Can anybody explain to me what’s so fucking tough about putting on your turn signal? Especially you left-turners out there. ‘Cuz, like, some of us actually have better (or at least more urgent) things to do than sit behind your fucking SUV sucking exhaust will you wait to turn left. And, no, waiting until the light turns green to put on your turn signal doesn’t count. Might as well just leave the damn thing off at that point, asshole.
While we’re at it, would it be too much to keep an eye on the traffic light while you’re sitting there? I mean, you basically have two very simple jobs when you’re at a red light: keep your foot on the brake, and pay at least some passing attention to the goddamn light. Is that so hard? Never mind your hair or your cell phone or whatever the fuck else it is you’re doing while you’re not paying attention to the light. A 17 second reaction time at a 20 second light is just not acceptable. Not when I’m the fifth car back, fer chrissakes. Bastids.
And why the hell do people think it’s cool to hoot, holler, scream, and shout, while people are on stage, trying to perform?
May There Always :bee: a Dance In Your Step :cat:  :pup:
And A Twinkle In Your Eye ๐ก :santacool:

So, not bitching at me can kill you? Hmm. Trying to decide if that’s a risk I’d be willing to take.
Okay, the Young Turks and Jeff Farias has the best bumper music, in my opinion. A!I!V!

So according to Bush, Iraq is JUST LIKE VIETNAM? What an asshole.
I know I was young and not probably paying that much attention, but I must have been on vacation the week that the Viet Cong followed us home and murdered American civilians.
I was on the fence as to whether or not to attend the MoveOn event next Tuesday. Not anymore – I’m leaving work early that day to be there. Thank you, Mr. President. You fucking asshole.
:fu: :fu: :fu:
On a lighter note (so to speak), does the intro to the song in the clip at the top of the thread remind anyone of “Alice’s Restaurant?” Seriously, I was looking around for Arlo Guthrie. ๐
Wow I go to work a bit and poof Fred has appeared with Kevin M too :yippee: … Tea :joe: Cheers.
Goooooood Moooorning Viiiieeeet Naaaaammmmm โ A!I!V!
the best comment i’ve heard on ths was yesterday on turks: “bush’s brain has left the building”
maybe rove’s leaving because he too strongly objected to the viet nam analogy and bush just read a biography of nixon and identified with him. just a thougt.
As Cenk would say “You’re 100% right, 0% wrong”
I wish we had better than the Junk Turkees tho’
I meant Jung Turkees, but what does it matter. It must be caused by some deep psychological, spiritual tormented conflict I have within me.
Good Morning :joe:
Yes, and love is like oxygen.
All those attempts to keep Bush from seeing protesters, or anything that doesn’t agree with his fantasy world, have left him with the impression that the wingnuts are the masses and he’s playing to them.
It is disgusting, that a guy who avoided service thanks to daddy, and then went AWOL, would suggest that we should have stayed longer in Viet Nam.
There is a parallel to Nam: IT TOO WAS A DISASTER.
Good morning…. :joe: :joe:
Tea Cheers Kristapea,… I have a hangover and I wasn’t even drinking. that’s the ticket, maybe I should. I work Graveyard Gang. :rofl2: :alc:

Some 250,000 Chinese-made address books and journals bearing the popular, perky character’s image (Sponge Bob) were recalled yesterday because they might contain hazardous levels of lead paint.
Ohio-based importer Martin Designs found unsafe lead levels in the books’ metal bindings and notified authorities.
The address books’ UPC code, printed on the back cover, is 80773007505; the recalled journals have the UPC codes 80773002260, 80773075501 and 80773007551. They were sold between June 2006 and July 2007.
Meanwhile, China, which is reeling from bad publicity over toxic pet food, toothpaste, toys, and other products – is now fighting back, targeting American soy.
Its inspectors claim to have found “numerous quality problems” with imported American soybeans, including pesticides, poisonous weeds and dirt.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/08232007/news/nationalnews/lead_sinks_spongebob_china_goo.htm
They must have consulted Rove about how to deal with the problem because instead of fixing it they’re going to threaten US imports. I am sure it will work, though, and that Bushco will order that there be no more testing of Chinese products. He’ll probably issue an executive order requiring every infant to suck on a lead based pacifier.
Yeah, and before we have 50,000 US Soldiers killed, we really ought to get the hell out. Imagine if Kennedy hadn’t been killed, and he’d pulled us out of Vietnam in 1964, when there were only some 16,000 US Troops (as of 12/31/1963, there were 16,300 total US troops there – by the end of ’64, there were 23,000, and by the end of ’65, there were over 184,000). In all, some 2.7 Million Americans served in Vietnam, with over 58,000 dead and 300,000 wounded.
That’s what “staying the course” looked like then, and we’re destined to repeat history in Iraq and Iran. Except the Iranians will reach out and touch us here, if we fuck with them over there.
sue p:
don’t give em any ideas. sounds like a good way to grow more republicans.
Sue P, (my animals are starving and about to eat me :growl: )
I blame China, but also the American manufactures and importers and wonder why the “masses” are not understanding all is due to demanding the cheapest price and not using the Unions and Watchers of the Unions thereof to protect the workers and buyers AND the products. Whatever. … I am missing a fiddle, as Nero had, How about a Dance :dancers: or the playing of the Tin (Irish )Whistle? :fist: A!I!V! My Head Aches :fustrate:
One of the theories about why the Roman Empire fell blames it on lead. The Romans used lead vats to make wine and they drank the stuff with meals. Even kids drank it. They were also fond of lead pipes, and lead in glassware.
Lead sucking might indeed create more Republicans but, personally, I think Bush was just born stupid as are his followers. The ingestion of lead just makes it a bit worse.
Roxie and Sue P, I was thinking about the pros and cons about the nearer concept about artificial life. More Dem-types would be 8) but more rethugs = :omg: … :fist: A!I!V! :dancers:

The Bush administration is set to issue a regulation on Friday that would enshrine the coal mining practice of mountaintop removal. The technique involves blasting off the tops of mountains and dumping the rubble into valleys and streams.
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/23/us/23coal.html?ref=todayspaper
Warning: Side effects of reading this include nausea, disgust and severe, violent anti-Bush thoughts. But then most of the news does the same.
sue p: check yesterday’s blog, 2nd from last post re german alt energy initiative. we won’t need more coal if we have a massive switch to alt energy.

Try to find John Prine’s “Paradise” somewhere, a great song about the coal mining thing.
roxie, I don’t really know how to embed the video w/out linking to the page with the commentary. That does not mean that I would want to hide it. It is what it is. It is a sad situation.
The people there have been in a colonial situation for centuries. Education has not been great (look at me!). WVa used to be very Union/Dem. The energy-cons used coal to turn that around.
Now the plan seems to be to roll out the model for the rest of US.

I would have put that one there but the WARNING was too long with the Bluegrass and the Country and the Banjo and the Fiddle and the Hippy :bong: and the xtra tune and all that.
I figgered only Sunny Jim could much stand it and he seems to be on detail.
Thanks, Roxie, I read it last night. I guess there is hope, though sometimes it’s hard to hang onto.
Today, apparently, is the 80th anniversary of the execution of Sacco and Vinzetti. It was one of the incidents that radicalized my mother, who was a young girl when it happened. But then there was the Depression, and the union movement and McCarthy and Nixon and Reagan and, and, and. That activism got passed on to me at some point and sometimes I have a hard time hoping but mostly I’m willing to keep on. It can get overwhelming, though.
I washed the rug, today. That seems to have made me feel better. :omg:

“As if it were not bad enough that we are censored by the main stream
media, now there’s a new type of suppression being implemented upon
conspiracy related websites and alternative media sources.
It’s called *Link Relevance Suppression*, and it’s being used by
the popular search engine Google.
It’s also being used in the opposite way to “Promote” Neo-Con supporting
websites by giving them double the “Link Relevance”…
