It’s supposed to be another beautiful day here today. Mostly sunny, and 52 degrees or so. If you live someplace where it’s sunny and warm all the time. you really just can’t appreciate how nice that is. Especially when you’re out walking around on a couple of feet of packed snow (remind me to thank whoever was out at the park on the snowmobile, and packed down a nice path for us; we got to walk our usual full route yesterday for the first time in ages, and the dog was pretty darn pooped out last night). Odds are, it’ll get cold again (and I’m sure we’ll get some more snow), but for now, I’m gonna enjoy this while I can.

That’s what SHE said!! :hubba:
I suppose I should comment on the Kucinich thing. The bloom is beginning to fall off that particular rose for me.
In 2004 Dennis stood out (so to speak) as one of the few anti-war candidates. In this race, he’s one of many, and I don’t think he’s doing himself any favors whining because people don’t want to debate him on Fox.
Dude, it’s FOX. It’s a clown show. Choose a more appropriate forum. Fox viewers are going to tune you out as soon as you open your mouth, regardless of what you have to say.
Gestures like this make Kucinich appear small. Make up your own punchlines. 😀

Aw, Gonzo’s not coming.
Looks like Gonzo is holding a presser at 2:00 this afternoon. Hopefully, it’s to announce a federal investigation into the NCAA Basketball Tournament Selection Committee. But, it would have gone over much better here, than in DC.
You know, to me, this Vicacom bullshit is like somebody giving me free advertising, after which, I turn around and sue them. Starting to make that $1.6 billion Google spent buying YouTube look like kind of a bad move.
Tweaking the Fox News Channel, the president of liberal Air America Radio this morning sent a letter to the chairmen of four state Republican parties, offering to host and broadcast the state parties’ upcoming presidential debates.
Agreeing to the debate “would allow Republicans to differentiate themselves from Democrats,†Air America President Mark Green wrote to the Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, and South Carolina Republican chairmen in a deadpan communication provided this morning to The Politico.

Okay, I’m beginning to believe Mark Green really is as smart as he sounds. That’s a really clever publicity stunt. I hope it works out for AAR. I wonder who they would have sent to Nevada had that panned out. Surely not Randi?
Randi would have been good. It would have been the first time at a debate that the questioner got 58 minutes, and the candidates 2.
It would also be the first time the debaters would have to produce actual documentation whenever they spouted a supposed fact.
Of course, it would give me a headache after a while, but it’d be a small price to pay.
so this is why we laugh…hmm.
I think Malloy would be great as the moderator.
Maybe Brendan P.W. McDonald could moderate?
:yippee: or there could be a pap attack!!!

THE LIES THAT LED TO WAR
Since the US-led invasion four years ago, the fifth estate has covered Iraq and the war on terror from virtually every angle–the military, media, intelligence, politics–revealing aspects of the story that you didn’t find anywhere else. Now, as the White House warns about the latest threat in the region, this time from Iran, it’s worthwhile looking back to examine the deception, suspect intelligence, even lies, that convinced the world of the rightness of targeting Saddam Hussein.
Democrats in the U.S. Senate planned to begin debating on Wednesday a resolution to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq, but Republicans made clear they opposed the measure and would try to prevent its passage.
Some Republicans said on Tuesday events in Iraq had convinced them it was better to go ahead and debate President George W. Bush’s war policy than block consideration of Dem

This is from Fox Noise, by way of John Gibson who was ranting about the real reason Dems are upset about the US Atty firings.
I really think they are coming unglued!
vesChuck Schumer and other liberals are calling for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign over his involvement in the proposed firing of eight U.S. attorneys. The United States attorney in a district of the federal justice system is a political appointee who ser at the pleasure of the president.
One day way back, Bill Clinton ordered Janet Reno to fire every United States attorney and she did — all 93 — and the country reacted with a huge yawn. But now Gonzales was to bump eight back to lucrative private practice and the Dems are coming unglued. Why?
No. 1, because it’s a way to kick Bush around. They say they’re upset that one of Gonzales’ deputies who came to testify before Congress didn’t know about the mass firing. But what this is really about is a provision of the Patriot Act they evidently never noticed which allows the attorney general to fire a U.S. attorney, hire another and avoid coming before the Senate for confirmation. Whose fault is that, Mr. and Mrs. Lawmaker?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,258642,00.html
The person who inserted the provision into the PATRIOT Act which allows the Pres. to appoint interim US atty’s without senate confirmation, is a former aide to Rove now working for Specter. Specter says he knew nothing about it. So, obviously the plan to subvert the legislation came from Rove.
I’ll bet that’s impeachable or better yet chargeable.
Mark Green is on Politically Direct, I’m trying to call in and see about bringing Maron back, lines are still busy.
Go get ’em, Andy!

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton on Tuesday described past Republican political malfeasance in New Hampshire as evidence of a “vast, right-wing conspiracy.â€
snip
Clinton asserted on Tuesday that the conspiracy is alive and well, and cited as proof the Election Day 2002 case of phone jamming in New Hampshire, a case in which two Republican operatives pleaded guilty to criminal charges, and a third was convicted.
“To the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s credit, they sued and the trail led all the way to the Republican National Committee,” Clinton said.

Clinton accused the GOP of a number of other anti-voter actions, including intimidating phone calls during the 2006 congressional elections.
New Hampshire Democratic Party chairwoman Kathy Sullivan said she absolutely agreed with the New York senator’s description of the case.
“People think we’re paranoid when we talk about the vast, right-wing conspiracy, but there is a real connection of these groups _ the same names keep popping up,” Sullivan said. “They are the most disgusting group of political thugs that I have ever seen.”
