It may snow above 7000 feet here on Sunday ๐ฎ ๐ฏ :nana: :nana: :nana:
I’m just waking up. I don’t know why I was so tired, but I was. I guess it’s really the end of summer.
Now I have to think about going to a surprise party. I really hate this. First of all, people over the age of 10, don’t need surprise parties. People over fifty are probably more in danger from having a heart attack than are likely to be thrilled at the unexpected sight of people one hasn’t seen for a year (or more).
Worse, I have to go to the Bronx. I hope this is short and sweet.
Some one at work was going to set up a surprise party for a friend of theirs and had obtained the keys to there house by house sitting for them .. They apparently were not aware of the alarm system that had been installed.. The local Gestapo were apparently not very understanding.. ๐ฎ ๐ฎ
Fred Thompson: Dissent makes US ‘weak,’ carries ‘heavy price’
In his first interview since declaring his presidential candidacy, Fred Thompson repeatedly warned against the perils of a “weak and divided” nation, raised the specter of unspecified terrorists with suitcase bombs, and expressed a willingness to employ nuclear weapons against Iran.
“If you’re politically committed against this war and to do something to further harm the president, the way the Democrats seem to be in Congress, then anything [in the Petraeus Report] that’s a mixed message is going to be seized upon in a negative way,” Thompson told Fox News on Thursday.

Dear Mr. Putin please oh please relieve us of this plague.. :barf: :barf: :yuck: :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid:
I read recently, though I can’t remember where, that Nixon thought Thompson was “as dumb as dirt.”
Sounds as if we have to agree with Nixon on that one.
Unfortunately, much of the electorate is not too sharp either.
Good Morning :joe: , I don’t think Fred Thompson is gonna get very far. I heard that thing that Nixon said about him too. I think a lot of the people that hold office anymore are dumb as dirt. I don’t think intelligent people get elected anymore. :smack:
If you are not dumb as dirt, you know that holding elective office in this country is a frustrating, thankless job, unless your only motive is greed and graft.
Perhaps rich people get dumbed down by to much inbreeding.although I thought that would eventually make the males sterile ..Unlike the Romans I don’t see how they consume all that much lead :reaper: :reaper:
I still think that not having had a war on Amerikan soil since 1812 has made the IDIOT MORONS to willing to follow those pounding the war drums
Those pounding the war drums really need a taste of their own medicine.. :tommygun: :tommygun:
Scandal and suicide on St. Pete City Council
ST. PETERSBURG – City Council Chairman John Bryan walked into City Hall just after 1 p.m. Friday and handed in his resignation letter.
Less than five hours later, he was slumped over in a golf cart in the garage of his Floral City house, dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. He was 56.
Bryan’s suicide came after news spread Friday that authorities were investigating allegations that he had sexually abused three girls, including two of his adopted daughters, ages 12 and 15. Ron Stuart, a spokesman for the Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court, said the third alleged victim was a nanny for Bryan years ago and no longer lives in the area….

A staunch Republican and former finance chairman for U.S. Sen. Connie Mack, Bryan helped push Baker’s agenda through the City Council.

I initially thought he may have been in charge of the bus system. :reaper: :reaper: :reaper:
I read about Bryan, this morning but it didn’t mention that he was a Rethug. I guess it’s just an assumption that one must make.
Did Bryan author legislation to make daughter abuse a capital crime? That would fit the Rethug profile.
Have to get ready for SURPRISE party. Surprisees are Rethugs. Can’t wait.
Expressions of sympathy are appreciated. I’ll be back.

Hey Melina! We got money for 8 computers, no server though.
I’m here in Long Beach at the Breakers.
I thought I put a link in my last post.

If I can find out anything more about John Bryan, I’ll post it. As of the 6:00 news last night, it was reported that he had resigned due to allegations of sexual abuse, but they didn’t have much detail beyond that. I missed the 11:00 news due to watching Bill Maher, got the paper this morning (OK, early this afternoon) and saw the headline.
I guess the big Repig news in St Pete yesterday wasn’t the Giuliani visit after all.
It will be interesting to see how much of the slop from this story sticks to St Pete mayor Rick Baker. He’s sort of a Repig golden boy in this area. He can’t be re-elected due to term limits, so the Repigs are grooming him for onward and upward. My guess is that they will do their best to quickly rinse away any residue from the Bryan scandal.
And Akron was only down one point to Ohio State at the half!
Granted, they ended up losing 20-2, but good for them for keeping it close. I thought we might have another Appalachian State/Michigan happening this week. This game definitely won’t help the Buckeyes in the polls.
How is the weather Travis? :knit:

American Routes is a great music based radio show out of Louisiana hosted by Nick Spitzer.
They collaborated with another public radio show for a special second anniversary of Katrina program that you should give an hour to lislening.
New Orleans: Routes to Recovery
an American RadioWorks special in collaboration with American Routes
With the second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, the award-winning national documentary series American RadioWorks visited New Orleans to explore the status of our long road to recovery. The one-hour program (www.americanradioworks.org for local listings and content details) raises the question: Could the preservation and restoration of the city’s cultural life provide the most enduring path to its rebuilding? American Routes’ Nick Spitzer joins American RadioWorks’ Stephen Smith to offer a provocative look at the city’s vernacular culture and its role in the recovery from brass bands and Mardi Gras Indians on the back streets to renowned musicians such as pianist Henry Butler and clarinetist Michael White–who have respectively made decisions to leave and remain in the City. Also featured are Wayne Baquet of the restaurant Lil’ Dizzy’s, visual artist Willie Birch, and Jordan Hirsch director of Sweet Home New Orleans, a program devoted to resettling musicians in their hometown. These individuals and programs, such as the Louis Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp, are examples of choices made to be active in the Cityรขโฌโขs recovery using culture as an agent that creates social continuity and offers a potential for community economic development. Also included is an exuberant second-line presented by Tremรยฉรขโฌโขs Sidewalk Steppers and comments on renewal plans from the Cityรขโฌโขs Director of Recovery, Dr. Ed Blakely.
Happy birthday, Sean. :cake:
my bad :spank: it just i am sooooo very happy to finally be online with working comp-u after WEEKS grrr then this last week  bloody “l”. My cats kept falling from screen onto keyboard  …ok computer people, have at me My Bad :spank:
I am back. I think there should be a law that forbids lousy speakers at parties. The music, as always, was so loud that conversations had to be carried on at a shout, over speakers with the requisite LOUD bass and the tinniest treble possible. Made Orbison sound bad!
The party was in the Bronx at an old Italian restaurant with lots of Yankee photos. Old time Yankees. There was a large photo of Sinatra when he was arrested in New Jersey for “seduction.”
:billcat: WOW :yippee: :pirate: :tap: :dancers:
I have (i think) EMOs. :dancers: of :reaper: A!I!V!
Sue P. why the heck (says the misanthrope) are ya goin’ to a party — it must be for kids :rofl2: :peace: I’ll :bee: have, ๐
Druid, it was a party for friends of hubby and I had to go or really hurt some feelings. I hate parties, especially those that consist of too much food, most of which I won’t eat, and too loud music. This one had both, plus a miserable speaker system.
The good part was the old Yankee and Sinatra photos and I took a walk around the restaurant to look at them. I also mangled an earring. Ugh.
But my misanthrope credentials remain intact.
I just found my way HOME and I think I even have EMOs — :yippee: :dancers: … :nana: ; ) It was just a joke (i guess a weak joke) I was just harassing the teacher. (giggle) that was my LBH = Led/Lead Balloon humour. = joke that just doesn’t fly. ๐
