Now that I seem capable of remaining conscious for several hours at a time, again, I have time to think about how far behind in everything I am. It’s enough to make me sick.

Remember that Japanese Whaling ship that was going to destroy the penguin habitat in the Antarctic when it sank .. well it didn’t sink ..and in fact is possibly going back onto operation today

The dem reps in Colorado usually have their town hall meetings on week days in the afternoon so that only those who are on their way to or from the post office or their broker with their dividend checks can come . :yuck: :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid:
On the other hand the thugs have their meetings at night at a down town hotel and charge everyone $1000 to come . :yuck: :yuck: :paranoid:

One might say it is beginning to look like We R screwed .. One can’t fix this with an election..
It makes sense though if our corporatist run government can kill a half million Iraqis and get away with it whats a few hundred thousand Americans too. :reaper: :reaper:
Someone on the radio this morning said the the Missouri ( rethug) legislature was going to over rule the voter approval of state funding of stem cell research too. Mardi Gras factoid
Mardi Gras parades always end with :fire:
:alc: :40: :bf: :bf: :boobs: :barf:
and yes, tomorrow is Ash :bong: Wednesday :priest: :pope: :reaper:
Oh man….
I have to think of something to do today to regret tomorrow for Ash Wednesday.
Usually all my regret takes place tomorrow when I try to wipe off the shmutz on people’s foreheads – “Hey! Ya got a little something right there!” Followed by licking my thumb like my mother used to when I was a kid because saliva gains a disinfectant like quality when it hits our thumb.
After that I usually tell the person how I have given up something I don’t do anyway – so as not to disappoint God.
Oh well – Eat, Drink and Be Merry Everyone!
:sammy:
So Fat Heady uses the words of elected reps with no credibility to give him credibility ..makes sense in the rethug kind of way :reaper: :reaper:
Just like that Homeland security committee meeting where the dem committee chair brought up the Tony the lap dog Blair admins several times debunked airline bombing plot as an example of the need for more homeland secuity no less than 20 times. :yuck: :paranoid:

wvmc3d doesn’t the party continues until MIDNIGHT?
Mwah HaHa a.i.v.
All right, so I ran the computer in safe mode and did the spybot and ad-aware scans, but the computer is still on the fritz. I keep getting svchost.exe Application Error and Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services has encountered a problem.
I also looked at the Windows Task Manager to try and identify Trojans or Malware, but I couldn’t find out for certain if the processes I was about to end were actually something my computer needed. Plus, there’s like over fifty processes going on. :billcat:
Are there any other avenues I can take?
I had to do something similar the other day… Good Luck.
I was only able to do since someone had to to tell me what to
do ………. a.i.v.
Hey Travis did you try running checkdisk on it ?? Maybe you have a bad block in the swap file
Goto My Computer then right click on the C: disk then select properties and then the tools tab and select check now under error checking , check both check boxes click start then choose to check the disk on restart. Restart the computer .and go get dinner.
woo!
happy Mardi Gras/ Fat Tuesday/ Carnaval!
:boobs:  :barf: :40:
I just tried to do that scan and the computer froze. I’ll try and do it again. Thanks, Fred.
Grr! This is extremely upsetting and frustrating ๐ก
Travis.. when did the computer freeze ?? sometimes while it is checking the disk it gets really slow at updating the screen especially if it finds errors to fix , ๐ฎ
oh, it was right before the computer was about to restart. Maybe I goofed up, but it didn’t seem right for some reason
Are there any other avenues I can take?
Switch to Mac?
Gung Hay Fat Tuesday, Y’all!
travis, did it freeze or could it have been going through the process? Sometimes it is not all that apparent that something is happening. I have a tendency to fill up my memory and that slows it down so that I have to archive and delete until I have enough space to run the scan and defrag.
Did you make a note of what processes were using the most memory or spiking?
Travis,
See if you can copy all of the text in task manager – the running process – and post it here so I can see what’s running. More than 50 processes is way too many unles you have copious amounts of RAM.
Scrap that it won’t copy the text- expand the task manager window so all the contents are visible the use ALT+PRINT SCREEN to copy the active window, paste it into an image editor save as bmp or jpeg and email it to me:
awforrestatphoenix-systems1.com
Travis, do this:
Go to start>run, type in
CMD
and then hit enter. At the command prompt, type in
C:
and then hit enterThen type in
cd /
and then hit enter(this is just to make sure you’re at the root of your C: drive)
Next, type this in:
tasklist /svc >"c:tasklist.txt"
This should give you a text file of the processes running, which will be in the root of yout C: drive (change the location if you want it elsewhere). Just go to your C: drive, and sort by last modified to find it.
You can actually just do the last part wherever your command prompt happens to open, but it’s easier to get to a place where it’s easy to find.
BTW, if it’s easier, open up notepad, and paste the following lines in, just as they are below:
c:
cd\
tasklist /svc >"c:\tasks\tasklist.txt"
Then do file, save as, and save it as tasks.txt on your desktop. Go to the file, and change the name from tasks.txt to tasks.bat (you can skip this step if, when you save it, you just name it tasks.bat – but you have to tell it to save it as type “all files” or it will save it as taskt.bat.txt).
Then you can just doubleclick it to run it whenever you want (make sure to create the folder C:\tasks first, though).
I would have to agree having made the switch myself. I feel bad for ya Trav, I was going through almost the same thing when my laptop died about 6 months ago. That reminds me, I still need to send it in to see if it’s fixable.
Good luck!
Not sure that “buy a new computer” is particularly helpful, though.
PJ,re 50 … I like it when ya talk like that :hubba:
