NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER, PRESIDENT AL GORE!!!

Call me a dreamer. So what. Gotta dream big if you’re going to dream.
Today I’m wishing I was off work so I could go to the airport and throw rocks at the Chimpmobile. Chimpy is in town this morning for a lunch to raise money for his Repig butt-buddies. $25,000 a plate.
:fu:
If anything happens, I was at work. I have witnesses. ๐
And WTF is up with the AAR feed? I lost Randi about ten times last night staying at work for overtime (nice interview with Naomi Klein, what I could hear of it), and the Young Turds have gone south three times already this morning. Maybe I finally get to listen to the John Fogerty CD today.
(CNN) — Former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for their work to raise awareness about global warming.
Gore said he was “deeply honored,” adding that “the climate crisis is not a political issue it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity,” according to a written statement.
The former vice president said he would donate his half of the $1.5 million prize to The Alliance for Climate Protection, a U.S. organization founded by Gore that aims to persuade people to cut emissions and reduce global warming.
I feel that there is a slight possibility that Ann Coulter is a performance artist that will burst out laughing and tell everyone how she fooled the media for years. But the key to good performance art is to let clues out as to the game being played. I see some conspiratorial clues:
1. Recently Coulter is reported dating a much older man with plenty of money and not much taste (or bad eyesight) around the streets of NYC.
2. Within the past few days Coulter says on TV that “Jews can be made more perfect”. The Today Show has a story on it this morning.
3.In the great 1950’s movie “Some Like it Hot”, the wealthy Joe E. Brown, when told by cross-dressing Jack Lemmon that he is not a woman, says what classic movie-ending line?
It all ties together if you can answer that last question.
Coultergeist is trying to tell us something.
I support the Draft Gore movement but still wonder if it’s a good idea. He’ll have so many obstacles and the Repugs will surely not help one iota. But they’ll be like that for anyone I spose. Although, if we get Gore past all the voting bullshit(see, he’ll have to deal with stolen elections again) the world may like us again and we would be able to regain our allies. I could see why he wouldn’t want to put himself through that again. Not to mention the level of nastiness is much higher now than it was in 2000.
Kristapea, I am so bad , I have to “LEARN” to put up link… when I do talk/write on something. :smack: Sorry, I have been lectured at before regarding this. :::
It seems that if you open up enough frequency channels and make the download operate in parallel then you can get huge improvements in speed. In other words, there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch. The Koreans probably made a nifty science project.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday that Turkey would not be deterred by the possible diplomatic consequences if it decides to stage a cross-border offensive into Iraq against Kurdish rebels.
“If such an option is chosen, whatever its price, it will be paid,” Erdogan told reporters in response to a question about the international repercussions of such a decision, which would strain ties with the United States and Iraq.
Mychal Bell, the teen at the center of the case of six black students charged with beating a white student in Jena, La., was back in jail Thursday night.

Bell, 17, was convicted earlier this year on a simple battery charge and for property damage in cases unrelated to a Dec. 6, 2006 beating of high school student.
It may not be the Cold War again, but U.S.-Russian relations are getting chilly.

WASHINGTON (CNN) รขโฌโ A source involved in Gore’s past political runs told CNN that he definitely has the ambition to use the peace prize as a springboard to run for president.
But he will not run, because he won’t take on the political machine assembled by Sen. Hillary Clinton, said the source. If the senator from New York had faltered at all, Gore would take a serious look at entering the race, the source said. But Gore has calculated that Clinton is unstoppable, according to the source.
Gore repeatedly denied he has any plans to run again, but this week a group of grass-roots Democrats calling themselves “Draft Gore” took out a full-page ad in The New York Times in a bid to change his mind.

A comprehensive global study of abortion has concluded that abortion rates are similar in countries where it is legal and those where it is not, suggesting that outlawing the procedure does little to deter women seeking it.
Moreover, the researchers found that abortion was safe in countries where it was legal, but dangerous in countries where it was outlawed and performed clandestinely. Globally, abortion accounts for 13 percent of womenรขโฌโขs deaths during pregnancy and childbirth, and there are 31 abortions for every 100 live births, the study said.
snip.รขโฌย
The data also suggested that the best way to reduce abortion rates was not to make abortion illegal but to make contraception more widely available, said Sharon Camp, chief executive of the Guttmacher Institute.
Crime and aborted children are both related to availability of good jobs. Poor people can not afford children or contraceptives or in many cases even the cost of transportation to where free contraceptives might be available.. However, it sounded like we might have a population explosion without abortion.
