Wednesday again? Well, Wednesday’s still suck, but at least I don;t have to leave the house. Been spending pretty much all my time in the chair trying to get this crap finished up, so I really haven’t had a chance to look at much of anything else. Plus, my back is killing me. I can’t wait to get this over with. I have until midnight to finish up the second of three things, and then until 4:00 Sunday afternoon to finish the last one, which I can’t even think about until I get this one over with. See ya.

Americans think U.S. losing war in Iraq
Most support Iraq Study Groupโs ideas, poll shows
Most Americans think the United States is losing the war in Iraq and support a bipartisan commission’s key proposals to change course, according to a poll released yesterday. But the Iraq Study Group’s report has become a political orphan in Washington with little backing from either party.

Earlier ruling would have continued house arrest for ex-Enron CEO
HOUSTON – A federal appellate court denied former Enron Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Skillingโs request to remain free during his appeal Tuesday and ordered him imprisoned immediately.
Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals wrote in his two-page order that โSkilling raises no substantial question that is likely to result in the reversal of his convictions on all of the charged counts.โ
As a result, Higginbotham denied Skillingโs request for bail pending his appeal and vacated an earlier order staying his prison report date.

Not to worry. During the 2004 campaign, he usually couldn’t afford to fly anything ritzier than business class. Which keeps him in touch with the proletariat, if nothing else.
Plus he gets through security fast, because he’s short and it doesn’t take long for the guard to wand him.
:rofl2:
Did any of the MSM cover his candidacy announcement last night? I was flipping channels between ABC, NBC and CBS and didn’t hear any of them mention it, although in the process of channel-surfing I might have missed it. PBS was on it, a full 30 seconds of coverage but at least they handled it. All hail Jim Lehrer.

PJ…for christmas you need a really good chair…..maybe we sould all chip in and get you a great office chair!
How are you, Melina? :parrot:s helping around the house – ๐ probably about as much as my cats and pup :pup:
AIV
Actually, I have a pretty good chair. It’s just tough when I have to spend 16 hours a day in it. Plus, I like to sleep on my side, but that apparently twists my spine. Had it really bad on one side, and it switched to the other, and hurt so bad for a few days that I could barely breathe. I was starting to think I had a kidney stone or a kidney infection or something. But I’ve been forcing myself to sleep flat on my back, and I seem to be improving, for now.
Here’s typical government in action. I have to go to DC for a few days in January (really not into it, but whattya gonna do?). The shindig is at the Mayflower Hotel (maybe I can hook up with Pickles Bush, if she’s still living there), and they will pay for airfare (which is something like $500 or more), but they won’t reimburse me the $30 a day to park, if I drive (though they’ll give me mileage). I’m just not into the whole flight trauma thing this time around. Assuming everything’s on time, it’s a good four or five hours to fly (an hour of air time, and the rest sitting and waiting or riding the metro), and it takes about 6 or 7 hours to drive in the comfort of my own vehicle, listening to my own tunes, and accompanied by Jill, the sultry Australian GPS voice. I mean, it’s a no-brainer. And right now, no brain is what I’ve got.
ay ay ay…..here I go again….
I need some sleep….but Im almost gonna be done with christmas for the teachers etc….and still a bit more to do for Ben’s family and Will…but at least its in hand.
Oh, and it has nothign to do with “cool” or whatever….

this thing makes a great gift…also the scooba….but scooba requires setup and cleanout every use….
I’ve got the ball thing too. Also pilates has saved me …its much more about strengthening those core musvcles that support your back…and stretching.
its great for men, pj….you should rent a tape and see if you like it. you must stretch anyway
breaking news…circumcision reduces aids transmission.

Melina, that’s what I had wanted to kinda “debate”, yet nothing here to really debate. ๐ . I was told that Pilates was a blend (brew) of both: Yoga and Dance. Both I have done most my life. I have seen Pilates. Overall I recommend. But in almost every certain movement it is a blend of one or another or both. In different forms of Dance one can see Yoga. Before on dance session there was the floor exercise which is darn near Pure Yoga. Then with Jazz Dance and Jazz Stretch and certain Ballet. All equals Pilates — A MOST IMPORTANT BLEND:!: :yippee: — which is a form of what I do both.
(I speak best what I have to constantly {re}learn.)
Druid, I couldn’t do Pilates from a tape – the floor kind. It was too hard on the joints and neck. I did original Pilates on the reformer for about four years and really loved it. After the heart surgery, yoga seemed more gentle so I practice Iyenkar Yoga.

The last congressional race in the midterm elections went Tuesday night as so many others did over the past five weeks, with a Democrat ousting a Republican from office.
Ciro Rodriguez handily defeated Rep. Henry Bonilla (R) in a runoff election in Texas’s 23rd Congressional District, the 36th congressional seat this year that switched from Republican to Democratic hands.
With 95 percent of precincts reporting, Rodriguez had 55 percent of the vote. Bonilla, who was seeking an eighth term, drew 45 percent.
Rodriguez’s victory means Democrats will hold a 233-202 advantage in the House.

Did Marty Feldman Die?
Hey everyone,
So I’ve met with a little success today in that my podcasts will now be listed in the iTunes store. The email from Apple says my podcasts should appear in the store in the next few hours. I’m hoping the exposure will also steer people to the blog. I’ll be moving all my podcasts to a new page. Go here to view the new podcast page. It’ll take a little time to move all podcasts to the new page. The old page will become the placeholder for my live shows. N e way I’m excited about being listed in the iTunes store and hope to gain more listerners.
In other news: I was not able to retrieve the audio from Sean’s visit! ๐ฅ Maybe someday Sean will pay me another visit. Hope! Sean is a really nice guy.
I am disturbed to read posts from Travis yesterday implying he is leaving the blog. I hope I am mis-reading his post. Travis I like having you here. I hope you’ll stay. I know that I’d miss you and I think I’m speaking for all of us here.
Melina, So nice to hear you’re better. So you have a nice tan huh! Cool. Hope you and Will enjoy the trip. Take pix! Hope to hear from you here soon.
To everyone here: MUCH
ALSO, I guess I should go ahead and confess to going in debt a little more. Yesterday I ordered a Canon HV-10 High Definition Camcorder. I’ve been doing a lot of research online of late and came to the conclusion based on many reviews that the Canon HD Camcorder would serve me best. Canon had a sample video that blew me away. Go here to view a sample shot in High Definition with the Canon HV-10. So I plan on doing some Video Casts in the future. The camera has already shipped from Macmall. I hope to get it before the weekend.
I see PJ has removed the message center. Prolly better off without it. It seems to have only compromised the performance of the blog. I can now connect here through Safari once again! Hate to loose the audio clips! I’ll miss your audio clips Andy! Man you must start podcasting soon. I’m working on a How-to podcast page. Should have something up before long. I procrastinate more than I perform magic. Later
Marty Feldman? Been dead since 1982, I think.
Taking? I take nothing stronger than aspirin, and try to take nothing at all, as much as possible. Well, OK, I regularly dose myself with wine, but that’s more recreational than medicinal. In fact, it’s a bit anti-medicinal.
Yeah, I took away the message thing. When I get a chance, I’ll put it up again on its own page, but it was one of the big problems with things loading.
Haven’t really seen the blog much, except for some quick scans through, so I missed whatever it was that Travis wrote. I hope all will be well.

Sen. Johnson suffers possible stroke
WASHINGTON – Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson (news, bio, voting record) of South Dakota suffered a possible stroke Wednesday and was taken to a Washington hospital, weeks before his party was to take control of the Senate by a one-vote margin.
Democrats won a 51-49 majority in the November election. South Dakota’s governor, who would appoint any temporary replacement, is a Republican.
Johnson, who will 60 on Dec. 28, became disoriented during a conference call with reporters at midday Wednesday, stuttering in response to a question. He appeared to recover and asked if there were any additional questions, then ended the call.

Hi everyone. Sorry to hear about Peter Boyle, his dad used to do a kid show in the morning here back in the fifties.
Here’s a little (potential) good news!
Tomorrow on http://1360klsd.com/main.html Stacy Taylor Show, 6-9am, Marc is going to appear. Even better, Stacy is subbing for Randi next week and said Marc is filling in for him!:cat:
Really???…Wow…is it possible to get that podcast into itunes?….Ill have to see…..So I guess that when I get to Cancun I adjust the clock in my computer…then I set the podcasts for 5-8 at that link and then 8-11……thats a real marathon!!
I think that marc is positioned to take over the airwaves! he is so good….Makes Danny G look like a really bad talent picker!!…really bad….
I thought Marc was subbing for Seder next week.
here is the url for the podcast and stream page.…they list each hour separately but it seems to be the same address to subscribe in itunes…..not sure what that means, because I keep also only getting hour 1 of Ring of Fire…..
yeah, but Seder is from 9-12…so he probably is gonna do a 6 hour marathon every day….starting at 5AM Cancun time…does that sound right?….
Im gonna try to replay these things and also itunes them….we’ll see…my replay has been shutting down on this laptop.
I have to figure out my computer situation….
Melina, if Marc is broadcasting from LA, 6-9 PST is 9-12 EST. Maybe it’s a simulcast?
