I do my fair share of pissing and moaning about life, but, truthfully, I have a pretty good thing going here, and have plenty to be grateful for – today, and every day of the year. This year, I’m particularly happy that I have my doggy home, safe and sound. Wouldn’t have been the same without him this year. I’m happy I have a job (even though I don’t especially like it), unlike far too many people who are facing the holiday season wondering where they’re going to get the money to pay the rent and put food on the table – never mind being able to scrounge up enough to buy a present or two for their kids. I’m thankful for my wife, who inexplicably puts up with me, pain in the ass that I am (I think it has something to do with keeping the Internet going). And I’m really grateful that I live in a day and age when I can sit in bed surfing the Internet on a computer that’s something like 1,000 times faster (and 15 times lighter) than what they used to get to the moon and back, and be connected to people and places all over the world, whom I’d never have “met” otherwise – like you guys.
So, here’s wishing all my virtual friends (and your non-virtual families) a very Happy Thanksgiving (even if it does fall on the 44th anniversary of the JFK assassination) .
We’re #1!
hey and pj is number 1!!!!! you arent going to try and get the dont touch the sand achievement are you? anyway im going to grandmas later!
:pirate: :yippee: :pirate: PJ IS ALPHA, PJ :dancers: is #1 :pup: :pirate:
BTW PJ, copied your sad artilcle to add to research … 🙁 🙄
There’s plenty to grouse about, especially as we live under Bushco, and we do detail our displeasure here, everyday. But, I have much to be thankful for. And, I’m going to spend today with the people for whom I am most thankful: hubby, my children and grandchildren. While they’re not perfect, they are just fine with me.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, that your travels are safe, and those of you who have to eat with right-wing relatives and inlaws manages to enjoy your dinner anyway.
One of Sam’s callers yesterday suggested that you tell those rethugs that you would support a Republican but that they don’t support the troops and then detail all the disgusting stuff they do to those poor troops. He claims it works like a charm.

Good Morning and Happy T Day to all you lil Seditionists. I heard Sammy yesterday and he was awesome! One rethug was settin’ them up and Sammy was knockin’ them down like ducks in a shooting gallery.

I thank this blog for truly the first for me. :hubba:
(I did go on an overseas once, years before coming here – only to show how True Americans truly are and not the negative voice of a troll. Since 5yrs, I seem to have no problem confronting a troll – then I left that site (but lurking a wee bit to make sure troll no longer “visited.) Then Marc’s site (which I never posted) then came here on December 16 when Marc’s show said no. Thank You PJ. /|\
& Thank You RAGING Granny for you and ALL you do. /|\
Cheers :alc:
Although I am not super quick, again, this site has assisted me “To Get In Step” with this computer :omg: WORLD and to become again a multi-tasker extraordinaire and RESPONDING to others. (Eek. Talk, and I no longer in 30’s. Everytime I have to leave home when back online here I exclaim SAFE, since still a misanthrope.)
Thank You, PJ for this Weird Wacky World.
Kristapea, and early ’80’s 😯 8) HaHaHaHaHa sniff 😉 A!I!
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, the top commander in Iraq shortly after the fall of Baghdad, said this week he supports Democratic legislation that calls for most troops to come home within a year.
His comments come as welcomed ammunition for the Democratic-controlled Congress in its standoff with the White House on war spending. This month, the House passed a $50 billion bill that would pay for combat operations but sets the goal that combat end by Dec. 15, 2008. The White House threatened to veto the measure, and Senate Republicans blocked it from passing

Conservatives have to be some of the dumbest assholes on the face of the earth.. One has to wonder how they managed to “make” it..or perhaps it was only their Orwellian side that “made” it. :reaper: :reaper:
They are rich and powerful and they pass it on down to their dumb ass progeny.
By the way, those are qualities(being rich and powerful by birth) that are not earned and are, therefore, not deserved.
James Carville
Pennsylvania .. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between… lets see what Andy has to say about that. 😮
I know of a lot of people who call themselves conservatives who are neither rich or powerful but hold all the ideals of someone who is.
There was his independent druggist I knew who was forced out of business in the 1970s by all the Pharmacies that begin to appear in the super markets. The decline in his business was rather rapid so he sold out to some one from out of sate and showed them only his income history for the last 7 years carefully omitting the most recent two years. Some time later when the new owner had gone bottoms up he was heard gloating about what a dumb ass the buyer must have been … it would seem that just being an ass qualifies you to be a conservative. :gate: :omg: :jason: :jason: :fist:
….and be connected to people and places all over the world, whom I’d never have “met†otherwise – like you guys.
Awwww. :pup:
Happy turkey day everyone! I’ll be driving to my brother’s today and it looks like a packed house, his in-laws; my niece is bringing a couple of friends from college ( did I mention she goes to Georgetown????) my nephew and the one relative everyone tries to not bring up in polite conversation…me.
I’m certainly thankful for all my friends here. The ones I’ve met, which is just Melina so far, and the ones I haven’t.
:jesus:
Pennsylvania .. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between… lets see what Andy has to say about that.
To my shame Fred that’s actually just about right. Central Pa. has some of the highest klan activity of anywhere in the country. The only thing that offsets this is the population density around Philly and Pitt counterbalances the Rethugs in the rest of the state.
This newest version of RealPlayer ( for the PC at least) allows one to record what they are playing off the internets to a library. One will have to investigate further. :tap: :tap:
Further PC investigation :omg: .. :dancers: of :reaper: A!I!V! The Fray
Happy illegal immigrants day (as Sammi was putting it yesterday) :rofl2: to all you illegal immigrants past and present. Thanks pj for sharing your treehouse.

Plight of the huddled masses: A hard time for Thanksgiving
As America celebrates its great national holiday, millions of poor families face a cold and hungry festive season.
(snip)
America’s obsession with energy independence from Middle East oil may be to blame. The country’s farmers have brought in the greatest corn harvest since the Second World War, but their surpluses which once were bought by the government and sent to food banks are no longer available. Instead the corn is turned into heavily subsidised ethanol and less land is available to grow food.
And the corn syrup that turns up in almost every product found on a US supermarket shelf is in short supply. A cheap dollar means that food exports are booming and a crippling two-year drought in the south has left fruit and vegetables withered and useless.
Unnoticed by most Americans, as they drop off their old canned goods and surplus food at schools and church halls for the Thanksgiving food drives, the entire system may be heading for collapse

Can you imagine what it would be like with ten media outlets each with its own spin on a subject.. What is the IDIOT MORON supposed to think ??? :alc: :40: :rant1:

Folks in my 30’s I did major organic feasts for many, especially reletives and friends and folks with nowhere to go … but I am 108 now but still with a husband (kinda – especially on my side, since a bit cavalier with issues) 10 years younger so I am Very Proud of what I look like — and I am not perfect (any longer — I was measured by pros :rofl2: :rofl2: 🙄 😉 LBH :rofl2: — not ever really and care more for eco and animals and the hungrey reigns supreme) with many ex-strays and strays (human can be strays, but not for me now, but I give to the FOOD for People store.
If anyone anywhere has sorrow=A!I!V! 😉 I need music.
Awwwww come on folks — I HATE being the last post.
I was down cooking. Please post and let me know if last sentence. I won’t answer, as the way I was taught.
I knew it was Kuchinich (sp) the reason I do not trust is him. Without knowing I could tell it was him by his acid tongue. I do not mind damning or putting on probation the rethugs. But Kuwhaterver sounds mean, not tough. I must look up his sign. I heard he, in the past before running, voted out against things I appreciate. A!I!V! Let’s Get this party started.
But I like what Ku says :smack: .
The next I post will be about … sorry, I was “getting ready to again speak before City Hall”. The statement is: Why it is okay to cook ALL Turkeys NOW. A!I!V!
I am having a SEND problem again :smack: …so if double or triple I will erase (if I can –sometimes I can’t).
Let’s have elves — Ku and Wes Clark are wee ones.
Awww Lucino (he sung this 🙁 ) I like it – 1 minute … wow…
I never listen to Eddie so it is NEW for me.
A grand woman talking about the love  of Kuchinich. WOW.
ARREST! IMPEACH & Gore (I have a plan :rofl2: )
Let’s Get The Party Started :joe: Pink Live at Wembley
Australian Shephard won best in show, and I found myself so happy. I use (and a fiance) took care of Skipper Key (sp) … I forgot how to spell. It was in my early 29’s. :smack:
I think I am talking to myself. 🙁 :omg: :dancers:
It is the Ol’ Mircle on 34th Street …… 🙁 :dancers:
Yea :dancers: A!I!V! :pup: :cat: :billcat:
Does anyone know the (middle American) Congresswoman that was on Eddie’s? I have to finish cooking :omg: and watch Mircle…
BTW I think all PRO dogs should “show” amongst themselves and only have “Muts” & “Strays” Dogs and Cats. Professional Dogs and irresponsible people caused all the straydogs. :pirate: A!I!V!
But I must admit I smiled when I saw all final “show” dogs and the winner…an Australian Shepherd.
And Thank You Sean M for additional posts, even if alone. Turkeys done. :yippee: Great Smells … But Valerie Plame is on. :fist: I still have to write about THE Importance of the Turkey. 😉 :dancers: (not now).
CHEERS ALL ❗ TO EVERYONE IN HAVING A GREAT DAY OF THANKS ❗ *poof*

Comedy Central has a Maron special scheduled for tomorrow morning. I think it’s at 8:30 AM EST, which would be 5:30 PST for you folks in the West, so set those DVRs before you pass out tonight.
I tried to confirm the time, but the Comedy Central website keeps crashing on me, and I just finished off a plate of leftovers and a bottle of wine, so making it to the end of this post is going to be a major accomplishment for me. (Not to mention making it to the end of that last sentence. The first sign of a drunken English major – run-on sentences.) 😀
The Maron special might be one I’ve taped before, but what the hell. If anyone needs their funnybone tickled further, HBO Comedy is running a Curb marathon overnight and well into Friday.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! Time for a beer, now that the wine is gone. Diversity is a good thing.
:alc: :40:
Thanksgiving is over. Food was good. Nice to see the family. Glad to be back home.
It’s getting quite windy. better go walk the dogs before it gets worse.
USC leads Arizona State at half time, 27-17

I hope everyone is having an OK Thanksgiving.
I read something about the first Thanksgiving being, like, 50 or so years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth with the Spanish in Augustine, Florida or something. I’ll have to find the link.
I feel a turkey coma comin’ on  .
