It’s Friday, ya bastids. Don’t forget, snowbirds, if you’re out there in the Aspen area, you have all kinds of chances to see Marc Maron at the Comedy Festival, through Saturday. In April, the East Coasters get a chance at him, as he’ll be appearing in NYC’s Grammercy Theater with Henry Rollins and Janeane Garofalo. Later in April, you Cincinnati folks get a shot, as Marc’ll be at Bananas in Montgomery Ohio, before the Maron, Rollins, and Garofalo tour heads to LA.
No shows in Central New York, I’m afraid, so I’ll just have to content myself with Sedition Radio, which should be moving to its new home some time today (just need to put the finishing touches on the new box I built for it). Then I can sit back and watch the snow, sleet and rain fall.
Damnit, just listened to an mp3 of the first “Pendejo” and got all depressed again. This sucks. Bring back Maron now!
Who do we impeach for this? :sammy:
Thanks, everybody, for all the suggestions. I knew I could count on all of you to tell me where to go. ๐
I kinda like New Orleans. Granted, it has become George Bush’s armpit since Katrina, but you can’t beat the music and the collective attitude of the people who are fighting back against the bullshit would be nurturing, I think.
An opportunity arose here out of the ashes. I had an unexpected interview yesterday that may result in something positive, as in more money for less work. We’ll see how it goes… I probably won’t hear anything until the middle of next week at least.
If that makes me a whore, leave the twenty on the dresser.
I was somewhat gratified reading letters to the editor yesterday concerning the Largo city manager planning gender reassignment. All but one of the published letters were mesaages of OUTRAGE against the christo-fascists who want him fired. What do you know, intelligent life exists here.
Or maybe the right-wingers were too busy dragging their knuckles on the ground to write.
:rofl2:
Hey Krista, pool party at your place when you move in. Right?
:alc:
Only 20?!!
Oh yeah! :yippee: Pool Party at my new pad.
Last week was the Lunar new year. Friday, however, was not part of it, but we (as a country) took it off. Tomorrow, Saturday, we will work last Friday.
Can you think of a dummer idea?
Morning/Evening :yinyang:
Good morning! Happy lease signing day, Krista.
It’s pouring here. The dogs can’t wait to go out so they can get all smelly and wet.
Krista, are you going to post some photos of the new place?
Thanks for reminding me to bring my camera, Andy. I’ll post some pics this evening.
ok if everything goes as planned i will be in phoenix from the 20th to the 27th……
um the boobies site had THIS about glenn beck apparently his wife hasnt been blowing him enough……
King Kong, is the NYC Bd of Ed somehow involved in this decision? It sound so much like them.
Cool!
Two of the world’s leading oil producers have almost overnight joined some of the biggest players in wind power in the United States, accelerating a trend of large corporations investing in the rapidly growing alternative-energy field.
As global warming and clean fuels have gained more attention, Shell Oil Co. and BP have accumulated impressive credentials. Shell is one of the nation’s top five generators of wind power, while BP’s Alternative Energy group — launched 16 months ago — aims to develop projects that produce 550 megawatts of electricity this year, one-sixth of the projected US wind energy output in 2007.

The Agriculture Department has given a preliminary green light for the first commercial production of a food crop engineered to contain human genes, reigniting fears that biomedically potent substances in high-tech plants could escape and turn up in other foods.
The plan, confirmed yesterday by the California biotechnology company leading the effort, calls for large-scale cultivation in Kansas of rice that produces human immune system proteins in its seeds.
The proteins are to be extracted for use as an anti-diarrhea medicine and might be added to health foods such as yogurt and granola bars.

Whatever :sheep: le
Damn the selfish Marc Maron for letting his real career get in the way of being a substitute (leave a 20 on the dresser) host today in Sam Seder’s absence. It could have been an Air America four or five or six-peat.
Seriously, AAR needs to make something happen fast. I am just not listening anymore to it or faux AAR programs like Miller, Schitz, Press, etc.. I hope someone is looking back at the original model and tries to restore at least some of it. Obviously Franken and Janeane are gone. But at least one ‘local’ hero could come back as well as the way those charter shows were constructed. They were informative and entertaining and wide ranging. Tasty and nutritious. Just like Ovaltine!
We need another crumb of hope from Marc. ๐
It’s all we are asking for. And a Marc Maron pool party.
Did somebody bring a cat in here? ๐
or a ficus? :billcat:
Jim Earl and Bruce Cherry in speedos. Talk about shameful and ignominious.
Bruce Cherry :rofl2:
There will be a lunar eclipse visibles in the US. National geographic has times for observation.

Oh, man, I gotta get out to SF to take a walking tour with him. Better leave my wife home, though. He looks just like her type (except for the lack of a beard).
Hey, wait a minute….
HeyZeus, blue!,
You think I should go out on a 3 hour pitch? Sounds like Bruce Cherry’s Island to me. Except for the resume, it almost sounds like me.
Maybe I can be his understudy. I could probably do that hair in a few months
Hey !
it is cnick’s birthday :cake: or so itunes tells me… :dancers:
I’d call him but he disappeared from my skype list ๐
Well, Sedition Radio is all settled in to its new home, with backup hardware all set and ready to go, in the event of trouble. Hopefully that’s the last I’ll have to mess with it for a while.
Do you want to buy a sponsorship for the Marc Maron Pool Party?
Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s much chance of my getting out to Phoenix anytime soon. Hopefully there’ll be pictures and videos.
Kp has gone Apple. I am sure we can stream SR there anyway, gratis. I may have to check with Jobs on that. We might need a logo.
Oh, yeah, it streams on iTunes, among other things (there are better apps, but Mac people seem to like to stick with what Apple gives them). One of these days, I’ll have to make a nice, pretty front-end web page for it.
You beat my edit.
Th such Daily Mail has published a series of computer generated maps which show the size of the nations with respect to various perameters such as wealth, aids cases and alcohol consumption.

Ever wonder how Bush stays so upbeat, fresh and perky? A man who delivers catastrophic failure on an unprecedented scale, to a world which until recently only rewarded success. How does he not open his morning paper and immediately slit his own throat, you might ask.
Well it’s great drugs, of course.
Buy some today!
A message from your FDA. :sammy:
Damn, I go away to heal (knee again. I think I need to sue my knees) and I come back and think I’m seeing Dumbya in a deoderant commercial.
And now I have to go again. But I’ll be back. This blog will NEVER be rid of me. Bwah hahahahaha!
:nana:
Gypsy raises a valid point.
After Bush is out of office, what commercial products will he shill for? Chewing tobacco? Chain saws? Hemorroid ointments? Security fences? Will he appear on Sat. Night Live? We should start worrying about these things right now. :sammy:
Well, he’s a pretty avid reader, you know. So I reckon he’ll probably content himself with reading all the great French existentialists, and then probably delve back to the existentialist origins, by reading Kierkegaard and Nietzsche, and then perhaps Heidegger and even Brentano and Husserl. Of course, being multi-faceted, he may also explore cinema, such as Ingmar Bergman.
Then I expect he’ll want to to look at other sides, no doubt reading Marcuse, Adorno, Scruton, Carnap, Ayer, and Kant.
Oh, and he’ll prob’ly do some fishun’ and some golfin’, too.
And don’t forget those Spiderman comics he hasn’t had time to peruse.
What’s been getting to me this week is the guys on The Money Channel (the one that tracks the stock market all day.) They can’t imagine that there are any financial problems. Hillary said that the debt we owe to foreign nations is a problem and these guys say not only isn’t it a problem but it’s great for the economy. In fact there are only 2 things can hurt the American economy: taxes on wealth and greedy labors who want a living wage.

Lately there’s been much provocation for me to throw something at the TV.
