Damn, I have a headache. It’s been a while since I spent three days in a row planted in the chair writing code. It’s actually kind of fun, but also kind of tiring. Especially when you’re doing something you really have no idea how to do. This coldfusion shit is kind of annoying. It makes certain things very simple, and it makes some simple things very, very difficult. And then there’s Oracle to deal with (which is fairly straight SQL, but then again, not always). If this makes no sense to you, you’re not alone. It doesn’t make much sense to me, either. That’s the problem with faking your way through life. It tends to give you a headache (greatly exacerbated by progressive lenses, I might add).
PJ, I’m a faker too — an artsy-fartsy writer type who managed to get into programming when any monkey could do it. Right now I’m in a Cold Fusion shop and frankly, I think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. I’d hate to work on an ongoing basis with anything else. I don’t know much about the CF Administration side (I’m not allowed to touch it) but if I can help with any coding problems you have, let me know.
Thanks. There are some interesting features, but some pretty maddening things, too. You can’t have multiple checkboxes with the same name, for instance. I guess they thought nobody would ever want that. The grids are nice, but limited. I was trying to bind a grid to a form to update the record, and the damn thing wouldn’t bind. Not sure if it was because the table had a primary composite key, or what.
Plus, I’m working on moving some existing apps over to a CF framework. Unfortunately, the existing tables are very poorly designed, so it’s a pain. There are three table that use customer id, for instance. In one, it’s customerid, one it’s customer_id, and in the third, it’s cutsomer_id (sic). Oy, whatta pain. And nothing is normalized, so there’s redundant data. It really should be redesigned, but they don’t want to spend the time on it.
And they seem to like the flash forms, which are nifty for about two minutes, but get to be a pain to work with. A lot of times, you screw something up, and all you get is a blank page with no clue as to what the deal with. And the debugger is really pretty annoying.
I’m getting used to it, but the problem is, I’ll go to my other location for three days now, and do html, php, some graphic design, work on a new joomla deployment (if I ever get to that), maybe a little CF, ordering computers, doing inventory, answering stupid questions (yes, there are such things as stupid questions), and by the time I get back to the other stuff, it takes me half a day to get my head back into where I was. And I have to pull a bunch of data from the data warehouse for some research projects.
All while constantly turning Malloy up and down, because he’s been doing a lot of screaming lately that isn’t workplace appropriate. His inside voice is barely audible, and then he screams out “FILTHY SONS OF BITCHES” so loud they can hear it in Rochester. Not good. I’ve been sticking to Hartmann, Farias, and Maddow lately. And Sammy, of course, on Mondays.
And it appears I didn’t win the Mega Millions last night, so I’m screwed.

Russian Bear Bombers Fly Along Alaskan, Canadian Coastline
MOSCOW, September 20 (RIA Novosti) – Two Russian strategic Tu-95MS Bear-H bombers carried out a flight along the coasts of Alaska and Canada during recent command and post exercises, the Russian Air Force announced Thursday.
“Each Tu-95 plane took about 30 tons of fuel on board, for the first time since the Soviet era. Their average flight duration was about 17 hours, during which the planes covered a distance of over 13,000 km [8,000 miles],” said Alexander Drobyshevsky, an aide to the Air Force commander.
According to the Air Force, the bombers were refueled in the air by Il-78 Midas tankers.
Drobyshevsky also said another pair of Tu-95MS flew around Greenland into the eastern Atlantic, a flight that took about 12 hours.

The Tu95s design dates from the 60s just like the B52 but the Russians just built some more .. The Neocons may discover that being able to bully countries through the IMF and World bank doesn’t have much of an effect on a country who doesn’t import anything from you and has paid off all its IMF and World bank loans. and has a leader who would like to see our imperialism end just like theirs did. :reaper: :reaper:
Good morning. :joe: :joe:
PJ, did you blog with Maher last night?
PJ They make us use a headset if we listen to CDs or web radio at our desks.. Were not supposed to stream during “core business hours” but I don’t think they realize that most of the computers in manufacturing can also stream so if you don’t mind the plastic suit or the intern in her tank top ๐ฎ at the monitoring desk you can always go over there to “make some repairs, analyze a problem” or something. ๐ ๐
No, I didn’t blog. I fell asleep, actually, and haven’t even watched the show.
I have my back to the place where people come from, so I don’t use headsets. I don’t want anybody sneaking up on me. We can’t really stream radio, ‘cuz they have the bandwidth throttled down for certain types of stuff. I download the previous day’s stuff to my flash drive every morning, and then listen at work.

I heard a day or so ago that Bush now has OVER-KILLED Saddam’s
Killing — sorry no stats and not worth wasting time on.. bush has murdered more, and that is the fact to me.
The day has broke … Tea (and I think coffee) Cheers. A!I!V!

Between the sanctions against Iran from 1991 to 2003 , the destruction of physical plant in the 1991 war and the current occupation we are responsible for the deaths of around to 2.6 to 3 million Iraqi’s .. This of course is typical of the SBR in its efforts to subjugate indigenous populations that find themselves sitting on top of some natural resource we desire. :reaper: :reaper:
Hold on, it’s Judi.
That’s the stunning line Rudy Giuliani told an already-skeptical crowd of gun enthusiasts yesterday when he abruptly interrupted his speech – to take a call from his wife.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/09222007/news/nationalnews/bad_call_by_rude_rudy.htm
This is from the NY Post, a paper in which facts are not important but a Rethug attitude is. The headline, this morning, is Judi-Whipped.
I knew I heard that but thought I had to be wrong … when around total 3 million…Fred,
I think I am shutting down, and I do not want to. I probably should take a vacation, but I do not know what that is.
I saw a video at Sederville about the Children’s hospital in Baghdad.
I heard on a “broadcast” that Sgt Jeffers was one of the 7 regarding that op-ed article in NYT . He is not … so that gives time.
AGAIN.I feel that the 4 left of the 7 have to be taken out of of that Green Zone /That Whole Area immediately.
Everyone, at least gives me supervisors now, when I call Senators. I use to have “workers”.but for what good? The phone people are TWITS!… They did not have ANY IDEA what a NSPD or HSPD were … I have been known to test them by saying “What Does The N stand? Thats all or P.D., even?
They know I (count as what 1,xxx plus per call) what 20,000 (or 12-15,000) per email or was that for a bloody letter … I am forgetting numbers–
DAILY SOMEONE IS BEING KILLED IN IRAQ. —
I am calling and writing — more like sending SPAY/NEUTER Post Cards … THEY KNOW I AM EXASPERATED. Then, MONTHS LATER (example: re NSPDs especially 51)
FINALLY someone could answer what NSPD and HSPD stood for.
Finally, a gentleman, realized that he had better learn, and he did. And immediately I had some resemblance to Sanity, and he soothed this savage beast … with KNOWLEDGE.
…I have a very minor case of “dyslexia” , except when stressed.
I am very stressed … A!I!V! I must meditate … the thing is Time. Yesterday, I did for an hour, yet it hardly cleared my eyes. I am going out to my one time exquisite trees, that had to be cut down … These 50 some year old (Monterey Pines — HUGE) cased 95% of the damage to homes and to other home and other damages in the ENTIRE West Coast. The only good thing is I planted Redwoods … but they are so small — Thankfully, and I lifted out of my sorrow long enough to tp save one stump from being cut to ground. It is my Alter and Meditation (mostly) spot. It is a Grand Space. Ta.
/|\ARREST! IMPEACH!
BTW M.Pines of mine were almost 50 and this is when the winds blew intense last year. ๐
Druid, you sound very stressed. Time to take some time just for Druid. Burning out is not the answer, though it can be hard to avoid.
fred, what is the source for the Iraqi death toll from # 11?
Syracuse beat Louisville! That should brighten PJ’s day.
Not to mention Akron over Kent State, South Florida over North Carolina, and Ohio State is cleaning Northwestern’s clock nearing halftime. Way cool.
Now if we could find someone to beat Bush and Cheney, we’d REALLY have something to cheer about.

Without Medicine And Supplies,
The Children Die
The U.N. embargo has devastated all of life in Iraq. But nowhere is the deprivation more evident than in the once-modern health care system, where sanctions deny doctors the medicine and equipment they need to save patients dying of the curable diseases burgeoning amid the wreckage of war. U.N. officials estimate more than 2 million Iraqis have died in the last decade as a direct result of the sanctions.

‘655,000 Iraqis killed since invasion’
http://gnn.tv/headlines/11720/_655_000_Iraqis_killed_since_invasion
More recently there was a number released that put that number at more like 1 million.
Between 1870 and 1920 the lesser SBR was directly responsible for around 2 million deaths of native Americans caused by disease and poor living conditions on their reservations in North Dakota and Wyoming. :reaper: :reaper:
Maron meets the Reich
Thanks, fred. What I figured. The link that you gave me said this

That is pretty awful but what am I missing here?
Wow, I’d love to hear Maron and Reich, unfortunately they’re in LA not NYC. I hope someone records it.
I’d love to see it but probably won’t happen. I think this is a series that ends up on public radio

so we may be in luck. I will try to keep an eye on it.
Thank You Sue P. and Thank You Gang for the TLC. I think I was use to my journals, wolves, 20+ years in mountains, plus now my personal blogs. Sorry, I did not think what I wrote was as intense as perceived. I do not have a problem, ever with my “Romantic” (and I am talking about a “writing” genre ๐ ) Depressive Sorrow for “things”. Put a pill into me and it takes away most of my True Creativity.
Usually a major action of mine will also occur it usually means something en route (I do not read now except 3 maybe 4 here, if they wish) — as in something “wicked this way comes”, but it has been coming for a long time — depending how one “looks” and “perceives”.
Now, regarding what is here, onthis blog: recently, I was advise of “computer etiquette. From here on, I will always put all links pertaining to article. I was just believing that if one puts out part info … especially regarding Death :reaper: to let people know “whats going down” — that one was under the belief that as one was working on one aspect of something developing many here could look up to check “Reality” and to aide, further, thus we all work together. I was told improper etiquette, improper manners. I was just thinking that on a developing story we would all work together towards the Goal of more knowledge. However, I will develop fully first, before putting out. (That way I will just take full credit whilst I publish other things.) LBH. ๐
My Bad :spank: I will be on my Ps and Qs. ๐ A!I!V!
Thanks Vernon. I read the Bloc site and it said they would make podcast of all their talks, so with some luck perhaps we will get to hear it.
I keep meaning to tell you that I always sign notes to other teachers, Sue P, and I once asked a few if they didn’t think of me as Soupy (Sales optional). A couple did but several said they read it as Soup.
Amen to that. They dominated the entire game, and then tried like hell to give it away at the end, but they managed to hang on. And it was even on the teevee.

re: saturday football. I know it’s not like marquee division I football, but Mrs Art and I sure have had fun watching the kid get some playing time as a redshirt frosh the last two weeks and today got his first tackle and a sack (Colorado School of Mines v Chadron State). Unfortunatly it was 7-35 ๐ฏ but Chadron was the RMAC conference champions last year.
… I followed and understood Fred, since I know what he was saying. But I believe Fred understood I was in a certain angst (and SUE P, again thank you). (Do not know where fact figures are from … some are just different figures, constantly changing from different numbers regarding the deaths and Military destruction of property, depending who states the stats.)
I have heard from 300,000 deaths to 1 million Iraqi deaths — and that does not explain the unfathomable numbers of that which has been destroyed BY bush’s AMERICAN. 1- 3 million is NOTHING to what we have done. I have heard many reports, but done in an askance manner, to where One Has To Hear…then One Knows. If one does not hear , one does not know. I understood what Fred said. He figured he was talking to me and he gave me … Sanity.
Now, I have to decide is it worth Proving or is it better yet to finish some things on my path, which benefits’ more than just me. Well ๐ :fist: ARREST! IMPEACH! :dancers: of :reaper:
Just what I know  If Everyone Cared … Nickelback
I am sorry I caused confusion … I also think that it is a waste of my time to just C&V … that is mostly what is done on other site. (except for some here now, since the conversation is more diverse than just the repetition of the top 10 stories, of the day … dealt over and over and over again.)
But please understand this … Everyone here has helped me to reawaken my brain for the speed of “being in town now” with a snapping Z. MOST of my 20 plus years was with full (yes full, I have an hybrid now–my last wolf) full wolves in the mountains. Rarely over last 10 years (when in mountains) I had human contact (and before that, hardly ever). I was alone (since husband could not endure wolves, the wild, nor the mountains any ) longer. One time for about 2 months I had the rare human contact ( by a gentle very tall mountain man, which I helped to build my one room beautiful, basic wall to wall windowed home — in a few months. It was charming. Strategies had to then change. I am not totally “here” yet, strongly improved, by the help of this blog and with my city political meets. :fist: A!I!
Roxie and PJ and others … sorry ‘US is a bit ahead.
