Dennis Kucinich will be introducing impeachment charges against Vice President Satan sometime on Tuesday, over the objections of Pelosi. A futile gesture at best, but someone has to speak up sometime. Why not now? GO DENNIS!!!
Too bad it has to start in the House, and not the Senate. I’d like to see a few of our presidential hopefuls have to vote on that, one way or the other. Especially Obama, who will gleefully stand up and talk about his opposition to invading Iraq – when he wasn’t in a position to vote against it, of course – but continues to vote for funding it. And of course he opposed the Kyl-Lieberman non-binding “sense of the Senate” resolution, but couldn’t be bothered to take part in the debate on it, let alone vote one way or the other. And we all recall how he grudgingly voted to filibuster Scalito after much pressure from his constituents, while saying ahead of time that he thought it was a bad idea that wouldn’t work.
Impeachment has to start in the house.. If the house votes to impeach then the trial is in the senate :tap: :tap:
A Vigilance committee would be so much more effective then you would have a predefined outcome and would not have to cope with so many elitist IDIOT MORONS
Chinese oil firm PetroChina has trumped US rival Exxon Mobil to become the world’s biggest firm by market value on its first day of trading in Shanghai.
PetroChina saw its shares nearly triple in early trade from 16.7 yuan to end at 43.96 yuan, giving PetroChina a market value of about $1 trillion (รยฃ480.6bn).
This is almost the twice the $488bn value of oil producer Exxon Mobil.

Well I just this minute found out that I’m the only election board member in my district and as such instead of being the minority inspector I’m now the judge of elections. Unfortunately the county never informed me of this and I am unable to look at any of the election day materials because they are now in the hands of a county sherriff, which means I can’t go over procedures and paperwork until an hour before the polls open.
Did I mention Delaware County is run by the repugs.
pj- Mrs art is out of a job. She’s gotten some work doing planning and management consulting. There may be other similar consulting work she can get in the near future. She needs a laptop. Can you make any recommendations? She will mostly be using the Microsoft Office package, but will also need wireless and multimedia capabilities. She may need to do some moderate amount of data/statistical processing. Is there any way we could find anything for $1,000 or less? Any brands to stay away from? How do we begin to find something reasonably priced, yet high quality, and with good capabilities?

Now all the house needs is its own Blackwater to do anything about it .. :tap: :tap:
Lenovo (formerly IBM) laptops rate pretty highly. The ThinkPads rate the highest, but are on the pricey side (also use those stupid little eraser things for a mouse, which I can’t stand). The 3000 series is a bit more reasonable.
A lot depends on whether you want something small and light, or can deal with something larger. I have a V3000 which works great, but the battery life leaves a little to be desired. I also have Dell Inspiron, which has great battery life and works well (unless you spill a very large glass of wine on it and don’t realize it until it starts beeping in the middle of the night). I’m not a big fan of Dell, personally, but they’ve got some good prices (usually only a year warranty, though).
I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the Sony Vaios, and I’d stay away from them, personally. I also don’t much care for HP/Compaq, though my in-laws have one that seems to work OK.
I think I’d look for a Core2 Duo processor, and at least a gig of RAM (I’d go for 2, personally). A 60 or 80 gig hard drive should bemore than enough, unless you plan on storing a lot of video. That should run anything you’ll need. I would stay away from the Vista OS, as it takes a lot of CPU oomph, and a lot of Video processor.
Of course, don’t forget to look at the Macs, since a lot of people love them (stay away from Leopard for now, as it apparently “has more holes than spots,” but don’t tell the Mac fanboys, or you’ll have to listen to a lot of whining).
Best thing to do is decide what features you want (how large a screen, how much weight, battery life, optical drives, etc), and then do a google product search. As Fred, I think, said, TigerDirect has good prices. Acer gets pretty good marks (as SJ said). NewEgg has some good prices, too, as do ProVantage and Buy.com. And it’s always worthwhile to have a look at Amazon, too.

For anyone interested in Tuesday’s impeachment proceedings, future president Dennis Kucinich will be conducting sort of a conference call tonight at 7:30 PM EST. I say “sort of” because Dennis will be talking and we will be listening. He’ll be discussing what to expect tomorrow, and what we as citizens can do to help.
Go to http://www.dennis4president.com for more information. There’s a number to call to get in on the action, and an access number to give to the operator when you call.
What the hell, you don’t have anything better to do tonight. Granted, it’s the same time as Jeopardy, and the Tournament of Champions starts tonight (god, am I a dweeb), but if I can tape it, so can you. I promise not to tell who wins.
This isn’t totally an exercise in futility. It at least gets impeachment on the table, even if only for a short time. If Pelosi won’t consider it, we have to do an end-around to make it happen. This is it.
