So, I guess our boy Fred Thompson was on Jay Leno last night. Didn’t exactly feel compelled to stay up to watch (or even bother to record it). The thought of looking at his puss on the teevee for eight years (as preznit; for two minutes an episode on Law and Order, I can deal) is pretty nauseating, though. Not quite as nauseating as Rudy the cross-dressing Nazi, though. It’s sure gonna be a long, long, time until the ’08 election.

Lieberman asked to resign from his own party
(WTNH) _ The Connecticut for Lieberman Party is calling on Senator Joseph Lieberman to resign from the U.S. Senate following his remarks made Sunday on CBS’ Face the Nation regarding military action against Iran.
Lieberman said on the national television program that, “we’ve got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians.”
The Connecticut for Lieberman Chair, Dr. John Orman, called for Lieberman’s resignation saying that he “crossed the line” and “no longer represents the views of the citizens of Connecticut.”
Orman, a longtime critic of Lieberman, took control of the minority party back in January.

Aw, Mr. Wizard died. He inspired me to blow up many things, back in the day.
They apparently have no recall provision in Connecticut, which is a pity, They should work to get one. In the meantime, they should work to elect more Dems nationally so that bastard can be pitched out of every committee assignment. Let the Conn. voters live with the consequences of their votes, a marginalized, radical neocon in the Senate.
I don’t get this Fred Thompson business. He’s supposed to be good looking? Looks like death warmed over to me. :sammy:

FYI There is no recall provision for any official elected to a federal office .. Some 18 states have recall procedures for state elected officials.
The only way one one recalls there federal officials is by the means of a vigilance committee :reaper: :reaper:
Good morning all. Can’t stay long, but thought I’d post since I haven’t all week. Off work this week to MOVE… the movers just finished unloading all the furniture and boxes, now I have to go back to the old place and work on the rest of it. My sister is coming over tomorrow to assist and to help me get some old electronics to the recycler, then I’m officially OUT of the old place.
Amazing how much shit you collect in the process of life without even really trying. Speaking of shit, the other reason I need to go back to the old place is because I forgot to bring TP with me to the new place. Oops. :crap:
Fred, if someone elected cannot be recalled then why can’t we — by special vote ,,, fire him , but i thought if elected then one can be recalled … again “dazed and confused”
PEOPLE: One person, One Vote …………..It’s real easy  I am getting really bored with dishonest voting 🙄 …

Kevin has a new place :yippee: It sure is amazing how crap piles up. There’s a scene in Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nicholson where they pick up a couple of hitch hiker chicks and one of them goes on and on about how much stuff there is (and this was in the 60’s! Imagine how much MORE stuff there is now!!) and that thought has stuck with me ever since. But it doesn’t keep me from collecting more CRAP!
Morning / Evening :yinyang:

morning gang,
nice soft morning here!
new goldfish added to the pond!
Those founding fathers Fartman loves so much set up the federal government so that once you elect people and they are sworn in they are guaranteed to be able to serve out there term even if the the election was proven to be fraudulent.
They can only be removed from office if they are convicted of a felony, resign for some reason or die…
House members are not much of a problem since you can always vote for another preselected elitist in two years but the senate having six year terms is an untouchable private club. Up until the early part of the 20th century senators were appointed by there state governments and not elected by popular vote :yuck:
This is why it is so difficult to hold them responsible.
The MORONS with their ten minute attention spans getting all there infotainment from the M$M simply vote for the prettiest face and best oration and not for anything to do with what the candidate will do to or for you. :reaper: :reaper:
Yeah Kong whats happening tomorrow ??
awww…mr wizard! 🙁
RE C-SCAM :slap: :yippee:
The time and the money it takes to recall officials that can be recalled almost makes that process unmanageable by ordinary citizens.. In Colorado there is something like a six week signature gathering period, then another two week signature verification period for which your country registrars office will charge so much per signature to verify that the person signing the petition is qualified to vote. If you get enough verified signatures then you have to have a special election which you get to pay for and your county will schedule at their whim and if the person is recalled you then have to have yet another election which you also have to pay for and again scheduled at the county’s convenience to replace them.
Up until the person is replaced the person/persons being recalled are still in office doing what ever it was that made you want to recall them. :reaper: :reaper:
This school board recall we had took about 8 months and cost 170,000 dollars. When the Reich controls your county government it might cost you ten times that much.
Vigilance committees would have been so much faster and cheaper. :tommygun: :tommygun:
Vigilance committees  :rofl2: :yippee:
To me, it is illogical to constantly let the rethugs spend all the special elections’ coffers and other funds ……..
I wish DEMS had more withstanding power (ie “guts”). I would rather America to FINALLY make a real stand … and FOR ME (and my “bitchy” ways) at every turn CONFRONT (with Proof)!
…IMPEACH! and or ARREST! Hmmm which gives me a new ( more like continual) plan.

US military prepared for ‘worst’ with China: official
China’s secretive transformation of its military power leaves the United States preparing for the worst eventualities, including over Taiwan, a Pentagon official said Wednesday.
About 900 Chinese missiles are in place opposite Taiwan, while China is also rolling out far more sophisticated long-range nuclear missiles, combat planes, warships and submarines, the Department of Defense official said.
Richard Lawless, the Pentagon’s deputy undersecretary for Asia-Pacific affairs, said the US government urgently wanted to launch a strategic dialogue to discuss China’s military intentions, especially over nuclear arms.

Vigilance committees were very effective in the 19th century at removing the power bosses that ran western railroad towns. There is a cemetery on the Arizona side of ElChone pass where many of them were planted after being rounded up by the town citizens locked in a box car and and shipped to some place in the middle of the Arizona desert. :reaper: :reaper:

Can’t you imagine the scenario.. A bunch of citizens organize and start disappearing prominent rethugs , The police respond and lose a fire fight with the citizens at which point the rethugs panic and begin a mass exodus only to be be met by a torrent of RPGs blowing their Escalades off the face of the earth. It would be so fine . :tommygun: :tommygun: :fustrate: :paranoid:

We’ve managed to drive to Wisconsin and yes we bought cheese which tastes exactly like cheese. Just like the old hippies we are we have set our sights on getting to Montana and perhaps to Washington State to see an old friend. We’ll go as far as we can before we have to return to tend to cats, dogs, etc. However, this time we have our own vehicle and the accomodations are definitely better than when we hitchedhiked from San francisco to NYC.
We’ve seen lots and lots of hawks, many many long haul truck drivers who have been the most helpful drivers on the road. (None looked like Sean) and no support our troops, we love Bush or other horrible sign reminders of the 68% creationists. In Chicago there was a billboard that said, “Support our troops, bring them home.”
But, no we love w stickers on cars or any of the reich wing stuff we’ve run into on previous excursions.
I’ve wanted to tell Fred, who sent sympathy for the “mob” war that may or may not be going on in NY, that I once lived above a Mafia social club, and while they are certainly not the guys I most want to have dinner witn, they decided their job was to keep the neighbors safe. I could leave my door unlocked, unheard of in Brooklyn, and I always knew that no matter what time it was, when I arrived on my block, it was a safe walk home in a neighborhood that was not necessarily safe.
That’s the nice stuff. The rest of their stories were not so nice.
I like this song. Other than that, I got nothin’.
Scientists have uncovered a huge surprise in the Inner Mongolia region of northern China: the fossil skeleton of an unusually robust bird-like dinosaur that lived 70 million years ago. The animal appeared to be a young adult 25 feet long and weighing 3,000 pounds and, if it had lived longer, would probably have grown even larger.
Paleontologists said the discovery contradicted widely-held theories that carnivorous dinosaurs got smaller as they evolved more bird-like characteristics. But they emphasized that the new specimen did not challenge the theorized dinosaur-bird link

Is there a website that collects honestly reported economic news- you know, reality based, like Buzzflash for economics?
Reason being, I saw on Bloomberg last night that foreclosures were up 90%!!! for May compared to the same period last year and today the stock market goes up 189 points or something and Bernake is saying the retailers are farting through silk. I need some honest economic reporting (other than the occasional Paul Krugman column that slips out for free 😯
