Happy Sunday, and the first day of Fall. The days get shorter from here on out. And, for the first time in a long time, it was actually fun to watch an SU football game yesterday. Hopefully that wasn’t just an isolated incident. Anyhow…
On Today’s Press the Meat, Timmy Potatohead hosts another edition of Meat the Candidate. Today’s meat is Hillary Clinton. Then, it’s an “exclusive” with the sexiest man alive, Alan Greenspan, who will be on to hawk his book.
Hillary’s making the rounds today, and her next stop is with Bush Buddy Bobby Schieffer on Faze the Nation. And Booby will have a couple of hack writers on, in the form of David Sanger of the NY Times, and that schmuck John Harris from the ever-incorrect Politico.com.
Next stop for Hillary is Fux News Sunday, where she’ll hopefully bitch slap Weaselface Wallace around, just like Bill did. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also get to hear from that paragon of virtue, Newt Gingrich. There is, of course, the Fux News panel of asswipes, led by Brit Hume Cronyn and Bill Kristol, and then Ken Burns will be on to talk his latest homage to war.
Moving over to the Goebbels Network, it’s – you guessed it – Hillary Clinton. Then it’s a roundtable of E.J. “Grey Poupon” Dionne of the Washington Post, the asshole David Brooks of the NY Times, Cokie “the hag” Roberts and George :jerk: Will. And I guess Hillary and Ken Burns shared a cab over from Fux, ‘cuz he’s on too.
As for Wolf Blitzer’s Late Emission, there’s – believe it or not – Hillary Clinton, HHS Secretary, Mike Leavitt, France’s Foreign Minister, Bernie Kouchner, Chuckie Hagel, everybody’s favorite war criminal, Henry Kissinger, and one of the few guys who looks good with a flat top, Zbigniew Brzezinski. Plus the usual assortment of CNN hacks and liars.
Later, on 60 Minutes, Scott Pelley interviews Iranian President Ahmadinejad, Morley Safer does a story on pot, and Steve Kroft speaks with former chess master (and current political rabble rouser) Gary Kasparov. What, no Hillary?
Have a good one.

Hey veron
During the 1991 Gulf war the SBR bombed out a lot of the Iraqi infrastructure and then forced the sanctions at the UN.. As with a lot of UN things the sanctions are SBR things just forced through the UN to make it look like “the world” made them do it. Among other things the SBR bombed water treatment plants for which the sanctions made repair almost impossible so a lot of Iraqi’s died from water born diseases. Sanctions almost never effect the governing elite they just decimate the population of the country being sanctioned. :reaper: :reaper: A punishment put forth by IDIOT MORONS :tommygun: :tommygun:
PJ, The first day of summer (the summer solstice) is the longest day of the year. After that the days start getting shorter. They’ll begin to lengthen after the first day of winter, which is the shortest day of the year.
Today is the autumnal equinox when the length of the day and the night are equal. Lots of folks claim that they can make an egg stand on end, today; I’ve tried, but no luck.
I’m up early this Sunday, :joe: :joe: ’cause hubby fell off some scaffolding yesterday and so I get to walk dogs etc.
Hubby has been shingling house. He says he ONLY fell 10 feet. Luckily all he seems to have done is badly sprain and ankle so he’s hobbling around. We’ll get back to Brooklyn today where there are such things as stores and get him some crutches so he can hobble better, but I’ll be on dog and driving duty for a while.
Great Autumnal Equinox All. By The Power of the Balance A!I!V!
Yes, I should have said, the days get shorter than the nights. Or the nights get longer than the days. Or that it’ll be fucking dark at 5 PM pretty soon.
Sue P. … I and will never (well hardly ever :rofl2: )
Hey, Soupy how’s ya sail’n? :rofl2: (Bad M :spank: )
Hmmmmm, Soup is good for cold days. :rofl2: Now ya be ready for school… :pirate: “aaaaarrr matey”.
How tall is home? Can scaffolding be used? If the house is higher, as my Victorian, “roof workers”, are having to use the “rope” system (workers hate that) — and I am glad their “bosses” make their employees use “the rope” system, since then I can breathe and almost relax.
fred, I know that.
I just want to get the source for your numbers. From the first one you gave me you doubled the number of casualties as best I can see. I don’t believe you would manipulate facts or selectively leave them out just to advance your points. That would be intellectually dishonest.
My girl Emmylou Harris is on Weekend Edition Sunday talking about her brilliant new box set. She’ll be out here in two weeks for our fantastic free Bluegrass festival. She’s got the great Buddy Miller in the studio with her for the interview. He’ll be out here as well. The preview day is Buddy followed by T-Bone Burnett and then Jeff (not the Hardball guy) Tweedy. Always the best weekend of my year.
I’m sorry PJ… , you can imagine how gleefull I am as the nights WAX. Mwah HaHa. ๐ … … :fist: ARREST! IMPEACH!
The great Marcel Marceau has been silenced.
๐ :gate:
My concern is for the dog. It’s hard to get him out to the park before dark when night comes so soon. Otherwise, I don’t much care, except I guess I wish it was “spring ahead, fall forward,” and they set the clock ahead another hour. What do I care if it’s dark while I’m at work. Oh, I suppose it’s more “dangerous” for the kids going to school, but, on the bright side, after a few generations, we should have a population of people much more adept at not getting run over in the dark. That’s if we actually have a few more generations left, of course.
So, I think I’m figuring out these progressive lenses. You just have to not give a shit that almost everything you see is blurry. Of course, I could do that just as easily without glasses. Another victory for technology over humankind, I guess.
I suppose we should observe a moment of silence for Marcel Marceau, then.

Future righty talking point about European values

Good One PJ re 14, :rofl2: “part of a Grand Wake. ๐
From wikipedia:
Druid, The house on Shelter Island is one story. The real story, however, is that hubby likes to do everything himself, and so he decided to reshingle it himself. He was doing the last peak when the scaffolding upended and dumped him on the ground. So, in many ways, he has been grounded.
re 12 I forgot, since I had to walk Danu only at night when we “landed”, …(too many wee dogs for her to want to eat ) but then people with big dogs started copying and I had to get a large backyard for Danu, whom also runs in Vic. All dogs should run during the day and give wolves and strays (me included) The Night. Mwah HaHa. ๐
Alright, I wasn’t going to go there and just mime mime own bidness because silence is gold, GOLD.
I just hope that mime does not become my meme. It wouldn’t be good for this old  of mime. I would feel emaskulated.
You’ll be safe now. Guess I should get going. Early 49er NFL :omg: game today as they seek their first loss in Pittsburgh and the Seder so I need to get my IM on.
Fred and Vernon, Vernon and Fred I am so glad the two of you are getting along so well :rofl2: :slap: :rofl2: bad boys :spank: ๐
Here’s one for D6 and fred :dancers:
This bit is a little out of line, however.
Additionally, Feinstein is a 74-year-old divorced Jewish woman currently on her third husband WTF! Her second husband died.
Sue P (Vernon is BAD :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: Okay, I got it together (almost). (AND SUE P you are Bad also, since you gave “soup” :rofl2:
Let me know when and if you ever want a horror story to “scare” :omg: hubby regarding falling off roof. Another Story Example … my sister dropped off tree, like we did a zillion times, and landed wrong way on CURB and :shattered: (when a teen) her ankle and foot … just land wrong once. I am thinking of you, that has to endure (as now I have to watch young men think they are invincible (like i thought i was)) — now, I just pace until done. But if hubby REALLY MUST, and sometimes it just is, then

How could it be strictly bluegrass with Jeff (not the Hardball guy) Tweedy?
It’s now called Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. It started as mostly Bluegrass but the mission has broadened. Tweedy wasn’t that far off some years ago.
I probably should have clicked through the link, but I am too lazy. (But evidently not lazy enough to write this response.) thanks
WHT, nada problem. It has always been kind of a joke. It is nice that some millionaire gives it to everyone each year.
Not Hardball, Not Bluegrass
I just got back from animal insanity  . OOOoooOOOooo I am “passing” over soon.
PJ JFi I copied your passing also yet blog was “crazy” and my computer was a “drip” ๐ ๐ .

Sniff, I missed everything because of school then wolves (but so well worth it   ARREST! IMPEACH! If Everyone Cared … Nickelback …
Season premieres of The Simpsons and Family Guy tonight. Family Guy is an hour-long Star Wars parody. I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars movies, so I look forward to lots of references that will fly over my head at warp speed.
KebM,
You might see something familiar on The Simpsons.
My passing? I haven’t passed, yet. Seems like a good idea much of the time, though.
PJ, Sorry, I have full conversations in my mind evidently… the “passing” of (7046) and now we “sit” together to the next “passing” (9016) under Top 20 Posters…I always forget to look ๐ณ then surprise! ARREST! IMPEACH! :dancers: Reclaiming Power of a Wish… It is a Weak Wish since over the Web … Yet one can (OR NOT) Link ones’s little fingers tightly:
Say: Chimney, Smoke, Our (Your) Wish Cannot Be Broke!
Confirm with an enforced Little Finger Link, then release.
Well here’s 5 minutues you’ll never get back, and I think it isn’t a joke.
Yo Bill Gates da bomb!
Druid, thanks for the thoughts. I hope your sister was alright after breaking all those bones. OUCH!
We got back to Brooklyn and hubby now has crutches so he’s a bit more mobile and happier.
