Another too short weekend is upon us. I dunno about you guys, but I have lots to do, including bottling a batch of homebrew, and cooking up another batch. I actually have the fixin’s to brew a couple of batches, but one needs to sit around and age for quite a while, so I may have to do that next weekend. So much beer, so little time….
It is 3:50 am PDST …

These truth tellers can be as indignant as they want to but until more that 10% of the public finds a way to do something about the M$M other than not watching/listening to it what they say will be of no avail. it costs lots of $$ to be in the media business.. if that investment were to have a bad non weather related accident it would be very unlikely to reoccur. :reaper: :reaper:

Kucinich: Clinton, Edwards are rigging the ’08 election
It is a “conspiracy to rig the presidential election,” says angered Democratic presidential contender and Congressman Dennis Kucinich, after hearing a verbal exchange between Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. John Edwards suggesting that future debates should include fewer candidates.
Says Kucinich, “[I]n a democracy people get exposed to ideas and they make the decision for themselves.”

After finding out how Dean was eliminated in the 2000 election I began to think that something smelled.. I now can only think that this political selection process sucks.
I wonder how they would react to loud noises.. :reaper: :reaper:
Nixon: “But if (Len) Garment stays on, and, which is probably likely. You know, somebody’s got to handle the bicentennial and all that nonsense. He’s very good at it. Let him be the House Jew, don’t you agree?” :rabbi: :menorah:
“My mother felt that I had some aptitude for music. And when I was seven years old I started to take music lessons from my uncle on this Crown piano. I also learned to play the violin, the clarinet, the saxophone and the accordion. I’ve often thought, that if there had been a good rap group around in those days, I might have chosen a career in music instead of politics.”
Oy, the gift that keeps on giving.
Nixon ( and most politicians for that matter) would have made a good CEOs for CD music distribution companies.
1. They know nothing about music
2. They make the musicians their indentured servants giving them maybe a dollar for every ten they make..while witting contracts that make them the only distributer and locking the musician into five or more years of work for them…
Its no wonder that the good musicians have drug problems :reaper: :reaper:
Russia suspends arms control pact
Russian President Vladimir Putin has suspended the application of a key Cold War arms control treaty.
Mr Putin signed a decree citing “exceptional circumstances” affecting security as the reason for the move.
Russia has been angered by US plans to base parts of a missile defence system in Poland and the Czech Republic.
The 1990 Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty (CFE) limits the number of heavy weapons deployed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Urals mountains

re:13 fred, pretty much true. Not too many ‘music’ people left in the bidness anymore. Musicians really do need good lawyers (or dentists?) to prevent becoming indentured.

I was ‘distributing’ :omg: his DVDs in a past life. We had an event here and people were lined up and he signed for nearly 6 hours. LA and NYC were even longer that week.
Eddie is a pretty big comedy figure in the UK and brilliant imho. He has also become pretty hot as an actor and starred in a cable series this year called The Riches. He almost had a role in 24 this season.
His US DVD product is distributed by noted punk entertainment company Epitaph.
Hopefully he doth not offend.
A couple of interesting articles. First, does the universe have a beginning and and end, or is a cyclical universe, repeating once every trillion years or so?
It would explain déjà vu, wouldn’t it?
Speaking of the big bang, it may just be that instead of one cyclical universe, there have been multiple universes:
vernon- I was thinking of getting some good weed and spending the weekend looking at all your posts and then I saw Clifford Brown on Soupy Sales (yesterday #71) and decided I didn’t need no stink’in weed- I was already on a trip :rofl2: :bong:  :alc: :omg: :billcat:

I also thought that the ‘they’ think that “our” universe is still expanding and may be in more peril of colliding with others than contracting 😮 😮

Krista, thanks for posting the article. I’ll have to start looking for the CD next week.

Speaking of which, I finally found Little Britain on DVD. My local Borders has each of the first three series for $29.99 apiece.
Computer says NO!!! :fu:
I’ll have to keep looking around for a better price, but at least I know they’re out. Borders never has good prices even when they put stuff on “sale.”
Although it is cheaper for me to buy Q magazine there than to subscribe and pay the overseas charge, so I guess that’s why I go there once in a while. It can’t be the shitty service.
The heat must be making people slow. I had to stand at the counter in Macy’s men’s dept for ten minutes before someone came over to ring up my shirt, and usually those guys are all over me like it’s a bathhouse.
I missed :fustrate: :slap: but refound :yippee:

I think I also agree with the expansion concept (must research more (maybe :rofl2: ), since not longer in this particular TIME and SPACE.).. but for NOW I have to really contemplate how we are in a certain space amongst a very crowded, moving Universe i.e. The Chaos Theory. :rofl2: :omg: 😮 😯 😮

Yeah, Kevin, Cris and Curt really have a way with words sometimes. :nana: One time, I got a crank phone call from some guy that said he’d seen me at this club I had been to a couple of nights previous. I didn’t hang up because I was trying to figure out who it was because he knew a lot about that night. Every time I was gonna hang up he’d go, “no no no no no no no no no no!” And he kept saying, “don’t you remember me, I had the tall hat and the little monkey?? Remember how you liked the little monkey?? Don’t hang up, no no no no no!” And I could hear people giggling in the background and stuff. It turned out to be Curt, who I have never really talked to but my friend Jack was telling him what to say about the club I had been to. It was Curt’s birthday and they were all making crank calls. :alc:
Speak Out to Stop the Slaughter of Wolves

Wolf Photo TAKE ACTION
Dear Rev. D. Morrigan,
The Bush Administration has just issued a disastrous “License to Kill” plan that could trigger the extermination of half the gray wolves in Wyoming and Idaho, starting as early as October — unless we stop it now.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is accepting public comments on this cruel proposal only until August 6. Please register your opposition right now by clicking here to submit an Official Citizen Comment.
Our best hope for blocking this “open fire” order is to generate a tidal wave of public outrage and protest…so please sign your Citizen Comment immediately.
The Bush Administration wants to treat wolves like vermin, instead of an endangered species that has staged a welcome and dramatic comeback from the brink of extinction.
In preparation for these mass killings, the government has already purchased planes and helicopters capable of gunning down entire packs of wolves in minutes.
Their goal: To immediately kill up to 700 wolves in Greater Yellowstone and central Idaho.
Our goal: To stop this horrific proposal in its tracks — by generating 200,000 pro-wolf Citizen Comments by the August 6 deadline.
Can we do it? I’m certain of it. Only three months ago, online activists like you sent more than 137,000 Citizen Comments protesting the Bush Administration’s plan to remove Greater Yellowstone’s wolves from the endangered species list.
But even before that battle has been decided, the Bush Administration is upping the ante by declaring open season on wolves.
Simply put, they will allow the slaughter to begin while wolves are still on the Endangered Species list!
The administration wants to be able to kill wolves anywhere that elk herd numbers may be affected by wolves. It is focusing on areas where elk herds are smaller than the states want.
But those few cases of declines in elk herds have been caused by a combination of factors including habitat destruction, drought and human hunting — not just by wolves. And in most areas of the northern Rockies, elk numbers are at all-time highs!
Please block this new License to Kill by expressing your personal opposition while the Bush Administration is still taking public input.
Submit your Official Citizen Comment now — and shield the wolves of Greater Yellowstone and Idaho from the coming crossfire.
Sincerely,
Frances

The sad thing is that it still works on a lot of people. I look forward to explaining this shit (again) to my sister later tonight. She doesn’t always figure out that sometimes when you’re explaining a conspiracy, you might sound like a conspiracy theorist. It’s sort of an occupational hazard. :tinfoil:
As for Chertoff’s gut, I think it lost most of its power the night Olbermann poked so many holes in it.

A crank call from a rock star? How cool is that? All of the social recognition and none of the social disease. 😀
A construction worker found himself looking down on NYC’c redtail hawk, Palemale, and decided to spit on him and then to lauch a couple of pebbles which hit the bird.
The story made the front page of Mardoch’s NY Post with a hyped story to go with it. Seems even Palemale isn’t immune to Murdoch’s charms.

Of course it was the photographer, Lincoln Karim who caught it with his camera and alerted police, etc, to arrest the dope. The hawks are a protected species. The story and the usual amazing animal pics:
