I was on the highway yesterday, and passed a broken open bag of garbage. It was really windy, so the garbage was strewn all over the place. Not a pretty sight (kind of brought a tear to my eye, like the native American guy in that commercial that you won’t remember unless you’re old), but one that’s pretty rare these days. It reminded me of when I was a kid. Back then, it was pretty common to see somebody toss garbage out their car window. McDonald’s bags, full ashtrays, just plain garbage. Whatever. I guess those commercials actually worked, ‘cuz that kind of shit it pretty much unheard of today.
So, shitty as things have gotten over the years, at least some things have gotten better. Haven’t they? Geez, I hope so. I hope it isn’t all doom and gloom and everything sucks and it’s all hopeless. Al Gore didn’t invent the Internet just so we’d buy more shit and have access to porn, did he? I mean, this is all available to us now, because this is exactly what we need at this time in history to prevent the coming apocalypse, isn’t it?
Geez, I sure hope so. In the meantime, I guess I better go cut the grass.
:joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: 😮 😮 😮 😯 😯 :yuck: :crap: :paranoid: :paranoid:
❓ ❓ ❓ Whatever :sheep: le
So today is the day of the great ANSWER demonstration in DC ( in the case you haven’t heard about it on the M$M).. In fact I see no one is going to carry it ( not even C-span) so if it doesn’t appear on the TeeVee did it even happen..
:yuck: :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid:
There is a Reich wing BS agent on C-span .. where oh where are those guys in ski masks and sweatshirts. :tommygun: :tommygun:
FRED :yippee: ❗ ……………. :dancers: of :reaper: A!I!V!
The ANSWER coalition really needs their own prime time talk show on AAR (like it would have a snowballs chanace in H* of happening :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: )
:reaper: :reaper:
Make loud noises .. make loud noises.. make loud noises .. ( insert mushroom cloud emo here) :tommygun: :tommygun: :tommygun:
Fred, ick and :yuck: y … Murdick … owns WJ how can you even endure to watch? One less “stream” feed to listen to … at least it is quiter. 🙄 A!I!V! :dancers:
No Murdork owns the WSJ ( Wall Street Journal).. FAUX news and The Washington Tines among other things .. C-span and Washington Journal is owned by the cable company monopoly.. ( similar but not the same) :yuck: :omg:
Oops, 😳 I thought WJ was WSJ just a quicker way of writing :smack: I guess since C-Spam is that i.e. spam 🙄
so which is more reliable?
This scripting error problem ( 500 error) is becoming problematic I think the Blog or the service provider needs a long conversation with its mommy :reaper: :reaper:
Bill Press had a man on saying WSJ now is just mostly Rethug Rag now. Since WSJ was bought by Murdicked I seem to be listening less and less. :dancers: of :reaper: A!I!V!
I don’t feel so alone now since I am NOT the only one.DOH ERROR 500 … :yippee: A!I!V!
I am back and forth since I am “closing down” shop. And dealing with the outside strays and the RATS. 🙂 :dancers: A!I!V!
Good morning.
I have gotten several several “error 500” messages recently.
I think you are still confused Druid ,, but… any media these days that is paid for by the corporate world is likely to be Reich wing biased..
The option of not listening or trying to find something to listen to in “our” media or a popular music station is always there but one has to think about the great number of the possible listeners that fit into the category of IDIOT MORONS who listen to the M$M or find they only have the Reich’s media to listen too. ( ok that was repetitious) :reaper: :reaper:
:yippee: :yippee: :yippee: its Sue P :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:
You survived your first week of school :reaper: :reaper:
Fred, I thank you. :rofl2: I TRULY Understand now :fustrate:
:pirate: :yippee: :pirate: Fred Is ALPHA, he’s #1 : yippee: :pirate:
Thanks for the cheer, Fred. Because I work for a not-for-profit, and not the NYC Bd of Ed, survival is much easier.
NYC schools are now under direct mayoral control and so they are being pressured to show results so the mayor looks good. Poor kids. One of the things that the the mayor and his chancellor have done is put administrators in the schools who have NO educational experience. This, of course seems reasonable to them because they have NO educational experience, other than as students. These administrators, knowing nothing but their fantasies, make ridiculous demands and put in place programs that are ineffective, at best. The poor teachers have to do what the administrators demand and then do what they know actually teaches the kids. And, when they are successful, the IDIOT MORON supervisors say, “See, our programs work.”
AND YEA AND 8) Sue P Made It Thru first week :dancers:
Today, most of Baghdad’s neighborhoods are being patrolled by coalition and Iraqi forces who live among the people they protect. Many schools and markets are reopening. Citizens are coming forward with vital intelligence. Sectarian killings are down. And ordinary life is beginning to return.”
— President Bush in his speech Thursday on Iraq
BAGHDAD — “Ordinary” isn’t a word that residents of Baghdad use to describe their lives.
Gunmen are driving people from neighborhoods in the city’s southwest. Electricity, depending on which block you live on, is available as little as two hours a day. Running water, if it’s available, is unsafe to drink.
Car bombings are down, but most residents won’t leave their neighborhoods, frightened that they’ll encounter Shiite Muslim militiamen or Sunni Muslim extremists who’ll kill them.
Some markets are reopening in the southern neighborhood of Dora under the watch of U.S. soldiers, but no one from outside the neighborhood visits.
As for schools, it’s hard to say: The school year hasn’t started yet.

When you try to run a school district as a business I can see how you end up with parallels like administrators with no educational background.. Most Hi tech business have managers that don’t know a thing about what is happening. They are just there to push the employees often by intimidation to make unrealistic goals and then get ticked off when QA returns half the stuff because it doens’t work. :yuck: :omg: :crap: :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid: .
That’s exactly it, Fred. Somehow, the idea that schools are a business has become very popular, although I can’t figure out who the clients are. Certainly not the students.
Good morning, Druid.

Religious freedom has sharply deteriorated in Iraq over the past year because of the insurgency and violence targeting people of specific faiths, despite the US military buildup intended to improve security, a State Department report said yesterday.
The Annual Report on International Religious Freedom found the violence is not confined to the well-known rivalry between Sunni and Shia Muslims.

I remember the tearful indian. Those commercials really did work because if you look at Mexico, where they didn’t show those commercials, it’s a friggin mess! There was also the “Don’t be a litterbug” ones. Now, all the public service messages are about meth and pot. :tap:
A dose of dirt could be the best medicine for preventing allergies in kids who’ve never had them.
While avoiding excessive contact with germs can help prevent the spread of infections, going overboard with cleanliness could be at least partly responsible for an increase in allergies among children, mounting research suggests.

I think my mom intuitively knew this, she’s kind of a slob. Your immune system needs something to fight every now and then to keep strong.
Sue P… A spoonful of dirt helps one breathe.
DITTO (reclaiming) Kristapea … T :joe: Cheers.
I have to find out What is Going Down? — regarding protests. I did not check my hotmail, but someone should have sent….
eek 😮 now I see other posts and I have to “play” catch-up. 😉 … :fist: A!I!V! :dancers:
I apologize constantly to my young friend cuz of MOST people in this society — did not cut down on pollution. I can Honestly say I DID — but I apologize, cuz of folks older, younger, and my age did not do barely anything let alone pollute and “conjured” allergies and asthma. …. :dancers: of :reaper: A!I!V! *poof* but will check back in a few cuz I have to look up protests and then again for a bit *poof*.
Well the ANSWER demonstration does indeed appear to be nowhere to be seen. You can watch it on the DC traffic cams but that doesn’t do much for the speakers. :reaper: :reaper:
Is GoLeft Tv going? (AND SHOULD OF!!!!) There has to be somewhere or Monday I am calling all stations, I think in NY, if not aired. I have a large flag (actually standard size) .
I heard that anti-war protesters and anti-protesters protesters decended upon The Capitol…….. Nothing Else (so far). A!I!V!

Fred, what intersection on “cam”? (while i look at where here) A!I!
Alan Keyes filed a Statement of Candidacy (Form 2) with the Federal Election Commission–thus officially announcing as a Republican candidate for President of the United States.
Keyes told Janet Parshall, host of a nationally syndicated radio show, that he’s “unmoved” by the lack of moral courage shown by the other candidates, among whom he sees no standout who articulates the “key kernel of truth that must, with courage, be presented to our people.”

Ohh wonderful…. :yuck: :yuck: Alan Keyes one more IDIOT MORON for the IDIOT MORONS
Thank You 😉 for the locations. I found the site, but you have a more Logical One. It is thrilling watching the protest…..for whatever. A!I!V!
I am tired of being “POLITE” to those whom Do Not Deserve my Respect.. A!I!V! I was writing re one in jail and his “Team” and another who stayed at my husband and my place in and now facing a 2d time to be in jail again for saving … :growl: HSPD
I just watched Alive Day Memories on HBO. If you haven’t seen it yet, do so. It is incredibly moving and powerful. Gandolfini may not be the world’s greatest interviewer, but he mostly stays out of the way and lets the soldiers tell their stories.
Anyone who thinks we should continue the Iraq occupation needs to see this documentary and learn about the lives that are being wasted due to this bullshit.
(kind of brought a tear to my eye, like the native American guy in that commercial that you won’t remember unless you’re old)
And the sad part is that I remember commercials that are even older than that, so I can’t be mad about the comment. And I really want to be.
Just found this quote on Crooks and Liars, and enjoyed it so much I thought I would share it.
Democratic Presidential candidate Governor Bill Richardson, campaigning today in Iowa, issued the following statement regarding the recent “spying†incident involving the National Football League’s New England Patriots:
“The President has been allowed to spy on Americans without a warrant, and our U.S. Senate is letting it continue. You know something is wrong when the New England Patriots face stiffer penalties for spying on innocent Americans than Dick Cheney and George Bush.â€
:rofl2:
(Although it’s really not all that funny if you think about it.)
That is not funny because it’s true :tap:
We watched Alive Day Memories last night. I didn’t think anything could make me feel as sad as Last Letters Home, but it came pretty close.
I drove home from the Island this afternoon, about a 2 1/2 hour drive and, having finally replaced my XM antenna, I turned on AAR about 2:30 and heard Cappy McGar (sp). Oh my goodness, what a jerk. Who is he?
He was talking about the Moveon ad, saying it was offensive but I couldn’t figure out why. People called and no one was offended. Then he had a conservative country singer on, Trace Adkins, who, apparently, is a conservative and has just written a book to tell us all that he is, and even he wasn’t offended.
There are many really good liberal talkers, why must they put on guys like this?
It just is a beautiful Sunset … I am just very “sad” this late day to eve, but the Sunset is … and that gives one good, deep breaths.

Forty years ago, when the Louisville native married Air Force officer Harold Trainer, Carol wouldn’t have gone near anything associated with the Summer of Love. “I wasn’t an activist; just the opposite, in fact.” But since 2002, when the Trainers–he retired from twenty-three years in the Force, she from eleven years as a Northwest Airlines flight attendant–found that they couldn’t keep quiet about the catastrophe that was poised to unfold in Iraq, they’ve been unlikely stalwarts in one of the country’s feistiest grassroots antiwar movements.
