Talking pointsmemo [Josh Marshall] reports that our good buddies The Saudis might now be arming the Sunni insurgents, and the new weapons are what shot down the copters this week and killed our soldiers. Thanks Bandar Bush! The Prince is always welcome here in Kennebunkport, right Mother?
This should be, in a time of relative sanity, game set and match for the Iraq adventure, but we aren’t in such a time.No one is discredited, no one resigns in disgrace, no one is held responsible and punished. You can beam me back to the 19th century now, please. :sammy:
Farmerkat, did you immediately turn upsidedown with paper towels under top of keyboard, then after I would shake out a bit then take strips of papertowel between the lines of keys. [works better than Q-Tips]
Funny I thought of Sue P also and her computer

Oh dear, Farmerkat, I thought that I had made it clear that computers do NOT like water (or coffee). I hope yours engages in a quick recovery.
My computer continues to reside at HP, waiting for a new mother board which is set to arrive on Feb 16, so they say.
All 18 endangered young whooping cranes that were led south from Wisconsin last fall as part of a project to create a second migratory flock of the birds were killed in storms in Florida, a spokesman said.
The cranes were being kept in an enclosure at the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge near Crystal River, Fla., when violent storms moved in Thursday night, said Joe Duff, co-founder of Operation Migration, the organization coordinating the project.
“The birds were checked in late afternoon the day before, and they were fine,” he said Friday.
The area of the enclosure was unreachable by workers at night, and all the birds were found dead, Duff said. He speculated that a strong storm surge drew the tide in and overwhelmed the birds. The official cause of the deaths was not immediately known, but he said it may have been drowning.

The DNC annual meeting is on C-span if you have a desire to throw up ..
so far its been
$$$$$$$ .. something else $$$$$$$ something else … pat self of back for $$$$$$…. pat self on back some more for $$$$$ :yuck: :yuck: :barf: :barf: :crap:
Maybe Apple makes their laptops more user accident tolerant .. that would be a good selling point .. but .. they wouldn’t sell as many that way .. ๐ฎ :crap: ๐ฏ
I briefly listened to a discussion on CSPAN about global warming. A woman called who said she had learned about critical thinking in elementary school and applied it thus:
Most of the earth is water, therefore people live on a small percent of the globe and occupying such a small part of the earth thus have too small an influence to cause warming. Besides, said she, there is a god and he promised to take care of the planet and is the only entity that can do so.
I turned off the TV.
Sue P re 12 and All 18 endangered young whooping cranes ๐
:joe: cheers Fred re gee thanks :barf: c-ya there
:tommygun: :reaper: :dancers: [wvmc3d :rofl2: ]
I listened to that global warning discussion for a while too .. C-span is about as fair and balanced as FAUX is except they don’t have commentary just a preponderance of fringey Reich wing guests :yuck: :crap: :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid:
Well Biden goes to the recycle bin ..
No one tells or wants to tell the truth about Iraq .. everyone is just saying if slightly different ways that we must get those insurgents off the top of “our” oil

Good morning, y’all.
Drive by cut and paste. I don’t think there are any Indy MSists so Geaux, Bears!
Have fun. Gotta cut and run.
Bush’s levee budget upsets Vitter
Not that I have much sympathy for Vitter or Landrieu for swimming too much in the pond with the scum…
WASHINGTON — President Bush is expected to shift $1.3 billion away from raising and armoring levees, installing floodgates and building permanent pumping in Southeast Louisiana in order to plug long-anticipated financial shortfalls in other hurricane-protection projects, a move Sen. David Vitter describes as a retreat from the president’s commitment to protect the whole New Orleans area.
I guess Richardson does not include the Navajo as part of the population of his state . They represent about 40% of the people there and are generally living well below the poverty level ..with extremely high unemployment .. Yet Bill says they have low unemployment and great job growth ..BILL LIES :rant1: :rant1: :rant1:
How does one perform a sanity check on these people or better yet get them to perform one on themselves . :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
good morning….I need all of my good luck charms today to make me not have to drive down to the city to see Hi…
He fell yesterday afternoon and it appears that hes got a horrible cough.
Now not answering his phone but the porter is going to check on him.
Uh oh, no postings by Farmerkat. I hope her computer is OK.
Who in the world is Mike Gravel ?? He speaks the truth to power .. Looks like the audience is getting up to go to the bathroom .. He must listen to Randi Rhodes .. :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
Woooo …. This Gravel guy is good… I hope he doesn’t fly on private planes very often .. ๐ฎ ๐ฏ

well, she did say spit and not spill…so hopefully not. I think that we have to find a place to buy those plastic keyboard covers…I hate them but….or justkeep an extra keyboard or two around. Even for a laptop theyre pretty easy to change…in a PC laptop anyway
Iraqi forces are arriving in Baghdad for a new effort to get a grip on the violence plaguing their capital but probably not in sufficient strength, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said yesterday
http://tinyurl.com/38rp3e
is he on aar fred?
Most laptops don’t like you to put keyboard covers on them. The convection through the top of the computer provides part of the CPU and motherboard cooling.. thats part of the reason they go to standby if you close the lid ..
No there is a DNC winter meeting on C-span .. All the candidates for 2008 will speak .. so far it has been Biden , Richardson and Gravel ..
To the Iraqi people anyone who fights along side of the Americans would appear to be their enemy .. The same thing happened in Vietnam ..in fact the same thing happened in France ( substitute Nazi for Americans in this case) during WWII. Once we leave they may find cause to work out the problems
ah…sorry Im not watching…is it on cspan?
Even Biden seems tohave been good. They only cover the top guys on the news…
Kat? Ar eyou out there? Huge bomb in Baghdad this AM in the market…Im wonderign how Mr FK is holding up…sounds very stressful there…is he back or still stateside?
on CSPAN bush is speaking…but he wont allow questions ot be televised
How could he think that ultimately Iraq will be out ally in anything after this is over…

Really? How much coffee? These things are usually pretty tolerant if you don’t drown them too much. Especially if it’s not some goopy, syrupy, sugary stuff.
From another message board…
Re: Danny Goldberg to manage The Hives [Re: Pure Energy]
I love how Danny always takes credit for managing Nirvana. John Silva managed Nirvana…
Quote:
From the company’s myspace page:
Before that Goldberg ran several record companies including… Warner Brothers Records…
Oh, that always makes me laugh when I see it on Goldberg’s resume. Even more than the Nirvana bit.
Nirvana: Discovered by the guys at Subpop, produced by Butch Vig, brought to Geffen by Thurston Moore, managed by Silva.
Fuck Gersh and Goldberg.
fred! PJ can we hook this up to the blog? :knit:

Well, I guess we’ll never hear from THEM again. As if that band’s career wasn’t already in the toilet.
:rofl2:
Another double-feature day today: The Last King of Scotland followed by Babel. (Took me long enough to get around to that one, I know.)
I’m shooting for Volver tomorrow if I can crawl out of bed on time. Penelope Cruz will hopefully be motivation enough. :boobs: :hubba:
Evening all!
Let me know how Babel is Kevin. I was gonna go see notes on a scandal but fell asleep. Now am watching Sherry Baby on DVD.
Hey Andy!!
So tired today….
Hey!
I’m watching Sherrybaby right now!!!
EEEKS! :omg:
So, as I was coming home from my home buying class, I was coming up on a car with an Air America bumper sticker. We were at a light so we said hi and introduced ourselves. He’s Ryan from Tempe, I’ve heard him call in plenty. Then he called Air America and had the host make a dedication to me on the air. ๐ณ ๐
oh boy…. I always tell my mom, SueP, you have to talk to your computer NOT feed it.
Farmerkat, hope your machine gets better soon.
Question for all you smart folk. Do you think the Draft is going to be brought back?
I don’t think the draft will come back. I think they’ll just start to shang hai people. ๐ฏ
They might figure that inciting a war with Iran will wreak so much havoc that people will start volunteering in mass numbers. I mean, after all the suicide bombings start happening here in the
FatherlandHomeland.Mmm, Bushlogik :fustrate:
Hey Melina!
I disagree PJ, after the suitcase nukes start getting detonated in all of our major cities, the nation will collapse into civil war.
This is why I build my own.
well I was watching sherry baby until shit hit fan again and now I am again in city at mt sinai hosp emergency rm….wonderful….
wish me luck.
Good luck Melina. ๐ Hope Hi is okay. My landlords’ dad went into the emergency room the other day because he was neglecting his diabetes medicine. I need to have a talk with my brother about our parents.
Melina what happened?!
 Goodnight all, I hope things work out Melina.
Google must be trying to figure out why the hell it paid $1.65 billion for these kinds of headaches. Very shortsighted of Viacom and these other copyright holders, IMHO.
Melina, I hope everything works out OK. Let us know, when you can.
well its pneumonia and they’re keeping him for 3 to 5 days….so I got him in a room in the medicine dept and will hopefully move him to geriatric dept tomorrow….
he fell yesterday and then this mild cold turned bad….its common at this age. There is just no upside except that he is so tough …but 96 is just pretty old.
I just pulled in to my driveway and am gonna sleep and then go back tomorrow.
Melina, So sad you are going through this stress, yet so very happy that you are. I have been sitting here, just staring at the keyboard, remembering my last years with my Grandfather. He was 94years old, fixing the roof of his old 3rd story home overlooking the bay. It was a miracle he didn’t die, but only hurt his hip.
Everyone was so very “bent” that my Grandmother {a Libra} would get angry at the people at “the home” for doing everything for my Grandfather during recovery. She said it was “killing” him. He HAD to walk and move. But that was before the “change of thought”. At 96years he died.
{But In a blink of a eye, a person can die.}
HE DID HOWEVER HAVE A SISTER WHO LIVED TO BE 104years.
Enjoy, as I know you will, each day of life with him.
{my Grandmother died at 86years (just a few years after my Grandfather’s death) since she was without her mate.}
AWEN :om: Blessings.
