I’m glad it’s Saturday. But, as much as I don’t care for my job, I’m really glad I don’t work for these people.
A supervisor at a motivational-coaching business in Provo, Utah, is accused of waterboarding an employee in front of his sales teammates to demonstrate that they should work as hard on sales as the employee had worked to breathe.
In a lawsuit, former Prosper Inc. salesman Chad Hudgens alleges his managers also allowed the supervisor to draw mustaches on employees’ faces, take away their chairs and beat on their desks with a wooden paddle “because it resulted in increased revenues for the company.â€
Yeah, that’d motivate me. Motivate me to kick somebody’s ass. You beat my desk with a wooden paddle, and don’t be surprised if you find a wooden paddle up your ass so far it tickles your throat. And if you waterboard me, you better go ahead and fuckin’ kill me, cuz if you don’t, I’ll be shoving you head down a toilet as soon as you let me go.
You wanna steal my chair? Go ahead. I’ll just go home. See ya.
Wow-Wee-Woo! Haven’t been first in eons.
Good Morning bloggie-poos!
I’m excited – today I’m taking a plein air oil painting class in Etlanta. I’m new at it, but sure do enjoy it.
Have a mighty fine day one and all!
If the NYC Bd of Ed hears about waterboarding employees, they’ll be sure to make it one of their negotiating demands, next contract. Bushie, I’m sure, will push to have it incorporated into No Child Left Behind, that great educational achievement that has turned school into a test prep mills.
A first grade teacher friend said she wasn’t allowed to make valentines with the children ’cause it too away from instruction time and the kindergarten teacher had to sneak in making Christmas presents.
FK, have fun in that painting class. ‘Tis one of those things you do with a different part of your brain.

Conservative societies are not exactly people friendly. I am so glad I work for a more liberal company, but I do wish they would unchain me from this computer at least during my PTO.
Proof that we are not taking climate change seriously
What will it take for people to wake up and understand this is a real problem? Or maybe they already do. One of my professors decades ago pointed out that by the time you can actually measure change in a system as large as a planet-wide eco-system you couldn’t stop the process if you wanted to. Well, first we have to want to stop the process before we can decide what to do to stop it. If the good prof was correct, though, we couldn’t do anything anyway.
My solution: a nice imperial ale for breakfast.

The faux President and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke don’t think the economy is in trouble. When people get this disparate we can all see the economy is tanking badly.

Yes, NC, I think a lot of us intuitively know that. Especially if you are the type of person that is fascinated with natural processes. :smack:

Violent civilian deaths in Iraq rose 36 percent in February from the previous month after a series of large-scale bombings blamed on al Qaeda, Iraqi government figures showed on Saturday.
A total of 633 civilians died violently in February, compared with 466 in January, according to figures released by Iraq’s interior, defense and health ministries. It was the first increase after six consecutive months of falling casualty tolls.
Despite its sharp rise, the February 2008 figure was still dramatically lower than the 1,645 civilians who died violently in the same month a year ago. A total of 701 civilians were wounded, compared with 2,700 a year ago.

KUSA – Saturday will be the warmest day so far this year with temperatures soaring into the 70s. The dry and warm weather will then be replaced by cold and snowy conditions on Sunday
According to 9NEWS Meteorologist Ashton Altieri, a strong southwesterly flow ahead of a developing winter storm west of Colorado will create strong Chinook or “downsloping” winds on Saturday. Winds will blow at 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts.
Spring doesn’t officially start in Colorado until March 19, but the 9NEWS Weather Team still expects temperatures to reach into the 70s Saturday afternoon. A few record highs could be tied or broken. The current record high in Denver on March 1 is 73 degrees, last set in 1974.
Welcome to spring time in the rockies… :reaper: :reaper:
UAL should be glad the software package didn’t decide it was a demo version and quit working while the plane was at 50,000 feet. :reaper: :reaper:

At the start of the Academy Award-winning movie “American Beauty,” a character videotapes a plastic grocery bag as it drifts into the air, an event he casts as a symbol of life’s unpredictable currents, and declares the romantic moment as a “most beautiful thing.”
To the eyes of an oceanographer, the image is pure catastrophe.
In reality, the rogue bag would float into a sewer, follow the storm drain to the ocean, then make its way to the so-called Great Pacific Garbage Patch – a heap of debris floating in the Pacific that’s twice the size of Texas, according to marine biologists.
The enormous stew of trash – which consists of 80 percent plastics and weighs some 3.5 million tons, say oceanographers – floats where few people ever travel, in a no-man’s land between San Francisco and Hawaii.

Druid … When you come out with a revelation about Obama I wish you would link to something… or tell us where you heard what ever it was.. I can only imagine what would happen if Obama proposed getting rid of the contractors and replacing them with a draft. 😮 😮
Fred- Malloy was talking about this last night. Obama has said he wouldn’t get rid of the contractors, that he would only want more oversight. Hillary has said she want’s to get rid of them.
Did you enjoy the beautiful day today? I was in Boulder and the skies were so blue and the air so fresh, it reminded me of when I moved here 35 yrs ago. Very few days like today anymore 🙁
Fred I was going to put up links but didn’t KNOW ( 🙄 ) if I should … But I am late (as usual), I’m late … for a very important date……..

Fred, I heard: I believe on RoF/from PAP or a guest.
— I do not have time to get tea or even to do fire since I am having a heated-ish debate at Sederville and that is where I have to get links from, so a tad bit later.– Round 3 or is it 4 now :slap: :rofl2: … :fist: A!I!V! 😉
Every night I look at C&L and when I see the Late Night Music Club has a Howie Klein BS photo montage, I get pissed off. Tonight he has some Harold Melvin song accompanied by some interpretive crap so I have to acknowledge some real Philly Soul. :dancers:
