I kinda thought when the stories came out about Gonzo doing such a shitty job prepping for yesterday’s testimony, it was just one of those “lowering expectation” games. Obviously not. He may be a consummate suck-up, but he sure as hell isn’t any good at thinking on his feet (or on his ass). They obviously told him, “look, just fucking say you don’t recall.” He got that one down, at least. It’ll be interesting to see if the petulant little boy king cuts him loose or not. Big Al would probably be happy to just go home and spend more time with his family at this point, but I don’t think dubya and his boy Rove can afford an honest person in that position – and there’s no more rubber stamp for Senate confirmation anymore.
Otherwise, I need everyone to concentrate and send their energy my way into my winning the lottery (preferably the mega millions tonight, but I’m willing to settle for the NYS lotto drawing tomorrow) so that I can drop out of school. Some would say it would be a shame to get this close and drop out, but I say “balderdash,” and that there’s no better time than right now. I promise to do good things with my winnings, like launching a true progressive radio station that won’t put on some libertarian schmuck in the pursuit of “ratings,” and of course building an earth sheltered home on several hundred acres of land where seditionists are free to hang out. I’ll also buy up all of the melamine in the world, and personally shove it down the throats of the people who decided to add it to pet food.
Well, after several hours … TEA Cheers. :joe: BTW FRED ❗

Good morning all,
Leahy and Specter were on the PBS NewsHour last night. Judy Woodruff tried several times to get Leahy to commit to giving Rove a subpoena. Leahy wouldn’t actually come out for the record and say he would do it, but it sounds like he may be leaning in that direction, presuming the White House does not offer his testimony voluntarily, ha ha.
Gonzo’s voice is almost as annoying to listen to as Bush’s. Hopefully we won’t have to listen to it for much longer. :nana:
Kevin M, Want to Break a Hundred? 😉 PLEASE post one more time in the Omega so it will be 101 ….. 🙄 I have a Binary fetish like my other one :rofl2: 😉
Honestly, I have been handling my fetish so well, then I saw you posting.. :rofl2:
Kevin M, I do not Trust Leahy anymore, sadly! I feel there will be psydo-angry statements, but bush will have the “final” vote. :smack: :fustrate: :barf: :growl: :fist: :pirate:

Some Good News .. By their actions … thus :rofl2: Mwah Ha Ha
CTV.ca News Staff
Neptune’s Rage Ravishes Sealers in Crushing Ice
The news from Newfoundland and the Labrador Front just gets better and
better. Last week, a sealing vessel burnt and sank in Newfoundland, and this
week, more than 100 sealing boats are trapped in heavy ice off the Northeast
coast of Newfoundland. Some 500 to 600 sealers are stranded on the ice.
“Conditions have deteriorated over the last few days as a result of the wind
pressing the ice floes into the land,” Canadian Coast Guard Captain Windross
Banton told CBC television from an icebreaker trying to make its way to the
stranded vessels, which included one from the Coast Guard.
The Sir Wilfred Grenfell, one of Canada’s large icebreakers, is trapped in
the heaviest ice pack conditions in 15 years.
Rescue efforts are being hindered by strong Northeast winds, fog, and heavy
drizzle preventing Coast Guard aircraft from being used.
Some of the boats have been damaged and a few are in danger of sinking. Some
are running out of food and fuel.
Crews have been evacuated from at least 10 of the vessels and 12 of the
vessels have already been observed as extensively damaged.
“The sealers, in their lust to kill seals, have ventured irresponsibly into
ice conditions they were not prepared for,†said Sea Shepherd Founder and
President Captain Paul Watson. “The Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker led them
into a trap, breaking them into ice conditions they would not have been able
to enter on their own. I have to say that this news has brought a smile to
my face today and a hope that the quota of 275,000 seal pups will not be
realized.â€
According to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) about two-thirds
of the quota has been reached. This quota does not take into account the
estimated 250,000 that were killed by diminished ice conditions last month
in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Strong winds are forcing the ice pack against the shore. As the pressure
increases, the ice could crush the hulls of the sealing boats.
“Captains and our crews on our icebreakers, same as the staff in the centre
are working around the clock, 24 hours a day, and we’ve been at it now for
almost two weeks, and these are very difficult conditions for this year,”
said Coast Guard superintendent Brain Penney.
“It would be nice to see a few, if not all of these killing boats crushed in
the ice,†said Captain Watson. “The Canadian Coast Guard is on hand to
rescue the seal-killing thugs should they lose their boats. Each year, the
Canadian taxpayer has to foot the bill to allow the Coast Guard to baby-sit
these baby killers. No expense appears to be too much for Canada to continue
to defend this annual obscenity they call a hunt. You don’t ‘hunt’ seal
pups. They walk up to them and club them to death in their nurseries. I’m
hoping for higher winds and increased ice pressure.â€
:rofl2: 😆 :rofl2:

Great Bumper music 8) on Turks
Not listening to the turks. I’m listening to Goyette this morning. Stephy gets a little repetitive.
Been listening to Stephie the past few days. It’s good background stuff, ‘cuz I don’t feel compelled to pay attention.
BTW, Blue Buffalo and Royal Canin have added products to the recall list, due to melamine. The AVMA has a list of what it knows about here: http://www.avma.org/aa/menufoodsrecall/products.asp
I feed my dog a food called Eagle Pack, I don’t have a bag right now because I had to transfer it to another container because i put a hole in the bag. I get it from a local tack shop. Sweet Jane ate it most of her life and i never had any problems with it. But I rarely feed my animals canned or pouched food. It seems like the intake of this melamine is harmful over time and not if eaten just a few times. Does anyone know about that?
I’m paranoid because Nellie has been limping for the last week and it is reminding me of how Janes’ illness started. I thought maybe she got her foot stepped on as she nips the heels of the guy that lives in the guest house. But there doesn’t seem to be any tender spots when I checked her leg, paw and shoulder and it’s not getting better. And this food recall makes me paranoid too. 😯
So, Phoenix is on the list of places including South Africa and somewhere else to ban the use of petroleum based plastic bags. GOOD! :fist:
NovaM reported that (#16)
Durbin vs. Gonzo
I think the melamine is pretty bad to eat, even for a short time. Seems to be worse for smaller dogs and cats. It’s also in dog treats and some dry food. We’re feeding our dog Canidae, which doesn’t use any glutens or rice protein, and doesn’t import anything from outside the US. It’s human grade, and tastes pretty good. He also gets some Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul (CSFTDLS), which also says it doesn’t use and wheat, wheat gluten or rice protein concentrate (also human grade; haven’t tasted it). The cats seem to like the CSFTCLS cat food, so they’ve been getting that. They were also getting Natural Balance (not the venison), but I think we’ll do w/o that, ‘cuz I don’t trust it now.
The treats I get are from Natures Bounty and use ground brown rice. I think that’s okay.
I know that a lay person such as myself trying to post something about animals here is akin to trying to tell Alberto Gonzales about the Constitution, probably nothing you don’t already know, but this might be of some interest.
Hotdoll
BTW, I saw Iggy & the Stooges last night. Maybe they could use “I Wanna Be Your Dog” in some way.
Did anyone hear the male bumper music that was on previously on Thom’s Show?
and re 21  :rofl2:
About #21 – how far can we take our national obsession with dogs.
I remember when taking the dog for a walk was letting him out and if he came back we tried letting him loose in another neighborhood. Food was a bag of dry crap and if we spilled food we called in the dog.
Now there are sweaters, specialized foods, dog carriers, Paris Hilton and now Hump toys for them.
When did this become us as a nation? Seriously – stop this! Be a man, suck it up and let your dog just hump your leg – or hopefully your neighbor’s leg because that is always funny.
:sammy:
Hey, never mind the dog, Vern. I gotta get one of those for me.
Hopefully KP and others recognize the joke because I do hope her dog gets better – in case there are any progressive utopians with no sense of humor lurking here
:sammy:
wvmc3d, so how was Iggy and the Stooges? and again re 21  :rofl2:
Vermont Senate: Impeach the President
Vermont senators voted Friday to call for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, saying their actions have raised “serious questions of constitutionality.”
The nonbinding resolution was approved 16-9 without debate – all six Republicans in the chamber at the time and three Democrats voted against it.
Hey, does anyone here have Showtime?
I need someone to make me VHS tapes of DEXTER and THE TUDORS Sunday night. DEXTER is on opposite THE SOPRANOS, so I know it’s a lot to ask. But Sopranos is re-run during the week and DEXTER is not.
Our basement family room, where the DVR is, is totally torn up because we had to tear out all the carpet from the rain last week. And Mr. Brilliant doesn’t want to hook up the TV and recording equipment again. I get major brownie points with a highly regarded person at work for recording these shows for her and I’d hate to miss a week. I will pay $$ for the favor.
If you have TiVO or another DVR, you can record it and make the tape later; that would be fine.
Alas, I don’t have Showtime. Is Dexter the show with David, from Six Feet Under, where he’s a bit of a serial killer?
Iggy (I now call him Jim :rofl2: ), was great. He will be 60 tomorrow. He’s got a lot of energy still. He has the great ex-Minuteman Mike Watt playing bass. I was disappointed that he did not do a couple of songs until I remembered they were Iggy Pop and not Stooge :smack:  . Glad I did not exhibit my stupid publiicly. Singing “my idea of fun is killing everyone” was pretty nervy this particular week. The great Jello Biafra was in the house. Jerry Brown was not.
Cheers :bong: w/ T :joe: 😉
A.I.V. :growl: :fist:

americanowviewer…or it could cause a socialist healthcare system system if things swing the other way….my view on the cho thing...among other things, of course :parrot:
Jill, you want it in VHS and not DVD?
I can do it for you….
just tell me which shows…I can dvr 2 at once usually but one is usually the sopranos…and then I can dvr only to dvd 2 other shows, but cant get the sopranos on that TV…I think I get showtime though…is that what Dirt was on?
I actually have shotime on demand so can probably just copy it from that.
Yeah, come to think of it, I can definitley do both in vhs if you want…or dvd…let me know…
Is dexter any good? I havent seen it at all.
vern…I saw Iggy on the street in the Village some years back and he looked SO old, but in that little rock and roll body, like Mick Jagger…but his face was like a pickled version of its old self…he is strange looking anyway.
Maher has this uppity conservative black woman on the panel….
you know, he is one of Henry Rollins heros and according to Janeane , in her act, you should never ask Henry about reptiles or iggy pop and the stooges….he will talk forever…
americanowviewer 42  I agree except with the … wait for it ………the other shoe about to drop……….
President Gore and a full cabinet. Then, We The People throw the rethugs out and put in the TRUE President. I am always “good” for a good debate … :slap: 😉 I read 42 and the blog. Interesting! But why not bring ALL here for good debates? I am tired and impatient with “signing” into more things … however, the blog was fascinating, yet I am more in line with your views than the other woman’s, who was having difficulty with the topics and tone of the conversations.
Although I shoot (and clean the gun), we still would probably not agree … :rofl2: . 😉 ..C-Ya.
ARREST! IMPEACH! then V! … Midnight … Red :hot: C. P.
Gosh, I cannot believe it is ONLY 47 or 48 posts at night :smack:
