So, let’s see what we learned this week. The most unchristian like people on the face of the planet call themselves Christians. Our preznit admits his administration outed a CIA agent, but he doesn’t really give a shit, so get over it. We’ve had out civil liberties taken away from us, and blown a hell of a lot of money on this “war on terror,” all for apparently no reason. And, well, I guess a few other things, too (like Republicans are hypocritical perverts, but I reckon we already knew that). I can hardly wait to see what happens next week.
Hah! First!!
Did anyone record Sammy subbing for Malloy last night? I forgot. ๐
Hi Jill! ๐
Today’s word is CONTEMPT. The emotion (or lack thereof) that the phony unelected president and vice-president have for the Constitution and for you and me.
CONTEMPT. What John Conyers and Linda Sanchez have for assholes like the phony unelected president and vice-president because they like to trample on our rights and murder soldiers in a bullshit war.
CONTEMPT. The charge against former almost-Supreme Court Justice (man, did we dodge a bullet) Harriet Miers.
Do it. Do it today.
:yippee:
This is why I donate to Conyers once in a while. I consider it an investment in good government.
:peace:
.What a pleasure to listen to Sam, yesterday. I hope his subbing for Malloy bodes well for his getting a spot on NovaM
‘Morning all!
Speaking of Sam, does anyone have an mp3 of the last hour? XM only carries the first two hours, time-shifted. I really want to hear me some Sammy the buzz saw cutting up conservatives.
Morning gang!
just going thru some old blog archives.
it’s amazing what we’ve covered in the last three years or so.
While trying to find a free podcast/replay of SS for MM I came upon this at AAP which was not populated the last time I checked.
Note the For episodes broadcast within the last 30 days, visit Air America Premium. comment on the current shows. So if you don’t have Premium and miss a show, wait for it? Cool.
Can’t find Malloy, though.
From Malloy’s NovaM page…
Sam Seder Sits in for Mike Malloy
Come one, come all to hear Sam Seder’s first broadcast on Nova M Radio! We’re all excited to have Sam filling in tonight while Mike flys to Seattle.
I guess I should post ๐ LBH Tea :joe: Cheers All …A!I!V!
This is my first day without Bill Press — he has changed since his KGO Visits on Bernie’s or Cris Craft Shows or Sac shows … Bill was, now isn’t … why he have to totally change…. I guess Was DC changes one. ๐ Sniff … A!I!V!
I have cut off Thomm since he had a female toxic thing on which compared Bush as people friendly person , like Clinton :smack: :barf: 1 strike and yer out!
…then Thom basically said NOTHING and kinda grunts in agreement. :yuck: ya blew it! And I was loyal. :growl: A!I!V!
ANY SUGGESTIONS who to listen to after “absent too much” Steph … Lional is OUT. Gosh, I NEED break time sniff.
 and nothing exciting on the SPAM. Will :bee: be checking *poof* at 8:00am pdst
Regis and Kelly on ABC
The View On ABC
But seriously…
I alternate between Fresh Air and Your Call on KALW. Talk of the Nation on NPR. Guilty fave is Gary Radnich on KNBR. Not just sports talk and the 1st half of the 2nd hour with Tony Bruno is usually great. Not sure if it would work for this crowd.
Or just watch KO special comments on a loop.
Visualize Maron or Seder in the morning/afternoon EDT on NovaM. Of course, they would be up against Thommm and Fat Headie and Rush so might not go very far. Sorry, just the facts.
Maron 6-9 AM ET would have no problem kicking the Young Turds ass. Or, Seder 6-9 ET (so Maron wouldn’t have to start at 3AM; still a Turd killer), and then Maron on 9 – noon. Sure, Stephanie Miller has a big audience, but Maron should be able to stomp all over that guy from the Jeffersons (may he rest in peace).
I was watching the view when Rosie was on… then I was to see the “new female funny” … Someone reminded me of it and it was CHO … except after a certain battle :slap: saying how I didn’t watch The View … and, now still, rarely, I check it to to see where women and men’s minds are at, spanning the different ages….Although I like Cho, The View lost my interests — I Miss Rosie  (I even luv’d her old tv show.) Now, periodically, when I remember, I will watch Ellen (sp) D.
Thx V, I will check out the other radio stations, but I am not my father, who would listen to SPORTS . ๐ … A!I!V!
PJ, my bad :spank: , I copied your views ๐ since I agree.
Wherever Marc is, he could go on at 3am or 6pm, since “I Will Follow Him” YEA POD CASTS FOR MARC
Vernon, Visualize Maron or Seder in the morning/afternoon EDT on NovaM. I will do that and more and not even The Weird * Stuff … ๐
Miller is to me, if you will pardon the comparison, a weak, bad watered down version of Morning Sedition, but she is successful and has nailed down the slot prog-wise. At least she does try the humor approach.
I can’t imagine Lionel is having much success getting any better penetration than Seder did. I think the next portion could be more open and vulnerable. I think Fat E will crumble (melt?), Thom is just  and getting more annoying to me as time goes by (and he is not always honest or just says things whether he knows or not). But it’s gonna take some money and patience, maybe something WSJ can do when Burkle beats out Murdoch for Dow Jones. :rofl2:
I need to change the station now to get away from Thommzzz. If I need teaching I can go here http://www.drgenescott.org/.
I have to listen to the rethugs on C-Spam also. I have to listen to… ๐ … Must watch rethugs on c-SPAM :barf:
I had to quickly turn off “the stream”. It was about to play Thomm :fustrate: :jerk: ๐ … I am breaking 2 intense habits. I broke off Bill’s (broken “luv” broadcast sniff) Gotta put Laura C. (SciFi) on in background. Now Thomm… BOTH Habits are hard to “break” . ๐ … I will have to try Vernon’s suggestions. Sniff. I can not even put on to even listen, Morrigan  . ๐
ARREST! IMPEACH! then :peace:
Funny V, Cute. re: drgenescott and Min. her.
:yuck: …
Be :bee: Nice. it is hard to break addictions… :reaper: A!I!V!
FRIDAY THE 13 … MwahHaHa … 8)
Vernon, :rofl2: I had not “focus’d” on Guilty fave is Gary Radnich on KNBR
… so when I finally got to him, still with NPR on ๐ ( it doesn’t “POP”.) … I had to rip myself away since he was at least Alive … but back with NPR … always back with NPR throughout the decades. Always good, but they need a stronger voice. A!I!V! :omg:
I feel like Sean or Travis … Knock, Knock, Knock …
anyone out there? A!I!V! :dancers: *poof*
Hey Druid what did Bill the Press do to you ?? ๐ฎ ๐ฏ ๐ฏ
Hey, Jim, Geoff Muldaur‘s up your way. Playing here with Kweskin and Sebastian next month.
I think Maron and Sedar would have to be on during drive time to get high enough listenership to keep them on the air.. I doubt many liberal leaning people listen to radio during the daytime :reaper: :reaper:
fred, good point. 6-9
Eastern would be DT Pacific and Mntn.
Up against Malloy but it works for me.
Fred, Tea :joe: Cheers . Thx for asking. ” It” gets out of my heart then. ๐
The break up was brewing. He is not the same one I have listened to throughout California. I guess Diane (sp) F and Bill P can speak the same language now.
-He was saying NO REGARDING IMPEACHMENT … and made fun of those believing in it … as too “airy” and similar insults. ๐ :pirate: :growl: .
-He is NEGATIVE GORE running (but he can be a “feather”, regarding his opinion. He is basically “SELLING” Hill Clinton.
-he was saying he met all and even the rethugs (my word) are decent. Then he named dropped rethugs and others he met.
-He went on Fox and before he made fun of the DEMS (FINALLY  ) who stood up and refused the invalid FOX Network :yippee: THEN BILL Was Horrid when on FOX and did not stand STRONG! ๐
Well there is some more reasons why I walked away from Bill, but….. 3 STRIKES & HE’SSSSSS OUT! ๐ … A!I!V!
Randi soon, but whatever ๐ ๐ :pirate: : A!I!V!
vernon- just want to say how much I appreciate your considerable span of music appreciation. There’s a great little community radio station here in Boulder. (KGNU) If they ever go to video you’d be the “afternoon alternative”. Do you have a broadcasting background? Probably if I spent more time here I’d know the answer ๐ฏ
And Druid- :yippee:  for your enthusiasm :dancers:

NY Times editorial, today:
When questioned about the enormous income inequality in the United States, the cheerleaders of Americaรขโฌโขs unfettered markets counter that everybody has a shot at becoming rich here. The distribution of income might be skewed, but Americaรขโฌโขs economic mobility is second to none.
That image is wrong, and these days it abets far too many unfair policies, including cuts in essential programs like Head Start or Medicaid. The poor, we are told, can use their own bootstraps. President Bush got away with huge tax cuts for the rich in part because nonrich Americans, who make up most of the population, believe everybody has a chance of making it into the club. Unfortunately, the American dream is not that broadly accessible.
Recent research surveyed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a governmental think tank for the rich nations, found that mobility in the United States is lower than in other industrial countries. One study found that mobility between generations รขโฌโ people doing better or worse than their parents รขโฌโ is weaker in America than in Denmark, Austria, Norway, Finland, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Spain and France. In America, there is more than a 40 percent chance that if a father is in the bottom fifth of the earningsรขโฌโข distribution, his son will end up there, too. In Denmark, the equivalent odds are under 25 percent, and they are less than 30 percent in Britain.
Americaรขโฌโขs sluggish mobility is ultimately unsurprising. Wealthy parents not only pass on that wealth in inheritances, they can pay for better education, nutrition and health care for their children. The poor cannot afford this investment in their childrenรขโฌโขs development รขโฌโ and the government doesnรขโฌโขt provide nearly enough help. In a speech earlier this year, the Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke, argued that while the inequality of rewards fuels the economy by making people exert themselves, opportunity should be รขโฌลas widely distributed and as equal as possible.รขโฌย The problem is that the have-nots donรขโฌโขt have many opportunities either.
thanks Vernon!

I thought he was the genius of the prog-talk bidness making the big $s.
Re: 30
It’s also a lot more expensive to be poor. Poor people pay higher interest rates because they have bad credit and they have bad credit because they can’t absorb life’s bumps as well. Poor people also pay higher medical bills because they don’t have insurance and end up in the emergency room more often. There are oh so many ways this society sticks it to the poor and now the middle class gets to experience it too.
NPR Wins Again …well, it made me :bee: calm ๐ :omg: ๐

From Rawstory:
“‘How about across the bridge, it’s quiet over there,” Florida House member and state co-chairman for Sen. John McCain’s presidential bid Bob Allen allegedly told a police officer moments before his arrest in a Florida park for soliciting sex. Allen, a Republican first elected to the House in 2000, was referring to a possible location for a sexual encounter that would be away from the men’s room in the park.
“Allen engaged me in a conversation in which it was agreed that he would pay me $20 in order to perform a ‘blow job’ on me,” Officer D. Kavanaugh wrote in the arrest report, obtained by PageOneQ. Kavanaugh stated that he was in the handicapped stall and he “observed Allen look over the door of my stall and make eye contact with me. Allen then stepped away and then came back to the door of my stall and looked in, making eye contact with me again.”
This was, reported the officer, the second time Allen had entered the bathroom. Earlier, Allen had been seen entering the bathroom by Kavanaugh and other officers in the park.
As the lurid details of his alleged encounter with the officer emerged, Allen told a press conference he “would ask people not to jump to any conclusions about this.” Allen faces misdemeanor charges for solicitation.
When his appointment to the McCain campaign was announced, the Arizona Senator said Allen was a community leader and praised his ability to “wrestle with the important issues of our day.”
Another SF legend passes.
Soon they were making small porn films. They reached cult status, fame and profit in 1972 with “Behind the Green Door,” starring porn icon Marilyn Chambers, followed by “Resurrection of Eve” in 1973, “Sodom and Gomorrah: The Last 7 Days” in 1975 and several other now-cult films that were hailed for taking porn from the dark, dirty corners with higher production values, humor and social commentary.
In all, the brothers would produce hundreds of films, face and beat more than 100 arrests on obscenity charges and help pave the trail for what has become a multi-billion dollar adult movie industry.

Insert repug and send to Larry Flynt.
Hey, so, Jeff Farias is talking about this movie, Zeitgeist and has the film maker on. I watched the beginning of it and it was really interesting but since it was still early in the morn decided I needed to get some yard work done before it got too hot and haven’t had the chance to finish watching it. Check it out.
I just saw O’Reilly debating two Muslims about their desire to pray in publc places. O’Reilly was staunchly behind the separation of church and state.
Wow, Rethugs are having a healthy serving of their own words, lately.
To paraphrase Daffy Duck, “they’re dethspicable.”
I think it’s all because their mamas don’t dance, and their daddies don’t rock ‘n roll.

Wow! Cris looks awesome! The last time I saw him….well…. if you read the article you’ll read when the last time I saw him was. :yuck:
That guy is amazing and scary and generous and incredibly funny. I can’t believe he’s still alive what he’s been through. Just when you thought someone couldn’t get lower he would and you wonder when you’re gonna hear about his death. I’m so glad he made it out.
