You know you don’t have much to say when you talk about the weather. Speaking of which, it’s a bit chilly here. Not supposed to get above 14 or so. That’s not all that bad, really. Especially since spring is just six months or so away. Have a good Thursday.
Counting the minutes until I can go home and go to bed. Graveyard shift sucks.
It got down to 40 degrees last night. Right now it’s hovering aroung 47 with lots of wind chill. This is not the weather I moved to Florida to enjoy.
It’s supposed to make it up to 71 by tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully the chill is temporary. I’m keeping the coat and gloves around just in case.
And I’m aware how wussy that sounds compared to those of you who are shoveling snow this morning, so don’t bother reminding me.
😀
No problem, Kevin. I’d much rather have snow and a little cold weather than deal with heat, bugs, and hurricanes.
Plus, pretty much all of us are allowed to vote up here.
It’s cold outside and it’s supposed to snow tomorrow and Saturday. Those are bad snowstorm days. Snow needs to fall fast and furiously, all night long, so that the plows can’t get the streets cleared by morning. Then, even if the schools are officially open, I can feel righteous not going in.
But the :joe: :joe: :joe: is hot and fresh. How I love my coffeemaker which automatically brews the stuff just before I wake up and greets me wih that lovely aroma.
Kevin, it is unfair to say wussy things and then refuse to allow comments pointing that out. Aren’t comments what a blog is all about?
Dan Abrams, has been doing a piece on Gov. Siegelman every night and says he will continue to do so, tonight. Last night he had Gov. Siegelman’s daughter on.
They are calling for the release of the governor, while his appeal proceeds. Allowing him such freedom, during the appeal, would be standard procedure for a nonviolent crime.
When he was convicted, he as immediately sent to jail without the standard 45 days n which to put his affairs in order.
Gee, the rethugs are such patriots but I’m not sure about which country they are patriotic. I think they’d love being Saudi women.

The question has nagged at the parents of Americans born outside the continental United States for generations: Dare their children aspire to grow up and become president? In the case of Senator John McCain of Arizona, the issue is becoming more than a matter of parental daydreaming.
Mr. McCain’s likely nomination as the Republican candidate for president and the happenstance of his birth in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936 are reviving a musty debate that has surfaced periodically since the founders first set quill to parchment and declared that only a “natural-born citizen†can hold the nation’s highest office.
Almost since those words were written in 1787 with scant explanation, their precise meaning has been the stuff of confusion, law school review articles, whisper campaigns and civics class debates over whether only those delivered on American soil can be truly natural born. To date, no American to take the presidential oath has had an official birthplace outside the 50 states.
“There are powerful arguments that Senator McCain or anyone else in this position is constitutionally qualified, but there is certainly no precedent,†said Sarah H. Duggin, an associate professor of law at Catholic University who has studied the issue extensively. “It is not a slam-dunk situation.â€

Don’t worry Kevin, warm weather is on the way! We’re supposed to be sunny and in the 80’s the next few days. 8) Still too cold to jump in the pool though. :cold:
New speed record.
That’s a lotta porn per second.
35% of House Republicans Support Christian Nationalist History Revisionism
House Resolution 888 has gained 3 new co-sponsors, bringing the total, as of yesterday, to 75 — 70 Republicans and 5 Democrats. And, as promised in a prior post, each time this legislative abomination gets more co-sponsors, I’m going to debunk another one of its lies.

With the House Democrats’ refusal to grant retroactive immunity to phone companies — stalling the rewrite of the warrantless wiretapping program — GOP leadership aides are grumbling that their party isn’t getting more political money from the telecommunications industry.

Hey, we’re allowed to vote down here too. They just don’t COUNT the votes. And when the votes DO count, they’re usually not counted correctly. If you’re going to make fun of this ignorant state, do it properly at least.
:rofl2:
Where the hell you think he is, pj, Ohio?
Gee, Kev, I seem to recall hearing about a lot of black folks purged from the voter lists down there.
I much prefer Laura to Hartmann  but I am not digging Rayburn for Maddow. Seder will be doing her new third hour next week only but I wonder if there will be any carriage. I’ll catch it on SammyCam. I think AAR is making a mistake running their shows on a shoestring with minimal staff.
The local programming geniuses are rolling out still another ‘green’ show next week instead of Maddow live. That will be about their third or fourth attempt now. I prefer my greencasting in PSA doses.
Sad all over

Vernon, thank you for Maron v Seder.
Thanks for the podcast, Vernon! And to you and all — Hoffmania is going to be doing live chat on Tuesday for the big primary night. There’s really no point in having a whole bunch of these all over the Intartoobz, so let’s just plan to meet over there. If you go to http://www.hoffmania.com on Tuesday night, he’ll have the link to the chat.
I don’t remember if someone did this one
