeat of Sen. George Allen of Virginia in the midterm election and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist’s decision to forego a run for president.
Brownback said he plans to visit 10 states over the next month, starting in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Tuesday.
Brownback’s chief of staff, Rob Wasinger, will take over the exploratory committee and the senator will begin building his organization and staff immediately, spokesman Brian Hart said. Plans call for Brownback to open his main offices in the Kansas City, Kan., area.
Despite his strong appeal among Protestant evangelicals and his Methodist roots, Brownback converted to Roman Catholicism in 2002 with the support of Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., another prominent social conservative. He says his faith guides his opposition to abortion, gay marriage and embryonic stem cell research.
Brownback’s faith also leads him to tackle social injustice around the world. He’s spearheaded legislation to fight genocide in Sudan, cut down human slave trafficking and prison recidivism. Last week, he took an AIDS test with a potential White House rival on the Democratic side _ Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois _ to encourage others to be tested.
Brownback grew up on a farm near tiny Parker, Kan., where his parents still live. After receiving his law degree from the University of Kansas in 1982, he practiced law in Manhattan, Kan., and served as state agriculture secretary.
He was elected to the U.S. House in 1994 with the wave of Republicans who took control of both the House and Senate for the first time in 40 years. Two years later, he won a special election to succeed Bob Dole in the Senate after Dole left the seat to run for president.
Brownback, who promised to serve no more than two terms, has said he will not seek re-election in 2010.
Apart from McCain and Giuliani, other potential GOP contenders for the White House include Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Gov. George Pataki of New York, Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, Rep. Duncan Hunter of California and former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson.

According to his website, and I feel like taking a shower after going there in case I accidentally got any self-righteousness on me, Brownback was elected to the seat that had previously belonged to Bob “Look out Liddy, I just took the Viagra” Dole when Dole abandoned it in 1996 to run for president.
Doing the math, this would mean Brownback was re-elected in 2002 and will be up again in 2008, barring a presidential run. Of course, he could always do a Lieberman and run concurrently for his Senate seat as well as the Repig nomination.
I keep showing my Freudian slip and wanting to call him Bareback or Brokeback, but if he runs for prez I’m sure the late-night comics will be right there with me.
:rofl2:
Kevin, if it makes you feel any better (and it probably won’t), one of my friends says he’s heard the word “brownback” used to describe what he oh-so-delicately calls, “the residue that adheres after unprotected anal sex.”
:rofl2: (we don’t have a puke one, do we? I think I’ll stick with :jerk:)
:barf:ok well i always thought that was called santorum but i suppose since he is gone brownback can be the new word for anal lube and shit……
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.
Albert Einstein
Well, Santorum is the frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is the byproduct of anal sex (according to Dan Savage), so I guess that would mean that Brownback is Santorum without the lube.
I’m not sure how man on :pup: fits into all this, so to speak, but then I’m not a Republican member (I did it again!) of Congress.

So what useless drivel is Randi Rhodes babbling on and on about this afternoon ??…The Dems said no impeachment and from what we saw with the judicial nominees once you elect them what the voter thinks is pretty much immaterial.
.Suppose that nothing changes between now and 2008 .. is electing a dem as presidork going to make any difference ??:yuck::eek::crap::reaper::reaper:
I have said this a couple of times but rethugs are like the solid waste recovery tank at the waste water treatment plant .. They bubble air through the mixture and that forces the big peaces to come to the surface where they are skimmed off .( the smell is also similar) .As you get rid of the big peaces more waste is pumped in from the bottom and the process repeats until the tank is full of the finer residue then the whole tank is flushed into a slurry pipe line and the slurry is buried some place..
The problem with the rethugs is that we never do anything with them after they are flushed from the system so they just come back .:reaper::reaper:
It was my understanding that Santorum referred to all white residue whilst Brownback referred to darker color residue. But I bow to the wisdom of others who’ve paid more attention to current usage.
Suspect in PlayStation 3 Robbery Killed
Dec 4, 9:52 AM (ET)
WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) – A teenager accused of robbing a student of two new Playstation 3s on the day the popular game consoles were introduced was killed by police who had been sent to arrest him.
Peyton Strickland, 18, was killed Friday at a house he shared with three roommates, New Hanover County Sheriff Sid Causey said.
“If this boy would’ve come to the door, opened the door, we probably wouldn’t be talking,” the sheriff said Sunday.
Roommate Mike Rhoton said Strickland was unarmed, but may have been holding a video game controller when he went to the door as it was bashed in by officers.
Arrest warrants alleged that Strickland, a student at Cape Fear Community College, and a University of North Carolina-Wilmington student stole two PlayStation units from another UNC-Wilmington student that day.
The sheriff said the robbery victim had waited three days in line to buy two Playstation 3 units for $641 each at a Wal-Mart. He was unloading the units at his campus apartment when one man beat him to the ground while another took the PlayStations, Causey said.
The sheriff said Strickland was shot by members of a a special police unit who went to help university officers serve warrants. He would not say why the special team was assisting.
Strickland’s dog, a German shepherd, also was shot to death.
The State Bureau of Investigation is examining the case and three deputies on the team were placed on paid leave, Causey said.
The second man named in the warrants was arrested at another address and was released on bail on Saturday, authorities said.

Wal-Mart opponents stifled
Cite free-speech rights after Littleton tells them to cover shirts, buttons
Littleton – A fight over a new Wal-Mart is turning into a battle over free speech after opponents were told to put down their signs and take off their buttons and T-shirts in city hall last week.
“We felt like we were being railroaded,” said Robert Davis, 65, who was forced to turn his “Littleton Against Wal-Mart” shirt inside out. “This flies in the face of the First Amendment.”
A half-dozen or more police officers told numerous opponents to remove or cover their regalia or leave, according to witnesses.
“We weren’t going to do anything,” said Davis, who is now working with Denver civil rights lawyer David Lane on a possible lawsuit. “We all just thought wearing them would be a silent protest, in case we didn’t get to speak.”

Supreme Court revists school integration case
The US Supreme Court will step into a political minefield of race on Monday when it hears two cases testing the constitutionality of public school integration.
The cases – in which primarily white parents are challenging school desegregation programmes in Louisville, Kentucky and Seattle, Washington – could set historic new guidelines for how and when race can be used to integrate America’s rapidly resegregating schools.

Muslim-American Group Targets Radio Host Over Koran Oath Comments
WASHINGTON — A Muslim-American advocacy group has called on radio talk show host Dennis Prager to be removed from the governing board of the federally funded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum after Prager last week blasted a representative-elect for planning to use the Koran at his swearing-in next month.
Prager, who is Jewish, slammed Minnesota Democrat Keith Ellison, the first Muslim to be elected to the U.S. Congress, after Ellison announced he plans to have his oath of office photo taken with the Koran instead of the Christian Bible, which is traditional.
“Insofar as a member of Congress taking an oath to serve America and uphold its values is concerned, America is interested in only one book, the Bible,” he wrote in a column titled, “America, Not Keith Ellison, Decides What Book a Congressman Takes His Oath On.”
“If you are incapable of taking an oath on that book, don’t serve in Congress,” Prager wrote, adding that using the Koran “undermines American civilization.”
The Washington, D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a statement Monday calling for Prager’s ouster from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, the museum’s advisory council.

Home prices drop 18 percent
Prices remain the story in home sales, with Sarasota-Bradenton prices falling 18 percent in October, the second biggest drop in the state.
The median sales price in the Sarasota-Bradenton market was $277,900 last month, compared with $340,700 during the same month in booming 2005.
The Charlotte County-North Port market was not far behind, with a drop of 17 percent, from $243,900 to $202,800.

Heading home now. Be good, folks. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t be proud to brag about you for.
Evening, Seditionists!
How ya all doing? I do a podcast called Indirect Democracy. At the end of the podcast I give out an award called the What a Weinie Award. It’s similar to the Dick of the Week. (You get the idea.)
I would love some suggestions for an end of the year of person, the Weinie of the Year – who you think would be best. You don’t have to give any reasons unless you want to – of course, if I do use that suggestion and the reasons why I will read it in the podcast and credit that person for their contribution.
Thanks for any input.
David
Thanks for the link to your podcast David. I’m listening now. Sounds good.
Hey David…I listened to your most recent podcast last night…very good…
I would have to nominate either George Bush or Dick Cheney or Rummy….for obvious reasons…
But of course youve got the ever changing whirl of deviants on congress and the senate and…well, if it isnt dancing girls and gambling, its pedophilia…
How would one choose?
How bout a pop culture one?….Perhaps Tom Cruise for his Scientology wedding and birth….or Nicole Richie for her public anorexia…or Brittany who parties with no panties on through her custody case….
The there is always Bill O”reilly.
Is it too late to add Danny Goldberg to the list?…who has really hurt the cause by crippling AAR?….and continuing to take his salary even as it slides into bankruptcy….
ah, shall I go on…?
Nick, I had linked to it before from my page…and David reminded me last night during PG’s live show….
Oh and, how you doing today??
Get this…in order to use pocklet tunes in my new palm treo 700 I have to download windows media player but in order to do that I have to install service pack 2, which they have been tryign to get me to take for a year already…
It froze up my computer last time I installed it, so Im not too fond of it. I just put it in the other laptop and it took it off the network,,,I cant, for the life of me figure out what the hell happened, and iM pretty good with these things…
Evil microsoft…
My friend sheryl is trying to get me to come over to the dark side of apple…
i’m okay, talking to a friend on the phone and trying to listen to david
Yeah, I recall having trouble with the Service pack when I downloaded it. It worked okay when I installed a Full version of XP Professional. I really think its something to do with the download. Oh well, PJ could speak more of this.
I listen to so many podcasts. Melina you MUST listen to today’s episode of ArcherRadio. And LittleFattie is always a hoot!
Bush would definitely qualify for “Dick of the Year.” How ’bout “head up his ass award?” Bush must have his head up his ass cause he doesn’t live in the real world. He lives in a cave! Maybe his mom’s vagina?
Got XP Pro Service Pack 2 installed on, let me see, 5 of the computers here at home, and nary a problem with any of them. Most likely a problem with some other software. We also don’t seem to have a problem with viruses or spyware.
Better talk to your folks and grandfolks about safe sex.
i had problemos with that service pack on my old dell :slap:
cnick, remember that marc/jim discussion about barbara-my pearls are making my neck sag – bush’s? heh heh
I dunno, I think Bush and Cheney qualify for dicks for the whole 21st century and we’ve barely started it.
It has been a little less than a year since I last tested for HIV. And the last time was the second time I had the “Quick test”. Twenty minutes and you know your status. The only way to know ones status is to be tested. Or be asexual. I would never trust someone’s assurance they are negative. I think this rule should apply to the heterosexual community as well. A confession. I have had (since being last tested) unprotected sex. I have no one to blame for this but myself. “No” is sometimes difficult to say. But in this instance, “No” is a must. I am planning to be re-tested soon and record the test for a podcast whatever the result. I’d urge everyone (gay or straight) be tested. It is easy to find a place that will test you for free. The only way to protect others is to know your status and to practice safe sex. I have to believe that if this world legalized gay marriage, promiscuity within the gay community would decline.
In my life, the gay people I know have been in longer relationships than the straight people I know. 😉
I know of many gays who are afraid to be tested. Afraid of the possible result. I like having the peace of mind the result gives me. My trouble has been in resisting temptation. I cannot speak for the heterosexual community. But it is to easy to “hook-up” for sex within the homosexual community. I suspect even hetero men obsess about sex and gratification. I sometimes think women are less so obsessed and I wonder why? I’ve meet many ppl who say their negative, but when pressed reveal they’ve never been tested. So how “pray tell” can one know? No symptoms? HIV hides in the body. Sometimes for years. Sometimes never developing into full blown AIDS. We must encourage all to be tested. I’d even support mandatory testing.
Bush, Rummy and Cheney are certainly weinies, but they seem almost too easy. Maybe it should be someone who has helped to push their agenda like Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity. Then of course there’s Joe Lieberman who is certainly a dick and therefor a weinie?
Well, its getting close to my bedtime folks. I wake with the chickens. Ofttimes before them. Sorry for being so heavy in my last posts. But I figured since the topic of HIV was mentioned I’d offer my $0.02
Yeah…Lieberfuck!! Thats a good one!
Re HIV testing…I was tested in the old days when you had to wait 2 weeks and all of us who would get tested would go to a clinic that would assign a number so one wouldnt end up on the list the govt was collecting while they were figuring out what this thing was….
It was very nerve wracking….
I still get tested by the gyn every year that I have had any relations with anyone…in other words, most years…and I also use protection. I just find that even using protection, you cant be sure that youre totally protected unless you use triple condoms and a plastic sheet…or something…
I strongly advocate it, …and I am someone who took many scared people to the clinic gay and straight….
and I also watched alot of people die before my eyes….unbelievable how many people the club business lost in those early years.
Strangely, the insurance company doesnt want to cover the sexually transmitted disease panel…and I have to sign a waiver in case they charge, but I think that the hospital where my ob/gyn practice is absorbs it…its just so silly that all insurance companies wouldnt cover it. But I guess that if you find out too late then you cant live forever on the drugs….though you would likely spread it….
I suggest a clinic…I just do it this way because my fantastic gyn believes in this complete STD panel so pushes it.
nite nite nick…I am also off to bed…this download is taking forever…so I may as well go and lay donw.
Apparently, once I get this service pack I can get Windows Media Player which allows me to use any audio file as a ringtone. I have a bunch of Jim Earl’s song clips from TMMS…..
Lieberman is definitely a good one and so is McCain. Both of them have been particularly bad this year.
Goddamn. Chad Everett’s 70 years old. Shit, as if I didn’t feel old enough already.
70! But Medical Center was on just…….oh wait….
Yeah, watching an episode of “Cold Case” from Sunday that he’s in. Can’t believe he’s gotten so much older (though he doesn’t look bad at all), and I’m still exactly the same. Nine years old.
Good article on Saint Rudy (at Salon; I think you can just click through the ad, if you’re not a subscriber).
Nothing like lots of free time and a personal trainer.
And money. Money is key.
How can someone named “Chad” be 70 years old?
Anyone hear Brittle Hume “interview” Bush today? It sounded like he was instructing My Fair Lady how to say ‘The Rain in Spain Falls Mainly in the Plain’.
But then again, a 9 year-old “PJ” sounds about right.
Man, you set me up for that one.
Now my man Lloyd Bridges always looked good, SCUBA diving and clean living. Well I got one of those anyway.
Hah. But nobody in “real” life calls me PJ. Well, except maybe my sister, once upon a time.
So if we ever have a meetup we’ll have to call you Patrick?
Lloyd picked a bad day to stop drinking. It did wonders for his longevity though.
PJ if you see this please delete me again, when you have time.. You deleted me when I was #2  and it did not record (User Error. 😮 ) Maybe a third time is a charm. One recording out of many record, but one never knows when. I feel, as in “Princes Bride” when “the albino” first speaks, after being silent for so long. :sigh:
The errors were especially glaring with the shaking so bad I could hardly control me. I felt like I was out of breath. I can talk about the issues, but I do not do well when it is about me. Now sadly add the beating so loud of my heart, I am surprised it did not record, add the stuttering, tto shedding a tear at the stupidity of all this Trauma as my throat closed further and wanted to “choke”. My throat called for me to clear it, but I was on the AIR and I just could not swallow. All culminates to DELETE ME please, if you can. Perhaps, after I sulk and lick my wounds a bit, I will leave a decent recording.
Word is out that Jerry Springer hinted that he was quitting on his radio show this morning. I didn’t hear it myself…
Looks like Jerry picked the right week to stop sniffin’ glue.
Course “You know, three-fifths of the world is covered by the sea, and how little most of us know about that underwater world. Go below with us again next week, huh, for another thrilling adventure in Sea Hunt.”
Druid, I thought you sounded fine and it was nice to hear your voice. I know you did a much much better job than I could have done. At least you got the thing to work, for which you get the “tech tamer” award.
Sumptin’s up. Malloy stopped playing AAR News at the top and bottom of the hour.
Did Maron ever have Neil Hamburger on his show?

Shades of Bobby Bittman and Tony Clifton in the embarassment category. Doesn’t come close to Skip Bittman though.

I wonder if SCTV is on the DVD?
I have one of the SCTV DVD boxed sets. I’ve been loaning it out and haven’t gotten a chance to watch any of it yet though.
I gave it to my boss and he loved the Fantasy Island sketch where Candy plays the little guy Tattoo humping a Stradivarius violin.
Hey Boththth, da plane
hey…fixed my network…again! Service pack 2 knocked all my settings to hell…but I fixed it….yay!
Colbert is great tonight….really great! he is on such a roll.
Nite everyone…
Congrats Melina, well I’m off to bed.
James Kim of CNET still missing…but they finally found his wife and 2 little daughters…. Lost on a snowy road in Ore. over thanksgiving…he set out on foot 2 days ago to get help and they are now tracking him….Hope they find him soon…
nite Andy…I should be asleep too….
Hey Melina and the MS blog –
Has anyone been able to download anything from the AirAmerica site. I just tried the site and there was nothing.
Oh, and thanks for taking the time to listen to my podcast. Very cool of you to do.
And keep those “What a Weinie” award nominations for the year coming.
:sammy:
Is this finally the death of AAR? Website has been down for hours- local affiliate in Denver off the air (though still streaming) 😮
Maybe last rites are in order :pope:
