Clifford, my cat, is driving me crazy. He’s become a really fussy eater. In the last year he’s lost over 1/2 a pound.
I feed him Merrick canned food. He nibbles on all of it but his sister, Rosie, eats most of it. She’s gained 1/2 a pound.
He will eat some dry food, but what ever he is enthusiastic about one day he turns his nose up at the next. At he moment the dry food is “Chicken Soup” which they loved 2 weeks ago.
He has developed a yen for cream cheese, and I give him some every morning. He always leaves some behind.
He seems healthy. His fur is soft and shiny. He’s active and playful. I just took him to the vet, yesterday. :fustrate:
Good luck with that, Sue P. Both of our remaining cats have become very fussy, much to Granny’s chagrin. We’ve tried Merrick’s, Canidae, newmans, own, and a whole bunch of others. They like it one minute, loathe it the next. Very annoying.
Siggy is doing OK with the puppy. He hasn’t killed him yet. He’s had to correct him a time or two, but seems to at least be tolerating him. They’re best out at the park together, where Siggy can run off with the little guy chasing after him. As always, for those who just can’t get enough doggie pictures….
The Environmental Protection Agency weakened one part of its new limits on smog-forming ozone after an unusual last-minute intervention by President Bush, according to documents released by the EPA.
EPA officials initially tried to set a lower seasonal limit on ozone to protect wildlife, parks and farmland, as required under the law. While their proposal was less restrictive than what the EPA’s scientific advisers had proposed, Bush overruled EPA officials and on Tuesday ordered the agency to increase the limit, according to the documents.
“It is unprecedented and an unlawful act of political interference for the president personally to override a decision that the Clean Air Act leaves exclusively to EPA’s expert scientific judgment,” said John Walke, clean-air director for the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The president’s order prompted a scramble by administration officials to rewrite the regulations to avoid a conflict with past EPA statements on the harm caused by ozone.
In NYC, and many other places, math in the elementary schools doesn’t include instruction in such things as ADDITION.
One program thinks that children should begin math by learning about money. So, 6 year olds, who can’t add, are asked to figure out the sum of various coins. Because they can’t add, the use number lines to count to the desired result.
This program was developed in Australia and the people who implement it are Australian. They are also very frustrated because the kids can’t do it.
Another program asks the teachers to cover topics on a time schedule and to continue instruction on that schedule, whether the kids get it or not. Of course one thing not included in this instruction is basic math skills. The kids, little Euclids all, are supposed to figure out how to add by themselves.
Needless to day this doesn’t work. (Athough if you were an education “expert” it would sound perfectly reasonable to you.)
Now that John McCain has won the GOP nomination, Republicans are voting in the Democratic primary in increasing numbers, hoping to pick their opponent for the November election, or at least cause more turmoil in our already divisive nomination battle.
HAPPY PI DAY!
It’s Pi Day, a celebration of the mathematical ratio that man has been trying to unlock for millennia. But why are we driven to find the answers behind it? …Coincidentally, Pi Day is also the birthday of Albert Einstein, who no doubt knew more than a little about pi. Pi Day celebrants, usually children with an enthusiastic teacher and a varying degree of personal interest in the subject, learn about pi, circles, and, if they’re lucky, eat baked pies of various sorts.
The NY Times is reporting the Federal government says prices were “held in check” in February. Say what? Last month inflation was over 8%. November inflation was almost 10%. Suddenly inflation is flat, zero, nada? That isn’t just weird, that is not believable.
The dollar is at record lows. Due to that single fact oil and gold are at record highs. Imported anything and everything are at record highs. Investment banks are collapsing one after another. Some OPEC nations are calling for a move away from trading in dollars. And this government is reporting consumer prices haven’t changed? That just isn’t credibile.

A friend of mine saved a Burger King receipt from when we went to lunch one day while working at the same mall in our senior year of high school (he was at a grocery store, and I was working at Sears in the Toys and Lawn & Garden departments, just in case anybody cares; I used to have a blast playing with the toys, and I was quite knowledgeable about fertilizer and Malathion – and Diazinon, too). My brother’s going to be on the local news tonight. It seems he’s been going after the slum lords in Norristown and one of the staions did an interview with him.
I think that our “liberal” talkers have to look at this issue of separation of church and state a little better..
1. Most UPJ groups are sponsored by churches
2. Most Non profits that run soup kitchens and food pantries are sponsored and heavily aided by churches.
3. Most of the organizations that sent voter rights workers to the South and the inner cities in the 60’s were churches.
4. Churches ran the underground railroads that got slaves out of the south before and during the civil war.
5. Churches provided safe haven and financing to the army of the colonies during the revolutionary war.
The local/state government civil service employs in aide agencies who are confronted by the human misery brought on by good old capitalism are forbidden from being politically active by the Hatch act.
I think this is a case of saying “who is going to speak out for me ” and then denying the only groups that can the right to say anything.
And they wonder why nothing ever happens.. :tommygun: :tommygun:
The pooch has arrived but I can’t seem to paste a picture.
No, you can’t paste a picture. You need to use an image tag, and use a fully qualified URI for the image (which means it has to exist somewhere on the Internet). You could, for instance, post a photo to member photos, and then link to it from here. Just be sure it’s less than 400 pixels wide, or it will fuck things up.

Hey, Andy (or anybody else), can you get parts for a Lenovo laptop? Specifically, a motherboard. The DC-IN jack on mine is (as I’d been afraid) soldered to the mobo. Can’t find a place to buy a new one. Sucks. Two cents worth of plastic.
Pennsylvania (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate John McCain said on Friday he fears that al Qaeda or another extremist group might attempt spectacular attacks in Iraq to try to tilt the U.S. election against him.
The Zips were victorious tonight over Western Michigan 73-62. Didn’t get to watch it, but the Yahoo writeup sounded like it was quite a physical contest.
They will play either Kent State or Miami (OH) tomorrow night for a trip to March Madness. The Zips haven’t been since 1986, when anger-management headcase Bob Huggins was coach.
Well, I got shut down by NC and D6 for some reason so no more bad puns and ‘humourous’ vid.
They sure are hammering Obama tonight about his pastor. I just can’t imagine that some candidate for POTUS would allow himself to be affiliated with such fanaticism. Obama’s candidacy is being declared over by some tonight.
And just for the record, PJ, I’m not gloating, just happy Akron is winning. Last year they got screwed out of the NIT despite 21 wins. I’m thinking if they don’t win the automatic bid to the NCAA, the NIT may screw them over again. The Orange have a much better shot.
Granted, it’s the NIT, but it’s better than nothing.
Obama’s candidacy is being declared over by some tonight.
Comment by vernon — March 14, 2008 @ 10:42 pm
I’m guessing that these would be the “some” that Faux News cites in their “some say” reporting. Hillary and Walnuts wish it was over, no doubt.
Obama had the good sense tonight to seize the proper arena and go on KO’s show to denounce Rev. Wright. A weeknight would have been better than a Friday, but WTF, you take what you can get. Better to handle it now than to let it fester all weekend.
They were all faux. You didn’t expect them to give him a faux pass? :nana:
Yeah, he went on KO. Acquitted himself well but definitely not very
comfortable.
He even went on faux afterwards (I think). I had the misfortune of watching obsHannity and Colmes for the 1st time. Eww. sean says it’s over. He must be right.
Myself, I think much of what that pastor is saying makes sense which is why it is probably over for Obama. The hillaroids and the McCainicals will beat the shit out of this.
Well fine, if you wanna start digging into peoples associations, I’m sure we can find crazy uncles, doddering aunts and grumpy grampas in everyone’s camp. This is getting ridiculous and I’m becoming disgusted and disinterested. :yuck:

You could, for instance, post a photo to member photos, and then link to it from here. Just be sure it’s less than 400 pixels wide, or it will fuck things up.
If you need the syntax, it’s something like:
<img src="http://www.whatever.com/imagename.jpg" />
Am I suppose to know what happen to Marc Radio (was on my right)? 😥 … :fire: :sammy:
If it makes one feel like doing more work … then “nevermind” ❗ … A!I!V! Cool 8) PJ …re 80… I even Understood you-ish ….image etc… by  trial & error :rofl2: 🙄
What? Does it not work? Seems to work to me. The Liberal Confessional from 12/28/2004 is on right now.

Insane!
frangela……… :tommygun:
I believe this :omg: and I am only frustrated :fustrate: THE CONGRESS has done nothing. I keep “agitating” in many ways but still  …..A!I!V!
That didn’t work.
I’ll find out tomorrow about the motherboard.
I found a place that says they can fix it for $195. Don’t know if they can be trusted, though. God only knows what a new mobo would cost. Sucks.
OK, well, when we get close to 100 these days, I feel compelled to post gibberish until we get there.
God knows I’ll never be able to stay up late enough to live blog Bill Maher.
Anyway, IIRC, he’s off this week, so it’ll be a repeat.
Damn, the way this puppy ran around at the park today, you’d think he’d be wiped out now. But he seems to have gotten his second wind.
OK, I quit for a while to give you people a chance to write something profound, and you blew it.
And the lesson you learn tonight is never give up. Because someone might be out there to help you achieve that goal.
Even if the goal is something as lame as bullshit posts to get into triple figures.
Speaking of triple figures, they didn’t score that many points, but the University of Akron Zips are back in the MAC title game Saturday night.
7 PM (I think, check your local listings) on ESPN2. From Quicken Loans Arena in beautiful downtown Cleveland.
Amen, Brother.
Sad.
I was getting to like the guy.

Keb,
They were all faux.
And this was a minor point of mine … and media is only getting involved again, finally. :hot: :pirate: :yippee: A!I!V! :reaper: :dancers:
Well fine, if you wanna start digging into peoples associations, I’m sure we can find crazy uncles, doddering aunts and grumpy grampas in everyone’s camp. This is getting ridiculous and I’m becoming disgusted and disinterested. :yuck:
The hillaroids = :spank:
And, Kp, that is exactly what they want and what they will be shooting for from now until November.
Now how do I get a copyright ‘hillaroid’ on a weekend? Is a timestamp on MSBlog good enough?
:pirate: :yippee: A!I!V! :reaper: :dancers:
Bama’s preacher?
tempest in a tea cup.
i thought the rev. had quite
a few valid points in his rant.
