So, how did out esteemed Attorney General do yesterday? I started to watch a bit, but the twisted and disgusting Republicans were way too annoying, and it looked like it was just gonna be the same old show one more time. I haven’t had a chance to read the reviews yet, and mostly I guess I’m bored with the whole thing. Maybe that’s their plan – kinda like Muhammad Ali’s rope a dope, in reverse. Just keep being so stupid and incompetent long enough, and everybody will just go watch American Idol and leave you the fuck alone. Personally, I think these desperadoes need to go to prison.
 there it is!
 why desperadoes sound kind of cool to me after that song……
Good morning all. Blankety-blank bus was late today, so just enough time to say hi and bye. That’s what I get for trying to be a little green, I guess.
It’s Friday, ya bastards!

Gonzo, you stay right where you are. Its Rove we want.
Now be perfectly honest: when you got your e mail this morning from Air America announcing their great coup in landing that legendary entertainer Lionel for their new morning show, how many of you sent an obscene “reply” to the computer? I’ll admit it, although I’m not proud of it. At my age; what a shame.
If and when Rachel Maddow is gone, there will be literally nothing on that network that I would want to listen to. Quite an accomplishment, and in so little time! Greenie, a heckova job! :sammy:
Good morning everyone…another morning in paradise…
Gmail rather appropriately labeled it (actually them, as I get three or four of everything they send out) as spam, and tossed them in the spam folder.
American inspectors who arrived in China last week to investigate the two companies that exported tainted pet food ingredients found that the suspect facilities had been hastily closed down and cleaned up, federal officials said yesterday.
“There is nothing to be found. They are essentially shut down and not operating,” said Walter Batts, deputy director of the Food and Drug Administration’s office of international programs.
Word of the American team’s inability to conduct a firsthand inspection came as investigators in this country learned that as many as 198 U.S. fish farms and hatcheries may have received fish feed contaminated with the chemical melamine, which came from the same two Chinese companies.

It so strange….I used to think that these bozos in the administration were, like, lying and gonna go down…now I believe that they are gonna go down and are lying but with some real conviction that they are right and doing the right thing….which is just not logical or true or real. This would be a good time to have janeane garafolo on the radio because there is some amount of serious psychological problem going on here and she is so very good at calling that…but ultimately sometimes the numbness sets in because you go beyond disbelief into …like, is this a joke? and it becomes almost mean to hold them accountable because they are so out of their minds…maybe we need a national neocon mental hospital where we can intern all of these people.
Ive known some very crazy people in my life and have really looked closely at a part of the decision making process involved in just letting yourself fall into the dark side…and though some of them are so egocentric and/or spciopathic as to be unable to make a clear decision abotu what they are doing…I always have held out hope that maybe there would be some realization somewhere along the way and that at some point the ultimate punishment is that moment of realization of being responsible for so many deaths and…whatever….
But now Im starting to feel like wishing that people would REALIZE what they’ve done in life is maybe just so much Pollyanna or…what I might call my naive side….my hopeful part….
How did we come to a place in the world where we are waiting for them to realize and they probably never will…and thats the big disappointment in life….
It makes me sort of wish for cruel and unusual punishment in the face of whats happened to the soldiers who lived but been injured in any way, including psychologically.
I think that anyone who is for this war continuing at all should be made to go over and embed with units on the front lines (wherever that is) for at least a month or two, just to see themselves….no huge body armor beyond what the soldier have, no security…just embed all these old white guys and bloated ladies….
I think that melamine is gonna be found in just about everything. My mother was saying that there is some talk baout most of thevitamins that we take in america being made in china…the C anyway…
it makes no sense, but its probably true.
I had a pretty hilarious time in the pet food store reading every bag and advising them on how they need to label the shelves as to how the protein source lived and what has melamine in it or not…
But Im thinking that alot of this is abotu us enslaving all those workers over there to save a buck…
Good Morning :joe:
If these people have any kind of realization it’ll be on their deathbed when it’s too late. :reaper:
In this life, they’ll die believing they were right, and only tried to do what was necessary. If you believe in a next life or an afterlife, then maybe they’ll come to see the error of their ways then.
Good morning, bloggerini. I have exciting news. I’ll be getting high speed internet beginning the 18th. Sadly, that’s the day before I leave for my Seattle road trip so I won’t be able to take much advantage of it until the following week. But I will take advantage of it.
I’m also downloading a gajillion drivers because nothing I own is compatible with Windows Vista. (Who thought it was a good idea to completely rewrite Windows so nothing, not even a BRAND NEW mp3 player, is compatible with it?)
Was Olberman right and did Gonzo just repeat, on script, what he’s said before. YAWN! I still say he’s a pawn in a vicious Repig game but I wish he’d get a new script writer.
Well, gotta get ready for work now. I’m taking recipe requests, though. Anyone got a hankering for something special? (Did I just say hankering?)
melina:
china is a huge country that has always had a good deal of corruption at the llocal level. we have encouraged this with our exportation of rapacious capitalism under the guise of free trade and democracy.
melamine by itself is probably not very toxic in small amounts but, since there was no law against it (which btw there is against using urea for the same purpose — it caused health problems ) there were no sanctions.
since slightly boosting the apparent protein content of grain protein was tolerated, it increased to the point that wheat flour was used and as much as 7% melamine was added. the melamine was industrial waste also containing cyanuric acid which combined to produce kidney clogging crystals.
in addition to banning the import of food and cosmetics and ingredients from 3rd world countries, provisions should be made within trade agreements for class action suits. nothing like money as a motivater.
i looked up canidae/felidae and paul newman’s own. i couldn’t find a store source for c/f but the local coops carry pn’s. i’m switching.

I can also attest to the fact that the Canidae Chicken and Rice is pretty darn tasty.
Oh, for those of you who remember that my best friend’s husband has been in Afghanistan this past year, we just got word that he is on his way home and is now on base in Colorado Springs. He has declared his intention NOT to re-up and will theoretically (barring stop-loss intervention) be a complete and total civilian in October. He’s disappointed because he’s been Army for 17 years but says that this tour convinced him that the Army he joined is not the Army he’s in now.

have you tryed the dry?
Japan hospital opens drop box for unwanted babies
TOKYO, Japan (AP) — A Japanese hospital opened the country’s only anonymous drop box for unwanted infants Thursday despite government admonitions against abandoning babies.
No, I haven’t tried the dry yet. Smells pretty good when you mix it with a little warm water, though.
mornin gang!
i think some of you are seeing the linkages between all of this and drawing the same conclusions i am.
Yeah, I saw that drop box thing. I was thinking they ought to install an pneumatic tube system like they have at the bank drive-thru.
Hey! Stephanie just did a Liberal Confessional and used the organ music and everything! :priest: 😡
 does that mean morning sedition is so far behind us that crappy shows can blatantly steal its bits?
:rofl2: if she does it again someone should call up and confess that they want to maim her for stealing the bit music and all from the greatest morning show of all time
I just tried the Filidae dry food. The cats love it. The dogs have Merrick dry food and they really like that.
Okay…I have a liberal confession.
Bless me bloggeren, for I have sinned.
It has been since before Morning Sedition’s demise that
I made my last confession.
I miss the Marx so much. I miss the Cardinal, and hearing Kent
Jones on Rachel’s show only makes me miss Lawton more.
I miss Casual Fridays and the Sammy Cam. I heard the Lonely Goatherd song one day and even missed Al! I heard the AAR logo will be changing, and I began to miss AAR 1.0 in anticipation of it all being gone.
So, I went to Cafe Press and ordered a Morning Sedition baseball
jersey. It came last week and when I tried it on, I immediately
looked hipper and cooler and more subversive than I usually do.
I layered a jeans jacket over it – very cool. I can still see the Marx
displayed on my ample chest. Even if it all goes away, I have
my little piece of history and hipness.
But, I am putting money into the already well-stuffed wallet of the
Green brothers! I am enriching the coffers of the station that
hired Lionel instead of Maron and kicked Sammy, Liz and Malloy
to the curb or very near it!
What should my penance be???
penance?
3,784,003 Hail Jeebus’s
or cut the grrrreens out of your money supply.
Colette, that would be three pats on the back, a cup of tea, and a hug.
SIX DAYS TIL MARC!!!! YEEEEEEHAAAAAA! I’m driving. Ol’ Zeb hasn’t gotten back to me yet but I’ll be driving my New Car. It’s exciting. Trust me.
we really should set up a clothing account PJ…if AAR wants to serve us with a cease and desist, so be it…its not like anyone there ever wanted MS anyway….I dont think it makes a difference.
Then we can give the money to some charity that makes sense….
Also, I hope that Stephanie Miller is paying who-all were listed as the writers on that bit. That is definitley conpyright infringement and at least Jim-marc should be getting something from it. Unless AAR owns the rights to all of the bits…who knows?
But its really bad form if they are not giving some sort of credit, if not payment at least….damn! There is nothing wrong with recycling stuff like that, but you really need to give the original artist some sort of credit….maybe on her web page?….She couldnt possibly do it like it was her own …could she?
The best penance is to create MS and sheeple items and sell them…send the $ to Marc/Jim or their favorite charity….
PJ whats the name of that clothing store that has the cool sweat pants for girls with stuff across the ass?
Thanks All for the penance. Let’s make sure our MS items are
produced at a living wage with natural fibers (possibly hemp fiber…
something subversive in any case) and let’s fund Morning Sedition 2.0!
Cheney Warns Iran Sea Lanes Must Be Open

Associated Press Writer
ABOARD USS JOHN C. STENNIS (AP) – Vice President Dick Cheney issued a warning to Iran while aboard an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf on Friday, saying the United States would join allies to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons “and dominating the region.”
With two U.S. carrier groups now in the region, the vice president declared, “We’re sending clear messages to friends and adversaries a Iran exerts considerable control over the narrow passageway that separates the Persian Gulf from the open waters of the Arabian Sea. Roughly a quarter of the world’s oil supplies pass through the Straits of Hormuz. …

we need cheneyy over there on the bough of a ship “warning” like we need a hole in the head!
The place we were looking at before was Spreadshirt. I wouldn’t be averse to selling stuff, if somebody(s) wants to come up with some designs. If they’re gonna use anybody’s likeness (Marc, Jim, Mark, etc.), then they should really sign off on it and/or decide if they want money. If it’s gonna go to charity, then there needs to be a means of making everything transparent, so there aren’t any issues arising down the road. I don’t want any Gloria Wise-type stuff arising. Not that I would anticipate major amounts of money being involved.
Oh boy. :boobs: Just as funny after the 5 millionth time, as it was the first time I heard it.
Im seeing these all over the place….its just a matter of time before the price drops seriously
I wish there was some sorta wifi in Hi’s house…they are all so secure and licked up… I had to get a verizon card because I couldn’t explain to him about the cable modem and all…but this would be such a great thing for him, my mom…me… 😀
I just like the idea of the words…like…SEDITIONIST or
Morning Sedition just as words…
Honestly, I never much liked the picture of them on the logo anyway and I dont see any reason to use a picture for that.
I bought a bumper sticker on cafe press or somewhere that said Wake up sheeple!…definitley would want to do it for charity and maybe they have a direct link on the site for that.
So, I went to Cafe Press and ordered a Morning Sedition baseball jersey. It came last week and when I tried it on, I immediately looked hipper and cooler and more subversive than I usually do. Colette, your penance is to post a picture of you wearing the MS jersey, so we can all see how cool you look. 😀
Hey, Kev, maybe you can send one to Amy and get her to send you an autographed photo of her wearing it.

How about a t-shirt that says “I started out supporting Air America Radio and all I got was this lousy t-shirt that I had to pay for myself AND they canceled all my favorite shows.” Oh, yeah, right, that might get us in trouble… How about “Fan of Sedition, Not Big Radio.”
I’ve been waking up to NPR lately and I have to tell you, the phrase “Morning Edition” still just sounds … wrong.
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has been cleared of allegations that she falsified her Palm Beach County voter’s registration and voted illegally — this, after a high-level FBI agent made unsolicited phone calls to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to vouch for Coulter.
The caller wasn’t just any G-man. According to PBSO documents, he was Supervisory Special Agent Jim Fitzgerald, of the FBI Academy’s Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Va. — the closest reality gets to the serial-killer catchers on CBS’ Criminal Minds.
Jose Lambiet’s Page Two
So why would an FBI profiler who went after the Unabomber take time from his busy day to even think about a municipal election snafu?
Fitzgerald is mum. But when the bureau heard about this from Page Two, it immediately launched an internal review of the agent’s involvement.

I am surprised that this take over of our government which was obviously being planned for so long and involves so many people at all levels was never seen by anyone . Kind of gives you the impression that what we thought we had never existed .. that it was all a lie and propaganda from time zero. :reaper: :reaper:
As for Chaney’s comment .. 1 aircraft carrier + 1 sunburn missile = WWIII. :reaper: :reaper:
I sometimes think the Stephie while quite entertaining takes to much of the the seriousness out of what is happening.
I can hear the conversation between two people waiting in line to be loaded into the box car before they are taken to the concentration camp saying .. “but…but… that lady on morning talk radio made it all sound like it was just a joke”. :reaper:

Or maybe an action shot of her wearing it while she ralphs after one of her shows. I’m told she goes through two or three cocktails during her set, in addition to whatever she has before showtime.
I’ve been half-tempted to ask her to autograph that picture you posted on my birthday, but I think even SHE has some standards. I haven’t seen anything that skanky since the last time I got lucky in a bar. :hubba:

So is anyone planning to check out Lionel next week? I’m not volunteering, and I definitely don’t want to seem disloyal to Sam, but what if the show actually doesn’t suck? A bitter pill to swallow, I know, but theoretically it could happen.
Lionel used to have a local show here, but I don’t remember ever listening to it, since it didn’t come on until 10 PM and I was probably busy watching NYPD Blue or something like that.
Maybe I’ll check him out next time Mama and the mooks take a week off.
Lionel is Mr centrist extraordinary. No urgency.. business and politics as usual .., don’t worry your social security/dividend check will arrive on schedule : :reaper: :reaper:
Yeah, I dunno. If it turns out he doesn’t suck, well, good. As for me, I’ve already lost interest in AAR, so I don’t much care. I catch a few minutes of Hartmann, ‘cuz he’s on NovaM, and maybe a little Randi from time-to-time, but that’s about it. I’ll try and remember to catch/cast Sam when he’s back, but that’s about it. Lionel just looks too much like Dennis Miller.
Liberal talk is moving to be non hate radio but definitely not the system is F*ed up and needs to change ASAP radio,. The vast majority of the center will continue to think that the democrats have saved us and that empire is ok right up until the time someone else decides its not. :reaper: :reaper:
I’m back to books on CD and NPR for radio. I feel like putting on a mourners’ veil for the promise that was AAR.
:knit2:
Lionel looked to me like some guy from Iran. Scruffy beard and all. His accent will definitely not give him away. 😮

A reliable G.O.P. source sends in this e-mail from “a colleague … in Iowa” who “just went to see Mitt Romney speak. This is from her, and a piece of campaign literature she picked up at the event:
His promotional flyer says, “In this media-driven age, Romney begins with a decisive advantage. First, he has sensational good looks. People magazine named him one of the 50 most beautiful people in America. Standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall, Romney has jet-black hair, graying naturally at the temples. Women — who will play a critical role in this coming election — have a word for him: hot.”

So much for enlightened Gen-Xers and sellout boomers
Attaturk cites a Gallup poll which shows that the biggest percentage of war hawks by age is in the 30-39 age range.
So I don’t want to hear any more about how boomers sold out. George W. Bush spent his college years opposing all of us who marched in the streets, and HE got us into this.
’nuff said.
hey guys….pretty fun hannity and colmbes with Imus’ ex producer and rev Al going at it pretty bad….
Hey, a girls gotta get her funny where she can.
I want to make some yoga pants that say “bring the funny back to liberal talk radio” on the butt….
Forget Lionel…he sucks…I hate to say it, but id really prefer to hear Curtis and Kuby, who I listened to quite a bit before AAR came on the air…at least Curtis is the Guardian Angel guy so he is less conservative than he could be, and Kuby is Kuntsler’s former partner and he is practically a Commie!…
Ive been enjoying the Morning Joe…Joe Scarborough and Willie Giest with a few other people…a black and a woman thrown in for good measure…its the most amusing thing on lately…
As many of us have lost our interest in AARgh (thanks, Jim), I have been losing interest in local SF affiliate The Quake for a number of reasons that I have inflicted on you here before. I thought I would see how they were dealing with the AARgh changes and discovered that they have actually dropped Lionel who they were playing daily late night and now have 2 hours of Jon Elliott from midnight to 2 AM. Apparently they have not discovered that Riley is leaving that slot or that Betsy Rosenberg is going away but they may continue to run her as a local.
For all of you NPRgh lovers and I are one to some degree, check out this new program in development.

Hass avocados from Mexico
Since gypsy is not quite up to speed yet, let me drop this hint. Recently it has become a lot easier to get Mexican avocados here. It may not be a very popular idea here in CA with our ‘cado industry (so far I have only found one market that will carry them) but they could be easier to find in other states. Now I won’t touch one of those hideous watery things from Chile but these Mexican ones are really good.
