Phew. Thank goodness the weekend is finally over. One more day of not having to get up at 5 AM and then driving 50 miles to get to my job that’s less than five miles away, and I’d have gone stirfreakincrazy. I’m just so glad that I don’t have any vacation time yet, ‘cuz I don’t know what I’d do with it.
So, let’s see what this week brings. I’m just wondering if Bush and Cheney are gonna force the Democrats to impeach them, no matter how reluctant they may be to actually do it. Of course, if they’re gonna impeach, they have to convict. That means they need to convince another 25% or so of the people to clamor to remove these assholes. That’s the only way half of the friggin’ Republicans will ever vote to convict. Oh well, off to the salt mines.

Good morning. I have nothing intelligent to say yet. But it’s Monday, so that doesn’t surprise me. Hopefully my brain will warm up at some point.
its monday……
Ship of fools: Johann Hari sets sail with America’s swashbuckling neocons
I am standing waist-deep in the Pacific Ocean, both chilling and burning, indulging in the polite chit-chat beloved by vacationing Americans. A sweet elderly lady from Los Angeles is sitting on the rocks nearby, telling me dreamily about her son. “Is he your only child?” I ask. “Yes,” she says. “Do you have a child back in England?” she asks. No, I say. Her face darkens. “You’d better start,” she says. “The Muslims are breeding. Soon, they’ll have the whole of Europe.”
It actually gets more extreme.
Wow, Andy, that was an amazing cruise through the reich.
It’s very important, I think, that one relies on real info lest we become as delusional as the Bushies. I agree with Kristapea that when Tom Hartman fudges the facts he does us all a great disservice and it is unacceptable.
From Bill Kristol, the reichman who has been wrong about EVERYTHING:
I suppose I’ll merely expose myself to harmless ridicule if I make the following assertion: George W. Bush’s presidency will probably be a successful one.
Let’s step back from the unnecessary mistakes and the self-inflicted wounds that have characterized the Bush administration. Let’s look at the broad forest rather than the often unlovely trees. What do we see? First, no second terrorist attack on U.S. soil — not something we could have taken for granted. Second, a strong economy — also something that wasn’t inevitable.
And third, and most important, a war in Iraq that has been very difficult, but where — despite some confusion engendered by an almost meaningless “benchmark” report last week — we now seem to be on course to a successful outcome.
Andy aka Aquaman and Sue P,
Andy, I know by personal experience  in Southern California, including … … wait for it …… … … w.f.i. …. …. …
San Diego. :omg:  …. Same words in late 60’s, 70’s ,80’s , … 90’s I was in mountains and now, already been cursed at, cuss’d at, and wished death upon, especially when protesting the War. There are 3 ways (maybe more sorta) I am contemplating as Strategy.
Yes, Sue re Thom …. I use to  worship him and because of things he said and of which he did not disagree and he did not correct a regular quest regarding moving the DEM direction in the way Tom and guest (Ellen) believe and also AAR OWNER(s) believe (i.e. no impeachment and similar negative thoughts regarding people like me).

Good Morning. :joe: I don’t think I said that Sue. Unless I’m blogging in my sleep now :smack:
Tea :joe: Cheers Fred,
Andy, I only know to speak by example … I copied to dissect further. This is a real situation. Scary. I think, as always, EVERYONE should put rethugs on probation or disregard them totally, at least until they can “play” nicely. … A!I!V!
I really don’t think that either the dems or the rethugs pay much attention to their constituency in between elections.. The polls they respond to are those made of the corporate CEOs who paid to get them into office in the first place.. The
electionselection process is just put there to make the :sheep: le think they are choosing a candidtate. :reaper: :reaper:Democrats snub their own for calling President Bush ‘liar’
A Congressional Democrat has been reined in for calling President George W. Bush a ‘liar’ during a Thursday hearing of the House Judiciary Committee, according to the Monday edition of the newspaper Roll Call.
“Rep. Mel Watt (D-N.C.) offered a lengthy criticism of Bush’s record toward the end of Thursday’s hearing, which included a statement that Bush lied about the reasons for going to war with Iraq in 2003,” writes Susan Davis. “Rep. Chris Cannon (R-Utah) offered an objection on the grounds that Watt’s words were ‘unparliamentary’ and violated House rules on debate and decorum that forbid personal attacks on Members, the president or vice president.”
The exchange occurred just before the end of the hearing that expected to receive testimony from former White House Counsel Harriet Miers, who failed to appear. She cited the White House’s exercise of ‘executive privilege.’
Davis notes that a problem then occurred.
“Commercial and Administrative Law Subcommittee Chairwoman Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) countered that the words were not ‘unparliamentary,’ which parliamentarians and leadership aides on both sides of the aisle later agreed was the wrong procedural call,” she writes.

Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress
America’s first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.
Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler’s later seizure of emergency powers.
“It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that,” Mr Ellison said. “After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted.”
To applause from his audience of 300 members of Atheists for Human Rights, Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because “you know, that’s how they put you in the nut-ball box – dismiss you”.
Vice-President Dick Cheney’s stance of refusing to answer some questions from Congress was “the very definition of totalitarianism, authoritarianism and dictatorship”, he added.

Thom does OK if he misstates something only if someone corrects him. However, he does twist and manipulate fact in his quest to be the smartest guy in the room and debate winner. He is also incapable of admitting there is anything he does not know and often seems to be making it up. I find that unacceptable.
I wish I could document this but I just gave up listening recently and moved on to sports talk. I don’t even listen to the Friday Bernie Brunch anymore. I might listen if his show was on at night as a  aid.
Ohhhh, Fred, that was rather sexy in the ’80s :hubba: , except the bad guys almost got into where they shouldn’t and “luckily” couldn’t (but almost). DITTO  😉 … Again A!I!V!
Druid,
I also thought I heard her say at another point “Maron and I” as if they were working together on the TV show – but then, hope springs eternal in me. The show was to premier on tv in NYC on 7/9 and the website WILL BE here, http://www.shootthemessengernyc.com/ …someday.
This just sounds like the kind of project Maron would be involved in or guesting on.

It was sure good to hear Lizz Winstead on Air America again.
vernon, he has quite an amazing background; however, as I cried on Friday, he did somethinng very wrong and lost me and many, it seems. I might get to go back and listen if he “corrects” himself and not ridicule or let others ridicule we folk who believe in IMPEACHMENT.

Sorry, Kristapea and Druid. I thought I remembered correctly who had made the observation about Hartmann. Just goes to show what age will do to the brain.
But, the point was well taken. Hartmann does fudge and twist.
mornin gang,
life goes on thru the fog.
Bgurl’s dad is stable after his stroke.
I think this is PJ and RG’s congressperson:
Representative James T. Walsh knows what it means to have clout.

But these days, Mr. Walsh seems a little humbled, and a little worried. He cannot get a bill passed without the help of the rival party. He is on a list of Republicans whom Democrats are seeking to topple.

If anyone is looking for something on Coney Island other than a bunch of freaks slamming hot dogs down their gullet like a fois gras factory, there was a 1979 NPR report replayed yesterday.
Heartman’s historical perspective seems to need the “were you there Charlie qualifier” quite often.. The SBR has been for the elite, and by the elite since its conception. The only way the typical citizen got anywhere is when he threatened the bottom line of the capitalists.
They have to be put on record that if they push to far it will result in them hanging from lamp poles. :gate: :omg: :jason: :fist: preferably with some examples :fist:
he’s doing OK, grumpy, almost back to normal. :billcat:
Yep, that’s our Jimmy Walsh. They were much, much too kind to the Bush rubberstamp than they should have been. He hadn’t done a town hall meeting in ten years because he despises the voters, and never felt he should have to talk to them. He actually said he was “disappointed” with the voters in Syracuse, because they voted against him. The only reason he barely won is because the district is gerrymandered to include areas in redneck suburban Rochester. He was a solid backer of Iraq (though he decided it would be much better to spend a couple years in the Peace Corps, rather than go to Vietnam). This was the first time in a long time there was a solid challenger, Dan Maffei. Maffei actually showed up at every peace rally I went to, and he didn’t make any speeches or hand out pamphlets. He just participated along with everybody else. Quite refreshing. Used to work for Charlie Rangel and Daniel Patrick Moynihan.
Oh, did I mention that Walsh is an asshole? I’d hate to leave that out.
Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress
America’s first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.
Oh, come on. This is a completely inappropriate comparison.
Hitler was a really good public speaker!
:rofl2:
OK, I stole that off one of the contestants on last week’s Last Comic Standing, but it’s still funny. 😀
Another problem with Heartman and Ms Rant is that they talk about the rethugs as if Bush and Cheney were the only ones with this ‘bazzar ideology” there are tens of thousand of “those people” out there :gate: :omg: :jason: :fist:
rethugs are 👿
Sue P, re 30 :pirate: :dancers: :pirate:
re 31, :nana: I do not nor would I go; however, if everyone stopped going and pay a touch more to local stores or work to get a GOOD Local Store, then Wal-Mart might , MIGHT listen.
No. Correction. People do not have time to breathe, no matter what they do, and with or without children. So they must go to that which is near. Perhaps “deluge” Wal-Muck with PostCards and Letters, like in the first Harry Potter… :hubba: twitter , giggle , mwah haha … A!I!V! … Hilde V. B.

BEIJING (AP)–China has suspended imports from Tyson Foods Inc. (TSN) and several other U.S. meat processors – the latest indication the government may be retaliating as its products are turned back from overseas because of safety concerns.
Chicken sale at Wal-Mart next week ❗
Fred, rethugs are 👿 I can see your point and intensely agree. … A!I!V!
I think if someone built and dispersed widely plans for a siege engine that threw three litre wine bottles two blocks for use against Wal-mart it would receive wide spread support.
Wine comes in bottles?
Ellison compared Bush to Hitler? Nope.
re 43 8) I am glad the Chinese Gov is playing that game. I feel we should never trade with the Chinese Gov. I also believe we should deal with “reality” of having less money. Then this business society will have to deal with the cruelty and debauchery they, the business world, started in and within these massive, nationwide lay-offs… A!I!V! …G.T.P.S. …Pink!
If you look at what the Chinese quit importing they were like pig knuckles and chicken feet which I would assume are delicacies of some sort for the Chinese elite which the majority of Amerikans would never eat . :yuck: I can’t imagine that Tyson and ADM haven’t set up their own sweat shops in China to make their
poisonfood locally. :paranoid: :paranoid:In other words BFD :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid: :paranoid:

Could I upgrade operating systems while the computer is like that. I don’t really care about loosing any info I have on it.
Ice-cream makers frozen out as corn price rises
Suzy Jagger and Carl Mortished
What’s the connection between ethanol, the biofuel produced from corn, and a cherry vanilla ice-cream? Answer: the first is responsible for pushing up the price of the other.
This month, the price of milk in the United States surged to a near-record in part because of the increasing costs of feeding a dairy herd. The corn feed used to feed cattle has almost doubled in price in a year as demand has grown for the grain to produce ethanol.
Christina Seid, whose family have been making ice-cream at the Chinatown Ice Cream Factory for 28 years, said yesterday that she expected to have to raise her prices, along with all competitors in the short term. “We are holding out as long as we can, but prices will rise,†Ms Seid said.
The squeeze on ice-cream makers, chocolate manufacturers and pizza companies – all of whom use dairy produce as a raw material – is set to tighten as the price of a gallon of milk in the US – up 55 per cent in the past 12 months in some American states – is now the same as a gallon of petrol, with dairy prices accelerating faster than the cost of fuel.

Get into your BIOS and make the CD bootable then boot the Windoz install disk and choose to repair the installation.. Choose to run the repair console and then run Chkdsk so that it fixes bad blocks from the command prompt. Type Chkdsk/ ? for a list of commands.
thanks Fred but there are no disks..no back up
but that’ll work for a new OS?
OK. I don’t know how to read apparently.
Do you have a system restore disk that came from the manufacturer ??. Maybe there is a repair option. :fustrate: :fustrate:
I’m pretty sure I don’t have that system restore disk. That’s why I’m willing to just throw everything away and install Vsta or something…with new anti virus protection
I’ll check back later. thanks

I need Music — eek :smack: A!I!V! … Well, at least Take Back Country from the rethugs. 🙄 (giggle :nana: )
Sounds like something that Fat Headie said or did re the Seattle town hall meeting the other day that pissed off Malloy. Any clues? He will address later. It sounds like the event was a little awkward at any rate.
Vernon, I heard nothing except good things from Cenk and Steph on Air today. ( 😮 State of Georgia … just mentioned about how it is a rethug state.) Now I have to listen to Malloy to hear “Where The Action Is”. :smack: 😉 A!I!V!
And Bender is leaving. :smack: 🙁 The Computer says no
Whither goest Bender? I have been looking for audio or video of Seattle town hall. Listening now. I can’t stand Fat Headie. AIPAC tool. I want to hear or see the whole thing.
I listen to him, (off and on) … and he is for Impeachment.
And I am trying to break my Thom habit. *** Bloody Hell, AIPAC :smack: … Well Thom may be a bit sorry, since today he was pro impeachment when I checked, then listened to…. so perhaps back to Thom… or listen to Pink :rofl2:

What’s with the Bender, D666?
The robot from Futurerama?

Sorry Vernon, I got into that Town Hall Meeting and then other things..

Re Bender, :rofl2: :rofl2: see above post.
Not much info … now I am worried he may put off until this weekend, since he said he was going to see “Bobby” there. :paranoid:  :paranoid: ……… :growl: A!I!V!
helloooooo….
Travis, you dont say what sorta computer you have and how much RAM it has…you want to be very careful to have alot of power for that Vista creature. You may be able to get a copy of the old OS on ebay…a full certified copy because people are upgrading…
PJ, which F key do you tap upon startup to get into the test mode?
Trav…you would force a shutdown, restart, and as the thing is restarting tap F5 or F12 or somesuch…PJ will know which one…then you will get into test mode and be able to scan different parts. I would start with the hard drive.
If its soemthing like the hard drive you can get one on ebay and replace it easily…they usually come with instructions from resellers….just need some little screwdrivers.
Bender did say he was just taking a “break” … I hope a “Book” will be next. He has been keeping his guest EVEN FOR LAST SEGMENT 😮 I don’t know what’s going on  …A!I!V!
It is 8:17 PDST Did I miss anything? Upstairs now.
I was on the wrong channel. What did I miss? He seems “hot” and angry. WHAT DID I Miss PLEASE ? :smack:
What Bumper music did I miss ? ………… 😀 A!I!V!
I have been bouncing about, and I think I missed every thing 🙁
I missed Bender’s farewell. yet I thought he was to be on Saturday … but it sounded FAREWELL 🙁 9:00pm
I would have thought they were grooming Bender to take over for Pap or RFKjr on RingOfFire.
WebHubbleTelescope, 🙁
Flying by to sign off … Good Evening All
Hopefully I will not be … :reaper: Omega A!I!V! 😉 *Poof*
Georgia Board Grants Stay Of Execution to Consider Case
IAMI, July 16 — One day before he was to die by lethal injection, convicted cop killer Troy Davis received a 90-day stay of execution Monday from a Georgia clemency board, allowing him time to press his case that he has been the victim of mistaken identity.
