Holy shit, it turned into winter while I wasn’t paying attention. Just as well, I guess since there’s a lot to do this weekend. Hopefully we’ll get the tevee mounted and the receiver and speakers installed. I dunno, there’s a lot of thinkin’ involved, and I’m not much for the whole thinkin’ thing. Plus, I have a couple batches of beer that needs to be bottled.
Better get to work.
It’s 7:20 and I’ve been up for an hour. That’s one of the problems of working: the waking hour becomes a habit…for the dogs. They would like to take an early morning walk.
I am trying to instill another habit: late walks on the weekend.
So far I have been a failure. I need more :joe: :joe:
Here’s video talking about another Rudy 9/11 scandal. One you may not have heard.

Police to search for guns in homes
Boston police are launching a program that will call upon parents in high-crime neighborhoods to allow detectives into their homes, without a warrant, to search for guns in their children’s bedrooms.
snip
In the next two weeks, Boston police officers who are assigned to schools will begin going to homes where they believe teenagers might have guns. The officers will travel in groups of three, dress in plainclothes to avoid attracting negative attention, and ask the teenager’s parent or legal guardian for permission to search. If the parents say no, police said, the officers will leave.
snip
Critics said they worry that some residents will be too intimidated by a police presence on their doorstep to say no to a search.
“Our biggest concern is the notion of informed consent,” said Amy Reichbach, a racial justice advocate at the American Civil Liberties Union. “People might not understand the implications of weapons being tested or any contraband being found.”

Maybe next we can have plainclothes citizens going to homes where teenage girls reside, in order to perform gynecological exams to insure that the girls are maintaining abstinence.
Or perhaps door-to-door censors to make sure that our reading material is within “guidelines.” I wonder what would get me busted faster: the book I’m reading now about Guiliani, this month’s issue of Playboy, or my well-worn copy of Bush On The Couch.
That slow drip you hear is the sound of our civil liberties going down a drain leading into a big sewer marked REPUBLICAN PARTY HEADQUATERS.
:fu:
But on a brighter note, OHIO STATE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS!!!

Kevin, which Giuliani bood are you reading?
Well
Our dear secretary of defence Mr gates said that if the congress stops funding the war that he will close all the military installations and stop funding all the defense contractors.
I guess that 450 billion we budget ( as apposed to emergency appropriations) must go to something other than military bases and defense programs. ( wouldn’t that be fraud ?? .. OOPS I forgot these guys make up their own laws :reaper: :reaper: )
and
The Mortgage problem has now apparently made semi affordable housing unaffordable :reaper: :reaper:
the tenants in foreclosed houses have to move out and the people being foreclosed on are able to pay more than the people already living in rental units. :yuck: :crap: :paranoid: :paranoid:
With some 70% of the technical workforce employed by defense industries this decision on the part of Gates will cause all college engineering programs across the nation to tell their potential graduates to major in basket weaving and in the case of local workforce to look more seriously at where that 6 tons of PU went to. :tap: :tap: :reaper: :reaper:
Saturday night liberal radio sucks :rant1: :rant1: :rant1: A Randi Rant rerun :yuck: :crap: :paranoid: :paranoid:

Sue, I’m reading Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Guiliani and 9/11 by Wayne Barrett and Dan Collins. The title sounds a little tabloid, granted, but it’s actually very detailed and highly informative. One of the authors (I think Barrett) has been on Olbermann a few times to discuss Guiliani’s recent doings.
The Democratic candidates need to make time to read this book, because there’s a lot of information in it that even people who follow politics may not be aware of, let alone the general public. If Guliani gets the Repig nomination, the Dem candidate can use this book chapter and verse to make people aware of the kind of things that could happen under a Guiliani presidency, I mean dictatorship.
A lot of the stories we take for granted, like the cross-dressing, marrying his cousin, screwing around with Judy Nathan in his Building 7 hideaway while he was still married, are completely off the radar of the average voter in Florida, and we have a lot of transplanted New Yorkers down here.
People still believe this guy is some kind of hero. Time for them to watch us blow the lid off.
:fist:
This seems to assume a lot about elitist IDIOT MORONS like they can read :fustrate: :fustrate: :paranoid:

Marc and Sam VODCast from Tuesday should be here
Well, we schlepped the new teevee downstairs & got it hooked onto the wall bracket & it hasn’t fallen off yet. But PJ has been down there dragging cables through the drop ceiling & drilling holes in the paneling (yes, it is a 1960’s “finished” basement in need of lots of refurbishing which is a slow process — but at least it’s not cinderblock bare). We watched a couple of non-HD DVDs that looked pretty good. The sound system isn’t hooked up and the teevee sound was actually very good. PJ was able to get picture from the satellite teevee but no sound.
I’m sure he’ll enjoy this teevee thing more than I do. I could live without TV, especially all the stupid commercials. Thank God for replay TV and PJ because if it weren’t for replay & commercial wipe out, I would not be watching the Daily Show, or Colbert or My Name is Earl (and I had a real life Earl in the hospital the other day, only he wasn’t at the point of working on fixing his Karma yet) or 2-1/2 Men or The Office, etc. etc. There is actually lots of good stuff out there on teevee that I wouldn’t know about if it weren’t for PJ’s being a teeveeholic. Art reflects life big time but you just have to ge careful to stay away from the brain melting shit that gets spewed from commercial teevee.
When I was working as a hospice & home care nurse, I was always astounded at how the damn TV was blasting during 2/3rds of the home visits I made and how people’s brains were getting sucked into the TV. I went back into hospital nursing several years ago when I needed better insurance for my son’s needed surgery and during one evening shift, I had a patient whose doctor came in to speak with him. He was like a zombie staring into the TV screen. His wife was in the chair next to the bed and was also transfixed on the TV screen. The doctor walked in & said “Hello, I am Dr. Ramalamadingdong (or whateverthehellhisnamewas) and I am here to talk to you about your prognosis”. The patient moved his head to look past the Dr. so he could keep looking at the TV screen and his wife just kept staring at the screen. Then the Dr. waved his hand in front of the guy’s face and said more forcefully “HELLO!! We need to talk about why you are here and what we need to do!!”.
It was as though this patient was in a fog — he looked at the doc in a dazed kind of way and his wife just kept staring at the TV. The doc & I looked at each other & I just shrugged, thinking “this is fucking scary if it reflects what this country has turned into”. I walked up to the bed & took the liberty of turning the TV off so that the Dr. could talk to these people about why the patient was in the hospital and what they needed to do. It was just really weird how zombified these people were. 😮
But the new teevee has a beautiful picture & the high def game program PJ has on there has awesome resolution. Too bad it’s all about blowing shit up. I really am tired of all the blowing shit up stuff. Can’t we all just get along and not have to kill each other if we don’t agree? Just go to seperate corners of the room or house or whatever? :tap: :slap:
:tommygun: has to stop.
All May Be Gone Now … But Good Evening…It’s raining. And I Am working ….. and might be actually drinking in a bit — and for once NOT TEA :omg: :fist: A!I!V! I am glad Raging G and PJ “schlepped” :rofl2: — “Are We Having Fun Yet?” OnlineCurrent users online: 1 :dancers:
I’m not sure why a video game that involves “blowing shit up” really has anything to do with real life. I guess it’s a guy thing. I don’t equate it with real life, any more than I think watching Tom and Jerry as a kid made me violent. In fact, I don’t think you can find more of a pacifist than I am, but I can tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not. Just like I can tell the difference between what time it really is, and whatever the clock is set at. Once I know the clock is set 15 minutes fast, it no longer has the power to get me going faster. I’d rather know what the time really is, and then react accordingly
So, I guess I should be ashamed of myself for enjoying teevee and video games (and of course sports). I realize I’m a terribly shallow person, but, well, too bad. It’ll all be over soon enough anyway.
🙁 A posting at Sederville affected me. There was a mass of articles (by someone OTHER than poster) about Global Warming. There were some of us singing (I was 13 and 14 w/o out any relatives with me) and (then) peaceably protesting ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING — I N t h e LATTER 60’S AND 70’S, THEN IN ’80’S, WITH Major PROTESTS. And they call Benjamin RADICAL — How Dare This 👿 Adm. :fist: NEVER. Now You Can’t Even Raise One’s Voice Without Being Called A Terrorist. “Something will give.” I should’t write here about it. I should focus on 1 person and 1 “Action” that WILL bring results. 🙁 … This is how I became a “misanthrope”.
:dancers: as Romerica Burns … :fist: A!I!V! :dancers: “Are We Having Fun Yet?”
PJ, I was tested in the early 80’s on similar (but with tanks) video’s at ‘SC. I was also #1 for one summer — even at the Cliff House Arcade in SF, in CA on Asteroids {Tres Cool}
but Video Games and … we are/were part of the military “testing” and now we see all those f___ing “games” at work to to get more people to enlist.
IfWhen I finish, I just hope poeple will see that “we the people” are just LAB RATS. All part of a strategy. Now, I am working on my own strategy. 🙄 I just hope there is Time …A!I!V! :dancers: BTW the test was Military and Pyschological Testing. ….. (edit)
