To those who asked yesterday about blogging from the car, I got this Treo 700p and I can type with one thumb, in one hand…at stop lights, of course…but I can actually look at it when Im stopped and go on the internet and check mail easily….
I guess I can save little videos and stuff though I havent figured that out…I have a 2 gig card so can also put podcasts there….but I cant plug it into the aux jack in my car like the ipod….
But since I got it I havent looked at my Palm TX much at all.
In the past hour the smell of natural gas has permeated NYC from Battery Park (the tip) to mid town….now theyve shit down the PATH trains and con edison is checking on it….The 911 system is getting thousands of calls….
I was, luckily, able to catch Mom as she drove towards the train to turn her back till we know exactly whats gonna happen as far as the trains and the city blowing up or people getting sick…
Hopefully its just a smell from NJ or something, but who knows? Most of the boroughs work on natural gas lines and they are very old…and its not as if someone couldnt mess them up very easily….
they are evacuating people from midtown office buildings…though it seems ot be coming from the Village, aorund 4th St and Bleeker….
they say that the wind is blowing it uptown…but then they were just saying that its from Jersey….and Jersey is denying it…
A woman on the phone on the local news says that at 8:45 the fumes in midtown were so strong that people were getting light headed and that it was horrible….
People were very nervous….and this one woman turned around and got on the bus to go back to NJ….and she says that its much better in Jersey and horrible in the city….
Could one leak do all of that?
23rd st subway evacuated…funny man caller from midtowan who is walking towards the village now to check out where they say its coming from made a mention of how it could be just the sewage smels from Jersey….which I thought of, but it seems a little crazy that it could be that bad so suddenly…
Jersey Con Ed says that their gas is working perfectly….
The spokeswoman says that if you smell natural gas you should go outside, not use any electrical appliances or cell phones, and leave the area…..

Farm news: the tornadoes did some horrible damage just a mile away. We’ve been helping a 60 year old widow we know evacuate her goats. Gigi the herding dog helped. We have all the goats moved and off her property and safe now. We moved them to my neighbor’s barn. The widow lives in a mobile home which, miraculously survived and she’s ok. Two barns and the goat house and all the trees around her property were destroyed. He pump house flattened and the well tank up rooted. Huge oaks knocked over, one house was blown apart from the pressure, numerous houses suffered sever damage. Pines look like toothpicks. This wasn’t even a bad tornado as far as tornadoes go. Man. :gate:

So, haven’t thought about this in quite some time and I’m not sure what it means, but Rodney Dangerfield & I graduated from the same High School — yay — I think … ? … Richmond Hill HIgh School ( http://www.newsday.com/about/ny-ihiny030105story,0,1946412.htmlstory ) but I graduated in 1966 and he graduated in 1939. He had a really sad life — but who the hell didn’t??? Glad he was able to verbalize some universal issues
What always bothered me about growing up in the 1950s & 1960s was that everyone else’s life was always so happy & everyone else’s parents were oh so wonderful and I had absolutely no feeling of connection with mine because they were always fighting and I was just in the way. It’s a much repeated story. So, I graduated from the same high school as Jacob Cohen 27 years later and there STILL was no respect!
