A little late with this today, after staying up way past my bedtime last night. And too damn tired to come up with much to say, except I’m sure glad it’s Friday. Have a good one.

 pj- the only person who can get a shout-out from marc without even calling in
This doesn’t look good. :omg:
http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_marcy_wi_080410_obama_delegate_purge. :fustrate:
Yea, I am here … for several hours The Computer Had Attitude :smack: … :reaper: A!I!
What does that delegate thing mean … CA IS FOR HILLARY … whatever he is doing she better do the same. :growl: :tap:
Overnight reversal by Obama :hot:
Sen. Obama, CA Progressives Thank You by marcy winograd Thu Apr 10, 2008 at 10:03:37 PM PDT
Dear Senator Obama:
Thank you for graciously reinstating and welcoming all California delegate hopefuls, including me, Marcy Winograd, and many others who helped build the Progressive Caucus in the California Democratic Party. (scroll for Obama campaign letter)
Tonight, we are thrilled you embrace our support.
Grassroots anti-war activists and young Obama campaigners will have their vote on Sunday, when caucuses in California congressional districts decide who will proudly represent you at the National Democratic Party convention in August.
Thank you, Barack Obama, and thank you, grassroots activists, for blogs, calls, and emails to the Obama campaign, urging a reconsideration of the delegate pruning announced just 24 hours earlier.
Though I would be a faithful Obama delegate at the convention, I recognize there are many deserving delegate candidates, only some of whom will realize the privilege of rallying for you and a new America.
I hope to be among those organizing on the floor of the convention, reminding the super delegates that you garnered the most popular delegates, cheering you on to victory, all the while championing a Party platform calling for an end to the brutal occupation of Iraq, passage of the Employee Free Choice Act, development of clean alternative energy, and quality health care for all.
Onward to victory in Pennsylvania!
Sincerely,
Marcy Winograd
President, Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles (pdamerica.org)
O’bama :slap: :slap: :tap: :tap:
Then I have to get involved. I had just contacted (left msg) for some other Clinton supporter and that I needed to talk to him since I might be changing to Obama but he, Obama, X’d me again . :growl: …A!I!
That first link doesn’t work anymore. Obama had purged most of the progressive antiwar delegates in California in favor of bundlers meaning people who ‘bundled’ money in amounts between $2000 and $5000. He thought they’d be less likely to switch their votes in Denver. The progressives gave him a :fu: reality check about where loyalty lies. 😡
With Marc gone and now Press leaving early … :smack: 🙄 I feel so unsatisfied. … :smack: now this Delegate CA Caucus … that is BS :smack: A!I!
Salmon Season Canceled
Salmon fishing off California, Oregon banned
(04-10) 20:24 PDT SAN FRANCISCO — No commercial or recreational salmon fishing will be allowed off the coast of California and most of Oregon this year.
The Pacific Fishery Management Council voted Thursday to cancel the chinook fishing season in an effort to reverse the catastrophic disappearance of California’s fabled run of the pink fish popularly known as king salmon.
“I think it’s probably the right thing to do,” said Barbara Emley, 64, who has run a commercial fishing boat with her husband out of Fisherman’s Wharf since 1985.
“It’s tough, though. We’re going to lose our (fishing) community. People are going to have to figure out what to do with five months of no income.”

Chesapeake Bay and North Carolina’s sounds are in much the same way, especailly because of runoff. The bay has industrial and lawn wash to contend with while hog waste is killing off the sounds. The final blow could be a really wet hurricane season that accelerates the runoff.
NC Blue , then there is #9. 8) , although this will get some here very mad. :rofl2:
sleep……… :yippee:
Damn, you young’uns sure like to stay up late on school nights. Me, I have to make sure to get to bed on time so I’m wide awake at work, now that my fellow Florida employees can pack heat in the workplace.
Not to mention my supervisor, who has anger-management issues and would probably find it easier to shoot me than to fire me. Less paperwork, and she could probably get the housekeeping staff to clean up the mess for her too. Heaven forbid the fucking princess might break a nail or something.
And Charlie Crist is probably going to sign the bill. Way to pander, assmunch.
:fu:
Don’t make any sudden moves Kev 😮
Maybe your company can get you a deal on bullet-proof vests :paranoid:
Tell ’em you’re a Christian, Kev, and they won’t be able to touch you.
I added the Progressive Democrats of LA to the political links, for anyone who’d like to visit them.
The Last 1/2 hour with Bill … that’s about all I have now save Ring of Fire…. >>>>>> but for now :pirate: :yippee: :dancers: A!I!
I carefully explained to the dogs that I was going to be up late, last night so I needed to sleep this morning. They didn’t listen.
It sure was nice to have 3 days of Marc and the company of all youse guys to listen with.
Now we get to watch AAR expire with the hope that NovaM will get some life breathed into it and perhaps some better programming.
Yeah, I was reading some comments somewhere or other, saying ‘big deal, AAR has 60 affiliates and NovaM only has 14.’ What they don’t realize is that they count anybody that carries any programming as an affiliate. So NovaM is about to get a whole lot more affiliates.
Noticed Randi got her DNS changed to point to NovaM now. I hope she can reconstitute her site (not that I went there much). Her version of things was pretty interesting, and makes AAR sound like even bigger shitheels.
Wait Gang, why are liberals for breaking laws ie I.R.S. Law 501c3 or whatever …(I have in files) and for a company’s representative that it is applauded for her to say under the banner of AAR or a company or school — like if I was speaking about bookkeeping but instead talked about saving The Sea Lions or Saving the Wolves……
S.C. or AAR has the right to “suspend” Randi. Randi then QUIT…… :smack: Tea Cheers Pending… I want to take a nap…I Hope…A!I!
I know about breaking the law … if I was arrested further it was major jail time and … so on…
…but not over I.R.S. Laws or just the “Fire in a Theatre” law. She, Randi, was there at a 960 event but as always an (was an) AAR event, although GRN960 sponsored The Event.. I’m gone for a sleep if lucky, if back on old’ time schedule. :peace:
Sea-Ya later if a debate is pending :slap: :pirate: :yippee: . *poof*
I had to use 911 this morning around 0430 and it connected me to another county’s emergency dispatch. It wasn’t life threatening but our local police don’t have a local number. Cavalier said they’d fix it, let’s hope so.
Here’s the photo from last night.
Mayor Nutter’s the good looking guy.
Hey Druid, did you hear what Randi’s side of the story was?
Where is randi’s side of the story?
She was on with Marc last night, and explained what happened from her perspective.
Nice photo, Andy. But, Mayor Nutter is certainly NOT the good looking one.
Basically – and, somebody correct me if I don’t have this right, ‘cuz it was pretty late – she said that she had been quietly going around doing standup routines for a while. She was scared of getting up and doing it, but she was going out at various places and giving it a try. She said she wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t great, either, but wanted to keep giving it a try.
Anyhow, when she went to this private party for Green 960, she got up and said she was going to do stand-up, and the folks in attendance thought that was great. So she did this stand-up routine for the folks there, and it went over pretty well. Somebody in the audience got a video of it, and it was posted to the radio station’s website for a couple of weeks.
Along the same time, AAR ownership changed hands (again). The new owners reviewed her contract, which had a clause in it saying she could quit, but couldn’t be fired. They wanted to change that. She said no, it’s a contract.
just quick passing by  … Yawn, PJ I saw Full Video and heard her on Marc … (snicker) 😉 Good Night Good Day Good Whatever… :bee: 8)
So, the AAR owners decided to see if they could make life tough for her, and they pushed this two-week old video out there to see if she could take scorn and ridicule while they evaluated her worth to AAR.
They found out she was their most valuable asset, and decided they wanted her back, but they still wanted to change her contract. She said no, and decided that she couldn’t afford to fight them for years in court (all the while off the air), so she just wanted out.
So, she’s out and off to NovaM.
She didn’t sound angry to me at all. Kind of relieved, really.
So, from what she said, she was out at a private event and trying to do a comedy routine. AAR was just trying to get leverage on her to change her contract. Nobody would ever have heard of this if AAR and Larry Johnson hadn’t put it out there – edited, the same way Rev. Wright was edited, to make it sound really horrible.
She was on with Marc last night, and explained what happened from her perspective.
Rat’s. I missed that part of the show.
Nice photo, Andy. But, Mayor Nutter is certainly NOT the good looking one.
Awww….
Thanks PJ!
Hey, at full resolution, I can count all your whiskers!
Seems like KTLK has dropped the ball on the Malloy podcasts or someone at NovaM wised up so thanks to a ‘burningbush’ again for the link to Maron last night subbing for Malloy.
I was going to thank ‘him’ but that nick is ambiguous.
There are some new VODs of recent SammyCams including yesterday with Randi’s departure and Sam getting a little steamed about hearing on the ‘tubes that Richard Belzer was filling Randi’s slot next week.
:omg:
O’Bama’s raising money!
As for Rev. Wright, if the IRS wants to try to collect back taxes from his church, I say, let ’em go for it. I hope they’ll also go for all other priests, preachers, and rabbis out there that push for candidates or political parties and policies.
Damn. Any billionaire bundlers out there who want bankroll me, let me know. All I want to do is start a progressive radio network (maybe teevee, too, if you got enough cash).
Re #32:
Everytime something like this goes down at AAR I become more and more convinced it’s being run by undercover or overt repugs bent on changing what liberal and progressive means. I don’t know how many times I can say I’m done with AAR. Not enough, I guess. :tap:
I think AAR is done with us. They seem to want a very different kind of liberal station than we do. The choice of Belzer over Sam says, to me, that they are looking for a different audience, as usual.
I doubt seriously that Green 960 violated any tax laws having this private event, nor did Stephanie for speaking there. I don’t believe that they were asking for any tax exemptions although they may legitimately try to deduct incurred expenses. AAR obviously did not since it was not their event and they had nothing to do with it. If any of these entities are non-profit, it is strictly unintentional. :rofl2:
I like Belzer but I think they owe Sammy and I really don’t know how much cache he will bring. He certainly will not take any of RR’s slots at the affiliate level.
I think it is ironic that AAR purged all of the comedians like a plague and suspended a host for trying to be one and then immediately turn to one in lieu of one in the hand to try to staunch the bleeding.
Oh, yeah, I will probably listen to Belzer instead of Randi after her 1st hour.
I like Belzer. Whether he can do radio or not, we’ll see. It’s not a skill everybody has. Say what you like about Randi, she knows how to do a radio show. I mean, she was filling 4 hours basically on her own for a while there.
I’ll give Belzer a listen, ‘cuz I like him. He isn’t a permanent replacement, though:
I think Sam’s biggest problem was that while they were telling him they didn’t know anything about the situation and what would happen, Mark Green was already getting the word out about Belzer on the Huff Post.
So, they lied to Sam. As usual.
Probably already here somewhere but
Randi on Larry King
I just finished watching Rachel on line at a panel discussion in Boulder about guns and gun control. Her first date with her partner was at a gun range- she thinks :tommygun: are pretty awesome :paranoid:
Belzer was pretty vitriolic on Maher’s show. He might have a quick melt-down.
They really fucked Sammie over 😡
You don’t suppose that guns are somehow compensation for something Rachel isn’t getting enough of in her life, do you? 🙄
Bad pj- You’re going to have appear at the misogony court with marc
Mrs A suggested maybe something double barreled covered in latex :rofl2:
I think she said musket loaders were pretty cool- really
Again, maybe already posted but
Randi talking to Maron
I’m listening to Randi with Marc and she was talking about the fact that AAR said “they were not in the business of apologizing.” Sounds exactly like a rethug. They just can’t admit they’re wrong, ever.
Pretty cool that Marc slid in and grabbed the interview with Randi there. I hope NovaM can afford to pay Sam enough to move. I can’t imagine there’s much holding him at AAR, as long as he can work from his bunker in Upstate NY. Then, if he has a good experience, maybe that other guy can slide on over at some point.
People seem to respect this Manzo guy, so maybe they won’t be afraid to work for them.
I have to guess Randi has taken the wad at this point but since she already had affilialtes it will probably work out. I don’t see it giving them a lot of wiggle room.
Sam’s on the Cam today for Randi. No :boobs:
I hope you also heard Marc talking about AAR last night and about Morning Sedition. For me, AAR is really the talent – they’ve been more of a constant than the management. Mark Green is not responsible for Danny Goldberg’s mistakes nor is Goldberg responsible for Mark Green talking to huffpo instead of to Seder
yesterday. But bad management has been a constant at AAR.
Marc described the earlier days of AAR as a team of true believers and progressives. It seems that the current incarnation of management may be trying to take the network in the direction of profitable entertainment. They are unlikely to give a visionaries like Maron or Seder the tools to create new and wonderful radio. They are more likely to try and find a big name to go up against Rhodes. If that name is Donahue, it might be worth a listen. If that name is Rosie O’Donnell or some of the others leaked to huffpo, it might be entertaining but not very enlightening and certainly nothing new or edgy.
I only hope that the fracturing of AAR will lead to more progressive talk taking root in more places. In my state, there are only a couple of cities where you can tune in the radio and hope to hear an alternative viewpoint. The internet is great but more alternative ideas still need to be on the airwaves as well.
On a statewide public radio program today, a guest stated that she was sure Iraqi women were glad we “liberated” them so they could go out and work, get an education, and not have to wear a burka. The host, who must know by now that Iraq women were educated and in the workforce under Saddam, let it go without question.
Say, when is GoLeft TV going to broadcast the Seder-Maron weekly smackdown?
Very crappy Sammy Cam over here today.
Wow, Lauren’s looking right at me. It’s freakin’ me out.
Marc is on with Sam!
“Beam Me Up Scotty. There is no intelligent life on this planet.” :smack: A!I!
My computer of course said no so thx to v., if he is still here 🙄 i get to finally hear the very end … but I heard most of what she said and what is being said about her…whatever :jerk:
Colette, Well Spoken and ending with a great idea:

Sam keeps asking people to email AAR to ask that Sam be on 5 days a week.
pcollins@airamerica.com
I have been needing more tea forever :tap: … eek now I have to exercise,,, Sea-Ya :pirate: :yippee: A!I!
Damn. interesting developments. I haven’t been able to stream Marc on Malloy, so thanks to everyone for making the podcasts available. I really don’t like NovaM’s podcast fee structure. I’d rather just pay $1 for each download.
It just keeps getting bettah
Air America to Feature Celebrity Drive-Time Guest Hosts-Richard Belzer Kicks Off Series Starting Monday April 14 during the 3-6
I sent my e-mail to Phillip Collin and sent a copy to Sam.
I also wrote about AAR and why it was so important to me here.
Melina posted this at B@B too, but go send her some love and traffic at RIPCoco.
There is something weird about that SoupP. The address should be pcollin at Airamerica dot com. Why does Seder keep insisting it is pcollins? Seriously, there is something weird about this.
Brill Jill!
I just realized I’m probably not going to be able to listen to Belzer next week after all. For the last week or so, when I access the AAR feed I get two programs at the same time, or maybe it’s the same program with a tape delay, I’m not sure which. It’s way too annoying to listen to, so usually I tune in KTLK at 9 AM for Stephanie Miller and then just leave it there for Hartmann and Randi.
But KTLK has already announced that they’re switching to Randi starting next week, so if I want to listen to Belzer I’m going to have to find an AAR affiliate that isn’t switching. Good luck to me with THAT.
Good to hear Marc on Sam’s show today. I always wanted to visit Australia. Maybe someday.
So, I’m listening to Farias and he was talking about Randi and how swamped they are suddenly, with advertisers calling and stuff, so I went down there and handed them my resume and said, ” I have absolutely no experience in radio but I have a college degree.” And she said that no one there had any experience in radio either. So hopefully I’ll get a call. 8) I’m really hurting right now. 😯
Hey, Maron had no experience in radio prior to MS, and he developed into quite the host.
Of course, AAR fired him twice so that’s probably not the greatest example to use. 😀
Then again, being a former AAR employee is turning into a badge of honor of sorts.
Krista, if you get hired maybe you can do an Arizonans Against McCain type of show. Let me know if you need writers.
Vernon, I too am confused. Sam says Collins but yesterday he said Collin or Collins, it didn’t matter. Digby has it as collin and I used that to send an email. I googled p collins and got this DU site. I will email him at both places but the one I sent to Collin has not been returned.
Perhaps the Collin/Collins confusion is so prevalent in P’s experience that he just has 2 email accounts to make the confusion irrelevant.
If this were any entity, other than AAR, I would assume that the desires of their audience would be paramount in their consideration. But AAR, whoever the owner, seems to regard us as an embarrassment that would best be replaced by a more respectable crowd.
As I haven’t reached respectability yet, it’s just never going to happen.
Each successive owner keeps making ‘business decisions’ (gotta make a profit, doncha know) and every ‘business decision’ makes them less profitable and lower rated.
I have to get more tea and soon feed animals and mop floor, start fire, do dishes, and..and..whatever tea cheers all (and the loop continues)A!I!
Hmmm I wonder why no one is mentioning Obama SF Flub teehee… :nana: A!I!
Tweety
They just can’t help theyselves
Can anyone give me a link to sammie today on AAR? White rose society stopped saving her shows thursdays. I missed the marc/sam call-in
Saw Rachel live today in Boulder. She’s amazing to watch, just how smooth ,fast and connecting she is. Her girlfriend Susan was there- they were going to spend the weekend in Colorado somewhere. She’s much more ‘mannish’ in person (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Susan is quite a bit older- their love for each other is obvious
art, it is here in 3 parts
I think Maron was in the 1st hour.
vernon- as always, thank you 😀
You’d be a good writer, Kevin but I doubt I’ll get a show right away! But if I do! 😀
Here is today’s show all in one piece
Let the eagle flub
Don’t forget Krista if you need any character voices for sketches and such….
Oh yeah, the Morning Seditionist Choir, we’ll need that too! :blech:
Rachel Maddow: Progressive Media’s Next Mainstream Star
As the seemingly endless Democratic presidential primary slog enters its second spring, one amazing woman has managed — by relentless dint of hard work, long experience, sharp intelligence, quick wit, quicker quips and a winning smile — to shatter the glass ceiling and take her rightful place in the traditional boys’ club of big-time politics.
Do I detect a hint of sarcasm!?
:alc: :dancers: :rant1: :omg:
Do re mi fa so latte :joe: do
I liked the way AAR management said they wanted talk show hosts and not talk show hosts that wanted to be comedians … but then they go and get The Belz as a fill-in.
Which is exactly what Vernon said earlier. We all see the irony in this.
Once upon a time in the radio world, when someone was let go from a radio station, no one made a peep … not the fired person … not the co-workers — not anyone. Everyone went on and acted like nothing happened. I think Air America has changed this and provided a level of on-air introspection unheard of for commercial radio. This actual might be a viral marketing campaign. weird.
🙁 Just a Little
Not to mention
According to Kris Olinger, who manages Denver’s Air America affiliate, Rosie O’Donnell, Fran Drescher, Phil Donahue and Richard Belzer are among those under consideration.
Wonder what the problem is with Rosanne?
Someone mention Carrot Top?
Zep is all lawyered up
My new Congress critter!

It is going to take me forever to read all the posts from V and I have to put music in and get tea or :smack: …A!I!
