Dropped my goddamn laptop, and it landed right on the power supply connector, basically making the connector explode. I can get the damn thing to charge if I get it in exactly the right position, but any movement screws it up. So, not much to say this morning – or at least not much time to say it before the battery runs out. Have a good one.
Damn, it’s cold this morning. OK, 51 degrees may not seem so cold to those of you in NY and CO, but it’s freezing here compared to what we’re used to. Just last week it was in the 80s every day. Apparently Glenn Beck is right, and global warming is a bullshit leftist conspiracy.

Woke up to snow on the cars today, here. It’s warmed up to a balmy 33 degrees, after an overnight low in the mid twenties (ah, if only I could be my mid twenties again – only not as stupid), on our way to a high of 41 or so. Though they say the wind chill should make it feel 25 or so (personally, I think that wind chill stuff is for wimps; when I was a kid, it was just cold – we didn’t whine about the wind).
It’s been pretty warm here. Should be much cooler by now. The cooler is still kicking on and I haven’t even thought of getting my “winter” cloths out. It’s gonna hit 90 today.

The cat was responsible for the wine spillage, at least in part (though I bear ultimate responsibility). The cat(s) was/were not responsible for the latest incident, other than they are constantly jumping around on top of anything and everything (not to mention what the pudding produce does), which forces me to constantly have to move things around to make them cat proof. In the course of moving the laptop to a different cat-proof location so that I could get up and use the facilities (or get another beer, as the case may be – it’s a vicious cycle), I dropped it.
And they don’t even catch mice. The best they seem to manage is to pull a full mouse trap out of the cupboard and deposit it on the stairs.

You know, I don’t know. I guess their thinking is that if they do anything “far out” they’ll get pounded by the traditional media, which will translate into loss of support of the electorate. My guess is that they’re listening to the same “consultants” that lost the last two presidential elections, which I think is both cowardly and stupid.

Mayor Gavin Newsom said today the city will take legal action against the company or agency deemed responsible for the 58,000 gallons of oil that spilled into the bay after a container ship rammed into the Bay Bridge Wednesday.
Newsom and City Attorney Dennis Herrera also expressed frustration over incorrect information disseminated early on by the Coast Guard about the extent of the spill.
“We’ll be doing everything to make sure that those who are responsible are held accountable and that the costs borne by this will be borne by the appropriate agency or agencies… or individuals or companies that are responsible,” Newsom said.
The damage to city property is still being assessed, and local officials said they are working with federal and regional authorities on the cleanup.
