OK, I’m officially tired of the 2008 presidential campaign. Unfortunately, I keep being drawn back to it. Same old shit every day, pretty much, but I keep wasting time looking at it. Just aint the same without Grampa Fred.

Does it really matter if I know the election results by the 11 o’clock news? If it means my vote gets counted accurately, I can wait a day or two.

Unfortuantely, it matters a great deal to Timmy Potatohead, Tweety and all the other idiots who make a living at explaining to us what they want us to think we are voting for. The results are not as meaningful as the story. And the story is breaking NOW. Stay tuned or else.
Someone said recently that the only thing TV news is good for is weather and traffic. I would amend that slightly to include sports scores, assuming SportsCenter is not on. And the consumer reporter for the local ABC affiliate, because her reports are informative and she is :hot: :hot: :hubba:
Hey Andy, Cavalier is offering Internet access on my area now. What do you think of them? They sent me something yesterday offering broadband and phone for $39.90 a month.
Of course, when I go to their website and put in my zip code, it tells me they don’t serve my area (so why did they send me their crap in the mail).
Thursday morning! The last day of my work week.
It has been raining, on and off, for days and the streets look very clean. It’s too warm, after all this is supposed to be winter, but the birds seem chipper, in fact they’re arguing about some bird issue and making quite a lot of noise.
As for the preznit campaign, I think I am even more tired of the news coverage than the campaign itself. The campaign is pretty avoidable in the city ’cause they all know how the vote will go here. The Rethugs might have surprised them by not voting for GiudiRudi, but too many folks rejected him and beat them to it. I am definitely tired of Chris Matthews and Russert. The most disgusting sight, however, is that grinning warmonger, LIEbrman standing in back of McCain, after a primary victory.
Oh well, off to work. Thank goodness for :joe: :joe:
Hey PJ,
So far Cavalier has been reliable, I like that you get all the bells and whistles for free that Verizon always charges extra for. Just find out how far you are from the CO, Cav has it’s own lines and the distances will be different. I’m actually farther away from the Cav CO so my speed is slower but the price is right so I put up with it. I have heard that their service sucks but I don’t have any first hand experience with that.
At least they aren’t spying on you….asa far as I know.
I don’t know if I have seen this yet
Air America’s Rachel Maddow Show Expands to 3 Hours
Maddow will be joined in the third hour of her newly expanded show by author and political activist David Bender, the former host of two Air America programs, Politically Direct and Ring of Fire. Maddow describes Bender as her “political guru” — for years, he has been a frequest guest and fill-in host on The Rachel Maddow Show.
and this Sirius Satellite Radio
So don’t take a stand.
Hmm, that’s interesting. They said that in our county, Clinton got about 65% of the vote. The city of Syracuse has a majority of Democrats, while the county has more Republicans. It’s also much wealthier than the city, and I would guess a higher percentage of non-white voters.
Yeah, Cav is advertising speeds of 8 Mbps, which is very, very hard to believe for DSL. I think you’d need to actually be inside the CO to get that. I get close to 10 with my cable connection (I’d love to try FiOS, but am reluctant to mess with what’s already working). My in-laws have FiOS now (finally, off the damn maddening dial-up; it’s great, since I can bring my laptop and surf the web while nodding occasionally and saying ‘yep’ every once in a while). I haven’t checked their speed yet. Have to go over with an Ethernet cable one of these days and check it out.
Ah, finally, there is at least a little justice in the world.
Rush Limbaugh/John McCain AIM chat transcript leaked.
Now THAT was funny.
:rofl2:
The Ted Kennedy/Bill Clinton one isn’t bad, either.
We won’t have Mitt to kick around any more.
That’s it? McCain and Hucka :bee: ? I can’t see it.
Looks that way.
Should be interesting to see who the media picks for the Democrats now.
Media loves McCain. Media loves Obama. Media hates Clinton. But, McCain/Clinton is probably better for the ratings. So, it’ll be interesting to see if the media turns on Obama now.
This almost makes me want to tune in limpbow. Well, that only lasted for a minute.
He won the support of many white men, a group that had voted for John Edwards of North Carolina before Mr. Edwards dropped out of the race last week. Mr. Obama seems to have cut the long-established ties between black voters and the Clintons. He made slight inroads among Hispanic voters, a solid part of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s base.
But one of the most intriguing finding in the surveys of voters leaving the polls across the nation on Tuesday was when they arrived at their final decision. Throughout a week when Mr. Obama was campaigning with members of the Kennedy family, when there was a sense that he was creating a movement that cut across racial and generational lines, there was a steady movement of Democrats toward Mr. Obama, the survey suggested. But those who reported making their decision on the last day bucked the trend, tending to vote for Mrs. Clinton, of New York.

For decades, researchers believed that if people with diabetes lowered their blood sugar to normal levels, they would no longer be at high risk of dying from heart disease. But a major federal study of more than 10,000 middle-aged and older people with Type 2 diabetes has found that lowering blood sugar actually increased their risk of death, researchers reported Wednesday.

As you can see, I hd a chance to read the paper, this morning. :rofl2:
Tell it goodbye
Somewhere out there :pup: :pup: :pup:
However, I just don’t know if this is a good thing. Now McCain has all of the time in the world to get his shit together.
The Reich wing talkers should be having a tizzy fit. over Romturd dropping out.. :tap: :tap: .
Hey, don’t forget Huckabee!
The U turn the Reich wing media made over Huckabee indicates to me that they get their marching orders from higher powers that the RNC. :reaper: :reaper:
Huckabee is some of the shit.
OK, STS-122 is into it’s scheduled hold at T-9 minutes. Scheduled launch time is 2:45 Eastern.
Jesus’ll get you for that one, Vernon. :jesus:
I just really don’t know what this gambit is. I think Huckabee will not win head to head against McCain and will soon be gone. Romney’s lame excuse was terruh and surrender monkeys. I think they are desperate, maybe more so that Obama could be the nominee because they don’t know what to do with him.
Countdown has resumed.
Yeah, they know they can get away with sliming Clinton, but they might be a bit leery to be overtly racist against Obama. And, if they even the slightest thing against him, his true believers will whine them to death.
That’s good because it’s just about my launch time.
McCain (framed by losers like lieberman and lindsey) is a DOA image for a year where the economy is :crap: and there is a stupid, endless ‘war’ that is indefensible.
You are correct, sir, and it will be a lot harder for them to attack Obama.
The other thing is that this large amount of support for Obama is not all from identifiable democrats… could it be :omg: that a lot of the IDIOT MORONS are waking up … NAW :reaper: :reaper:
I never thought an idiot like Bush could wind up as preznit, and there’s a long way to go until November, so I’m not convinced that McCain is definitely out of it. People seem to hate Hillary, so at this point in time, it seems as though Obama would have a better chance of not only winning, but really bringing a lot of traditional non-voters out to vote. But you never know what kind of slime they’ll throw at him, and if the media wants it to stick, it will.
I don’t know about that I really don’t think that a lot of people even listen/watch the “media” any longer.. The may be to busy at their three jobs :rofl2: :rofl2: or they understand its all a bunch of Reich wing BS.. or Hospice care for the rest of us and would rather listen to classical music and watch the history channel instead. :reaper: :reaper:
Well, the media gave us Clintama. They gave us Maverick McCain, too. They wanted to give us Guidi, but he was just too ridiculous.
50% is against Obama. 🙄 A!I!V! His numbers are going down and Her numbers are going up. Hill is now on the Web, and making money.
The Media Forced Upon The Masses/ :sheep: to “Follow” Obama and most did. 🙄 … :reaper: :dancers: A!I!V! :fist: Whatever
Someone said that they should call next Tuesday’s primarys (VA, DC. MD) the Crab Cake Primary. I’m ready for that.
Jeez, I was hoping Mitt would drain his savings account of another ten mill or so before he cashed it in. Oh well.
Someone mentioned on a show today, I think Randi’s, that since the Romney boys will no longer be serving their country by supporting Willard’s campaign, they should enlist and volunteer to go to Iraq. I’m not holding my breath waiting for THAT one.
:rofl2:
The bright side is, now that we know McCain will definitely be the Repig candidate, it’s time to crank up the image-destruction machine. The MSM cannot be allowed to continue painting him as a sainted hero or we are doomed in November.
I say we start the attack ads now. And the best part is we don’t have to Swiftboat him, just tell the truth and show how his image doesn’t jive with reality.
Or maybe we should just hold back for now and let Limprick, Man Coulter, Hannity, etc. get the ball rolling. I bet Rush was fun to listen to today.
:rofl2:
But even though Mitt has thrown in the towel, you will all be happy to know that our borders are still being protected from dangerous foriegners.
Seriously, though, this sucks.

She tried to make it to the Grammys, they said no, no, no.
:fu:
Update: She’ll be performing via satellite from London during the broadcast. Which I guess is better than nothing.
:alc:
The Labor Department reported that the number of workers belonging to a union grew by 311,000 to 15.7 million. That means union members increased from 12 percent of the American work force in 2006 to 12.1 percent last year. In the private sector, unions’ share of workers inched ahead from 7.4 percent to 7.46 percent. While the rebound is tiny, and might yet prove to be a statistical mirage, it is the first recorded increase in organized labor’s ranks since the 1970s, when almost one in four workers belonged to a union.

Can anyone explain mittens capitulation ie; that it would be surrendering to terror or some such shit? Sounds like he’ll be back after mccain loses in ’08.
Seder in for Malloy friday. Malloy is going to alienate every woman for Hillary in LA when he goes live on KTLK tonight :tap:
I think you’re right, Art. Mittens sees that this time around is probably a loser for the Republicans, so he can ride in on his mannequin white horse in 2008 and be the shiny hero (plus, his flip flopping will be another four years in the past).
I reckon it was a bidness decision. More cost effective to run in 2012.
Doesn RG have any regrets that she could have flipped Syracuse one way or the other? :smack:
We don’t live in the city, so she wouldn’t have made much of a difference.
THIS JUST IN: Rotting Cryptkeeper Phelps & Clan coming to Chicago
Yes, you heard right. The nutjobs over at the Westboro Baptist Church are heading to Chicago’s south suburbs to picket at two funerals.
Re:51
Man, how do these people aspire to outdo themselves with contempt and odium? They’re more disgusting than parasites.
Phelps and company are actually a bunch of lawyers who want you to pick a fight with them so they can sue you for everything you have … they are almost as good as having the Chinese buy your reposed house.. :reaper: :reaper:
I think that Romturd just didn’t want to be associated with a bunch of nut jobs who were at the helm when the SBR Titanic went down.. :reaper: :reaper:
The thing about unions like the SEIU is that the “they” are not likely to move your supermarket to China. especially with gasoline being as expensive as it is. :tap: :tap:
