So, all the Obamites are clamoring for Clinton to just drop out so their savior can be anointed King (or at least heir to the throne). I personally don’t see a problem with her hanging out through Texas, Ohio, and maybe PA. These are some delegate rich states, and I suppose there’s some chance that she might win by a large enough margin to shift both the (committed) delegate count, and the overall popular vote.
I really don’t see that happening at this point, though. It sure looks like we’ve got some serious Barackamentum going on here, and I think it’s becoming increasingly clear that – for better or worse – he’s become the ‘people’s choice.’ I think it’s time for Clinton to start thinking about her exit strategy. I don’t know what she can get out of this, but she will, very soon, need to wake up and smell the coffee. If some combination of ‘super’ delegates and Florida and Michigan delegates being seated gives her the nomination, nobody’s going to accept it. Nobody with a brain, anyway – and certainly nobody who has never ‘gotten over’ dubya getting appointed emperor in chief by the Supreme Court.
So, Hillary, if you want to hang out and see what happens in TX and OH, well, OK, I can understand that. But absent some overwhelming rush of support toward your campaign, it’s time to start thinking about getting out. I know it’s a tough blow to the ego – especially when ‘they’ had all but given you the nomination – but now you have a chance to go back to the Senate and be a major force for pushing a progressive agenda through with a (more or less) friendly President and solid Democratic control of Congress. God knows we need a new Senate Majority Leader. That would be a pretty major achievement for you in and of itself. In fact, you might have more real power in that position than you would as President.
Of course, that means you’ll actually have to stand up, stop triangulating, quit being driven by your ambition, and start being driven by all those things that you really did stand for (supposedly), way back when. Put that Clinton machine and ruthlessness to work fighting for the people who have nobody to fight for them (if you need ideas, feel free to ask John Edwards). We all know you’ve got your Senate seat here in NY for as long as you want it, so quit being motivated by the need to get reelected, and start being motivated by the need to help the forgotten people in this society.
Just, please, don’t pull everything apart trying to ‘win’ the Presidential nomination at all costs. You’ll only succeed in giving us President McCain, and quite possibly losing seats (if not control) in Congress. We really don’t need that.
I think a friend of mine is gonna be on Tyra Banks, whatever that is, talkin’ ’bout luv, l-u-v.

Yes, Kevin, we were waiting for you! :rofl2:
I bet Vern knows about this
pj, you ignorant, naive slut.
Of course Hill-Billy will not relent until the last possible chance of victory, by hook or by crook, is gone. They are already proved that by the embarrassing effort to try to claim the delegates from Florida and Michigan that were uncontested since the rest of the candidates stood with the party in rejecting the attempts by those states to move up their primary dates. Perhaps caucuses in those states can be conducted before the convention to seat a legitimate slate of delegates. They will have no compunction taking the nomination via the super-delegate route since those ae the current rules. For the same reason they should their Florida and Michigan claims.
Even if Clinton bows out, it may not be a graceful exit. This tag team is not necessarily in it just for the good of the nation. 2008 will most likely be their last shot at the WH until at least 2016 when Chelsea will finally be 35. For Hillary, as Apollo once said, ain’t gonna be no rematch. However, recent polling shows a substantial polling advantage in Ohio so it is not over by any means. There is plenty of time to derail the ‘O’mentum train (probably coal fueled) and lots of oppo to be flung. If the Clintonista can’t do it, Obama is probably inoculated and battle tested well enough to assure Democrat victory in November.
Senator Clinton will not become Senate Majority Leader. That position most likely belongs to Senator Chris Dodd who is now earning the position overshadowing the current occupant who name escapes me for some reason. Oh, right, he’s useless! Ms. Clinton’s best hope is for a long career in the Senate, perhaps replacing Ted Kennedy at some point as the non-titular leader of the Liberals in that body.

That was supposed to be a Beavis and Butthead thing, but it’s hard to capture that in text.

I understood, pj, (Jan) you ignorant, naive slut. that was a favorite of mine.
What I was talking about was an opinion of yours, and not PROVING FACTS. I’m a literalist, as you may or may not know. There has been a multitude of Clinton bashing, so much that even Paul Krugman (finally enlightened) put forth a scathing article about Obama and Obama-worshipers. If you want to debate an opinion. So Be It. A debate is not one sided. :pirate: A!I!V!I am being a bit stiff. Tea Cheers It’s Friday, but I do not listen even to Ms :rant1: whilst she proselytizes Obama. Jeff is my next hope (& Fred 😉 ).
I’m sorry, an opinion of mine? Which opinion? What’s the issue? Or are you talking about somebody else’s opinion?
No PJ Dearest, that quote came fron “Vern’s” camp. And the quote was a “play” upon someone elses’s words. Dan’s on SNL 🙂 ,,,A!I!V! Unless I am just being baited again. 🙄
Probably an opinion of mine, pj. I am full of them and they all Uma Thurman. Don’t know about any camp, though. I have never been much of a camper. I guess I may seem to be an Obama lover, Clinton hater which really isn’t the case. I’ll take either one but I just know (opinion) that Obama has the best chance of winning and bringing more winners along with him.
I was reading a lot of letters to the NYT yesterday taking Krugman to task for his recent opinion columns on Obama. Interesting stuff and a lot of people disagreeing with PK for the first time, including me.
Thank You for telling me twenty whatever … I will write to him and his paper singing his praise.
I’ve read his columns, but not the reactions to them. I think both Obama and Clinton true believers tend to react to any perceived slight with a lot of venom, without really looking at the substance of the argument. Agree or disagree, fine. But geez, neither one of these people are the second coming. I hear people talking about how great our choices are and how excited they are and all that. I just don’t feel it. I tried to analyze what became my two choices as best I could, and made a decision that I frankly wasn’t terribly excited about. I tried my best to do the good little citizen taxpayer thing, and now it’s out of my hands (to the extent that it ever was in my hands). I will also have absolutely no difficulty in deciding for whom to pull the lever (or fill in the bubble, as the case may be) in November. McCain would – IMHO – be a friggin’ disaster. Worse than what we have right now, because McCain isn’t as stupid as Bush, and if we get even a semi-competent neocon in there, we’re up the crick.
Oh, OK. I was trying to figure out what I did wrong. Not that I mind pissing people off, of course 😉 but I prefer to do it on purpose. It’s not as much fun when you do it unwittingly.
Now I can turn Nova M on. ooooooo Thom hartmann :boobs: :hubba: :nana: … :nana: A!I!V! I have to use two “mices” to equal the one … but at least one moves and “clicks” :yippee: , so I see what I have been using. 😮 A!I!V!.
i wrote and it didn’t post. i’m invisible i think today. :billcat:
PJ never you, you maker of Our World. This I believe is a (did not want it to turn this way 🙄 )bit of a tiff, dare I say a melee between Vermin (Sue P 😉 ) and myself. … :fist: A!I!V!
Oh well. I’ll just have to settle for pissing my wife off instead. That’s pretty much always unwittingly, though. Come to think of it, almost everything I do is without thinking, since I tend to operate – as the car talk guys would say – unencumbered by the thought process.
Oh, PJ’s talking into the “void” ( 8) ). Well I ran away from “responsibilities & obligations”, thus I am off to see the Wizard (of Odd, an ex-stray) AND GET MORE TEA :joe: :yippee:
and work and make a fire… …and :tommygun: A!I!V!

Good for you, Darin.

I enjoy reading Krugman, mainly because he explains economics on a basic enough level that even I can understand it most of the time, but he’s been shamelessly cheerleading for Hillary for weeks now.
One wonders if he’s gunning for a position as her economic advisor if she gets the nomination, or maybe even as Bernanke’s replacement.
Personally I would take anything derogatory Krugman has to say about Obama or his supporters with a rather large grain of salt.

Thanks FK! 😀
From what I read from Krugman, he mostly thought it was a bad idea to accept Republican framing on Social Security. I tend to agree with that. Then the Obamites went on the attack, and Krugman wrote about the ‘Clinton Rules.’ I probably missed some things though.
Thursday, February 14th, an act of terrorism was committed at Northern Illinois University. Another instance occurred at Louisiana Tech on February 8th. Still another happened in Omaha on December 5th. What is the administration doing to combat these horrendous lone-gunman assaults?
Maybe we should tap some phones. Or better yet, make firearms easier to get so everyone can defend themselves.
