So, our Governor, Eliot Spitzer, has officially given up on his plan to allow “illegal” aliens to get driver’s licenses. Not too surprising, as it was pretty much a loser issue right from the git-go (though I think the State Republicans suckered him into it by pretending there’d be no objection from them), and kind of an odd thing for him to expend so much political capital on. I’m still trying to figure out why I should be enraged at the idea, personally.
I mean, not having a license doesn’t mean they aren’t here. All it means is we’d know who they are, where they live, that they know how to drive (at least to some extent; mostly, it means they know how to parallel park and do a three point turn), and that there’s a chance the cars they drive will be registered and insured.
But, whatever. I’m sure it’s more of a big deal in NYC, what with the gypsy cabs and all that. Up here? Not so much, I’m guessing. Our illegal aliens are too busy picking apples and grapes and shit to worry about driving around.
So, I wanted to dedicate this video to Farmerkat, Mike Malloy, and their governor, Sonny “Rainman” Perdue, but the fuckers won’t let me embed it. So, I’ll offer this one up, after hearing it on Californication.
It’s kinda disconcerting the way the audience cheers this, though. I think they just don’t get it.
“Our illegal aliens are too busy picking apples and grapes and shit to worry about driving around”
Tancredo’s soon going to be out of a job here. Maybe Spitzer could hire him to guard the border with Canada. Give him a little tin badge and a gun- just make him keep the bullet in his pocket :tommygun:
Of course, as soon as Spitzer dropped the plan, Hillary decided to come out firmly against it.
:billcat: Cheers
Hey! I have a good friend that’s a cross dresser and it’s not because he’s the product of incest He’s just in touch with his feminine side more than most men. And he likes angora.
Comment by Kristapea — November 14, 2007 @ 10:56 pm
I wasn’t speaking out against cross-dressers in general. Who doesn’t like angora? My protest is against hypocrites like Mr. 9/11 who suck up to christofascists despite having skeletons like this in their closet.
So to speak.
Plus, Krista, I’m guessing your friend looks a lot better in drag than Guiliani does. I know we’re not supposed to judge people on appearance, but Rudy is one ugly chick.
Of course, if the breaking story on Judith Regan continues to unravel, I may not need to make fun of Guiliani for cross-dressing. Better to bring attention to possible criminal activity.
Who doesn’t love Ed Wood, for that matter.
Oh, it varies. Generally cat puke and/or hacked up hairballs. Sometimes kitty pudding (though that seems to be getting better).
It used to be that in NY people could get driver’s licenses by learning to drive. There was no need to prove citizenship.
Now that the undocumented can’t get a license, they have disappeared. Problem solved.
Yeah, the cats are not serving their purpose here. What kind of traps? Your basic snappy trap. Always go with the classics. Another poor little mouse bit the dust last night. I wish they’d take the hint and go elsewhere.
Have to go walk dogs! Need :joe: :joe: Good morning.
PJ, don’t you think Alice’s Vidieo is an example which Alice is the extreme example of violence towards women, showing that in the extreme, some women are killed by men who love them?
Also, it heralds and shows men, what happens too easily from the least of abuse to the very worst = :reaper: . Also it is soothing to women that “a man” gets it.
Alice dresses as an extreme example. I would listen to him speak, yet, not so much to his music.
Now, I think that Alice C. is brilliant; however, many of his audience probably just didn’t get it.
Am I giving Alice too much credit? I think not, but I have been “fooled” before. :growl: :fist: A!I!V! :dancers: of :reaper:
You folk are going to make me admit that some country just hits the soul — VERY FEW SONGS.
I looked again on Californication, and couldn’t find it, so I think I am missing a joke. ……….. :joe: A!I!V!
     :joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: 😮 :yuck: :crap: 😯 😯
:reaper: :reaper: Whatever :sheep: le
:yuck: Its Thursday again :sheep: le :tap:
I think Alice gets it. I think many of the teenage boys in the audience didn’t.
Mulder’s daughter’s band played that song at his ex-wife’s wedding reception in the last show (I think it was the last show of the season, but I’m not sure) of Californication, which I just got around to watching last night.
:hot: It’s just way too hot in here today. This sucks.
Usually when the guberment does something free for illegals they are bating a trap for them to walk into.. I think most of them are smarter than that.. They wok in community ways rather than each man for himself like Amerikans do. They are much more :tap: :tap: likely to survive becasue of that too.
Cool. I wonder if they have anything in oak?

Current Temperature at 9NEWS: 24°
I think its headed your direction :cold: :cold:
The evil plan to provide driver’s licenses was supposed to require a valid passport. I kind of wondered how many illegal aliens happen to have a valid passport. I’m sure some people overstay their visas and that kind of thing, but they don’t fit the Lou Dobbs stereotype of the evil Mexican sneaking across the border, spreading disease and stealing landscaping jobs from good hardworking ‘Mericans.
That’s a funny video, PJ. Alice Cooper does a radio show on one of the local stations here. I saw him at the mall once. I wonder if Rob Halford still lives here.

In mountains I used cats and a trap that catches them. It can hold many mice — and one is to let the mice die slowly, HOWEVER, I would put food and water, which I checked “the box” daily and if mice were in then I would travel down or up mountain and release, by opening the top.
Have-A-Heart would only catch one mouse and a different cage is needed for rats — They didn’t work.
The other machine was a killing metal machine, yet by just opening up top, you use it as “living” catching machine. One can purchase it as a “feed and grain and supply store”.
The SNAP Mouse trap is more humane than the slow arduous, horrific deaths.
:growl: :fist: A!I!V! :pirate:
Yeah, I just don’t see myself driving them out to the country every morning before work to release them. I guess I could let ’em loose outside, but something tells me they might be back pretty quick. There’s no way I’d ever use those horrible glue traps or poison.
Things aren’t much better in the UK, I guess (except for the universal healthcare, of course).
But PJ I expected you to drive to the “wilderness” In Your Non Busy Life — shoot (aka gosh) the country is still to close to town., :rofl2: :rofl2: :billcat: :cat:
(It’s just a Joke folks :rofl2: ). (How far away is “doggie” grove — but that brings other possible traumas…..thus SNAP is still better for most towns and cities) 😉 thats why I used your bows since I was showing respect to you PJ, and others who uses the SNAP way.
:fist: ARREST! IMPEACH!VIGILANCE! :fist: 😉 A RAGING Granny salute and salutation
Kristapea, Alice Cooper does a radio show on one of the local stations here. Way Cool 8) 😉 envy 😉 A!I!V!
Tea :joe: Cheers to ALL here. re 16, PJ, I agree with you and thank you for showing the “way of the future” Tres 8) DITTO regarding Oak 😉 … AND IT IS A LAP :yippee: A!I!V!. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It’s off to work I go 🙄 But first I NEED TEA, FRED where’d it go? Oh I forgot to brew :smack:
re 22, Now That Is What I Have Been Talking About! I am livid and shaking with anger. I will make tea, and read for a second time, copy, and “dissect”. I think of CodePinks Benjamin. This does not quiet me. I have a constant Growing horrid feeling and a pit in my gut about this………. :fist: A!I!V! gotta go to work -thanks for that info…..gotta Dance :dancers:
JUDAS PRIEST! I’ve never been much for Metal (snap) but I liked this one from the early days of MTV.
And speaking of Alice, maybe he should just stay out on the golf course and sing his song to OJ while they look for the real killers.
“Besides,” he continued, “when I read the list of people who are supporting Kerry, if I wasn’t already a Bush supporter, I -would have immediately switched. Linda Ronstadt? Don Henley? Geez, that’s a good reason right there to vote for Bush.”-Vincent Damon Furnier.
I’ll bet Linda could roll down from Tucson (or SF) and kick his ass.
So orange is the colour of removing Bush and Cheney from orfice? Sounds like some savvy marketing folks are trying to move some excess inventory after disappointing SF Giants and ‘cuse football seasons and maybe an off Halloween.
Californication‘s season is over so now I can watch the entire season at once.
Happy debate, y’all!
Alice Cooper is a staunch Republican? Oy. And I thought all that death and killing was just a stage act.
And he thinks people “read” the Washington Journal? Or maybe he meant, George Washington’s Journal.
Hey, Bill Clinton just e-mailed me. He says Hillary needs a million bucks by eight o’clock tonight. So, whattya say, guys? Let’s all pony up.
Springsteen’s coming to Rochester in March. Last time I saw him in Rochester (which was over 25 years ago), there was huge snow storm on the way back (lots of fun in my Chevette with the hole in the floor), and we got stuck at a rest area when the NYS Thruway got shut down for a day.
Too bad the tickets are $66.50 – $96.50.
These days that is not a bad price. I’m sure they tack on another $20 or so in service fees. I had supper with my jamband fan friends last night and they had just seen his show here and loved it.
I am pretty much over arena shows now. The last one I saw was Springsteen 6 years ago or so. I was in the rafters but got an opportunity (thanks, Silvio!) to almost sit on the stage for the second night. I retired after that.
I’m so confused regarding Alice, I will NEVER EVER say something nice about him again, if a rethug. :smack:
Californication’s season … I really never knew as a show. (((me:  ))) I have never had cable, especially, after hearing Dire Straits’ song saying my belief. Then to spend 20 plus years (with 2 real wolves and Gawain {a dear dog which is not spoken much of but he and the cats were there also}) in mountains.
Rude = I’ll bet Linda could roll down from Tucson (or SF) and kick his ass. Kick Ass — Yes! “roll down” —
Personally, I think Orange only keeps the “power” and “concept” of Samhain/Halloween when one wears…….yet on colour scheme alone ….. =’s WARNING! … Warning! (not red, green, or whatever) —- People at work {on side of road} ….
ARREST!IMPEACH!VIGILANCE!
But Muldar is X-Files … now I am really confused. 🙄 :omg: A!I!V! I almost feel like Rip Van Winkle , but worth every breath … however, it makes M seem a bit
I just didn’t feel like spelling Duchovny.
😆 😉
Yeah, I’m done with concerts at football stadiums, that’s for sure. My last one was the Dead in Buffalo, way back when. Outdoor amphitheaters are usually OK, but I haven’t been to one of those in years, either. The best place around here is the Landmark Theatre (not part of the Landmark Theatres chain, but an old Loews movie theatre that was nearly torn down and turned into parking) in Syracuse. Seats about 3,000 and is acoustically fantastic, and just very beautiful inside.
But $70 or more is just too much for me to pay (especially times 2). I was planning on shelling out about $80 for two lawn tickets to Roger Waters at the Fingerlakes Performing Arts Center last summer, but they changed the date on me, and I couldn’t make it. I think that’s about the end of that.
I don’t get out to the bars (oh, excuse, me, ‘clubs’) much these days, either.
I guess I’ll settle for concerts on DVD from now on.
A little more Rudy history:
In 1994, according to the New York Times, Giuliani prepared a speech for a reception honoring Ailes in which he wrote, “Roger has played an important role in my own career.” In 1996, Giuliani had an opportunity to repay the favor. Fox News was launching, with Ailes at the helm, and Time Warner, which provided cable service to 12 million homes nationwide, had decided it would not carry Fox News. Time Warner was the dominant cable operator in New York City, meaning that not only would 1.1 million city homes not get Fox, but the fledgling network would go unseen by media powerbrokers in the nation’s media capital.
Three days after Murdoch learned of Time Warner’s decision, a call from Ailes to Giuliani set in motion a series of unprecedented moves in favor of a cable network by the Giuliani administration. As calls and meetings continued between Fox and city officials, including Giuliani, the Giuliani administration reportedly threatened Time Warner executives with the loss of their cable franchise if the cable provider didn’t accept a deal in which the city would give up one of its own government channels so Fox News could take the slot. (Some 30 other cable networks had tried and failed to win channel space on Time Warner.) When Time Warner refused to take the deal, the city announced that it would go ahead with the plan anyway and force the cable provider to carry Fox News. A legal battle ensued.

They tried to make her go to rehab, and I said go, go, GO! :fustrate: What a waste.
In related news, the first album Frank finally gets its U.S. release next Tuesday. She was more or less sober when she recorded the tracks, in case anyone’s wondering.
Alice Cooper might be a Goldwater Republican, They were neighbors and I think Alice played golf with him.
Kristapea , 😉 a bit of :peace: yet hmmm a Goldwater Republican… 8) (I think) :fist: ARREST! IMPEACH! V!
Kevin M, re 41 — I saw earlier but didn’t want to tell you 😉 :nana: A!I!V! mmmmm Tea “drool” :dancers:
Goldwater republicans. Wow, I guess even that looks good at a time when you wish Nixon was president rather than the nincumbentpoop.
K’pea, did you make it to the Goldwater-Miller rally a few weeks ago?
Sgt. Schultz has his head up his A* on this immigration issue. A third order redneck asshole :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
fred, I was just about to say the same thing. The main issue in ’08 and FatH is gonna make sure the Dems get it right. :fu:
and strangely I have been more tolerant of him lately though I know I have problem with his pro-ag statements. His whole diatribe about the Lakers coach’s anti-gay slur was pretty annoying as well.
The Hispanic community unlike the IDIOT MORONS are organized and just waiting for someone to just try and remove them. :tommygun: :tommygun: :tommygun:
The army at the border will be like the war on drugs * 50 :reaper: :reaper:
The usual way Amerikans have learned to solve a problem is the same way they treat themselves for ailments they treat the symptoms and never bother to do anything about the problem itself.
Eventually the disease eats them away from the inside and they turn into protoplasm and are flushed down the drain. :yuck: :crap: :reaper: :reaper:
These talkOfools seem to believe that the national guard is a standing army that just belongs to the states rather than the feds. It is not. It is composed of citizen solders who hope to have a regular job and take time off to do their national guard service. You can’t just keep the national guard on the border . or perhaps you could at a 10- 20 % duty cycle so it would require 5 to 10 times the number of troops active at any one time to maintain the force. That would not be any better than keeping them in Iraq. No one would serve. :tap: :reaper: :reaper:
We actually have more of a problem with India than Mexico with people stealing jobs around here ( Free trade sucks) The farm jobs that many of the Mexican immigrants work have not been worked by Amerikans since the 1950s.. In most Midwestern states agriculture is still the largest industry in terms of dollars. Get rid of the immigrants and the whole Midwest will be heard making a loud flushing noise. :paranoid: :paranoid:
I did not make it to the Goldwater/Miller rally, I had to work that day. I always liked Goldwater. Possibly because he looks like my grandpa.
Talk to me. I want us to hit at least 100 … we have until 2:00 am West Coast Time. :knit: A!I!V! I am *flying* about since I am working but I will check back and answer anything or add to it with you … or JUST read the posts if you folks have a rousing conversation between you. 😀 … A!I!V! :dancers:
I am really stressed about the amount of soldiers committing suicide.
It “haunts”. 🙁 … :fist: A!I!V!
Do I hear 60? 60 is easy … do I hear 75 or 80? Now Dance :dancers: 😉 8) … A!I!V!
Hi, Druid, I’ll do my part.
This was a short week but somehow seemed very long. Perhaps that’s because I had a typical, stupid, boring conference to attend on Tuesday. I did get to finish the crossword, one of my benchmarks for successfully surviving drivel.
Of course the ability to tolerate drivel and to be bored are two of the most important qualities for getting though college.
:rofl2: Sue P,
Of course the ability to tolerate drivel and to be bored are two of the most important qualities for getting though college.
:rofl2: How are big “puppies” (even older “dudes” are puppies to this 108 year old :rofl2: ) treating your ankles?
But isn’t it 11:30 pm your time? 😉 A!I!V! :dancers:
It’s just about midnight, time for sleep (I hope) Sweet dreams, all.
Thank You Sue P for “doing” your part. 😉 :yippee:
Sweet Dreams  :knit: 😉 A!I!V!
I will “see” your one and raise you two. 😉 A!I!V! :dancers:
