You know, people suck. OK, not all people, just some of them. Especially those who have a need to be known by their title or degree (say, “Doctor” or “MD”). Sorry (okay, not really sorry), but I just am not impressed by somebody because of their job title. I also don’t really give a crap how people dress (I’m not impressed by a suit and tie – I’ve dealt with too many salesmen in my time). I won’t get into specifics, but, suffice it to say, that old adage is true: no good deed goes unpunished.
So, I think we ought to get a lottery pool going here. You know, we all chip in, pick a set of numbers, and if we win, we’re all winners. It shouldn’t be too hard to set up. Money for the tickets can be sent via paypal. The tickets purchased get scanned and posted prior to the drawing, and the winning numbers and payout get posted for all to see. There’s a certain amount of trust between the players and the designated ticket buyer, but I’m pretty sure it would hold up in court if somebody tried to stiff the other people. Plus, I’d like to think we can trust each other. And we’d have to decide what lottery to “invest” in. Here, we have the NYS Lottery, as well as MegaMillions. I know other places have the Powerball.
Oh well, just a thought (can you tell, I’ve got nothing else to say). Have a good Thursday.
