Not much to say today. I’m still worn out from the weekend. If only two weekend days could last half as long as one week day…. Oh well. Don’t forget to do your taxes.

Maron V. Seder probably not tomorrow…

Maron in Australia and we’re trying to see if we can do the show… hoepefully by the end of the week… I’ll keep you updated… Heard part of Randi’s show today… very wierd to hear all the imaging and and then realize she’s not on Air America… I’ll have an update for folks by the end of the week….
Munch is a mensch- Rachel said when they fired Kent Jones, Belzer called to say how much he like Kent. He’s probably paying him out of his own pocket to appear this week.
I think Randi syndicated herself. I don’t think she’s working for Nova M.
Last random thought- I’m thinking of pulling the plug on AAR. I don’t really care that much about Randi (I suspect she’s broadcasting from Florida because there’s not enough room in Arizona for her ego) but because they’re such clueless morons. Rachel will do fine somewhere else soon.
So Vernon, you think they gave Randi a huge amount of cash type of contract? I was thinking maybe they’d give her like 100% of whatever they’re charging the affiliates to carry her show and a piece of the NovaM pie. Of course, I don’t actually have a clue as to how these things work. I figure just letting her work from Florida has to be worth a lot of money to her (I don’t know what it was costing her to live in NYC, but I bet it was quite a bit).

She said yesterday that NovaM was paying her more than she made at AAR, but didn’t go into details.
The only time I heard her criticize Seder was when she gently chided him for letting AAR sucker him into thinking he had the inside track on her slot (so to speak) and then he found out about Belzer. But I only listened to the first half of the show, so if she dumped on him after that, I missed it.
Hey Tweety, I had orange juice for breakfast today, ya big tub of crap!
:fu:
Sorry, I misinterpreted what was said. 😳 Obviously, she’s working for Nova M.
Tweety, I’m having my morning coffee. Are you relating to my everyman (woman) personna?
Have you noticed those tea drinkers? They might be terra-ists. You can tell by checking out their bowling technique.
Christ, aren’t we #1 in anything anymore?
For the guy with four cats :cat:
Heron flies east today :knit:
I want to go bankrupt and then combine with another bankrupt entity, and then I could become NUMBER #1. That is the American WAY.
Alfred Hitchcock and Cary Grant are rolling over in their graves. The chickens have left the coop and were last seeing heading N by NW.
#6 – that gives the right-wing business first crowd a reason NOT to cut pollution. Are we seeing the last days of the human race?
Earthquakes could destroy half the country, hurricanes can inundate every tidal basin, but if economic disturbances were to disturb someone’s Frequent Flyer mileage account, we would have HELL to pay.
Glorified Greyhound passengers would get their pitchforks and come for the CEO’s with a vengeance. Now that’s bitterness, as times get tough and they cling to their accumulated mileage.
That’s a great video, Blue. :rofl2:
:billcat: :cat: Blue tres cool 8) :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :cat: A!I!

How Hunger Could Topple Regimes
The idea of the starving masses driven by their desperation to take to the streets and overthrow the ancien regime has seemed impossibly quaint since capitalism triumphed so decisively in the Cold War. Since then, the spectacle of hunger sparking revolutionary violence has been the stuff of Broadway musicals rather than the real world of politics. And yet, the headlines of the past month suggest that skyrocketing food prices are threatening the stability of a growing number of governments around the world. Ironically, it may be the very success of capitalism in transforming regions previously restrained by various forms of socialism that has helped create the new crisis.
Here’s your chance to become a citizen reporter.
John McInsane wants to suspend the gas tax. That way we can drive and pollute more and push the price of gasoline up.
The Brave New Films site with Sam’s petition is very confusing. When you sign on, there is a comment page and you then have to click again to get to the actual petition. But, all the comments say, “Give Sam a show etc.” I think many people are commenting, thinking that they are signing the petition.
:joe: :joe: :joe: :joe: 😮 😮 and 😮 😮 😮 :yuck: :crap: :fustrate: :fustrate:
:smack: Good Whatever :sheep: le
Most states can’t maintain their highways with the existing Tax structure … but… the FEDs just put their share of the gasoline tax in the general fund and spend it like everything else it just represents a worthless peace of paper . We need the Spanish to buy our interstate system and make the truckers ( as well as commuters) pay tolls on top of 4 bucks a gallon for diesel and $3.50 a gallon for unleaded regular :reaper: :reaper:
Just another way for their world view to make everything go to hell in a hand basket . .. :tommygun: :tommygun:
One of the things that the SBR did up to recently export was Food .. Most of the time the world prices were about half to a quarter of what the domestic cost to produce was . so the FEDs bought excess and essentially gave it away.
Under NAFTA the SBR gave Mexico large quantities of corn which made subsistence farming not practical so the farmers all migrated north .to guess where .. Now they can’t even buy the seed to grow their own because all the corn is going into Ethanol production. :reaper: :reaper: Once again an unregulated market screws everyone except those who own the market . :tommygun: :tommygun:
The problem you see at the supermarket is also a result of globalization. We now import so much of our winter produce and feed our beef and dairy cattle the now non existent or very expensive grain crops that the Ethonol production and the devaluation of the dollar gets the consumer both coming and going , :tommygun: :tommygun:
Remember that the Soviet Union ( which was a dictatorship with state ownership which was not what Marx envisioned ) failed only not because planning and distribution on a central scale failed but because Absolute power corrupted absolutely .. Absolute power in the hands of anyone will cause a system to fail absolutely
Uncontrolled capitalism is as big a failure as the Soviet Union ever was . :reaper: :reaper:
What is very interesting to me, is that the don’t tax us crowd is also the they’re taking our our sovereignty, crowd but in order to maintain highways without taxes, we’re literally selling them to foreign nations.
With the Rethugs, it’s always Opposites Day
This is a very disturbing photo:
It’s a Clinton/McCain morph. Kind of reminds me of Captain Pike, after the accident (boop once for yes twice for no).
Has anyone else seen this?
Obama Would “Immediately Review” Potential Bush Administration Crimes
Sounds good to me. And also a darned good reason for keeping Guantanamo Bay open and functioning.
I wonder if he is willing to investigate the biased right-wing hate mongers, I mean media outlets. I think the SPLC should add Faux Noise to their list of hate organizations.
Yeah, I saw that earlier. I hope he gets the opportunity to make good on it.
Maybe when people get hungry enough they’ll start creating a different economic system of barter and exchange with each other. Leaving the corporate assholes holding all their worthless crap in their big warehouses for archeaologists to dig up a thousand years from now. These moronic corporations shoot themselves in the head when they incapacitate our buying power. Greed is blind.
I love the old commercials on Techwebsound because they help me escape my reality. I don’t consciously remember them because I was just a babe in ’67 but my cells remember them. Even though the world was ending for many at that time, it was just beginning for me. All that hope…POOF!
I just had my interview for food stamps today and I’m feeling a bit humiliated. Especially since they take your mugshot and fingerprints now. :spank: :knit2:
And who knows where those will end up and how they will be used. Who fucking knows anything anymore.
KP- I just want to express my sadness that I “know” someone (even if remotely) who has had to go through such a humiliating process just so that you can eat. I’m afraid there will be many, many more in the coming months and years.
Here’s a wish and a prayer :om: :cres: :gate: :jesus: that things improve for you soon.
Nevermind, I have to smile more … It’s Pearl Jam :smack: 🙄
Thanks Art, I’m debating whether I would rather go dumpster diving behind the local deli. :fire:
KP, sorry I did not know what I was stepping upon … KP, I had to do similar things at different times …. just remember this metaphor, artist, to paraphrase Mary Shelly talking to a reporter about Percy – “He is a poet, the words are in his mind.”
Krista, having recently dodged the bullet myself ( I was about 2 weeks from having to sell my house to avoid for4closure) if there’s anything I can do please let me know.
Thanks Andy, my main dilemma is finding work that’s steady and pays shit or work that pays good and is not steady. The latter had been fine til about 4 months ago. I’m having a hard time bringing myself to work for corporations anymore. I went to Sprouts last week and had to fill out a “personality Test” 🙄 I only got 8% on customer service. I think those things are highly inaccurate. I also tend to walk out of places that want me to sign a release stating that they can view my credit. I just think it’s wrong to associate my credit rating with job performance. I know it’s the way corporations do business anymore. But we need to start throwing off the yoke of the corporation. Soylent Green might be people but corporations aren’t. :tap:
