David Lane is a bulldog lawyer. He represented Ward Churchill and is a protege of Gerald Spence. There’s some mighty fine defense lawyers here in Christolrado with some big balls. Cheney’s stooges couldn’t win this one if we had a fair system. :tap:

Error  Sorry, I think I have to go shopping for a Mouse…Appropriate, Mystery Mouse died. Yea. Sardonic humour
Good morning. :joe: :joe:
I read about the Chaney and the secret service guys arresting Steven howard a couple of days ago, but I can’t remember where. The story is a bit complicated so I don’t think the TV will report it.
It’s a shame people can’t feel an equivalent amount of sorrow for all the US soldiers and Iraqis who have died needlessly – combined – as they seem to feel for this Heath Ledger guy.
The local television stations covered this surprisingly well – even when it happened. Actually, the whole thing was caught on tape (if I remember right) which should settle the whole thing. The guy was arrested minutes after the alleged incident. :slap:
    :joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: :joe:    :joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: 😮 😮 :yuck: :crap: :paranoid: 😯 😯

M$M media for IDIOT MORONS
The name Heath Ledger meant absolutely nothing to me when that was on the news last night…. :tap: :tap:
The
stock marketcrap shoot didn’t rally very well even after all that free money was made available..I hope investors are beginning to realize that investing in the SBR is like being a slum lord. Today may be interesting :reaper: :reaper:It would be nice if they forced Cheney to appear as a witness. Just ‘cuz he really hates that kinda thing. But he should be held accountable for sicking his dogs on this guy.
When I saw the name Heath Ledger, I thought it was a country music star.
The problem with mighty good lawyers is they require some mighty good $$$ to keep them on your case. How long can you afford to pay out $400 – $1000 dollars an hour.. :reaper: :reaper:
I dunno, foreign markets rallied. Every time I hear doom and gloom predicted for the US Market, it seems to tick up again. The rich people very rarely lose much, and I never want to retire anyway, so who cares?
Nothing a little rapture won’t fix.
I have yet to see how these checks and balances Ms Rant has been blabbing about for the last two years work either.. Is government in the SBR as much of an Orwellian construct as the economy was.. :tap: :tap:
All I know is that since the first of December a loaf of cheap bread at the Kroger has gone up nineteen cents. ( 19 percent) The Doritos went out of site ( like up 79 cents).. even lettuce went up
It’s a lawsuit, so he’s probably working on a percentage of the award. No win, no pay. Even if not, a lot of times lawyers will work pro bono, either because they believe in the cause, or because they figure that being associated with a high-profile case will be good for their practice. And when you’re suing Dick Cheney, you can probably even raise money for your legal fees. Hell, I might even send the guy a buck or two to see ’em stick it to Dick.

re:13
The Public Defenders office in Colorado is one of the nation’s best. Dave Wymore, the guy who just got the innocent guy out of prison (Peters?)for a murder he didn’t commit, is one of the best and is the head of the State Public Defenders office. David Lane has done plenty of pro-bono work. Colorado Public Defenders go to Texas to get innocent people off death-row because the state of texass appoints the worst drunks they can find to defend prisoners.
A lot of investment in the
stock marketcrap shoot is by investment funds like PERA ( public employees retirement Association) and state and local retirement funds as well as Individuals 401ks … The rich sort of dabble ,, a million here a million there in all sorts of speculative ventures as well as the market. Owning land and property seemed to be a good way to go until they mortgaged it at 4% to buy stocks they hoped would go up by 10%.. I could see how some of them might end up in a world of hurt. :tap: :tap:To be defended by the Public defenders office you yourself have to be in a world of hurt.. Most people ( even those with a steady job making 25k a year) don’t qualify for defense by the PD’s office. Most county PD offices are also swamped with drug and petty crime cases.. Thats something else we need public financed law for all the people.. :tap: :tap: :reaper: :reaper:
All depends on what time frame you’re looking at. Look at the 5-day Dow Jones Index, and it’s scary bad we’re all gonna die. Look at it all-time, and it’s Happy Days are Here Again (or still).
Just depends on your perspective. If you’re a regular person and need to retire today, well, you’re fucked. If you’re a billionaire with lots of investments, you can just sit and watch the fun. I mean, it’s all just on paper anyway.
Worst that can happen is you dump a company or two and put a few thousand schmucks out of a job. No sweat. Of course, when they can’t pay their mortgages, that might be a bit of a bummer, but what the hell, you gotta have some stuff to take a loss on, so you don’t have to pay taxes.
Well, yeah, in a criminal case, you’re screwed without a good lawyer. Just hope they never decide to come after you for something.
When you throw inflation at around 3.5 % per year on normal things and 5 – 8 percent on things like cars and housing in there it doesn’t look quite as rosy.. I suppose its better to make 2% over inflation on your investment than just stay even.. Thats one reason the Bushivecs don’t want the Cost of living index to really show what is going on. :tap: :tap:
Poor still suffering from last recession (which “ended” in 2002)

=================================
I guess the “poor” are those making less than 100k a year. :reaper: :reaper:
Isn’t it amazing how all this ‘bad” news comes out at election time.. It must assume the politicians know how to read or if it is intended for the rest of us perhaps the author has an investment in a manufacturer of anti anxiety drugs :tap: :tap:
I think I saw something once where the inflation adjusted Dow was roughly 1.65% over time (with lots peaks and valleys). So, that’s better than nothing. In fact, if you bury a hundred bucks in a jar in back yard, you’ll lose – to use your figure – $3.50 a year. So on average, you’d actually be $5.15 ahead in that year vs. doing nothing.
Unfortunately, if you can’t just leave that money sitting, there, waiting to not get too screwed, then you’re out of luck. Cash it in at a valley, and you’re losing big-time.
And most of us can’t even just bury our money in the back yard, since we have to do things like buy food and pay the mortgage. I guess maybe you’re actually making out that way, since you’re pawning off that rapidly declining-in-value cash on some unsuspecting schlub.
The Euros I have squirreled away in my sock drawer are different. Those babies are raking in the bucks.
Morning, Folks. I think Brian made an early appearance on Stephanie this AM.
MP3 of yesterday’s Maron v. Seder. It was a little tough on chicks. There are a number of MP3 links here.
Well, I had gone to Maron v Seder and didn’t work, but since you spoke I went back and eventually was able to hear, 8) but no video? Does anyone here get the neat pixs? A!I!V! If my mouse continues to act Cool …. kinda 🙄
re the VOD at Maron v. Seder
The guy who is supposed to be doing this says that the VODeos will be up and running soon.
Cum grano salis.
MP3 link was a download and not a stream.
Thanks for the links, Vernon. I don’t get to listen/watch live, so it’s nice to get a chance to hear them.
Tens of thousands of Palestinians on foot and on donkey carts poured into Egypt from Gaza Wednesday after masked gunmen used land mines to blast down a seven-mile barrier dividing the border town of Rafah.
The border breach was a dramatic protest against the closure of the impoverished Palestinian territory imposed last week by Israel.
Jubilant men and women crossed unhindered by border controls over the toppled corrugated metal along sections of the barrier, carrying goats, chickens and crates of Coca-Cola. Some brought back televisions, car tires and cigarettes and one man even bought a motorcycle. Vendors sold soft drinks and baked goods to the crowds.
Re: 31 But it’s so great to see Marcs’ facial expressions and watch him eat his breakfast!
soupP,
I listened to this story on NPR :omg: this AM.
here are some who object to Maron’s munching on the show. I don’t think some folks get Marc.
A lot of people will flat out tell you they don’t think Maron is funny. To me, that’s bewildering. I can only attribute it a lack of intelligence or awareness, or possibly going through life with a broom shoved up their asses.
Euro squirrels? Who ever heard of investing in Euro squirrels? I have my money where it will do the most good – Powerball tickets. Beats the hell out of that coffee can mutual fund my dad recommended. When I cash in and retire at age 99 1/2 I will be able to afford a two-room cardboard box under one of the nicest highway overpasses in North Dakota.
Don’t ya just love deregulated Reaganomics? And I understand the economic stimulus package is to include tax cuts and immunity from prosecution for Halliburton and KBR.
Yeah a condo development of refrigerator boxes .. The city decided to put Porta Poties under the bridges instead of routing out the residents.. Now if it would just get warmer ?? :cold: :cold: Apparently there are not a lot of BNSF coal trains headed for Arizona these days. :reaper: :reaper:
Reid’s ready to cave on retroactive telecom immunity. Chris Dodd isn’t. Will Clinton and Obama stand by him?
Interesting, from the NY Observer (and an unnamed source, so take it for what it’s worth).
I don’t know about the Rezko stuff, but McCain’s definitely a nut.
It’s seeming like Edwards is gonna get the vp spot again. I wonder if he’ll mind that.
The Wall Streeters got “good’ news: Ford wants to trim 11,000 union jobs.
How did Condi get to her position with such a shakey voice that sounds completely hesitant and apprehensive??
I could answer that, but it might be offensive, crude, and disgusting.
Yes, I have OCD.
Randi just said Chimpy is “Multitasking incompetance”. She gets a good one in every now and then. :rofl2:
No, go ahead PJ, I can take crude and disgusting.
When I saw the name Heath Ledger, I thought it was a country music star.

Well, he did wear boots and a cowboy hat and engage in gay sex. But just in that movie.
How did Condi get to her position with such a shakey voice that sounds completely hesitant and apprehensive??

I too have an answer that’s offensive, crude and disgusting, but I want to hear PJ’s first.
Condi is a gap tooth woman if you know what I am saying. :hot: :hubba:
Condi is disgusting turd. I wish I hadn’t come back to computer just to see that. :omg: :growl: :fist: A!I!V! I really need more tea now to clear the palate. eck
:rofl2: Yeh, I want to hear PJ’s answer also. :rofl2:
Regardless how he died the fact is he Died of a STUPID accident.
See: In a breath one can die, no matter the age.
Heath Ledger * :knit: * /|\ :peace: :gate:
…and then we have people freezing to death under a bridge or in the streets. /|\ * :knit: * :peace: :gate:
Why can’t we all stand as one and instead of just screaming, “Why?” . :fustrate: :omg: 🙁
I cannot listen to Ms Rant…she lost me by her proselytizing.. and I will not waste time listening to :crap: and further useless rhetoric. I cannot get onto DU cuz SOMEONE last year (Autumn ’07) accidently? LOST my two names and passwords and I still believe I can find them. :smack: 🙄 whatever……..
So that is Stephanie Miller and Randi …wow…I barely listen. I listened ONLY to last 1/2hr of Steph and that didn’t work. Rats, but they are literally making me sick………Ms Rant (thank you Fred)
is still in BACKGROUND no longer  …. .. :fist: A!I!V!
Then I haven’t listed the slow murders of the MANY WHALES by Japan, which I might remind of the cruelty. All Quaters are being poisoned by Human’s Actions… do I dare say “humanity” .. :fist: A!I!V! :fist:
And as I said my rats will be dying this year, for they 😥 are in their 3d year and tumors are growing on some and Mystery Mouse died, heralding: :reaper: the 3d year. Sometimes I get so sad when I have to dig more graves, since some strays are old, but are given “a good death”.
okay, Randi ended decent. A Caller: HE WAS ACTIVE SINCE HE WAS 14yrs IN WASH DC and he spoke truth.
Randi was right when she said MORE people ARE GETTING INVOLVED.  (I just worry since in the 60’s , 70’s, & 80’s we knew and HERALDED what NOW is here, since the Polar Bears and so much more are dying NOW!)
So, the Dow finished up almost 300 points today. Doom and gloom postponed yet again.
I found a good way to listen to Randi. You only need to hear the first hour because the other 2 she just keeps repeating what she said the first. 8)
Kinda like her friend Stephanie. There are a few shows like that. I don’t remember that so much with MS and Majority Report and Seder and Franken (though he did recycle a lot of jokes).
Don’t write John Edwards off yet. The media is paying more attention to him. He was ‘way ahead of the curve on the economy. And voters are getting fed up with the Clinton – Obama feud. It’s the last thing the Democratic Party needs. But neither one is willing to back down now. They are going to screw it up for everyone.
 I think I blew my first chem. test on a simple volume, density, mass equation. Hope I get a passing grade. The rest of the test was on electron configuration. Think I did pretty well there. I’m not sure when I’ll get the results. I’ll keep everyone posted ’cause I know how much you all care. 🙄
I goofed up on some of these, too.
Yeah, keep us posted, Travis. We’re all pulling for you. It isn’t easy, moving down from Anchortown, and then doing all the school stuff. You deserve a lot of credit.
Thanks PJ.
I just know that these exams are only going to get more complex and the better I can grasp the concepts at the beginning the better shape I’ll be in at the end. I just have a hard time with exam-anxiety and making careless errors that I’d probably recognize if I weren’t in that sort of setting.
Yea Travis :pirate: :yippee: .
… going to get more complex and the better I can grasp the concepts at the beginning the better shape I’ll be in at the end. Very well put, Travis. :fist: A!I!V!
Travis, make sure you get plenty of sleep and eat well. That’s more important than you kids think it is. Don’t cram for tests, just do all your homework and pay attention in class. Although, I think you learn pretty quick that cramming doesn’t work so well with higher math. And I had to quit the :bong: too. Weed + math = :smack:
Travis, where not to seek help
