Much like everybody else, apparently, I don’t have much to say. This sorta sums it up:
I hope everyone’s day is going to :bee: better than Warren Zevon’s last day was in the studio.
On the bright side, Sedition Radio is better than anything still on the air
I woke up to Marc doing his last Marc the Shark beating up on Toby Keith- the Marxist activist- who did that?
What a great start to the day :rofl2:  to Marc

Viva la revolution :fist: :jason:
It’s a lull, :sheep: le. We’ve had them before, we’ll have them again. It’s summertime, people are on the road or just burnt out from the heat. Or maybe mentally exhausted from reading the Chcney series in the Washington Post this week.
Does anyone really think it was better when Nicki was here posting 100 times a day? Come on.
But thanks to Sue P for posting the Mitt (rhymes with dogshit) story on Wednesday’s thread. Now I have reading material for the weekend. WTF is this idiot doing restraining an animal on the roof of a car? And he wants to be president. Sorry, Mitthead.

But I know what all of you are really waiting for…

Hey, this could be a good thing. Especially if they can use the oil to power the generators that run the microwaves.
After federal health officials discovered last month that tainted Chinese toothpaste had entered the United States, they warned that it would most likely be found in discount stores.
In fact, the toothpaste has been distributed much more widely. Roughly 900,000 tubes containing a poison used in some antifreeze products have turned up in hospitals for the mentally ill, prisons, juvenile detention centers and even some hospitals serving the general population.
The toothpaste was handed out in dozens of state institutions, mostly in Georgia but also in North Carolina, according to state officials. Hospitals in South Carolina and Florida also reported receiving Chinese-made toothpaste, and a major national pharmaceutical distributor said it was recalling tainted Chinese toothpaste.
The Food and Drug Administration has advised consumers to discard all Chinese-made toothpaste, regardless of the brand.

Good morning :joe:
Sue,
That story you posted last night about Romney and his dog really sickened me. I sent it to a bunch of people. It really shows the lack of empathy these people have. They are missing the gene for empathy. I don’t think you can learn empathy.
I think you”re right Kristapea, that they don’t have empathy but I think they DO have cruelty.

Kevin, re:#2, I was meaning to bring that up. It is summertime and that is when many, even MSers, strap their animals to their cars and vacation or have their young ones 24/7 or check out the nice weather or get a real job. It happens at the busiest of blogs.
As for c&p, I could leave NR in the dust.
I saw Armstrong Willims on Chris Matthews’ show, yesterday. What a dope He was talkng about Coulter and Mrs. Edwards, veering from sympathy to attack without seque or reason. Matthews asked him if he thought it was OK for Coulter to say that Edwards has a bumper sticker that reds “Ask me about my dead son” and Army defended her right to criticize the sticker because Edwards had it on his car. Matthews, of course, helped him by explaining that Coulter made it up.
On the radio in the morning he does the same thing, sort of acts human then starts spouting talking points often in direct opposition to what he had been saying.
In the aftermath of Gov, Corzine’s auto accident, Army insisted that Corzine should quit because the accident changed him.
Bush Won’t Supply Subpoenaed Documents
“The reason for these distinctions rests upon a bedrock presidential prerogative: for the President to perform his constitutional duties, it is imperative that he receive candid and unfettered advice and that free and open discussions and deliberations occur among his advisors and between those advisors and others within and outside the Executive Branch,” Fielding said.

:hot: Iced Coffee? No Sweat
The New York Times
June 27, 2007
Recipe: Cold-Brewed Iced Coffee
Time: 5 minutes, plus 12 hoursรขโฌโข resting
1/3 cup ground coffee (medium-coarse grind is best)
Milk (optional).
1. In a jar, stir together coffee and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover and let rest at room temperature overnight or 12 hours.
2. Strain twice through a coffee filter, a fine-mesh sieve or a sieve lined with cheesecloth. In a tall glass filled with ice, mix equal parts coffee concentrate and water, or to taste. If desired, add milk.
Yield: Two drinks.
NOTE: To make hot coffee, dilute concentrate one-to-one with water and heat in the microwave.
:joe:
Here’s my recipe for iced coffee:
1) Put 8 ounces of cold coffee into a 1 quart bowl.
2) Dump the contents of the bowl down the drain.
3) Take out a 16 oz. glass mug that’s been in the freezer for a minimum of eight hours, and fill it up with thoroughly chilled homebrew.
4) Repeat step 3 as often as needed.
In the event that you have to go to work, prior to step 1, call in sick.

well, pj, that is my recipe as well :40: . I hardly ever drink coffee, but I know we have a lot of pinky raising sippers :joe: here so I was just trying to keep it alive like a seat-filler at the Oscars.
I quit drinking coffee about five weeks ago. Not even sure why. It’s one less thing I have to do in the morning, though. But if you want me to give up beer, you’ll have to pry the mug from my cold, dead hands.
I quit many years ago but I do drink decaf sometimes.
pj- How soon do the head-aches go away? :fustrate:
Art, I drink a half and half mixture and you can actually get off coffee slowly without headaches by just adding more and more decaf…or just switch to tea…
I was surprised in the city that when I had tea in the am instead of coffee I didnt get a headache. I think that tea can have alot of caffeine depending on how you brew it.
and espresso has less caffeine than drip coffee…
A spot of Tea is Charming :joe: 8) ๐
8) Tankard of tea :joe: is even better :pirate: :yippee: :pirate:

Well, Sicko opens tomorrow, on a grand total of ONE screen in all of Pinellas County FL, population nearly one million. You would think that given the business Fahrenheit 911 did, more theater chains would want to get in on the fun. Maybe more will come on board if it does good business the first week. I know there are a lot of movies premiering next week for the holiday too.
At least the screen in in downtown St Pete, which I can get to easily, instead of in north county, where I had to schlep to when I saw F911. A 40-minute bus ride is even more fun when you cap it with a 1 1/2 mile walk in the blazing sun along a road with absolutely NO SHADE. But it was worth it. :peace:
To make things interesting, the shopping complex containing the theater (Baywalk) is owned by developer Mel Sembler, former ambassador and longtime Bush buddy. I wonder if Mel will take in a showing. Maybe on Saturday night when the war protesters show up.
:fist:
Should be an interesting weekend in St Pete. The gay pride parade is Saturday, and noted hetero Dennis Kucinich will be there too. The guy can’t stay away from here, apparently.
There was some controversy last year due to christo-fascist protesters trying to disrupt the parade, so this year the city is trying to restrict them into a “free-speech zone.” I don’t like the hate they are “preaching,” but they shouldn’t be restricted to a zone, either. I thought the Constitution (or what’s left of it when Bush and Cheney are done wiping their asses) said that the COUNTRY is a free-speech zone. But WTF do I know.
I wonder what the christo-fascists would think of my theory that Jesus was gay. You know, because he wore a dress, hung out with twelve other guys, and told them to eat his body. Maybe I should go down there.
:rofl2:
Melina- Did you just go right to half and half? How long did it take you to get off completely? I have trouble sleeping and I really want to get off caffeine completely (tho I think it has a lot of positive health benefits) :joe:
I love coffee. Always have. I can’t drink regular coffee after noon ’cause it keeps me up but I do like it.
One of the things I noticed this year is that iced coffee (made by the difficut method of cooling off hot coffee) is available almost everywhere.
But try asking for seltzer or club soda, or finding some at a highway service area and you will discover that you are an alien. I finally gor one waitress in Utah, to get some club soda from the bartender which she did without protest but with utter confusion.

now gore vidal! with david bender.
I didn’t really get headaches when I quit with the coffee, but I did feel as though I was in a fog for a few days. I love coffee, but kinda up and decided to quit, for various reasons. When I was younger, I could drink a pot of coffee and then go to sleep. Then, it was just in the mornings. In the last couple of years, I had to drink only two cups (but really big Car Talk cups; probably more like four or more cups than two), and only in the morning; if I drank even a cup in the afternoon, it made me feel like crapola. Now, it’s only herbal tea for me. Green tea has a bit of caffeine in it, but I stick to the stuff w/o any in it. I thought I’d really, really miss it, but I don’t. Of course, I used to love drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes in the morning while listening to NPR. Those days are long gone. I never thought I’d ever take a – um, that is, be “regular” again, but I’ve lately been eating oatmeal for breakfast, and only fruits and vegetables the rest of the day, and I have the best pipes in town now. I feel much better, all the way around, in fact. Now, if I could just get to be a Jim Earl stingbean, I’d be all set.
Granny is rearranging the kitchen again. Every time I figure out where the hell things are, she moves them. At least she knows not to move the beer. :40:
what i been noticing is about this time of the year everyone goes a bit crazy.
cool day wishes to everyone sweating their butts off.
been doing that myself all day.

ArtN-Sorry…had to take Will to a Dr appt in NY…OK, I think I switched midday cups to decaf first…but then quickly just mixed the beans or grounds…however you do it.
I can easily get a half caf or a decaf at dunkin or Starbucks…and it seems like the more I go towards decaf the less likely I am to have any headache at all. Now I hardly ever have full caf…but I like to drink coffee…expecially half-caf …or decaf…I dont like having too much caf on board.
