I had something really interesting and prophetic that I was gonna write about this morning. But I forgot what it was. Well, that’s not true. I remember what it was, but it’s gonna take a lot of time to get it out of my head, into my fingers, and onto the computer. And then it probably wouldn’t turn out to be very interesting or prophetic after all. So, fuck it. I’ll just say, have a nice Saturday.
:cold:
I’m up! :joe: :joe: Trying to get ready to drive back to the City. It’s raining AGAIN. It has been a gray landscape for weeks. Even the colors of the houses are struggling not to seem gray.

Hey Sean, once I get through HL2 Episode 2, maybe I’ll get back on XBOX Live again to play Team Fortress. I’m still not very good, though (if I could just stop crouching when I’m trying to move forward, it would be a big help).
No it isn’t. It’ the Cancer Man from the X-Files.
We just got back from the vet. The biopsy is back and it is cancer BUT, she says it is a very slow growing cancer that she has seen treated successfully. She is not one to recommend treatment where it is futile or the treatment so harsh as to make the animal’s life awful. So, if she says it can be treated, that’s a very hopeful thing.
The knot in my gut has loosened a bit.
Minnie, of course, is oblivious and seems to be recovering from her surgery well.
Now, Druid, how many posts per day do we need?
The Pope has ordered his bishops to set up exorcism squads to tackle the rise of Satanism.
Vatican chiefs are concerned at what they see as an increased interest in the occult.
They have introduced courses for priests to combat what they call the most extreme form of “Godlessness.”
Each bishop is to be told to have in his diocese a number of priests trained to fight demonic possession.

I think they should concentrate their efforts on Chaney, first. Let’s see if they can turn him into a human being.
Sounds like the services of Arlen Specter are needed in Pakistan right about now. Or Jerry Seinfeld.
First Sue P. I am joyfully sad , yet with peace for all those affected by Minnie and you. My Female Rat, one of Dharma’s Gems, Diamond has the same thing on the opposite leg – and they do not operate on rats. It is To Stressful on Diamond’s body. Karma (father), dying of same thing curled up and went to sleep after many moons of Active Life./|\
I’ll be back a bit later Sue P., 😳 I was going to delete but accidentally hit submit. 🙄 ….. :pirate: A!I!V!
PJ, looks like you are part of a long American tradition:
Ancient Pueblo Indians brewed their own brand of corn beer, a new study suggests, contradicting claims that the group remained dry until their first meeting with the Europeans.
Archaeologists recently found that 800-year-old potsherds belonging to the Pueblos of the American Southwest contained bits of fermented residue typical in beer production.

Soupy, best of luck with Minnie. I know how hard it is to have a friend that’s ailing (even if they are – thankfully – oblivious to it all).
Maron v. Seder live on New Year’s Day at 1 PM EST, 10 AM PST, usual places. Maybe it can be called the Porridge Bowl.
Yep. Every civilization since the Sumerians in Mesopotamia about 10,000 years ago has brewed beer, (the Sumerians are considered to be the first beer brewers). :40:
Beer Sumerian
Anchor was way out in front of the microbrew beer movement. Owner Fritz Maytag (one of those Maytags) also traffics in highly regarded blue cheese bearing his name.
Each bishop is to be told to have in his diocese a number of priests trained to fight demonic possession.
Comment by Sue P — December 29, 2007 @ 12:02 pm
Maybe the bishops should spend more time training their priests to stop possessing young boys. :pope:
Actually, there was microbrew way before they invented to the term microbrew. Used to be, every community had tons of breweries. For instance, by the late 19th Century there were about 40 breweries in Syracuse alone. Then – much like everything else – the smaller breweries got stamped out by the big boys, who could mass produce beer at cheaper prices due to their larger economies of scale.
Never mind that the beer they produce sucks.
So, we lost all those wonderful local and regional beers that offered variety, craftsmanship, and freshness.
What’s old is new, of course, and the microbrew revolution is coming back to fill the void. I, for one, can’t stand that cheap swill from the major breweries anymore.
OK, I guess it should have read ” microbrew revival” but Maytag gets a lot of credit, at least around here.
President Bush may soon have a new reason to avoid left-leaning Vermont: In one town, activists want him subject to arrest for war crimes.
A group in Brattleboro is petitioning to put an item on a town meeting agenda in March that would make Bush and Vice President Cheney subject to arrest and indictment if they visit the southeastern Vermont community.
“This petition is as radical as the Declaration of Independence, and it draws on that tradition in claiming a universal jurisdiction when governments fail to do what they’re supposed to do,” said Kurt Daims, 54, a retired machinist leading the drive.
As president, Bush has visited every state except Vermont.

Oh, I wasn’t intimating that what you said was incorrect. I was mostly lamenting the fact that there are no longer 40 breweries here anymore.
I just remember when I moved here in ’73 there was a new world of beer selection we did not have at UVa. The big thing there was if someone came back from skiing in Colorado with a trunk full of Coors. I am sure Macaca Allen had his own arrangements but I did not run in those circles. Here there was a local brew from Anchor they would not even allow to ship very far. There were even a few little brew your own businesses. Then things started to take off and microbrewing took off  .
Sue P. ( don’t blame me- Soup P :rofl2: – it is better than Dope P (for you know who :rofl2: )))) okay I am done :rofl2: :rofl2:

Now the other story regarding the Pope/Bishop is VERY CLOSE TO MY SPIRIT. The Pope is sending out different Proclamations and Decrees to Arch B’s & B’s…..especially one regarding “stalking” to Proselytize those on the 2nd Life Venue. For now many moons (year Plus- maybe 2 now)I have monitored from afar — since I must find tTIME to LEARN HOW To Do SOMETHING besides just fly in SAME OLD Punk Garb (cuz I do not know how to change my “personae”. :smack: I want to open a “Shoppe” so anyone can walk in to see other ways To See, To Get To “the other side” To Show there are MANY DIFFERENT BELIEFS. I did “find” a great rug to sit in the woods, if I knew how 2 sit :smack: . I have a new “Hope” for 2nd Life , I hope… … A!I!V!
re 27 … They both, the :reaper: Duo, have avoided Vermont since this “Idea” has been in the works awhile. :rofl2: and I am thinking am I getting external enough (AGAIN :omg: ) to get something like “that” decree for here. :fist: :dancers: A!I!V!
re#29: I came to Colorado when I graduated HS in 67. We were going to go ‘camping’ and live off the land fishing. We stopped in Boulder and bought a case of Coors which wasvery special. We had choclate bars, coors- no water and no food…just our fishing equipment. We drove up to Rocky Mountain Park and hiked about five miles up a steep trail to ‘camp’ next to a lake. We had no water, just beer 😯 Soon after sunset, mother nature let us know we should have some water :barf: We tied a tent around a tree, were too sick to fish and ate some choclate. Took us all day the next day to make it back to the car still with no water!
We were idiot teenagers drinking Coors with no water! :tap:
Tuesday there will be grown-up idiots jumping into Boulder Reservoir in swimming trunks. Expected overnight low is 4 degrees F 😮

Because the bill has so much in it for veterans and active members of the Armed Forces, Bush apparently doesn’t dare sign an affirmative veto. Instead, he’ll pretend it… just went away on its own.
But this bill was presented to the president for his signature on December 19th. It’s been eight days since then, not counting Sundays as the Constitution outlines. Seven if you give an extra day for Christmas. Hasn’t been ten days yet.
Not only that, but you may recall that the Senate has remained in session all this time explicitly to prevent trickery like this. The most oft-cited reason was to prevent recess appointments, but the pro forma sessions — the most recent of which was held today, yes, the very day Bush claimed there was no session — also serve to avoid adjournment, and therefore the pocket veto.
But not in Bushworld. In Bushworld, these sessions don’t count. Because he says so.
And if Bush thinks the Senate’s sessions don’t count, what’s stopping him from making recess appointments?
How much more abuse can this Congress stand?

My Colorado encounter: I was with a dear man, whose older brother were closely connected to Coors. 🙄 The father was also connected, but forgot how  … There was this weird “tunnel-vision” regarding COORS. Why? It was :yuck: …well, it was called “pee-water”. I hear “those be fight’n words”. :slap: :rofl2: :spank: :rofl2: His parents were from Colorado Springs. Yes, I hear is beautiful. He went to I forget which other name now the school is called — but it had 2 wonderful LIONS in front of the Fine Arts School, in SF  . Why does President Bush persist in his war on America? Frist, Hastert and Lott have called a cease fire and left the field of battle. Why can’t the Ex-Governor of Texas? He has done enough damage to our once great society for a whole generation of Republicans.
I think the deal with the “myth” of Coors beer was that some students from Ohio State where they drink beer by the liter or two at a time came to Colorado and just two glasses of Coors put them under the table.. so Coors was somehow magic .. of course you could only buy Coors in like a five state area around Colorado so it was a great thing to vacation in Colorado and take a case or two home.. Of course if you took it back to Ohio drinking the whole case maybe made you puke but did not put you under the table.. the “myth” might have had more to do to do with the 5280 feet thing .. :alc: :40: :yuck: :crap: :omg:

What are you talking about?! Coors is mostly water. Oh, wait, it’s mostly horse PISS! :yuck:
I think the Justice Dept belongs under the congressional branch of government but that is about as likely to happen as public financed elections.. unless of course…. :reaper: :reaper:
OK, been here before but always classic to me
Drinking Coors is like making love in a canoe (paraphrasing Monty Python)
Clear creek which flows through Golden Colo where the brewery is drains the Central City/Blackhawk and Idaho Springs mining districts so it flows a strange color of slimy green ( algae with coper sulfates) most of the time.. Coors has a cooling pond where they dam up the creek making a yucky green lake. It makes one think twice about the “Made with Rocky Mountain spring water” claim… but… Typically one does not drink Coors for the taste at least not at 5280 feet. :alc: :40:
I think they encourage you to recycle the waste water caused by excess Coors consumption.. It supposedly tastes better than the beer in some cases. :tap: :tap: :billcat: :alc: :40:
Well, I’m drinking one of my top 2 favorite beers from Oregon, Black Butte Porter :40:
After dinner its Gallo Brothers time.. bottled in Modesto Calif so it probably hasn’t seen a GBTX tank car. 😮 :billcat: :alc: :alc: :40:

For better or worse, the first 10 or so years I lived here I went through the Coors plant (actually a pretty cool tour). The water doesn’t come from Clear Creek but from some deep springs underneath the Coors plant. That said, probably most of the Coors drank on the east coast was bottled in (West Virginia?) with Smokey Mountain water. They make some sort of sludge starter syrup :barf: here (don’t ask- I wouldn’t want to know) and then send it by railcar to the east coast where they add the water. Molson-Coors is in talks to merge with Miller (could it get any worse?) and rumors are that the whole thing could be moved out of Golden to ……? I think Miller is made in Texas :barf: :barf: :reaper:
I just think that the People with the Majority behind them should have Congress — which MUST OBEY WE THE PEOPLE — take down this evil 👿 lying government and IMMEDIATELY DRAFT GORE as PRESIDENT (which he is ) and Edwards as VP (because he wanted to fight for WE THE PEOPLE and besides it is now proven he won VP ) and put into IMPORTANT ROLES Clinton and Obama to get into position to RUN one day for President and VP. A!I!V!
If you want some great Colorado beer, anything by New Belgium brewery in Fort Collins is :yippee: My favorite is 90 Shilling

New Belgium is great as is Deschutes in OR.
Glad to know fred loves his Gallo.
Oh Gosh, is someone drinking :alc: YEA! I don’t mean to but I only drink when someone else does — although I always “mean” to — Red or Margarita … I will think on it whilst having more Tea :joe: and Water :40:  . Probably Margarita, since I do not want to waste red wine and Monday I am having Champagne and Mimosas :dancers:
(ends up 1/2 glass of something – but I am going to try to relive what I did a several weeks ago, when I drank a bottle of Rose :omg: but was really less than 3/4 of a bottle, yet from Beringer {Yum}… but 😮 he is several hours away from my Time — so, I guess I MUST go get drink now :rofl2: … :reaper: :dancers: A!I!V!
